Samara true story

Alexey Solonitsyn

“Language is given to man in order to hide his thoughts,” said Frenchman Charles Talleyrand, master of political intrigue.

We are used to being guided by a different concept about the purpose of the language and the words we pronounce, even sometimes not knowing that they are said in the Gospel of Matthew: “From your words you will be justified, from your words you will be condemned” ( Matt. 12:37).

Each city has especially revered places, which are its face, its "visiting card". By the bell tower of the monastery in honor of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God, by its churches and also by the Cathedral of the Resurrection Cathedral, which towered behind the monastery shrines, being nearby, Samara was recognizable.

In the godless years, they demolished the cathedral, famous throughout Russia, and the bell tower, and the churches of Iversky, leaving only the building of the refectory church. It housed the offices of the House of Scientists, who were engaged in the dissemination of knowledge - of course, corresponding to Marxism-Leninism. And where there was a churchyard and the burial places of the most prominent citizens of Samara, they erected a residential building in which they settled the most prominent residents of the new Samara - that is, the administrative apparatus headed by the first secretary of the regional committee of the CPSU .. In our today's times, apartments in the "obkom" house have become to buy the richest residents of Samara, as the "fathers" rested, and their children preferred to profitably sell the housing they inherited. The apartments in the "prestigious house" with a wonderful view of the Volga now belonged to entrepreneurs, or businessmen, as they began to be called in the capitalist manner.

Among them, one stood out in particular, which created a network of retail outlets in Samara, perhaps the largest. It was he who bought a suite of spacious rooms with high windows arranged in a semicircle.

This is how the “new Russians” settled down, not attaching importance to other arrangements of the city and the state. And little by little the Iberian Monastery was being revived. There were countless difficulties - the descent to the Volga went just past the "house of scientists", right to the Brewery, to that place known throughout Samara, which was called "Dno". There was a trade "drinking and takeaway", and what kind of pictures you will not see here then. It is no coincidence that the famous film director Stanislav Govorukhin filmed the finale of his documentary film “The Russia We Lost” here, showing how a drunken man and woman walk from the “Bottom” to the Volga in an embrace, staggering.

But if the director ordered his cameraman to turn the camera in the opposite direction, to the Iversky Monastery, located across the road, he would see stone walls, the first temple in honor of the Iverskaya icon, the first sister building .

But the director set other tasks, and therefore, if he saw that the monastery was being revived, then this fact “did not fit” into the fabric of his sensational film at the time.

There were more and more sisters of the monastery, which was formerly the spiritual center of Samara, and their prayer intensified. Especially in the most difficult days, when it seemed that troubles would cover everyone with their heads and no longer get out from under the raging elements of the "nineties". I will name only one of them: on the territory of the monastery, a so-called “working town” was formed with communal apartments and all the delights of life in such “crow's settlements”, described by famous satirists. All plumbing and sewer communications had rotted, the houses had never been overhauled, and when the main temple of the monastery that used to be here began to be revived from the shoe factory, the rotten pipes were about to break through. No sooner had this formidable danger been eliminated than a new one, no less terrible, arose. The corner of the “Obkomovsky house” began to subside, threatening to collapse. No wonder, because the house was built on loose soil, on a churchyard.

The exposed coffins and crypts were taken to a new place on the territory of the monastery, where a necropolis was built. A moleben was served led by the primate of the diocese, Bishop Sergius. The reburials were carried out jointly with scientists, who gathered a lot of valuable facts related to the history of Samara for their scientific work. They convinced the authorities to help the construction - for these purposes, they had to pump a huge amount of concrete into the hill, build a supporting wall so that the “obkom building” would not slide down.

The time has come, and the revived temple in honor of miraculous icon Iberian Mother of God. Here, to the monastery, where the inextinguishable lamp of the Orthodox faith was no longer warm, but was burning, people from all over the city flocked, remembering that it was the Iversky Monastery that was the center of the spiritual life of the province.

And the abbess of the monastery, Mother John (Kapintseva), as she began the holy work of reviving the monastery, she continued it.

The time has come for the construction of the bell tower, with which we began our story. After all, the bell tower itself and its special ringing served as an identification mark of Samara, its spiritual symbol, and were a joy for the townspeople.

The same businessman who occupied a suite of rooms in the “Obkom building” was extremely annoyed when he saw from his high windows that a bell tower was being built opposite his apartment. He should be glad that the bells that heal the sick will fly straight to him, that the bell tower will not block his view of the Volga, but, on the contrary, decorate, as in the old days, both the panorama of the whole city and the view from his window. But he thought otherwise. Letters rained down in various instances. They explained to him that the land on which the bell tower was being built was monastic. That the historical shrine, which has belonged to the monastery for more than 150 years, is being restored.

In vain!

“Zakhar”, as the businessman and his shopping complexes were called, could not accept the fact that his iron will stumbled upon a stone that he could not budge.

Having exhausted all the arguments that are given in a legal order, he resorted to the one that is used in his world as the most effective.

When I was instructed to write about Matushka John, her cell-attendant said this:

- Once, late at night, the bell rang at the door of the hegumen's house. The call is persistent, demanding. I left. I look: two people with machine guns are standing on the threshold, and Zakhar himself is between them. He says: "Call your boss." I'm to my mother: so and so. She got out of bed and got dressed. He says, "Go open it. Do not be afraid of anything". Went out to uninvited guests. Zakhar began to scold his mother so menacingly and obscenely, obscenely. “If, he says, you don’t stop the construction, we will remove you.” And again mother. And threaten again. I can tell you that not a single muscle on my mother's face trembled. She calmly listened to everything and said: “You are not dishonoring me, but the Mother of God Herself. Change your mind." In response, he again threatened, and only after that he left with his submachine gunners. I then thought: “Wow, this is our mother! That's who we should learn from, how to stand in the faith. This is what a warrior of Christ means.”

“After this incident, we learn that this Zakhar went to rest on the Cote d'Azur in France,” the cell attendant continued the story. - And there between them, these businessmen, there was a shootout. And this Zakhar got a bullet right in the tongue. I had to cut off half of my tongue. And then, in another place, he was shot to death.

I made inquiries before publishing the essay on Mother Joanna. Indeed, a well-known Samara businessman was shot twice. The first time the bullet hit the cheek, went right through, damaging the tongue. The second time, on the beach in Marseille, "Zakhar" was killed in a criminal "showdown".

From the bell tower of the Iversky Monastery, a wonderful view of the Volga and the city opens up. Of course, not everything in my city is as we would like. "Candles" were built along the embankment and thereby blocked the view of the old, primordial Samara. What can you do, many entrepreneurs are fighting for profitable, especially attractive places closer to the Volga, forgetting that such cities as ours rose from the river in tiers, without closing one house with another. But nothing, but the temple in the name of St. George the Victorious, built for the 2000th anniversary of the birth of the Savior and the anniversary of the Victory, flaunts on a high slope. The bell tower of Iverskoy also rises, and its ringing calls to prayer in the very center of my city. The bell ringer, a short, thin mother, rings beautifully: she has a wonderful ear for music.

I listen to these chimes, look at the bells and see that each of them has a language, just like a person. And this language calls to the temple, to the Lord, to the Most Holy Theotokos, who, as Matushka John is deeply convinced, is the Abbess of the monastery.

And the language “idle and crafty”, as Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin said in the famous “Prophet”, is uprooted.

Sometimes in the literal sense, as it happened with us.

NOTE

Zakhar! why are you chasing me? It's hard for you to go against the pricks

.
Sometimes the rampage was used as a weapon. For example, the Israeli judge and warrior Samegar killed 600 Philistines with an ox goad ( Court. 3:31).

.
In Holy Scripture, this shepherd's instrument is often mentioned in figurative terms. So King Solomon wrote that "the words of the wise - like ox goads" because they can move a person to make the right decision (Eccl. 12:11).

.
The resurrected Jesus also used the word "scary" in figuratively. He said to Saul, "It's hard for you to go against the pricks." His words paint an image of a stubborn animal that does not go where the owner directs it with goads. Saul, having shown wisdom, followed the advice of Jesus, changed his life path and became the apostle Paul.

Berserkers were not the very first, nor were they the best warriors to use a combat trance. Their popularity, thanks to Hollywood, has become planetary and eclipsed really masters of genius martial arts.
I already wrote about the ancient Jews - skillful super-warriors and the history of martial arts.
Jewish boxing and Jewish samurai:

I repeat a little.

Jews and samurai

Jews are the founders of the so-called "oriental martial arts"

I believe that in general the so-called martial arts are an invention of the Jews and are described in the Bible. Samson crushed the Philistines with nunchucks from a donkey's jaw (by the way, in the liberation wars of the 17th century, Ukrainian Cossacks used a horse's jaw as a weapon - chipped in a certain way it turns into a terrible weapon), and David's "strong" alone or together, back to back - fought off an entire army.
"After him was Samegar the son of Anath, who beat six hundred men of the Philistines with an ox goad; and he also saved Israel." (Judgement 3:31) An ox goad is a long stick - "dryn" (sharpened at one end, which is used to drive oxen, by the way, the Greeks called such a stick - an incentive, hence the concept of stimulate), is very similar to the combat staff of the Shaolin monks .
"Here are the names of the brave David: Isbosef Achamanite, chief of the three; he raised his spear to eight hundred people and hit them once. (One against eight hundred! - if this man was not a martial artist, throw the "weapon of the proletariat" at me" !)
According to him, Eleazar, the son of Dodo, the son of Ahohi, from the three brave ones who were with David, when they called out the Philistines who were assembled for war with reproof; the Israelites went out against them, and he stood up and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary and stuck to the sword. And the Lord granted that day a great victory, and the people followed him only to plunder [the dead]. Behind him is Shamma, the son of Age, a Gararite. When the Philistines gathered at Thiriah, where there was a field sown with lentils, and the people fled from the Philistines, he stood in the middle of the field and guarded it and struck down the Philistines. And then the Lord granted great victories "at. (2 Kings 23: 8-12) One man against the Philistine army! And they also say - "one man is not a warrior in the field." This is true for the goyim, but in the Israeli army, as according to Suvorov (oh Let's talk about Suvorov separately") - "every soldier knows his own maneuver."
"And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Saruin, was the chief of the three; he killed three hundred people with his spear and was in glory with those three. Of the three, he was the most noble and was the leader, but he was not equal to those three. Vaneas, the son of Jehoiada, a brave husband, great in deeds, from Cavzeil; he struck down the two sons of Ariel of Moab; he also descended and killed a lion in a ditch in the snow; (meaning the Eurasian lion - a kind of cougar. The last lions of this species were exterminated by Prince Vladimir Monomakh in Russian / Ukrainian steppes) he killed one Egyptian, a prominent man; in the hand of the Egyptian there was a spear, and he went to him with a stick and took the spear from the hand of the Egyptian, and killed him with his own spear: the glory of the three brave men, he was more noble than thirty, but he was not equal to those three. And David made him the closest executor of his orders. (2 Sam. 23:18-23)
The 33 heroes in Pushkin's poem are the "strong ones", the guards of David from the Bible. And the uncle himself - in Hebrew DOD - and means - David. This happened because Pushkin retold the tales of the Karaites - Krymchaks and Crimean Jews - This is the "tale of Tsar Saltan", "The Golden Cockerel", Ruslan and Lyudmila .. By the way, Pushkin wore a Jewish wedding ring with the inscription in Hebrew "betabaat haze" at mekudeshel... - with this ring you are consecrated to me according to the law of Moses and Israel.
Samurai, brave warriors defying death. But these are not just soldiers, but philosophers, poets. Being a samurai is a lifestyle, an ethic, a philosophy, and not just a virtuoso weapon. The very word "samurai" comes from the verb saberu, literally meaning "serve, support"; that is, a samurai is a service person. In Hebrew, saburim are Jews born in Israel, tough as a cactus - sabur, that is, in our opinion - tough guys. In Slavic - syabry - community members, hence the Serbs.
But doesn’t the word karate have Slavic roots - “kara te” (that is, to you), the Slavic samurai said to the presumptuous enemy.
When Jewish merchants seized a monopoly on the entire Silk Road from Chinese city Kaifen (Haifa) to the Spanish Toledo (from Talit) and Toulouse (from Tales, both words mean the Jewish prayer veil), they hired "strong" - HAZAKIM (wanderers and Cossacks) as caravan guards. So Jewish martial arts ended up in China and then Japan. These Cossacks were also called by the Chinese - "sho-muren", that is, people with colored (blue, for example) eyes. From here it is not far to the "samurai". The black-eyed Chinese considered blue-eyed people to be demons, the Japanese also called the faces of the European race - demons - goi-zhin. In general, goyim and goyim in Japan. "Retiring", the caravan guards settled in monasteries that provided assistance to the poor and sick. There, the hazakim taught the techniques of martial arts to young monks.
By the way, did you know that according to DNA, the Japanese and Kazakhs are 97.3% brothers (and the DNA of the Kyrgyz with the same Kazakhs is only 43.7%). And yet, among the samurai clans, the frequency of the R1a marker is much higher than that of the rest of the Japanese. And the Kazakhs, displayed in the Saka (Cossack) haplogroup R1a1, seriously, scientifically, consider themselves modern Cossacks (and Aryans), and the Kazakhs zealously retain the term "Cossacks" for themselves at the state level. This is not fantasy. I (Khazarin), being in Alma-Ata, talked with the local intelligentsia, and they seriously identify themselves with the Cossacks and the descendants of the Aryans !!!

Note: SAK GENE: haplogroups are included in the so-called "Saki gene" - the genetic basis of the Cossacks of all times and territories. Saks - historically, these are Scythians and Aryans - the people who inhabited Siberia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.

Take a look at the photograph of the statue of the Japanese samurai leader Kusunoki Masashige (1294-1336) at imperial palace in Tokyo. This is a very characteristic, iconic monument. It embodies not Asian, but EUROPEAN type person. The Japanese, unlike us, remember well who stood at the origins of the founding of their homeland and are still very offended when they are called "Asians".

When did the real samurai appear?
Samurai originated as a result of the Taika reforms (646) which were carried out as an attempt to adopt the political, bureaucratic and military structure of the Tang Dynasty. The greatest impetus for the development of daimyo and samurai as a class was given by Emperor Kammu at the end of the 8th - beginning of the 9th century, when he turned to the regional clans for help in the fight against the Ainu.

When did martial arts appear?

Japanese arts of the samurai - bujutsu (X-XI centuries), when the military class of bushi (samurai) was born to protect the newly acquired agricultural and land interests. This warrior class adopted bujutsu as part of their culture. Later, during the Kamakura era (1192-1333), the military began to play a political role. They practiced a number of martial arts, especially three types of mounted archery: kasagake (using umbrellas as targets), yabusame (shooting arrows at wooden targets) and inu-omono (shooting at running dogs - by the way, Nicholas II really loved to shoot over everything that moves, and not only over stray dogs and dogs of ladies-in-waiting in the summer palace, but also over cats and crows). True Samurai!
From about the 10th century, in parallel with the formation of the military class of the samurai, the art of fighting in armor began to take shape - yoroi-kumiuti (kumiuti, yoroi-gumi, katchu-gumi). It reached its peak at the end of the 12th-13th centuries.
In the XVI century. on the basis of kumiuchi, a new kind of Japanese art of close combat is being formed, which is called “kogusoku-jutsu” - “the art of fighting with small weapons”, briefly - “kogusoku”. The basis of kogusoku was fighting techniques with small weapons aimed at killing the enemy, as well as techniques for capturing him alive and binding.

The arts of close combat are described in the chronicles "Kojiki" (712) and "Nihongi" (720) all the techniques known at that time: punches and kicks, throws, arm twists, strangulations.
7th century - Sumo. And it's not just men's wrestling. At the Inari Shrine in Higashikane, saotome, girls planting rice, are fighting. Even the ancient name of sumo - "sumai" - is associated with the end of rice harvesting - sumai.
Chinese - e-ie - fistfighting, a broad term and a narrower one - Kung Fu (in Cantonese), Gong Fu (in official Chinese) - literally "work on oneself / training", also means the result of hard training, in Hong Kong is used to denote wu-shu, a variant of kung fu is also used. Beginning - the dynasty 618-907.
Karate - the term "karate" ("Chinese hand") was put into circulation in the eighteenth century. a certain Sakugawa from the Okinawan town of Akata. Upon his return from China, where Sakugawa studied the Shaolin style of martial arts, he founded a private school of Karate no Sakugawa. In the 19th century, karate came to Japan proper.
In the second half of the XVI - early XVII centuries. a huge step forward was made in the field of hand-to-hand combat without weapons and with the use of small weapons and improvised means. The formation of a new direction in the art of close combat, which is currently commonly called "jujutsu", began. There was no judo before! 882.
The year of birth of aikido can be called 1920, and the place is the city of Ayabe.
Krav Maga - the name in Hebrew means "close (contact) combat" (maga - combat, krav (close, contact), and refers to combat with physical interaction with the enemy, as opposed to combat using weapons at a distance (although in krav- magician are being studied modern views weapons - rifles, pistols, and other items, combined with self-defense techniques).
The Krav Maga system was developed in the 1930s by Imi Lichtenfeld, also known as Imi Sde-Or (Sde-Or - “field of light”, the translation of the surname into Hebrew). Initially, he taught his fighting system in Bratislava to help protect the Jewish community from Nazi militias. After arriving in Palestine, Lichtenfeld began teaching hand-to-hand combat in the Haganah. After the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, he became the chief physical and hand-to-hand combat instructor at the Israel Defense Forces Combat Training School. Lichtenfeld served in the IDF until 1964, constantly developing and improving his system. After his retirement, Krav Maga was adapted by him to civilian realities.
Sambo - 1938 - Soviet (Russian) type of wrestling based on a combination of oriental martial arts.
So, again, we do not see everything before the same until the 8th century, even the beginnings of the famous martial arts.
They appear suddenly and as if in ready-made, although they continue to improve.

In Europe, the first testers of trance (including combat) were:

nordic shamans

At present, the classical shamanic cults of Siberia and America are widely known and fairly well studied. But at the same time, there was a specific shamanic tradition in the territory of the North of Europe. The presence and fundamental role of what Mircea Eliade called "archaic techniques of ecstasy" allows us to attribute it to shamanistic beliefs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlPufHhbd1A

Runic magicians - erilis adopted from the peoples of the North who preceded them the practice of taking hallucinogens (fly agaric) and ecstatic travel during the ritual to the sounds of a tambourine and beaters, but at the same time developed their own system of symbols to illustrate shamanic cosmogony in the form of runes. At the same time, all the fundamental motives very closely echo: the Tree of Worlds in the form of Yggdrasil, Odin as the archetype of a shaman, his acquisition of knowledge through suffering, sacrifice and rebirth, a journey to the upper and lower worlds inhabited by spirits and gods.

Subsequently, the beliefs of the Erils became a transition from shamanism to the pagan cults of the Early Middle Ages with their more elaborate pantheon of deities, and the Futhark of the older runes will turn into a mantic system, but will still keep the vast knowledge of shamans about the worlds and energies that the Erils obtained in their incredible journeys beyond the known reality.

In the III-IV centuries of our era, Europe was stirred up by the Great Migration of Nations. Among the barbarian tribes, a special place was occupied by the Goths, who later largely shaped the main European peoples. Among the Goths-settlers, eager for conquest and new knowledge, during this period a kind of mysterious society was formed, like a military order-brotherhood of the era of the Crusades (such as the Templars or Hospitallers), whose members were called Heruli. In their customs, they combined the fearlessness and contempt for the death of berserkers with a spirit of equality and community. But the main distinctive feature of the Heruli was that they were the only carriers of the practice of martial magic based on the Futhark of the Elder Runes (the runic alphabet).
The word "herul" is the Latin version of the word "erilar" - eril, the rune magician, directly indicates the nature of the knowledge that these extraordinary warriors possessed. Military skill and dedication to sacred secrets gave them a sense of being chosen and allowed the Heruli to leave their mark on history.
In the 3rd century, magical warriors settled at the mouth of the Don and the Sea of Azov, from where they made desperately bold sea raids on the entire Black Sea coast, right up to Greece. After half a millennium, their exploits will be repeated by Prince Svyatoslav, in whom a direct follower of the military traditions of the Heruli is guessed (historians attribute the Heruli to the Gothic tribes already known to us, although in reality the Heruli are not an ethnic group, but an intertribal clan of character warriors). And in the XVI-XVIII centuries, the Gothic heritage will find its embodiment in the Vedic magic of the Zaporizhzhya Kharacterists and the Don Cossack freemen.

Belovodie - Rus' to Altai

All peoples of the world at all times had their own ideas about paradise and happy life after death. The ancient Greeks and Romans got to the young and beautiful gods, the warriors of the north got to the eternal feast among the heroes, paradise awaited the righteous Christians. In Rus', since ancient times, they talked about a certain country of bliss and happiness, which they called in a whisper Belovodie. Along with the image of the Christian paradise, Belovodie in Rus' was considered a refuge from grief and suffering. But unlike the Christian paradise after death, the inhabitants of Rus' believed that Belovodie could be found during life. There was a belief among the people that Belovodye is not an abstract concept, but a certain geographical area where you can find a way and stay there to live until the end of your days. The outstanding Russian ethnographer and scientist Nikolai Konstantinovich Roerich in the 20s of the XX century left the following entry in his diary: “Beyond the great lakes, behind the high mountains is a sacred place where justice flourishes, there lives the highest knowledge and the highest wisdom for salvation. This place is called Belovodie. The entry about the legendary country was made in connection with the preparation of the Central Asian expedition. The Upper Uimon Valley is the extreme point of Roerich's journey to the Altai Mountains, a remote, hard-to-reach place. It was Roerich who considered him the heart of Belovodye, the land hidden from people. Belovodye is in many ways a myth, a beautiful legend, but this legend has every reason.

Berserkers

We have already read about them.
In fact, the archetype of the berserker arose much earlier and takes its roots in Indo-European mythology. It got its expression in the ancient myth of the rabies of Hercules, the features of berserkerism are also traced in the fury of the invulnerable hero of the Iliad, Achilles. Trying to explain the phenomenon of berserkering, scientists put forward 3 main hypotheses.
According to the first of them, the fury of a berserker is an obsession with an animal spirit. This version is confirmed by the presence of information about the attributes of werewolves inherent in berserkers: dressing in bear and wolf skins.
The second is the use of a hallucinogen in the form of a fly agaric tincture. The use of "plants of power" to facilitate entry into a trance by fighters is possible, but unlikely, given the need for increased concentration in combat conditions.
According to the third explanation, berserkers are warriors who suffered from Paget's syndrome, a disease in which there is an uncontrolled increase in bone. It is interesting that in the skeleton of Ilya Muromets we see very powerful and thick bones and a skull with a very dense and powerful frontal bone (more than 2 cm thick).
All these versions have the right to exist, their adherents and arguments, but the most plausible explanation for the existence of berserkers seems to be the possibility of some specially trained warriors to arbitrarily fall into a state of combat trance.

Celtic Fenians

The most notable made up the sacred band of fianna. The Fenians did not hide behind their backs, shields, armor, did not calculate the actions of the enemy and did not study the strategy - these are the actions of a coward, which they recognized as unworthy. But they practiced for hours, bringing their virtuoso skills to fantastic limits. Their techniques were incredibly complex, and the preparation helped to use all the reserves of the body at the right time, opening up a second wind and internal energy. All this was taught in the school of combat agility. There they learned hand-to-hand combat, pole-fighting, techniques with a spear, with a rope, jumping, pole-throwing and so on. In a word, the Celtic heroes knew how to use any object, any weapon to emerge victorious. Now such skill can be found only in rare Eastern schools. Physical development was mixed with a spiritual attitude, the ability to vent energy in a battle cry, the ability to control the breath, which allowed you to control the body as it was convenient. They could go into battle practically naked and still win! They won thanks to the frenzied onslaught and fearlessness that shone in their eyes and frightened even the staunchest Roman legionnaires. It is believed that the Celts sometimes maintained their fighting ecstasy with the help of drugs.

Celtic Berserkers

The consciously evoked fighting frenzy developed among the Celts into the cult of the warrior-beast. Especially this form of combat took root among the Germans, who continued to use it even in the Middle Ages. The forces that such warriors let out of themselves were difficult to resist even an armored close formation, owning the art of proper combat. Many berserkers were called either wolves or bears, depending on which aspect of the animal the warrior took on during the battle. Bjorn and Ulf met equally in the same way. During the battle, the berserkers did not use armor and defensive weapons, or used them to intimidate the enemy, biting into the shield with their teeth, crushing the armor. They knew how to fight both with and without weapons, and did not consider it shameful to be able to fight with a fist. Stones, clubs and ropes were used as auxiliary weapons. This showed adherence to the precepts of the ancient school of martial arts. And it helped to win. A rare enemy did not hesitate at the sight of a frenzied berserker splashing with saliva, not noticing either fatigue, or wounds, or encirclement, but continuing his offensive.

Yarygs are Russian berserkers.

Ilya and Idolishche in Tsargrad

The word Yaryga, rage and the god of the sun Yarilo are of the same root. They also produce from the word - "roar" (I am a roar), in Europe the well-known distorted - "knight" - a warrior, growling in a combat trance (like a bear). In vain, the totem of Russians (and Slavs in general) is a bear, which is reflected in the coats of arms of many cities.
Initially, the word yaryga meant - a professional frantic warrior (the same as the berserk among the Scandinavians). Such lone warriors (which existed among many Indo-European peoples), thanks to their special skills, could withstand a whole enemy detachment. In a state of passion, an ardent warrior was insensitive to pain and could overcome obstacles that were inaccessible to a person in a normal emotional state.
Rykars were Ilya Muromets, Vasily Buslaev,

Vasily Buslaev

Then the word began to mean - a worthless person, a drunkard, a tramp. It is interesting that this word also means a policeman, investigator, tramp, bailiff in medieval Rus'. Also, "yaryga" in the Muscovite state meant a petty employee, but it also had a different meaning - "brisk, dodgy." Apparently, like the Japanese policemen who fought against the dominance of the samurai, the yarygs used the elements of martial arts and combat trance in their work.

Slavic-Goritskaya wrestling.

The Slavic-Goritsa struggle has nothing to do with the highlanders. This is an attempt to restore the ancient system of martial arts of the Slavs. The name of the struggle comes from the ritual fights on the burial mounds of the dead soldiers - Goritsy.
From the history of the Slavic-Goritsa struggle. The origin of the Slavic schools of martial arts dates back approximately to the 3rd-2nd centuries. BC e. In Rus', fighting traditions have a long history. At the same time, an entertaining, playing folk tradition and martial arts developed. For all their differences, there was an obvious connection between these areas: folk fun was a kind of school for the initial training of a future fighter.

The most ancient type of wrestling in Rus' - bear wrestling - is rooted in the pre-Christian era, when the bear was considered a totem animal and protector of the family. (The ritual battles held on the field were designed to drive away evil spirits from the crops.) It is believed that such types of folk competitive culture as wrestling in an armful, in a fight, in a cross, on a collar, etc. originated from the bear wrestling.

Belt wrestling, borrowed from the Turkic peoples (now recognized as an official sport), has also become widespread.

Along with the struggle, we developed different kinds fisticuffs with accentuated percussion techniques: self-to-self, crowd to crowd, wall to wall, hitch-to-dump, etc. Such a battle between the merchant Kalashnikov and the royal guardsman is beautifully described by Pushkin.

Judgment fights and betting fights (“prize” fights) were practiced in Rus'.
This system also has its own styles
Basic styles.

Radogora is a style of fighting with hands, which has absorbed the technical and tactical developments of the Slavic-Goritsa wrestling schools and other Russian fighting styles.

Podol - a style of kicking in which the arms only perform defensive functions. Ways of movement and strikes are borrowed from the battle dances of the Slavs, from the historical schools of Russian hand-to-hand combat and European martial arts (chasson, savate, puring, folderskal).

Rocker (proportional style) - a combat system in which a high rate of movement is achieved by successive strikes of arms and legs due to inertia and special plasticity, which saves the fighter's strength.

The way is a fusion of several types of struggle, combining the technical and tactical developments of the Russian historical school and special techniques for waging a total battle.

Pozem (complex combat on the ground) - a style in which creases, flips, holds, painful and suffocating actions, as well as various blows in the prone position are used.

Svilya (combat gymnastics) - a system of techniques that allows you to evade blows and captures of the enemy. It forms a special plasticity of movements in a fighter, allows you to avoid an enemy attack without excessive effort.

Heel (style of unplanned situations) - develops combat skills in specific conditions: in the dark, in cramped quarters, on slippery surfaces, with a numerical superiority of the enemy and in a limited space.

Breast - a way to organize a battle with a physically superior (in height, weight, strength) enemy.

Flexible rebuilding (anti-system) - maneuvering and tactical tricks, taking into account the stereotypical actions of the enemy using one or another type of martial arts.

"S-42" - a kind of Slavic-Goritsa wrestling, adapted to real combat conditions. Includes the most effective technical actions, a survival system, special skills, as well as ways to conduct a guerrilla war.

Firefight - fighting with the use of firearms. The system is built on the basis of pistol triathlon: head-on combat (duel shooting on the move), aimed shooting, demonstration of combat movement techniques, as well as the general principles of combat with the use of automatic weapons.

Blade fighting - a combat system based on knife triathlon (free combat, knife throwing and demonstration of military equipment in motion).

Cossacks-characterists - extraordinary warriors

All major civilizations had their elite warriors, whose abilities went beyond the usual military training and gave rise to legends about their invincibility. Be it samurai or ninja, "immortals" or Spartans, kshatriyas or Sikhs. The memory of these legendary fighters and their traditions has survived the ages and entered the myths.

The Slavic peoples also have a rich history in martial arts and are famous for their bogatyrs. But much less studied are the sacred cultural origins of their techniques and the last representatives of this line - the Cossacks-characterists.

Characteristics are extremely unusual characters even for such a motley and colorful army as the Zaporizhzhya Cossacks. They were distinguished by extraordinary vitality even in the most difficult conditions and a mocking attitude towards death and danger. In addition, typically magical attributes were attributed to the kharacterniks: the ability to turn into animals and birds, predict the future, speak, levitate, control the weather, and so on. That is why they buried the Cossacks-characterists face down, so that they would not rise from the dead (perhaps this ritual was somehow identified with the belief in ghouls and ghouls, common among the Slavic peoples).

