Story
2019: Cooperation with SKB Kontur on development of the direction "Fundamental informatics and information technologies"
Under the agreement, the company will involve IT specialists in the development of educational courses and teaching at the university, provide financial support, and participate in the promotion of FIIT among applicants.
As part of the Digital Economy national project, it is required to train millions of specialists. `Digit` is included in everyday life, and for this you need qualified specialists. On the basis of the Ural Federal University, a partnership program of both bachelor's and master's levels will be implemented. This once again confirms our fruitful cooperation and readiness to reach a higher level both in education and in applied research, noted Victor Koksharov |
According to Koksharov, UrFU is turning into the largest training center for IT specialists outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg. If in 2019 the university accepts 900 people for budget places in IT, then in 2020 it is planned to have more than 1,300 of them.
The FIIT program also provides for project-based learning - solving problems close to workers, and student internships with possible subsequent employment at SKB Kontur and other IT companies in Yekaterinburg.
We have been cooperating with the university for more than 10 years. We conduct internships, schools of industrial development, we pay nominal scholarships to promising students and grants for teachers, we support competitions in sports programming and information security. And now cooperation goes to another level. Together, UrFU and SKB Kontur are reforming the direction `Fundamental Informatics and Information Technology`. This will allow us to train world-class developers, which are so necessary for the economy of Russia and the Urals, explains Evgeny Filatov |

It is assumed that TMK will become the key setter of tasks for the laboratory projects.
SAP Next-Gen Lab plans to work on several groups of promising industrial scenarios. The first direction is the development of projects based on video recognition in order to monitor product quality, labeling on goods, as well as work on industrial safety and labor protection. The second direction of projects is text recognition and analysis for intelligent account reconciliation and liquidity forecast. The third is projects based on the industrial Internet of things and augmented reality to create digital twins and effectively maintain and repair equipment.
To work on projects, the laboratory is supposed to be equipped with the necessary technical equipment with the support of SAP. In addition, on its basis, it is planned to provide access to SAP platform solutions for creating prototypes using advanced technologies. The format of student work includes project seminars, hackathons, master classes, innovation jams, trainings, as well as access to an extensive library of SAP training materials.

Anonymous review 15:07 16.01.2020Low level of teachers. In ft algebra, complex variables are just awful. Complex variables are impossible to visit - the teacher makes mistakes in every letter and number, does not hold attention - sucks.
I studied at a good school, my classmates went to other universities, and I was wrong.
If you want to be bullied by stupid losers, then enter the FTI. They won’t teach you anything, because they themselves don’t know anything, but believe me, they make fun of full program. a nightmare.

I am a 3rd year student at the Higher School of Economics and Management - I like everything. Teachers explain the material being studied well, help to write scientific articles that can then be published - this is a valuable practice for students. The schedule of couples on time is convenient - you can combine it with work or part-time work. Of the minuses - sometimes couples are placed in a building at a different address, it is not always convenient - to travel to different places. The dean's office is always ready to help students with any questions. In your spare time you can...

Student of this university: March 17, 2017 |
They just took and smashed the dream ... and faith in humanity and hope))
This university has been my dream for a long time. For a long time I could not afford it, because ... expensive!
And now I'm a student! So what? As it turned out, my fictional world turned out to be like a house of cards: shabby old, still Soviet walls ... broken furniture, everything is miserable, an utterly bloated bureaucratic machine, when two employees of one department cannot come to consensus... so many people are recruited into groups that there are not enough desks and chairs ... where does this money go? Education? nothing, couples about nothing, boring, stupid .... but, God, how much pathos .. and what especially caught my eye - the teachers. Gray people with unhappy faces... is this my dream? what can these unfortunate people teach me? After all, I have something to compare! This is not my first university! Where were the teachers who wanted to be like! Which shone and smiled, radiated kindness and participation to students, aroused a desire to study .... But I didn’t appreciate it then, I dreamed of Ural Federal University ... How wrong I was ... If UrFU is the best university in the Urals, then where -Let's go?! Is THIS the best we have? Run! Only to run away and not waste time and money, the mind tells me ... but what about the dream, the heart quietly asks? .... I know, the mind will win. always wins. But a little more he will let himself amuse himself with a dream ... Sincerely, still a student.
I am currently studying at this university. Promoted to the marrow, Ural Federal University, in fact, does not represent anything good. The university was created stupidly in order to row money.

