Today I will tell you the whole truth about the thermal power plant, how it works, why such huge structures are being built and what is the use of them. As an example, Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP will be presented, it was there that I visited as part of a blog tour organized by RusHydro. At present, the installed electric capacity of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP is 280 MW, the installed thermal capacity is 817 Gcal/h. The thermal power plant provides 85% of the needs of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services of the capital of the Amur region for heat and generates a seventh of all electricity consumed in the Amur Region. The BTPP is equipped with three turbine units, four power boilers, and two hot water boilers. The main fuel for the station is brown coal from the Raychikhinsky, Erkovetsky (Amur Region) and Kharanorsky (Chita Region) deposits, hot water boilers run on fuel oil.

If you are not interested in the history of the construction of the station, then feel free to scroll down, then there will be a story about the CHP and photos! The history of construction of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP begins in the sixties of the 20th century. In 1961, a regional meeting was held on the prospects for the development of heat supply to the city of Blagoveshchensk until 1965. Then for the first time the idea of building a thermal power plant in the city was voiced. At that time in Blagoveshchensk, the sources of heat for enterprises were the Blagoveshchensk city power plant and 40 industrial boiler houses, and for the housing and communal sector - 198 boiler houses.
On September 2, 1966, the Ministry of Energy and Electrification of the USSR approved a scheme for the development of heat supply in Blagoveshchensk. It provided for the construction of a thermal power plant with a capacity of 210 MW (as a result, the capacity was increased to 260 MW), which was intended for district heating municipal and industrial consumers of the city of Blagoveshchensk, as well as covering the shortage of electricity in the Amur energy system.
On April 19, 1967, the Amur Regional Council of Workers' Deputies created a commission to select a site for the construction of the Blagoveshchensk CHP. On May 15, 1967, the general plan of the city determined a place in the western industrial region of the city along the ridge of the Amur-Zeya watershed.
In 1968, the Leningrad branch of Promenergoproekt developed a design assignment for the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP, which was approved by the USSR Ministry of Energy and Electrification on July 16, 1969. To reduce the cost of construction, the USSR State Planning Committee proposed to install hot water instead of a power boiler to cover the peak load. For hot water boilers, fuel oil was determined as an additional fuel to Raichikhinsky brown coal.
In the spring of 1974, the directorate of the CHPP under construction was organized. In April 1974, an agreement was signed for the construction of a thermal power plant with the Dalenergostroy trust. To supply heat to the construction, 4 boiler units with a capacity of 8.5 tons each were installed, operating as part of Energy trains No. Barnaul and Dorogobyzh boiler plants, and the directorate of the CHPP under construction on December 31, 1976 was renamed the Blagoveshchensk combined heat and power plant and included in the list of operating stations.
The construction of the first stage of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP was completed in December 1985 with the commissioning of the third boiler and the third turbine. The installed capacity reached the design capacity and amounted to 280 MW of electrical and 689 Gcal/hour of thermal power.

The development of the industry of the region, the construction of housing in Blagoveshchensk steadily led to an increase in the number of consumers of thermal and electrical energy. The issue of expanding the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP - the construction of the second stage - has become urgent. In 1988, construction and installation work on this project began. According to the project, the second stage of construction provided for the commissioning of two boiler units and one turbine unit. However, in fact, only one boiler unit was put into operation, the fourth in a row at the CHP, it was put into operation in December 1994. On December 20, 1999, cooling tower No. 3 was put into operation. In January 2000, 2 network pumps were installed and put into operation.
Phase 2 of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP is actually an expansion of the capacity of the existing station. After the construction of the 2nd stage, the installed electric capacity of the CHPP will increase by 120 MW and amount to 400 MW, the thermal capacity will increase by 188 Gcal/h, namely up to 1005 Gcal/h. The annual output will reach 464 million kWh, and the annual supply of electricity - 427.0 million kWh. It is planned to use coal from the Yerkovetsky deposit as fuel for the production of electricity and heat. Completion of the construction of the 2nd stage of the station is scheduled for December 2015.

02. Our trip was timed to coincide with the start of the construction of the second stage, this is what Blagoveshchensk and the Amur Region have been waiting for for a long time.

03. For most people, CHP is associated with these structures:

These are cooling towers, there are three of them at the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP, let's figure out how they work. So, these towers serve to cool water, here is a paradox - the CHP generates heat, heats water for batteries in houses and generates electricity, and at the same time the CHP cools water, what it is for, I will tell below.

04. In short, CHP works like this:

05. General view of the turbine shop.

Coal is burned in a boiler. The boiler is a huge structure, the height of which can reach 10-12 floors. The water in the boiler runs through the pipes and at the same time heats up from the combustion of fuel in the boiler furnace, steam is formed in the same pipes. By the way, water is heated both from the flame and from the gases that are released during the combustion of fuel. As a result, at the exit from the boiler, we get steam, which enters the thermal turbine. Under the steam pressure, the turbine blades begin to rotate and the mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy. Highly important point, steam is obtained from purified water, which is processed in the chemical workshop, and the analysis of the purified water is also regularly carried out there. The steam left after the turbine enters the condenser (there are turbines with a built-in condenser) and there it is converted into water, which is sent back to the boiler for the next round. Here the cooling towers come into play, the water in the condenser cools the steam, then the water immediately takes away the excess heat, heats up and goes to the cooling towers, thereby cooling the condenser itself. Water from the cooling tower enters the atmosphere into reservoirs. In this case, water is used both for heating batteries at consumers and for converting it into steam. As you understand, the boiler is one of the key units of any CHP. It remains to answer one more question - what exactly is the smoke from the chimney? These are exhaust gases that go from bottom to top and heat the pipes through which water flows, the remaining gas, most of the energy of which is spent on facilitating the conversion of water into steam, exits through the chimneys and rushes into the pipe. One pipe can work for several boilers.

08. This is how a turbine at a CHP plant looks like.

10. It is here that a new turbine of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP will soon be built.

11.

12. Boiler - top view.

13. Each boiler at a thermal power plant is several tens of meters high ... For example, a new boiler of the second stage of a thermal power plant has a height of 46 meters.

14. CHP central control panel, the heart of the entire plant!

15.

16. As it was clear from what was written earlier, the main fuel for the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP is coal, it is brought to a special car dumping shop.

17. General view, while the workshop is empty, we are waiting for the train loaded with coal to approach.

18 Cars go one by one.

19. A special device overturns each approaching wagon.

20. The working staff is watching the process from the side, at this moment it becomes very dusty and dirty in the workshop, but this is a natural process, so people work in masks.

21.

22. Pay attention to the chassis of the car, when the car turns over, coal enters the crushing shaft, from there it is delivered to the boilers by conveyors.

23.

Well, in conclusion, I recommend watching a video dedicated to the construction of the second stage of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP and not only. The state allocates finances for the development of the energy sector of the Far East, so the most important projects are yet to come!

As part of that trip, I visited two more hydroelectric power stations, I suggest you look into these posts, it will be interesting!

Many thanks to the press service "

Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP is the basic energy enterprise of the Amur Region. The thermal power plant provides 85% of the needs of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services in heat and generates a seventh of all electricity consumed in the region.
The main equipment of the station: three turbine units st. No. 1 type PT-60-130/13 and Art. No. 2,3 type T-110/120-130; four power boilers of BKZ-420-140-7 type; two hot water boilers of the KVGM-100 type. The main fuel is brown coal from the Raychikhinsky, Erkovetsky and Kharanorsky deposits.
The installed electric power of the station is 280 MW, the installed thermal power of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP is 817 Gcal/h.

The Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP was built only in 1976 - then two water-heating boilers manufactured by the Barnaul and Dorogobyzh boiler plants were launched, and the directorate of the CHPP under construction on December 31, 1976 was renamed the Blagoveshchensk Thermal Power Plant and included in the list of operating stations. At the same time, the construction of the first stage of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP was completely completed in December 1985 with the commissioning of boiler No. 3. With the completion of construction, the plant's installed capacity reached its design capacity and amounted to 280 MW of electrical and 689 Gcal / h of thermal power.

Installation and construction work on the construction of the second stage of the CHPP was started in 1988. In December 1994, boiler No. 4 was put into operation, later - in 1999 - the third cooling tower began to operate.
8 billion rubles will be spent on the construction of the second stage of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP. A quarter of this project will be financed by RAO ES of the East. The rest of the money will come from the federal budget in 2014. After the completion of the construction, the thermal power of the station will increase by 175 Gcal/hour, and the electric power - by 110 megawatts.

The contractual load in hot water and steam as of January 1, 2008 was 660 Gcal/hour. Specifications for connection of consumers for 95 Gcal/hour were issued. The power shortage, taking into account the issued technical specifications, amounted to 60 Gcal/hour (excluding the thermal power of peak hot water boilers). Currently Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP has suspended the issuance of technical conditions for connection to CHP networks. There is also no reserve of thermal power at boiler houses that heat the housing stock.

Since the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP is the main supplier of thermal energy for heating and hot water supply of city facilities, a decision was made to build the second stage of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP. For this, it is planned to install a power unit No. 5 of the BKZ-420-140 type and a turbine unit No. 4 of the T-110/120-130 type. To commission boiler unit No. 5 and turbine unit No. 4, it is necessary to install the main and auxiliary equipment: fuel supply, chemical water treatment, outdoor switchgear-110 kV, hydraulic ash removal system, construction of cooling tower No. 4, technical water supply system. The implementation of this project will increase the supply of thermal energy from the BCHP to 767 Gcal/hour.

To ensure the increase in heat loads, create heat capacity for closing small uneconomical boiler houses operating without treatment plants, the Irkutsk branch of the Siberian Energy Scientific and Technical Center OJSC developed heat supply schemes for the city of Blagoveshchensk. Of the six proposed heat supply schemes, the most economical one was adopted: the development of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP to the established electrical power 390 MW, thermal - 1180 Gcal/hour.

The increase in the capacity of the BCHPP will allow closing 51 inefficient boiler houses. Boiler houses remain, the most remote from the district heating zone of the BCHPP, where it is planned to replace boilers that have exhausted their resources with boilers of the same capacity.

The enterprise is the energy center of the city. It is a large single organism, a mini-state. The well-being of citizens and guests of the city, comfort and coziness in apartments, offices, enterprises, institutions depend on his healthy work ... [photo]

Basic industry enterprise

For almost 40 years, the branch of the Amur Generation “Blagoveshchensk CHPP” has been the basic energy enterprise of the Amur Region and the city of Blagoveshchensk, the main source of heat and electricity regional center.

Station

Provides 85% of the needs of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services of the city in heat

Generates a seventh of the region's total electricity.

On the company's balance sheet

More than 46 km of main heating mains

8 km of steam pipeline.

The station operates

Three turbine units

Four energy and two hot water boilers.

Installed capacity

For electricity - 280 MW

For heat energy - 817 Gcal / h.

Complex automation and automatic control of technological processes have a positive effect on increasing the efficiency of production.

Meanwhile, the years take their toll, the station has exhausted many of its resources. Some of the equipment is outdated and needs to be upgraded. The construction of the second phase of the BCHP is currently underway, which will increase the reliability of the heat and power plant and increase the supply of heat to consumers.

The rhythm of the energy heart depends on all participants in the process, whether they are employees of the turbine, boiler shops, chemical laboratories, the main control panel or auxiliary services.

We were convinced of this ourselves, having been here on an excursion. Our guide - Vitaly Andriyanov, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP.

Workshop with coal field

It all starts with fuel. Therefore, in the technological chain of heat and electricity production, one of the first is the fuel and transport shop. Coal is brought in railway from the Erkovets section of the Raychikhinsky deposit. Tanks with fuel oil also come to the station. Shop workers take wagons with coal. With the help of car dumpers, electric pushers, and in winter - a defrosting device, they carry out mechanized unloading of cars with fuel, supply it for burning to a boiler shop or to a huge coal field for storage. But first, the fuel is weighed, measured, cleaned and crushed.

The area of the coal field is 6.95 hectares, which is about the size of nine football fields. It is a visiting card not only of the fuel and transport department, but of the entire enterprise. The work of the shop staff is really difficult. Regardless of the weather conditions, in cold weather, and in hot weather, day and night, in the open air, they unload fuel so that the station operates smoothly.

First energy - superheated steam

In the boiler shop, the first energy is obtained - superheated steam, which is fed through steam pipelines to the turbine shop and drives powerful turbines.

Our main task is to produce steam of the required parameters for steam turbines, tells us Ilya Kolotov, deputy head of the boiler shop.- We have six boilers: four power steam and two hot water. We use hot water only during certain periods of peak loads, when the thermal power of the main boiler units is not enough.

Boilers are huge structures as high as a nine-story building. Around an incredible number of pipelines - steam, hot water, condensate, set different kind heaters, pumps, shut-off and control valves. Coal crushed to dust burns in the furnace of the boiler unit. The walls of the firebox are made of metal tubes through which water flows. From the flame and heat in the furnace, the temperature of which, by the way, reaches 1100 degrees, the water turns into steam. He, in turn, leaves the boiler and goes through the steam pipelines to the steam turbine. Flue gases from the boilers are discharged into two chimneys, which rise above Blagoveshchensk by 210 and 120 meters.

And all this hulk of equipment is controlled by automation and people. The operator of the thermal control panel of the boiler shop Konstantin Prozherin takes readings of the operation of the main and auxiliary equipment, leads the operation mode of the boilers. Because of modesty, he did not particularly communicate with us, although Konstantin Sergeevich has a solid work experience at the enterprise and he has something to tell. Competent, highly qualified. Deserves kind words and his brother Dmitry, who works in the workshop of thermal automation and measurements as a master.

"Symphony" of the turbine shop

Vitaly Andriyanov invites us to the noisy turbine shop of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP, where the rumble of numerous equipment forms a "technical symphony". This is another link in the technological chain of the enterprise. It is here that heat and electricity are generated, which are so necessary for consumers. Therefore, the main production products of the station.

This is where the conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy takes place. The boiler steam entering the turbine causes its multi-ton rotor to rotate at a speed of 3000 revolutions per minute and heats the water that enters the city for heating. It also heats the condensate from the exhaust steam. It returns to the cauldron in the form of water for the next round. At the same time, the turbine rotor rotates the generator rotor, which in turn generates electricity.

Looking at the station, Blagoveshchensk residents can see part of the equipment of the turbine shop, namely, three large structures - the cooling towers of the thermal power plant. These huge volcanic towers, from whose vents pour thick white steam, cool the water used to cool the equipment and the steam in the condenser.

Head of Turbine Shop Dmitry Romanov The main task of his team is defined as the fulfillment of load schedules for the generation of heat and electricity:

Our specialists maintain the equipment in a state of constant readiness to carry loads, ensure reliable, trouble-free and economical operation of the equipment. The repair team is engaged maintenance shop heating plants. This year, a major overhaul of one of the steam turbines was carried out. Cooling tower No. 1 was taken out of operation for reconstruction. Unique work was carried out to restore equipment. A modern complex of a stationary process control system has been purchased and is being installed.

Service starts from the bottom

The turbine shop is the connecting link for the operation of the entire station, the shop equipment works for the final output and release of the main products of the CHPP, - continues the conversation the driver of the central thermal control panel of the turbine shop Alexander Kulik.- After graduating from ASU, I have been working here for ten years. Started as an auxiliary equipment lineman. I like the team, there are opportunities for self-realization, career growth.

Yes, it's very good that we have something to strive for, - echoes a colleague the driver of the central thermal control panel of the boiler shop Alexander Komissarenko.- Everyone overcomes a certain service level, starting from the “bottom”. And regardless of the initial education. I still have a technical school behind me, I study in absentia at the AmSU. I came here following the example of my father, Leonid Alekseevich, who has been working at the station for 30 years.

Young people are well aware that specialists are advancing to the next level, having gone through all the stages, starting from the lowest positions. And only as they gain experience, the prospect of advancement opens up before them. The entire management team of the enterprise started from junior positions. Special knowledge and skills are required from the personnel, any work is very responsible. We need high technical erudition, the ability to make decisions correctly and quickly, and to navigate well in any extreme situation. You need to know the rules of operation, safety precautions and process technology, to know how to work on complex equipment.

In fact, at the station we ourselves grow our personnel, we work closely with educational institutions, - says Vitaly Andriyanov, who himself began his career as an electrician on duty. - The students have an internship at the enterprise, here they have the opportunity to evaluate the work of power engineers, the aspiration and potential of the profession. Often, after graduating from their alma mater, they come to work with us.

Electricity is distributed here

The electrical workshop also belongs to the leading divisions of the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP. Here, electricity, in the production of which many pieces of various equipment are involved, is distributed among consumers.

We, the workshop workers, are responsible for the quality of the supplied energy, maintaining the normalized voltage and frequency parameters of the electric current, - comments Andrey Klimkin, shift supervisor of the electrical shop.- Ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability of energy production is also part of the main tasks of the workshop.

At our station there is no such division, where there would be no electrical equipment. All electrical equipment under the jurisdiction of the electrical shop, and not to count: transformers, switchgears of all voltages and purposes, cable channels and tunnels, control circuits and much more. All this, from the maintenance of lighting station premises to the repair of generators and power transformers, are carried out by my colleagues working in the electrical shop.

Andrei Anatolyevich has been at the station for 26 years, served in the army, worked in the Central Electricity Grids, but still returned here. Once upon a time, his father, Anatoly Pavlovich, also worked here.

In the same office with Andrey Anatolyevich, a woman power engineer Natalya Zakharevich works. Her father, Stanislav Nikolaevich Otradnykh, has long been on a well-deserved rest, but he instilled a love for the profession, for the enterprise of his daughter. Her experience at the thermal power plant is more than three decades, she came here as a 19-year-old girl, she graduated from the Novosibirsk Energy Institute in absentia. It takes control and measuring readings of various devices. This is part of her job to control the regime of electrical equipment. He considers his work very important and interesting.

Modernization of devices and equipment of the electrical shop is a constant phenomenon. Various technologies are being introduced, including energy saving. At two transformers, the old arresters were replaced with modern ones. This will keep you safe during a thunderstorm. Maintenance personnel have experience in replacing oil circuit breakers with SF6 circuit breakers that function successfully.

"Night Director"

Infinitely giving commands on the phone, answering endless calls station shift supervisor Alexander Begun. Vitaly Andriyanov aptly calls him a "night director" - because day and night, Alexander Alekseevich and his colleagues are in charge of the entire mini-state, which is the Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP. Rather, the operating modes of the equipment according to the given schedules:

It is necessary to constantly observe the schedules of electrical and thermal load for a day by managing power equipment and operational personnel. If an emergency situation suddenly occurs, it is necessary to immediately make a decision to change the operating mode of the equipment and the station as a whole, notify all interested parties. Actions take place in minutes.

In order for everything that Alexander Alekseevich spoke about to happen instantly, the station constantly improves the level of personnel training, conducts emergency and fire fighting training in an environment close to real. According to authoritative commissions evaluating the actions of the plant personnel, the BTPP looks worthy.

Days of labor protection

Absolutely all specialists of the enterprise are required to have knowledge of safety and labor protection. Therefore, a special unit was created at the station.

The main activity of the industrial safety and labor protection service is aimed at preventing accidents and fires at the enterprise, eliminating injuries and occupational diseases of workers, - explains leading engineer of the service Sergey Filonov.- We take part in the training and testing of knowledge of the CHP personnel, every month we hold labor protection days, during the year we hold various competitions, competitions in professional skills.

24 hours a day 365 days a year

Vitaly Viktorovich Andriyanov enthusiastically talks about the work of each service of the power plant, and if newspaper space allowed, we would follow his example.

A chemical workshop that annually produces about 250 thousand tons of demineralized water and carries out a lot of various samples and analyses.

The shop of thermal networks, responsible for the state of thermal "arteries" of Blagoveshchensk.

Motor transport workshop, which provides all divisions with cars and specialized vehicles for the delivery of workers and various cargoes.

A heavy equipment workshop, whose workers at the controls of their bulldozers, loaders, excavators provide uninterrupted fuel supply.

Thermal automation and measurement workshop, monitoring the technical condition a variety of control and measuring devices, sensors and means of thermal automation.

The department of dispatching and technological control provides the station with various high-quality communications.

The production and technical department is a think tank that oversees the technical direction of the station.

Most of the time, the workshops are empty, people appear here once every two hours, during a round. At the same time, the equipment is not left unattended - control and management of its operation are carried out from control panels.

All CHP operation is controlled from the main control panel. Workplaces on duty overgrown with hundreds of buttons, dozens of sensors - mechanical, electronic. At a glance the entire production process of the station. We are told how the quantity and quality of the supplied energy are controlled, generators and power lines are controlled at all facilities where the energy of the CHP is supplied.

Information about all events is recorded in a special log.

CHP is a strategic facility, operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

COMPETENT

Andrey Sazanov, director of the branch of JV Blagoveshchenskaya CHPP:

What allows our station to withstand all the challenges of time and trials with dignity? I answer without hesitation: "Of course people." We employ over 600 people. The team is strong, efficient and talented. Its backbone was formed long ago. Moreover, in some cases, the craving for the profession becomes hereditary, real labor dynasties are formed. I sincerely thank each of my employees for conscientious work, dedication, patience, sense of duty and love for their work. This is the basis of the reliability of our energy. I am proud of my team, which ensures the uninterrupted operation of the main and auxiliary equipment around the clock. These people devote themselves to difficult work, where heat, dust, noise are constant conditions. It is very difficult to single out someone personally from the station staff. Everyone works conscientiously, everyone can set any tasks. We welcome alumni every year. Many of those who were hired a few years ago now work in middle management positions. By the way, many specialists who worked for us now occupy higher positions at industry enterprises not only in the Amur region, but throughout the country.

For almost 60 years, our production process and the reconstruction of the station equipment have not stopped for a minute, - comments Igor Usov, director of the branch of JV Raichikhinskaya GRES.- This year, the chemical water treatment was reconstructed and clarifier No. 1 was replaced. next year a generator switch will be installed on turbine generator No. 6. A lot of work is constantly being done to introduce automated system control on boilers, turbine units, heating plant and pumping stations. Having worked for a solid period, in fact, in a non-stop mode, the station "stocked up" with an experienced personnel potential, a production base. Once the state district power station provided electricity to all industrial and social housing facilities in the southern districts of the region, and was the only source of electricity for the regional center. Today RGRES

I congratulate all the personnel of Amur Generation and all the power engineers of the Amur region on their professional holiday. We highly appreciate the strong partnership relations that have developed with the teams of other Amur energy enterprises. Each of us is always ready to understand colleagues and come to their aid. After all, we have one goal - to make the life of Amur residents comfortable.

I wish all power engineers and their families health, happiness and success. I wish to solve any problems at a high professional level, with love for my work.

Sergey Rudenko, director of the Amur Generation branch of JSC Far Eastern Generating Company.