It is especially unusual that, being representatives of the Zaporizhian Orthodox army, the kharacterniki were not completely Christians and always kept to themselves, like a secret knightly order. Like any full-fledged martial art, their tradition was based not only on technical practices, but also on the esoteric teachings of their ancestors. The basis of the original doctrine of the characterists is Vedic knowledge, supplemented by subsequent inclusions from the cultures of the steppe peoples (Polovtsy, Khazars, Pechenegs). So there was a universal combat system containing elements of survival and bioenergetic techniques.
It is believed that the emergence of characterism is associated with the development and decline of Slavic volkhvism (spiritual practices and knowledge of the Vedic plan). Priests-warriors (dates) direct forerunners of the Cossacks of the kharacterniks of the 1st millennium BC. - 1 thousand AD In the late Middle Ages, part of the knowledge of a higher order and meditative techniques were preserved. "Jesus Nun". How to get God's promised land or "sacred" genocide

"Judges of Israel". And who are the judges? or 300-year-old Blitzkrieg

The book "Judges of Israel" is short story about the 300-year period of struggle for power between the tribal leaders (knee kings) and the Levites, about the period of the life of the Jews without major Fuhrer leaders, such as Moses or Joshua, who would be able to subjugate the people and rule with an iron hand. Those who managed to seize power, or, more precisely, who were allowed to steer by the Levites, are called, embarrassingly, "judges." Note that even in the Russian translation, they are not called kings, leaders, elders or, at worst, godfathers, but “judges”. The book mainly describes the military conflicts of the Jews, who, when they were not engaged in cabals, diligently carried out the intended program - they occupied the land “promised” to them, which, although it was divided in advance between all the tribes of Israel, like the skin of an unkilled bear, however, was completely occupied yet. was not.
All the tribes fought, but not everyone had military success. For example, the tribes of Judah and Simeon, having united, defeated the army of the Canaanites and Perizzites and destroyed 10,000 people, and the tribe of Dan fought with the Amorites, but without any success - they drove the Jews to high mountains and did not allow them to descend into the valley. It can be seen that the Almighty did not keep up with looking after everyone. There have been some really annoying bugs too. So, despite the fact that "The Lord was with Judas", the inhabitants of a certain valley could not be cut out, because they had iron chariots. (Judg. 1:19) . The Bible, of course, did not indicate what kind of valley it was, how the valiant Jews fought with a tribe with “high technology” and why the Almighty was too lazy to destroy these same chariots.
And then - in general, everything went awry. Some tribes of Israel, bypassing the direct orders of Jehovah, did not "extirpate" all the inhabitants of the conquered territories, despite the fact that the Almighty intensely "hardened the hearts" of the local population. The tribe of Benjamin became famous for its shameful softness, which did not massacre all the Jebusites in Jerusalem; the tribe of Manasseh, which did not drive out the inhabitants of Bethsan (or Scythopolis), as well as the tribes of Ephraim, Zebulun, Asher and Naphtali. Instead of total destruction, the local population was taxed, and the Jews themselves began to quietly "to do evil in the sight of the Lord God of their fathers", i.e. to do what, under pain of death, a jealous God categorically forbade to do - to serve other Gods, in particular Baal and Astarte, as well as to enter into mixed marriages with the natives. Apparently, Jehovah's brilliant plan for the total elimination of indigenous tribes "on behalf of the Israelis" and the preservation of the purity of the race has failed. And all because of the fact that the executors of the plan were caught very unsuccessful, "hard", who strove to "fall away" from Jehovah and "it's wicked to follow other gods".
Briefly, the history of the Jewish tribes can be summarized as follows. Military luck was changeable, despite the "assistance" of the evil jealous man, and now it is explained in such a way that, allegedly for falling away and fornication, Jehovah periodically "betrayed" the Jews into the hands of various rulers with whom they fought. Those, of course, terribly oppressed the poor fellows who, in despair, “shouted” to Jehovah and who sent the Spirit on someone, of course, the Lord, and was appointed judge of Israel, who freed the Jews. They lived “righteously” for some time, and after the death of another judge, they began to fornicate again (it is clear that it was not at all sweet to live under the bloody leadership of the Levites). First, the Jews were betrayed into the hands of Khusarfam - the king of Mesopotamia - for 8 years. Othniel saved the Israelites and judged Israel, that is, he ruled them for 40 years. After his death, the Jews again "began to do evil in the eyes of the Lord", for which Jehovah sent them to Eglon, king of Moab for 18 years. This time, Ehud became the savior, who, bringing tribute with one hand, pierced Eglon with a sword with the other hand, and then, having gathered the sons of Israel, destroyed 10,000 Moabites. After Ehud was Samegar, who beat 600 Philistines with an ox goad.
Then, by the will of Jehovah, the Jews ended up in the hands of Jabin, the king of Canaan, for 20 years. He had 900 iron chariots, and a certain Sisera was the commander. The prophetess Deborah, who at that time was the judge of Israel and Barak from the tribe of Naphtali, gathered an army of 10,000 people (oh, how the biblical writers liked this figure). Jehovah naturally helped in the battle by the fact that "... confused Sisera and all his chariots and all his militia from the sword of Barakov" (Judg. 4:15) . The Bible sings of the feat of a woman named Jael, who knocked out Sisera's brains with a stake and a hammer when he recklessly decided to take refuge in her tent, counting on the fact that there was peace between their tribes.
Then the Jews were betrayed into the hands of the Midianites for 7 years, from which they had to climb to live in the mountains. In addition, the Midianites, and with them the Amalekites, took away all the fruits of the earth and all animals, leaving no food for the Jews. The cries of the elect reached the ears of Jehovah, who had been abandoned by them, and he sent them another judge. They became Gideon, aka Jerovaal, from the tribe of Manasseh. He spoke with the Lord, made a sacrifice to him, destroyed the altar of Baal, gathered a 32,000-strong army, and, having begged a couple of signs from the Almighty to ensure victory, moved on to the enemy. However, Jehovah did not like such a large army. He was afraid that in case of victory, the Jews would become proud and attribute all the glory to themselves. Started to weed out. The fearful and timid, of which there were 22,000, were sent back, and from the rest the worthiest were chosen, in a very peculiar way - they were forced to drink water from the river. Those who began to lap water from their hands (like dogs) fell into the category of liberators. There were 300 of them. The remaining 9,700 were sent home.
All-good, of course, personally led the operation. He sent Gideon to scout the enemy camp, where he overheard one Midianite telling another about a “fateful” dream about barley bread that rolled around the camp and hit the tent. The second - instantly interpreted the dream: death is coming to them from the sword of Gideon and from the war God. And so it happened. Brave Jewish warriors in the amount of 300 people approached the camp of the Midianites at night, of which there were 120,000 people, surrounded (!) It and with a lamp in one hand and a trumpet in the other, shouting “the sword of the Lord and the sword of Gideon!”, Sowed in the camp the enemy so panicked that they killed themselves. Some, however, managed to escape, but they were caught and destroyed.
This is the art of war! This is God's help! 300 versus 120,000. Even the ninja turtles fly like plywood over Jerusalem. Or is this a slight exaggeration of the biblical writers? Zero, or even two or three, more, zero less: what's the difference?
Another famous judge was Abimelech, the son of Gideon, who became famous for having killed 70 of his paternal brothers and ruled over the Jews for 3 years, until a fragment of a millstone fell on his head and broke his skull. One of the judges of Israel was Jephthah, the son of a harlot. Although, according to the law of Moses, he could not be a judge. "The son of a harlot cannot enter into the company of the Lord, and the tenth generation cannot enter into the society of the Lord" (Deut. 23:2) . But this one could! He fought the Ammonites and made a vow to the Lord that, in case of victory, he would burn the first person he met on the altar. First out of the gates of the city was his own daughter! Jehovah was so pleased to receive this sacrifice that he did not stop Jephthah, as he once did Abraham. Jephthah burned his own daughter on the altar for Jehovah! And yet, the fame of this judge was added by the inter-generational conflict, in which he destroyed 42,000 lisping Ephraimites (Judg. 12: 5-6).
After Jephthah, there were several more judges, known mainly by the number of their offspring (60-40 people each). The most delicious figure in the Book of Judges is Judge Samson, who judged Israel for 20 years. He became famous not for "valiant" military campaigns, not for a large number of exterminated Gentiles, and not even for the duration of his reign, but exclusively for his bad strength (the one in which there is no mind at all). Samson was “immaculately” conceived by a Jewish woman from the Angel of the Lord (under the mask of which Jehovah often appeared) and was ordained a Nazarite (servant of God). Therefore, Samson was categorically not recommended to cut his hair, eat unclean things and drink alcoholic drinks. However, he did not become a minister, because he violated all the recommendations of the Almighty dad.
Burning with divine hatred for the Gentiles, he devoted his whole life to the eradication of the uncircumcised Philistines in every possible way. Among his "great feats" are the following: he beat them with a fresh donkey's jaw, destroying 1000 people, set fire to their field very original way: he caught 300 foxes, tied them in pairs and inserted torches between their tails, and also tore off the city gates and dragged them to the top of the mountain. Looking for an opportunity to take revenge on his hated enemies, he was twice married to Philistine women. And failed twice. Through the fault of his first wife, he, having let slip, lost the bet. And for his talkative tongue in his second marriage he paid with strength, freedom and life itself. The beautiful Delilah cut off his hair, thereby depriving him of Jehovah's strength and protection, and earning a little living for herself.
The last thing Samson did (according to the scenario of the biblical writers, inexhaustible in fantasy) was already, being blinded, strained himself and brought down a huge house, which, apparently in the fashion of that time, was built on two hefty pillars (well, of course, it’s more convenient to live than just on the ground!). And he accomplished this "feat", exactly when the hosts, completely recklessly, sat down to dinner with the invited guests. Yes, and for this table indecency, watched from the roof of the same house, no more, no less, 3,000 spectators !!! Of course, the spectators were carefully counted before they were allowed to climb onto the roof - apparently, they already guessed that this "feat" would be immortalized in the "sacred" book for "prepared" readers who would not even be surprised at this "heroic" action, born in whose something sick and inflamed brain.
This “sacred” book ends with another, very peculiar story, “carefully and truthfully” recorded by biblical writers. A certain Levite with his concubine, by the will of fate, ended up in a city called Gibeah, located on the territory of the tribe of Venaminov. As soon as he stopped for the night in one of the houses, the depraved inhabitants of the city, consumed by the thirst for “knowledge” of the essence of this traveler, laid siege to the house of the hospitable host and demanded to extradite the guest (we already went through this with Lot and the “angels” in the bike about Sodom and Gomorrah) . In return, they were offered and given the immaculate daughter of the owner of the house and the guest's concubine (apparently, this was a normal phenomenon among the Jews). What happened to the owner's daughter, the Bible is silent about, but the concubine was not lucky. They mocked her all night and she died under the threshold of the house. Seeing such a thing, the Levite cut the body of the woman into 12 parts and sent them to her knees, apparently as an invitation card to the arrow.
Gathered a general meeting. The tribe of Venaminov was ordered to hand over the wicked for execution. But they refused. And then 26,700 people (what accuracy in accounting !!!) from the Venemin tribe went to war against 400,000 (!!!) people of Israel. And they lost. Only 600 people were saved (what an account! Again they knew that they would go to the Bible!!!). And the Israelites swore not to give their daughters to the sons of Benjamin. But then, of course, they came to their senses. After all, a whole tribe of Israel is wasted not for a pinch of tobacco. Then they decided to help them get their own wives. And they helped, and in a very original way. In that tribe, which was not on the general oath, men and women were slaughtered, leaving only virgins. There were 400 of them. The missing ones were advised to steal from Shiloh. And this disgrace was created, allegedly for one reason only: “In those days Israel had no king; everyone did what he thought was right" (Judg. 21:25) .