Named after Yeltsin (modern Ural Federal University, former Ural State Technical University, UPI) is a large educational institution in Russia, located in Yekaterinburg. Today it has about 40 thousand students, 2 thousand teachers. The university has a rich history. It started in 1920. Let's take a closer look at what events the current university has experienced.
At the origins of creation
The need for qualified specialists in the mining business arose in the Urals in the 18th century before the abolition of serfdom in the country. Industry was concentrated in this area. Some of the workers working here included foreigners. To eliminate the shortage of personnel, a mining school was opened in St. Petersburg towards the end of the 18th century. It trained engineers for factories and mines in the Urals. The problem with the specialists was solved, but they noticed one minus - the personnel were trained in isolation from production practice.
In the 19th century, several mining schools were opened in the Urals, and at the end of the century, proposals for opening a technical university began to be discussed. Several projects were put forward, but none of them were implemented. At the beginning of the 20th century, the economic crisis negatively affected the mining industry of the Urals. Due to the difficult situation, factories were closed, new construction was stopped.
The economic boom came in 1910. Industry began to recover, and the number of proposals for the creation of a technical university in the Urals increased. The event associated with the founding of the educational institution took place in 1920. An educational organization began to function, from which the Ural State Technical University (UPI) was to grow in the future.
The formation of the university in the period from 1920 to 1940
The first years of the educational institution were quite difficult. One of the main problems was financial difficulties. The Soviet government did not have the means to develop higher education. In the 1920s, measures were taken to rationalize the network of educational institutions. As a result, only technical specialties and faculties remained at the university. For this reason, the university was renamed the Ural Technical Institute in 1925.
In 1930, the educational institution was divided into 10 small highly specialized institutes close to certain enterprises. This was done in order to improve the training of personnel, but this plan failed. Vtuzy (as these educational institutions were called at that time) had a weak material base. In 1934, some of them were merged into an industrial institute. It has become a multidisciplinary educational institution, in which there were 7 faculties, 31 specialties.
War years
The future Ural State Technical University (UPI), which was called an industrial institute in the prewar years, built the main buildings in the 1930s and equipped laboratories. In the early 40s, the institution was already considered one of the largest technical educational organizations in the country, a forge of engineering personnel for Siberia and the Urals. All this was crossed out in an instant by the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The university found itself in difficult conditions. First, divisions of general military training were created at the institute, and courses were organized for the training of nurses and sanitary workers.
In the future, the university set itself the goal of implementing high-quality and accelerated training of specialists needed by the rear, factories engaged in the production of ammunition, tanks. The study was difficult:
- four-shift classes were introduced, which were held in poorly heated buildings;
- vacation periods were shortened;
- correspondence and evening classes were cancelled.
End of the war and post-war period
The Ural State Technical University (UPI, Yekaterinburg), which was called an industrial institute, coped with all the tests. In 1945, the Great Patriotic War ended with the victory of the USSR. The news of the defeat of the enemy burst into the educational institution with an explosion of joy. This event served as a starting point for a new period in the history of the institution.
AT post-war years The country began to rise from ruin. The restoration and construction of enterprises began, the demand for qualified specialists increased. In 1948, the Ural Industrial Institute was renamed the Polytechnic University. Kirov. This event defined the profile of the existing institution. In subsequent years, the university developed, new faculties, departments, specialties were opened.
Ranking among the leading universities in the country
Approximately in the 60s of the previous century, the Ural Polytechnic Institute became one of the leading institutions of higher education in the country. The number of people wishing to study here has increased. Several people applied for 1st place. Graduate enrollment has also increased. In connection with the changes taking place in life, disciplines and studying proccess, technical training aids and programmed control began to be introduced.
In 1969, the Ural Polytechnic Institute formed a working faculty. Opened preparatory courses at the institute. Correspondence courses were also created, as well as a correspondence physics and mathematics school on a voluntary basis. Educational television has also begun to take root. It became one of the main forms of teaching in the first three courses of correspondence and evening education.
New period in development
An important event that marked the beginning of a new period in the history of the university took place in 1992. The educational institution changed its status and name. The Institute became known as the State Technical University (USTU). The specialties are varied. Appeared such as "World Economy", "Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials", "Rational Use of Natural Resources and Protection of the Environment", etc.
Since the change of status, the Ural State Technical University (UPI) has begun to make a gradual transition to a multi-level education system. This means that some faculties have begun to train bachelors and masters. A few more important events date back to 2008 and 2010. In 2008, the educational organization was named after the first President of the Russian Federation. In 2010, the Ural State Technical University (UPI) named after B.N. Yeltsin merged with the university. A. M. Gorky. As a result, UrFU was formed.
Modern period
UrFU, which currently exists, is one of the best universities in our country. The educational organization occupies high positions in national rankings. It has a huge number of Russian and foreign students. There are about 400 educational programs, and budget places- more than 7 thousand.
Ural Federal University does not plan to stop there. In the future, he is going to create a scientific, educational and innovation center in the Urals Federal District. The university will be the core of all this. This will allow us to gain leadership in many areas and become one of the world's leading educational centers.
Specialties at the university
UrFU (former Ural State Technical University, UPI), in accordance with the current certificate of state accreditation, operates in 37 enlarged groups of professions, areas of undergraduate training. Here is some of them:
