Adhesives

On which the world will be presented with a new Xbox (either 720, or Durango, or Infinity, or Fusion). Like all of our colleagues, we will be watching the broadcast and replenishing this post with diamonds from the treasury of our thought (don't thank). It’s hard not to mention that Sony has played a trick on Microsoft: under the announcement of a new "box", the Japanese are promoting the hashtag "ps4" on Twitter and publish own console teaser videos. An interesting thing about the new Xbox said Peter "I no longer work at Microsoft" Molyneux: "While the new Xbox is exciting, it is not as exciting as the Xbox 360, which burst onto the gaming scene just over seven years ago." What characterizes Peter is that his company, 22 Cans, has just entered into an agreement with major mobile publisher DeNA to release the Godus simulator on iOS and Android devices, which was raised on Kickstarter. Oh humanity!

Thought for quick reflection before the presentation: Steve Ballmer is the best candidate for the role of Vladimir Harkonnen in the remake of the movie "Dune" (which is necessary for the people, otherwise this drug addict David Lynch is not clear). Returning to the presentation itself, we are waiting on the stage for Blizzard representatives with the announcement of Titan Diablo III for the new Xbox. (And Ballmer looks like G'Kar from Babylon 5.)

Blablabla, MS promises to change entertainment forever and promises everyone a relationship with their TVs. Cliff Blesinski, J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg confirm.

Ahaha, the new console is called Xbox one... It lies on its side and feeds from the clouds. MS's answer to the PS4 share button is the ability to watch trends (what people are playing). Xbox One can be controlled by voice commands ("Xbox, watch TV!"). The console will be multitasking (e.g. you can watch the Star Trek Into Darkness trailer and buy tickets). It is somewhat embarrassing that the Xbox One is similar to the very first Xbox, not only in name, but also in appearance.

And here's the Xbox One controller.

Group Skype calls on TV are interesting, but… 8GB of RAM, 8-core 64-bit processor, 500GB disk, Blu-Ray, USB 3.0; three operating systems (non-Windows for the Internet, the operating system for games and the operating system that connects them). Each Xbox One will ship with a new Kinect system that senses movement strength, joint rotation (shoulder and wrist) and heart rate.

MS officials say Xbox Live is "reinvented": instead of 15,000 servers that support XBL for the X360, there will be 300,000 for Xbox One. Everything can be stored in the "clouds".

Andrew Wilson from Electronic Arts was brought in. He revealed that EA and MS have started a new strategic partnership and that NBA Live, FIFA, Madden (soccer) and UFC (wrestling) will be released on Xbox One. EA was not at the PS4 launch; really exclusive?

Onstage is Phil Spencer, MS in charge of games. Shows Forza Motorsport 5 (launch title). She is beautiful, landscapes are reflected in the windows of cars.

On stage there are people from the Finnish studio Remedy (Alan Wake). They represent Quantum Break, a narrative-driven game. In a half-game, half-film, there is a girl who knows how to bend space-time. But she's not as pretty as Elizabeth. And younger. But she can accidentally dry cargo ship. Entirely.

Microsoft Studios in the first year after the launch of Xbox One will release 15 exclusives for it (8 of them are new IPs).

Spielberg was shown at the beginning for a reason: he with 343 Industries will issue a television series on Halo with live actors. (Probably cooler than Forward Into Dawn.) Oh, here comes the MS lady says Halo The Television Series will be a first-class product.

Eric Hirschberg of Activision is on stage. He talks about Call of Duty: Ghosts. New storytelling, new engine. The game is played with a sack, the movements of which were taken from a live sack (from the Navy S.E.A.L., which is not a horseradish).

The Ghosts will be a super-elite squad of America, which at the beginning of the game is heavily pissed off (sorry). The game will have beautiful smoke over beautiful water, and under water fish will swim away from the fighters. In multiplayer, there will be character customization and dynamic maps (rolling logs, floods, etc.). Hirschberg & Co showed how much better the graphics of Ghosts are than those of Modern Warfare 3 (the stigma in the ear of the sack!). Jungle Ghosts are reminiscent of Crysis 3.

22:02 The event ended at this point. Thanks for attention!