conclusions
1. The first thing that strikes in the Book of Judges of Israel is the absolute absence of any mention of the creative work of the chosen people during these 300 years! How did they live? Judging by the Bible, they wandered, multiplied and killed. They killed and robbed a lot (how could it be otherwise?), willingly multiplied and moved to new places that had not yet been devastated by them. If someone had already lived where they went, they immediately found convincing pretexts and justifications for mass murder (now it is called foreign word "genocide" - something is wrong with the genes?!). And so - 300 years! Although, this is not the first and not the last of their 300-year-old.
2. This time, the Book of Books has outdone itself in terms of inconsistencies, absurdities, exaggerations, and downright, plain lies. Recall some, um ... "oddities":
The book of Joshua (Joshua 21:43-45) says that Jehovah kept all his promises. And he gave the land, and destroyed all the enemies, and provided peace. However, we see a completely opposite picture in the book of Judges - solid wars.
The number of Canaanites, Perizzites and Ammonites exterminated at different times was exactly 10,000!? An ox horn and a fresh donkey's jaw were used as weapons of mass destruction!? Fantastic Jewish victories by incomprehensible means. Gideon vs. Midian: 300 vs. 120,000!?
Incredible in its idiocy, the story of setting fire to the field with the help of foxes. Couldn't you just throw a torch on the field? The most fantastic is the last feat of Samson - the collapse of the Philistine "Palace of Congresses".
3. Jehovah, once again, is presented as a liar, a scoundrel, a traitor, a bloody murderer and a petty tyrant, whose ways are indeed very inscrutable. Why is Jehovah so intransigent towards other “Gods”? Why is he so knocking with his legs and drooling, as if he is not God, but an ordinary epileptic? Why does God have such animal fear? And who, after all, is he so afraid of that he beats his own people with mortal combat for any, even the slightest disobedience? “The Lord sent robbers against them and raised up judges who saved them from the robbers”. If the "loving God" did not send robbers, then there would be no need for judges. Jehovah did not disdain the help of "barbarian kings" so that they would thoroughly oppress the obstinate as punishment for fornication with other Gods (let's not forget that the Bible gives such an explanation).
As the supreme rulers, naturally, by the will of Jehovah (Levites?), turned out to be very odious personalities. For example, the fratricide Abimelech; former robber, murderer of his own daughter and 42,000 other Jewish brothers, Jephthah; and later sung in a cinematograph and cast in bronze Samson, in comparison with which the wooden Pinocchio is the embodiment of universal wisdom. Jehovah did not think to stop the massacre of 42,000 Jews from the tribe of Ephraim. But the sons of his chosen people perished. Also, not content with just calves and lambs, he "allowed" to bring him human sacrifice .
4. The “sacred” deeds of the ancestors of the Jews, sung by the Bible, leave a very depressing impression. It turns out that other peoples existed solely to serve the various purposes of the chosen people. The increased “hardening of the heart” of the local population by Jehovah was undertaken in order for them to resist and give the Jews a pretext and “legal justification” for massacre: “... for it was from the Lord that they hardened their hearts and met Israel with war - so that they would be given over to the curse and that there would be no mercy for them, but that they would be destroyed as the Lord commanded Moses” (Joshua 11:20) . When, due to the fault of the elect, total extermination did not work out, Jehovah graciously decided to give life to some peoples, but not just like that - their life and fate, it turns out, according to the Bible, should have served exclusively propaganda purposes: to exist, allegedly, as a test of the Jews on loyalty to Jehovah, and be a teaching material for future Jewish warriors in future wars (Judg. 3:1-4) . Betrayal and meanness (the murder of the Moabite king while presenting gifts to the military commander who asked for asylum) is considered a virtue and is sung in songs. The Spirit of God descends on the son of God - Samson and he kills 30 innocent people to pay for the lost dispute.
5. Last story The book evokes mixed feelings. On the one hand, this is an obvious internecine war, which, of course, is being waged for power. They have nothing else to fight for: everything else they get during predatory wars on the side. On the other hand, the primitivism and even stupidity of the invented explanation, shamelessly torn from the first book of Moses (the story of Sodom and Gomorrah), is completely surprising, most likely calculated on the fact that no one will read this text. So, you can get by with this nonsense. The absolutely cynical statement of biblical writers, which serves as a justification for the theft of the Shiloh virgins, is immensely outrageous: “... and when their fathers or their brothers come with a complaint to us, we will say to them: forgive us for them, for we did not take a wife for each of them in the war, and you did not give them; now you are guilty" (Judg. 21:22) .
6. Having become acquainted with the next opus from the “sacred and true” Book of Books, we again ask ourselves questions. What is so sacred, truthful, and even more so, wise, we have learned? Have we managed to take at least a small step towards enlightenment with knowledge? Why, for many years, have we taken the word of those who read the Bible “with rapture” and “found” in it bottomless wells of great wisdom and inspiration? Why didn’t we notice before, and even now we don’t notice the absolute mediocrity and even primitiveness of the biblical writings and the complete dullness and illiteracy of the biblical writers who created this?
Are we all already zombified, like the Jews a few thousand (or hundreds) years ago? For what purpose have we been imposed for hundreds of years, often even with fire and sword, the Bible, in which we find only deceit, meanness, envy, jealousy, cruelty and murder???

"1 Kings". How the Jews chose the king or a guide for a novice racketeer

"2 Kings". Who came up with the Holocaust or "sacred" methods of holding power

The "Second Book of Kings" continues to acquaint us with the unconditionally "sacred" facts of the biography of the second Jewish king - the former shepherd David, with his no less "sacred" methods of ascending the throne and ruling. The previous book ended with David and his gang in political exile in the land of the Philistines. While they were going about their business - robbery - King Saul fought. As a result of the war, Saul and his three sons, including David's love, Jonathan, died in the battle with the Philistines. David and his henchmen, on this occasion, tore their clothes, wept and fasted, right up to the evening. The messenger who brought the fatal news along with the royal crown and bracelet and boasted that he himself had killed Saul, David ordered to send after the dead king. This is not the first time David has shown the value of the life of God's anointed one. I wonder where a simple shepherd has such views. Did you care about your future otherwise? The country split into two camps - Judea and Israel. David ruled Judea, with capital at Hebron, for 7 years. Israel was formally ruled by the fourth son of Saul, who had come from nowhere, Iyobostheus, enthroned by the commander of the late king, Abner.
Abner and David were constantly at enmity with each other. In one of the battles, Abner, unwillingly, killed Asael, one of the three brothers who faithfully served David when he was the ataman of the gang. The other two, Joab and Abishai, became blood enemies of the Israeli commander. In Israel, in fact, Abner was the ruler. Feeling like a sovereign master, he took one of the concubines of the deceased Saul. This was probably out of the ordinary, since even the timid Jebostheus, having overcome his fear, expressed his displeasure in a very sharp form. Offended, Abner swore that he would take the kingdom from the house of Saul and give it to David. Fulfilling the threat, he sent messengers to David with an offer of peace. And he did not forget about himself - he asked for a place, almost a co-ruler. David agreed, but on one condition - the princess Michal, his first wife, would be returned to him. Jebosheth had to take his sister away from her lawful husband and send her to an extortionist. Michal was not particularly needed by David, however, in the struggle for power, David used everyone and everything.
Abner, having enlisted the support of the Israelite elders, came to David with a delegation. The deal was concluded, they feasted, and Abner departed for reprisals against Ievosheth. However, as you know, he did not go far. Joab caught up with him and stabbed him, avenging his brother's death. Hearing of this, David immediately declared himself innocent of the blood of Abner and brought down a bunch of curses on Joab's head. As usual, the clothes were torn, they voted, and also fasted until the evening. And how was the murderer of the peaceful ambassador punished? But no way. Joab remained at the head of David's army. In this case, David's innocence is in question. It is highly doubtful that the elimination of the first persons of a hostile state took place, at least, without the approval, and even not by direct order of the king. In other words, David simply dealt with Abner, who had become his companion, with the hands of Joab, and then, even hypocritically, wept over his coffin. However, the people, for whom this whole performance with a mourning fast was designed, simply adored such a noble and pious king. Falsity and hypocrisy remained behind the scenes.
On the way to the throne of the united kingdom, Ijebostheus alone stood. Left alone, without a commander, he was completely defenseless. He was dealt with by two leaders of his own army. And the head, hoping for a reward, was brought to David. However, they miscalculated. Because these two killed "an innocent man in his house, on his bed", they were quartered and hung. The “noble” words and actions of David could be taken at face value if the death of the legitimate king Jebosheth had not been so beneficial to him. The very scene of the murder of King Jebosheth is also very remarkable. They killed him in his sleep, during a siesta, that is, in broad daylight. From the protection of the king was a gatekeeper who cleaned the wheat. It turns out that the king slept not in the royal mansions, but in some kind of barn, where the killers went, supposedly to take wheat. They also killed the gatekeeper and ran away, and then returned and cut off the head of the king. Later, with a severed head, they went to David. And no one stopped them. Yes, and why is it, you never know who roams to the king in the barn in broad daylight. As a result, David began to rule the united state. He decided to move the capital to Jerusalem. It remains only to expel from it its indigenous inhabitants - the Jebusites, who lived there from time immemorial. Jerusalem was taken, and for the mockery of the Jebusites over their army, they say, our weak lame and blind will chase you, David ordered to kill all the lame and blind. Offended hefty. “... Therefore it is said: the blind and the lame will not enter the house of the Lord.” (2 Kings 5:8) Very merciful, a vivid evidence of love for one's neighbor.
The Philistines periodically fought with David. He defeated them in several battles, naturally consulting with Jehovah before each battle, and he prompted whether to attack the enemy from the rear or from the front. For more convenient communication with the Almighty, David decided to transport Jehovah's Ark to the capital. However, he was not sure how he would react to the transportation, especially since one of the sons of the high priests died during the move. Jehovah did not like that the boy touched the ark, holding it so that it would not fall. Therefore, cautious David decided to play it safe and expose the other to the possible wrath of God. He left the ark with a certain Abeddar. Three months later, nothing happened to him, moreover, "The Lord blessed the house of Abeddar." The ark was brought to Jerusalem. On this occasion, unheard-of celebrations were thrown. And the king himself naked jumped and danced before the Lord that Michal even made a remark to the king, so to speak, "about the costume." However, "taken from the flock of sheep" was ready to do anything for conferring the title of "leader of Israel." "Humiliating, I rise." David conquered the Philistines and Moabites. Most of these peoples were exterminated. The number of people to be destroyed was measured with ropes. “And he smote the Moabites, and measured them with a rope, laying them on the ground; and measured out two ropes for killing, and one rope for keeping alive ... ". (2 Sam. 8:2) .
In addition, David subjugated Syria and Idumea and forced them to pay tribute. War booty flowed to Jerusalem: gold, silver, copper. He also fought with the Ammonites. And dealt with them very cruelly. “And the people that were in it, he brought out and put them under the saws, under the iron threshing machines, under the iron axes, and threw them into the kilns. So he did to all the cities of the Ammonites…” (2 Sam. 12:31) . But, the Ammonites and Moabites, as the descendants of Lot, Abraham's nephew, were also Semites, so to speak, brothers, but worshiped only other Gods.
Interestingly, Joab invited David to take the Ammonite city of Rabbah David. He sent a messenger to David asking him to hurry before the city fell. Because, in this case, all the glory will go not to the king, but to him, Joab. (2 Kings 12:27-28) And the king hastened and entered the city at the head of the army. So David accomplished "great deeds." By the way, about attributing great feats to the king. A certain Elnakhan, the son of Yagare-Orgim of Bethlehem, killed Goliath the Gethite, "whose spear shaft was like a weaver's navoi." (2 Samuel 21:19) . David, at the dawn of his career, also fought with a certain Goliath from Gath, who also had a spear shaft, like a weaver's bow (1 Samuel 17: 4-7). Interesting, right? Undoubtedly, the biblical writers lied somewhere? Where?
David dealt cruelly not only with external, but also with internal enemies. Almost the entire race of Saul, with the exception of the lame son Jonathan, and all his entourage were exterminated. The frail Mephibosheth did not pose a danger to David, so it was generously decided to leave him alive. It seems to be in memory of the oath that David once gave to his beloved friend Jonathan. Saul's descendant received land, slaves, and a place at the royal table, which at the same time allowed David to keep him under constant supervision. Being engaged in strengthening the throne and expanding the borders, David, however, did not forget about his personal life. Once, while walking along the roof of the royal house, in a neighboring courtyard he saw a bathing woman (you can see the royal chambers were still the same). He liked her and sent servants to take her. Everything would be fine, but she was the wife of Uriah the Hittite, a devoted and responsible military man who fought alongside Jobab. While the husband was risking his life for the king, the king was having fun with his wife. And had fun. Bathsheba got pregnant.
A scandal was brewing. The king, of course, in theory, could sleep with whomever he pleased - both with Bathsheba and Uriah, moreover, at the same time. However, firstly, according to the Law of Moses, lovers must be put to death. Secondly, the military served as the backbone of his power and it was not known how they would react to the humiliation of one of them, even from the side of the king. David makes a desperate attempt to save the situation - he did not want to spoil his carefully created image, and jokes are bad with the military. He calls Uria, supposedly to get acquainted with the situation at the front, gets him soldered and hopes that he will immediately run home to his wife and her pregnancy will be legal. But it was not there. You see, it was inconvenient for a devoted martinet to rest on featherbeds when his comrades-in-arms were in the field. David's plan failed. Then he sends Uriah with a letter to Jobab, where he orders the horned man to be placed on the most dangerous site. Uriah is dead. At the end of the mourning, David took Bathsheba into his harem. The born child died on the 7th day, allegedly for the crime committed by David. However, David soon comforted Bathsheba again, and she bore him a son - Solomon. The sons of David, seeing before them a worthy example to follow, acted accordingly. The eldest Amnon raped his sister Tamar (David's daughter from another wife), and then hated her. And he had nothing.
However, Absalom, Tamar's brother, harbored a grudge and was looking for an opportunity to pay off the rapist. Two years later, he threw a sheep-shearing party, where he invited all his brothers. During the feast, Absalom's servants killed Amnon. Absalom, fleeing the wrath of David, fled. Three years later, the king forgave him, he returned and began to weave intrigues against his father (a worthy son!). With a few henchmen, Absalom rode into Hebron and proclaimed himself king. David suddenly became afraid of something and rushed from Jerusalem on the chaise longue, leaving his harem "for keeping the house", but simply to the mercy of fate. Absalom entered the capital. However, he made several mistakes and succumbed to the influence of elder Husiah, who pretended to betray David. But in fact, he was left to find out the plans of the conspirators and upset them. Ultimately, the plot was crushed, and Absalom was killed by Joab. After the death of Absalom, Jerusalem continued to remain in the hands of the conspirators, led by Amesai, the new commander in chief. However, this time, David did not blunder. He sent a messenger to Amesai with a dispatch in which he swore that he would put him in command in place of Joab. (2 Sam. 19:13) And Amesai pecked. The first thing David did when he returned to the capital was to punish his wives and concubines, who did not keep his house and allowed Absalom to enter them. He put them under lock and key and ignored them until their death. And with Amesai, as usual, Joab dealt with - stabbed him. A faithful companion, without words, understood the wishes of the king.
Then there was an attack - hunger for 3 years. Jehovah whispered to David that all evil comes from the bloodthirsty house of Saul, who somehow wanted (only wanted!) to exterminate the Gibeonites. The Gibeonites are those Amorites who, not wanting to be slaughtered by the army of Joshua, tricked him into swearing that he would let them live. Saul, of course, was not required to follow this oath. However, nowhere in the Bible is there any mention of Saul's intentions towards these people. So, supposedly now, 40 years after the reign of Saul, they came to David and began to demand from him the death of the surviving descendants of Saul for some imaginary sins against them. David urgently granted their request - 7 people of Saul's descendants were hanged. The situation is quite fantastic. Why did the Jewish king suddenly run skipping to fulfill the wishes of some Amorites, who were not even Semites? It's just that David, following his long tradition, used (or invented) any excuse to remove enemies. So he "made judgment and justice." Now we also have an idea of what “truth” David did and what we can learn from him…

conclusions
1. This time, the "Holy Scripture" told us, among other things, how to achieve power and keep it. For this, it is very appropriate to use such “God-sanctified” methods as deceit, betrayal, and murder. A newcomer in power circles is encouraged to find strong allies, conclude a cooperation agreement with them, and then eliminate them (example with Avenir and Amesai). It is also desirable to get rid of everyone who can claim a place, or keep them under control (Mephibosheth and 7 hanged grandsons of Saul). All this information about the life and charitable activities of the Jewish kings would not concern us in any way if they remained just myths about the life of the ancient Jews. However, they were included in the "sacred book" for half of the world's population, a book on which people swear to tell the "truth and nothing but the truth", on which the presidents of many countries swear. I wonder if this mockery was specially invented by someone, or did it “accidentally” happen that way?
2. The Bible writes about the moral inferiority and criminality of Jewish kings and their offspring in quite ordinary, tedious and soporific language, as if accustoming us to the fact that everything is allowed to them, and Jehovah is so simply thrilled by this. The king's son raped his sister and abandoned her, the crowned father recaptured his wife from the war hero, violating the Moses commandment "Do not desire ...", and sent himself to death; another son craved power and he conspired against his own father, from whom he learned all this. It is so ordinary and even boring that it is told that thousands and thousands of innocent civilians were killed by Jews: children, women, men and old people, and even cattle. And all this - with the tacit approval and by order of the "all-loving" and "all-forgiving" sadist Jehovah. Well, isn't that idiotic? And the presidents and heads of governments of many countries also swear on this! Or maybe they just know well what they swear on and what oaths on the Bible are worth? By the way, David's associates all over the world are multiplying diligent followers.
3. It's funny that the Bible is the primary source of such "sacred" deeds as racket And holocaust . And they were all accomplished not by some bandit and bloody sadist, but by the “great” Jewish king David. It is his sign in the form of a six-pointed star that his followers wear on their chests. By the way, the holocaust is a Greek word meaning sacrifice among the ancient Jews, in which the victim was completely devoured by fire. We found the first mention of this sacred and charitable work in ... the Bible. It turns out that the truth is, whoever shouts “stop the thief” the loudest, he, quite possibly, is not entirely sincere.
4. The Bible and Christianity very stubbornly introduce a slave psychology into the consciousness of man. All Christians are servants of God, and since all power is from God, then the slaves belong to the authorities! So… don't judge me too hard. “And Mephibosheth bowed down and said: what is your servant, that you have regard for such a dead dog as me?” (2 Sam. 9:8) . This is said by one representative of the royal family to another representative. Can you imagine monkey? Even if the color of the nation - the aristocracy - despicable slaves, dead dogs, then ... what can ordinary people be brought to?
5. For some reason, it seems that with the Bible we are all very much cheated! This book, which does not contain any wisdom at all (in the understanding of normal people, and not of thieves, murderers and sadists), does not at all fit the role of a sacred book, and even quite the opposite. She is quite Not holy book; written at one time for completely different beings, who were not allowed along the path of the movement of all mankind, but were sent to cross it.

"3rd Book of Kings". Attraction of unprecedented wisdom or what is the "holiness" of the prophet Elijah

"The Third Book of Kings" completes our acquaintance with the treacherous King David and tells the story of who took his place. King David ruled the Jews for 40 years. In old age, he fell ill - he still could not warm himself. So that the vicar of Jehovah on earth would not knock out his last teeth, shaking from the cold, a living heating pad was found for him. A certain Abishag the Sunamite. The beautiful girl both served and followed the king, but he could not recognize her. In general, David got worn out at hard work. Seeing this, the fourth son of David - Adonijah was preparing to sit in his father's place. He, after the death of the brothers Amnon and Absalom (nothing is known about the second son of David - Daluia), had a legal right to the throne. He was supported by very influential people of the state - the military leader Joab and the high priest Abiathar. However, a certain priest Zadok, the prophet Nathan and other “strong Davids”, as well as the beloved wife of Bathsheba, made a small palace coup and convinced the decrepit David to bypass the legitimate heir and put Solomon, the seventh (!) son, at the head of the kingdom.
Solomon was anointed to the kingdom, and David was preparing to appear before the Almighty. Before his death, he asked Solomon to "act according to wisdom" and punish Joab, his faithful, but too independent commander - for the death of Abner and Amesai - as well as a certain Semey, who somehow called him a murderer and lawless person. Incredibly, even with one foot in the grave, David was in his repertoire - he tried to remove objectionable employees with the wrong hands, even if it were the hands of his own son. However, the son did not mind, especially since it was in his interests to get rid of Joab, a very influential person in the court of David, who, moreover, supported Adonijah.
Here Solomon followed the example of his father and chose a certain Vanei, the son of Jodaev, for the role of executioner. Finding an insignificant reason (Adonijah asked for a heating pad Abishag), Solomon ordered Vanya to get rid of his brother, although he promised that not a single hair would fall from his head, and from the commander Joab. Joab was slaughtered right in the sanctuary, despite the fact that he grabbed the horns of the altar. It was a terrible sin - the law forbade killing at the altar, so as not to defile the sanctuary. However, Jehovah did not react in any way to this obvious violation and did not punish Vanei for sacrilege, although he used to punish him with death for less (2 Sam. 6:6-7), and the new king even appointed him commander in chief. Thanks to the continuous wars of the previous kings Saul and David, Solomon inherited a very vast country - "from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines and to the borders of Egypt." In addition, the Almighty also favored the newly anointed. Once he appeared to Solomon and offered gifts to choose from. The modest king, "a small boy", asked for a reasonable heart. Jehovah liked this, and he gave Solomon a mind that no one ever had and never will have.
Here, most likely, the Bible writers pretty much overdid it. Of course, it is clear that our king is the most, the most ... However, it seems that the rumors about the exorbitant wisdom of Solomon are slightly exaggerated. As an illustration of incarnate wisdom, the Bible gives the following incident. Two harlots (!!) easily came to the king (!) who did not share one child, and Solomon proposed a Solomon solution - cut the child in half and distribute the halves to the arguing ladies (1 Kings 3:16-27). The real mother, of course, agreed to give up her child, if only she would remain alive. And the wise Solomon immediately realized to whom the child belongs by right. This unprecedented episode, according to biblical writers, was to convince everyone of the deepest wisdom of King Solomon. However, the only thing he convinces the thinking reader of is the primitivism, artificiality and far-fetchedness of the described episode.
In fact, the quick wit and intelligence (or maybe just laziness) is evidenced by the fact that Solomon understood that he did not need to fight. He preferred to make trade alliances and pay off commercial debts with his cities (1 Kings 9:10-11). Peace has come to Israel. Trade developed at a rapid pace. Every year, the treasury was successfully replenished from taxes and tribute paid to Israel by the conquered peoples. Everything was so peaceful and festive that even silver depreciated so much that it became equivalent to ordinary stones. And although "Judah and Israel, numerous as the sand of the sea, ate, drank and rejoiced," in reality, the life of the Jews was not all that sweet. Solomon decided to build a temple to Jehovah, a palace for himself, and also to surround Jerusalem with a fortress wall. This required a huge number of workers. The remnants of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites were turned into quitrent workers (1 Kings 9:20-21).
On the free Jews, the king imposed a duty in the amount of 30,000 people (1 Kings 5:13). He sent them to logging in Lebanon to cut cedar. The work was so hard that they had to work on a rotational basis - teams of 10,000 people were replaced every three months. In addition, Solomon employed 70,000 weight-bearers and 80,000 masons. The Bible gives detailed description temple built by Solomon to Jehovah in Jerusalem. The structure (60x20x30 cubits) was richly decorated, both outside and inside. A huge amount of gold, silver and copper went into its decoration.
Among the decorations of the temple there were several very controversial things, from the point of view of the Mosaic laws. Two cherubs, ten cubits each, with two wings, five cubits each (however, how they looked was not described - a strange omission of biblical writers). Two pillar-statues with their own names: Jachin and Boaz (not otherwise than idols?). A cast copper sea of unknown purpose was supported by 12 calves. Oxen, lions and cherubs were depicted on copper stands. The temple also kept a banner with a copper serpent, strengthened by Moses (Numbers 21:9). All this is very contrary to the second commandment. “You shall not make for yourself an idol or any image of what is in the sky above, and what is on the earth below, and what is in the water below the earth” (Ex. 20:4) . It can be seen that the Mosaic commandments were very creakingly introduced into the minds of the “hard” Jews, even 500 years after the exodus and bloody taming in the desert.
Having worked gloriously for the good of the fatherland, Solomon did not forget about himself. And he had 700 wives and 300 concubines (an additional burden on taxpayers). Moreover, they were foreigners, most of them were those of whom it was said “Do not enter into them, and they do not enter into you, lest they incline your hearts to their Gods”. Moreover, the vile strangers inclined his heart to foreign Gods, he set up a temple for them according to their faith, and he himself began to serve both Astarte and Asa, the son of Abijah. Loyal service to Jehovah. He even deprived his mother of the title of queen and personally cut down the idol of Astarte belonging to her. Had sore legs. Jehoshaphat, son of Asa, ruled for 25 years.
Jeroboam ruled Israel for 22 years. Turned away from Jehovah. He set up two calves, set up temples for idols. His son Navat ruled for 2 years. Jehovah did not celebrate. He was overthrown by the conspirator Vaasa, who exterminated the entire family of Jeroboam "according to the word of the Lord." However, he himself did not honor Jehovah. Ila, son of Baasha. Reigned for 2 years. Annoyed Jehovah by disobedience. He died as a result of a conspiracy of the commander Zamri, who again "according to the word of the Lord" exterminated the entire family of Vaasa. Ruled 7 days. He was defeated by his rival Ombriy. He burned down in the palace, which he himself set on fire. Omri reigned for 6 years. He did wrong before Jehovah. After him, his son Ahab reigned for 22 years. This pagan king, along with his wife Jezebel, who exterminated the prophets of Jehovah, especially annoyed God.
Jehovah had only one prophet Elijah, who was fed by ravens with meat and bread. The glory of the prophet - the lord of rain and the healer of the lifeless - grew. Jehovah ordered Elijah to go and “show himself to Ahab.” To resolve the dispute, who, whom and with what Gods confuses, Elijah ordered (?!) Ahab to gather on the hill 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of oak forests (it turns out that then the poor prophets allowed themselves to order the kings, and they rushed with all their might to fulfill their prophetic commands ).
Elijah suggested a competition. Each of the groups had to take a calf, put it on firewood, but not set it on fire, but appeal to their God. The God who answers with fire is the coolest. In the end, of course, Jehovah won, sending fire that devoured everything: calves, water, stones, and dust. Baal was put to shame. His servants, naturally false prophets, were to be destroyed. Elijah carried out the sentence with his own hand (!) - stabbed 450 Baal prophets. The Bible is silent about what happened to the 400 oak prophets. However, we doubt that Iliev’s hand was “tired of stabbing” and, most likely, he finished off the rest the next day.
Such were God's people and works back then...

conclusions
1. The Bible repeatedly extols the much-lauded wisdom of Solomon. However, these statements are not supported by any factual material. The episode with the "wise" resolution of the dispute between two prostitutes cannot be taken seriously. In addition, it causes more bewilderment and new questions than approval and understanding. The only place where we saw the wisdom of King Solomon is his peaceful policy and the economic prosperity of the Jewish kingdom. However, so little information is devoted to this in the text that it becomes clear that this wisdom was not at all dear to the hearts of biblical writers.
2. But in the "sacred" book it is described in detail how to deceive your neighbor and appropriate his property. For example, if you really wanted to get a neighboring vineyard, and the owner refuses to give it away for nothing, you just need to hire two false witnesses who would say that the owner blasphemed God and the king. The owner of the vineyard will be stoned to death. Further, as a sign of grief, you need to tear your clothes, put on sackcloth and ... take possession of property (1 Kings 21:1-16).
3. Nothing worldly was foreign to the prophets of Jehovah. Continuing the ancient tradition begun by Moses, "God's people" adored the mass extermination of the public for the glory of the Almighty. A special piquancy of the situation was given by the fact that, in the biblical examples, as a rule, non-believers were exterminated (for example, 450 Baal prophets). The bloody imposition of the cult of Jehovah served as an excellent example of the method of spreading the Christian faith: fire, sword, and all other "sacred methods."
4. The Bible is very emphatic in explaining all the successes and failures of the Jewish kings solely as adherence to or falling away from Jehovah. However, after carefully reviewing the line of Israelite and Jewish kings, we notice that Jehovah is absolutely Not punished those who served other Gods, and those who faithfully served him were practically not encouraged in any way. For example, Solomon, who later fell away from Jehovah, reigned very successfully for 40 years, and his great-grandson Asa, who faithfully served Jehovah, also ruled for 40 years, but suffered from leg disease, and the Lord did not heal him for his devotion. The kings of Israel are generally completely mired in "abomination." And if Vaasa exterminated the entire family of Jeroboam, allegedly for falling away from the true faith, then the conspirator himself, who sat on the throne, wanted to spit on it (faith). However, he reigned without problems for 24 years.
Not only could Jehovah not be able to get the true faith from the leaders of the state, he could not even protect his own house built for him by Solomon - the Egyptian king Susakim during the reign of Solomon's son Rehoboam, raked out all the treasures from there, along the way taking the treasures of the palace. However, sometimes he was pierced, and, having gathered all his strength, he “helped” the elect (even if only on the pages of the Bible) - 7,000 Israelis hit 100,000 Syrians, and those who fled were crushed by a wall. Yes, all the 27,000 remaining Syrians diligently and compactly huddled under one special wall and patiently waited for it to crush them all (otherwise there would be nothing to write in the Bible).
5. In general, we once again became convinced that the ways and actions of the biblical tribal God turned out to be so inscrutable that they raise very strong doubts about the sanity of the biblical writers and editors of this book. In addition, another logical question arises: are we normal, seriously believing in all this nonsense?

Bible. dilapidated and New testaments. Synodal translation. Bible Encyclopedia..

And the earth rested for forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died” (Judg. 3:11). “After his death, the situation of the Israelites worsened again due to the newly ensuing period of anarchy, and since they turned away from worship of God and completely ceased to obey the laws, their affairs went from bad to worse, so that the Moabite king Eglon, who noticed their internal troubles, went to war against them. He succeeded in defeating them in several battles, making them give up any idea of independence, completely crushing their forces and imposing a significant tribute on them. Then he built himself a palace in Jericho, began to oppress the people in every way, and in the course of eighteen years brought them to final ruin. [Flavius. Decree. op. T. 1. Book 5. Chapter 4, 1. S. 236]. So, in the new terrible misfortune that befell them, the Israelites themselves were to blame. King Eglon captures them not so much thanks to the strength of his weapons, but thanks to the troubles and splits that began among the Israelites themselves. Moreover, their political instability was a direct consequence of the violation God's Law. The book of Proverbs reveals one of the universal mechanisms civil war , rigorously working in any society and in any time period. “When a country departs from the law, then there are many rulers in it” (Prov. 28:2). Violation of God's commandments - do not kill, do not covet, do not steal - leads to a criminal crisis. Violation of the commandments - do not commit adultery, honor your father and mother - to the crisis of the institution of the family. Violation of the commandment - do not bear false witness - to a judicial crisis, and violation of "do not make yourself an idol" - to disrespect the One God, and desecration of the Sabbath - to the loss of spiritual values that society should be guided by. As a result, the necessary prerequisites are created for a complex crisis covering all aspects of society. Moreover, it is impossible to cure it with human materialistic methods. For how to understand what is good and what is bad, what is possible and what is impossible, if God is lost, and with Him - the system of spiritual values, the moral law. Today we live in a similar time when the world is trying to resolve the global crisis with economic, social and other programs. But how can this be done if there is open propaganda of depravity, alcoholism, cruelty. Why can't you steal when you can commit adultery? And why is it necessary to treat the authorities with respect, if God can be disrespected, trampling on His Authority by breaking the Sabbath? Society cannot be healthy without spiritually healthy families and individuals. A similar spiritual crisis, which preceded the conquest of Israel by Eglon, we had in 1917, when dark forces ruled at the royal court, the intelligentsia reveled in the occult, the people partly formally went to church, partly lived worshiping Mammon, and partly prepared to build a society through class fight. England experienced the same under Cromwell, and France - during the revolution of 1789, and Spain during the time of General Franco. Therefore, it was not difficult for King Eglon to subdue the people who were going through a similar crisis. The second mechanism of what happened to Israel is revealed to us by the Book of Judges. “The children of Israel again began to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, and the Lord strengthened Eglon, king of Moab, against the Israelites, because they did evil in the eyes of the Lord” (Judges 3:12). At first glance, amazing! God strengthens the heathen Eglon against His own people. "Where is God's love," many will exclaim! But to this amazing biblical statement, the human exclamation will be even more surprised, for the answer is that God's love is precisely this. It is that God strengthens Eglon, allowing him to subdue the people of Israel. The fact is that the main goal of the Lord is the salvation of man. But often we do not respond to God's love, preferring to go our own way, to our own destruction. We are walking so confidently that we do not pay attention to God's various calls to stop at all. And then the Lord is forced to stop us with the help of those methods that our sinful nature will understand. And therefore He, at times, allows such Eglons to appear in our lives. Further, this verse shows that the Lord of history is God, and nothing happens without His will. This does not mean that everything that happens in our world, He approves. Of course not. But at the same time, He allows, at times, a lot, firstly, because evil becomes a choice for many people, and Christ does not force a person’s will, and secondly, in order to stop a person on his disastrous path through the admission of various problems, and thus, through temporal suffering, save him for eternal life. And, finally, it is no coincidence that it was Eglon who became the conqueror of Israel. The fact is that the Bible (Judg. 3:17) and ancient chronicles emphasize the extraordinary obesity of the king, the reason for which was intemperance in food, bliss and entertainment that this ruler had. The vast majority of the rulers of antiquity were warriors who directly led the troops and participated in battles. But this Moabite king preferred a hearty meal and sleep. And therefore, with his body weight, of course, it was difficult for him to move. Eglon indulged his carnal nature. But Israel of that time behaved in exactly the same way. Above, we have already seen how a quiet life for pleasure led to the fact that the Jews abandoned the mission destined for them by God Himself to cleanse Canaan from sin, to crush the corrupted peoples. But instead, the Israelites themselves soon became as carnal as other Canaanites. They became spiritually obese. And obesity in the Bible is one of the symbols of sin. Thus, describing the sinfulness of the people, Jeremiah says: “They have become obese, fat, they have even crossed every measure in evil, they do not examine court cases, the cases of orphans; prosper, and the just cause of the poor is not judged” (Jer. 5:28). Speaking of the wicked, King David compares them to fat calves. “Many calves surrounded me; the fat ones of Bashan surrounded me” (Ps. 21:13). God punishes this spiritual obesity. “The wrath of God has come upon them, and killed their fat ones” (Ps. 77:31). “Therefore, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will send stunting on his fat ones, and among his famous ones he will kindle a flame like a flame of fire” (Is. 10:16). This same spiritual fatness will accompany many of those in our day who identify themselves with God's church and of whom Christ says: but you do not know that you are wretched, and wretched, and poor, and blind, and naked” (Rev. 4:17). Spiritual obesity is self-satisfaction, self-sufficiency, it is the worship of the cult of carnal desires and lusts. Gradually, this carnal person kills the spiritual in us, and we become carnal people. Obesity envelops our mind, thoughts, heart. We are covered with spiritual fat, become dumb and spiritually degenerate. As long as this “fat man” lives and rules in us, we will never see freedom. Obese people always sleep a lot, and we will spiritually doze off in the same way, not noticing the signs of the time in which we live. And then the time of the Second Coming of Christ will approach unnoticed by us, and we will be among those unprepared for it. And again the children of Israel remembered God. “Then the children of Israel cried out to the Lord” (Judg. 3:15). “In Jericho, there lived a certain young man from the tribe of Benjamin, named Ehud, the son of Gir, who was distinguished by great courage, courage and enterprise along with extraordinary physical strength, which was especially in his left hand, with which he acted better than his right. He was Eglon's own man, as he managed to attract the latter's favorable attention with various gifts and small services, as a result of which all those around the king were friendly towards him. One day, accompanied by two servants, he carried gifts to the king. Secretly, he tied a sword to his right thigh under his clothes and thus entered the king. It was in the summer, at noon, when the guards, partly because of the intense heat, partly being busy with dinner, sent their service rather sluggishly. Having handed gifts to Eglon, who was in the summer pavilion, the young man entered into a lengthy conversation with him. They were alone in the room, because the king, so that there were no witnesses during their pastime, ordered the servants to leave. Since he was sitting on the throne, Judas was afraid that he might miss and deal a non-lethal blow. So he urged the king to get up from his seat, saying that he had, by the command of God, to inform him of the dream he had had. When the king, rejoicing at hearing the details of this dream, jumped off his throne, Judas plunged a sword into his heart, did not remove it from the corpse, but quickly left, locking the door behind him. Meanwhile, the king's servants were dozing, believing that their master had fallen asleep. In the meantime, Judas immediately informed the inhabitants of Jericho about what had happened and began to persuade them to regain their freedom. They learned about this with pleasure, immediately took up arms and sent messengers throughout the country, who were supposed to blow their horns, as was ordained to convene the whole people in an assembly. Meanwhile, those close to Eglon remained in the dark about the misfortune that befell them. When evening came, they, in fear that something had happened to the king, broke into the pavilion and, finding a corpse there, stood for a long time in complete stupor. But before the whole guard could be assembled, a crowd of Israelites had already attacked them, so that some were killed right there on the spot, while others fled towards the land of Moab, seeking salvation there. The last number was more than ten thousand. However, the Israelites managed to take the ford of the Jordan in advance; therefore they beat many of the enemy during the pursuit, and then still more near the river, so that not one of them escaped death here. In this way, the Jews were freed from the Moabite yoke, but Judas was honored by the people for this by the fact that he was wholly entrusted with the management of the people. He used this power for eighty years, after which he died, being a man who deserved praise and in addition to the above deed. [Flavius. Decree. op. T. 1. Book 5. Chapter 4. S. 236-237]. So, Israel, throwing off their spiritual obesity, overthrew the fat king Eglon, who tormented them for 18 years. And have we overthrown that stout king who, perhaps, not only lives, but wholly reigns in our hearts? Isn't the obese king Eglon ruling us? Have we not been swamped with spiritual obesity that has closed our minds, hearts and eyes? We still have a little time to overthrow this sinister fat king, before he completely destroys us.