22:00 In the end, the developers showed an impressive comparison of the graphics level from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Ghosts. And then a trailer was launched, completely executed on the game engine.

21:59 The developers talked in detail about the process of creating graphics, objects, characters and animation - all these attributes will be brought to a new, previously inaccessible level. The multiplayer mode was also revised by adding a dynamic environment. But despite all the innovations, the emphasis will remain on the gameplay, which brought success to the previous games in the series.

21:55 At the very end, a demo of the next generation game from the popular Call of Duty: Ghosts series was shown, presented by the CEO of Activision Publishing Eric Hirshberg (Eric Hirshberg). She will receive a new engine and is being developed by the studio Infinity Ward. All downloadable add-ons for the game will initially be available exclusively for Xbox One.

21:53 Finally, Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will launch in many countries around the world towards the end of this year.

21:50 Xbox Entertainment Studios also announced a partnership with the NFL American Football League, which will provide the opportunity to watch live matches.

21:48 Bonnie Ross of 343 industries said Halo is no longer just a game. One of the ways to expand the Halo universe will be a new television series, in the creation of which director Steven Spielberg will participate.

21:47 Then we talked again about television. Xbox Entertainment Studios head Nancy Tellem, who previously worked at CBS and Warner Bros., said that until now, television has been like a one-way street for viewers, but that will change: users will get best recommendations and completely new social features.

21:43 There are tons of other games in development - more than ever in Xbox history. Microsoft Studios alone will release 15 exclusive titles in the console's first year, 8 of which will be brand new series.

21:42 Another playable demo was provided by Remedy, the creator of Max Payne and Alan Wake. The game will be called Quantum Break.

21:39 Then Phil Spencer of Microsoft Studios came onstage to talk about the company's own projects. He said the Xbox One opens up entirely new possibilities for game developers and has unveiled the first exclusive, Forza Motorsport 5, which will be available immediately upon launch. The graphics in the game are excellent.

21:36 The game demos are really impressive in detail.

21:35 A sweeping single-player deal with Electronic Arts has been announced - EA Sports will be bringing 4 Xbox One games to the table over the next 12 months: FIFA, Madden NFL, NBA Live and UFC. Of course, everyone will be revolutionary.

21:33. The multiplayer experience has also been improved. While waiting for a connection to the server, you can start a single-player game.

21:31 The Xbox Live service has been significantly improved. On the first day, 15 thousand servers will be available, and in total Xbox One will receive more than 300 thousand servers. The cloud will store music, games, movies and saves. There was a built-in ability to record gameplay, as well as a video editor.

21:27 Kinect is now the console's control center. It recognizes not only the user, but also the controller, the movement of which can be used to control in games.

21:26 The Kinect sensor will now ship with every Xbox. Voice functions have become more interactive and adapt to each user. The wide-angle camera has received 1080p resolution and is capable of capturing video at 30 frames / s. Kinect can capture even light movements of the wrists and even read heart rate readings.

21:25 New controllergot 40 design changes, improved ergonomics, new dynamic impulse triggers, a precision D-pad, integrated battery and Wi-Fi Direct support.

21:24 The appearance of the controllers has also been updated, but the continuity of the generations is felt.

21:23 Another thing is even more interesting: the software part consists of three operating systems: the first is the Xbox OS, the second is Windows, and the third combines both OSs for instant switching and multitasking. No waiting - you can switch to the game as quickly as to the next TV channel.

21:22 The platform is based on an 8-core processor based on 5 billion transistors and is equipped with 8 GB of system memory, 500 GB hard drive and is equipped with USB 3.0, Wi-Fi Direct, Blu-ray, 802.11n, HDMI in / out communication.

21:21 Marc Whitten, general manager of Xbox Live, took the stage. Let's hope he talks about the specs.

21:19 The Xbox One Guide section brings together Favorites, Popular, and My Channels. The Chosen One contains only TV shows and films, but not channels.

21:18 The integration of Windows Phone through Smart Glass technology has become even deeper: the smartphone can be used as a remote control, an additional screen while watching programs, games, and so on.

21:16 Thus, navigation, search, movie selection and so on are carried out. It took almost no time to launch the built-in browser. The "Snap mode" mode has appeared, which resembles the split screen in Windows 8.Skype for Xbox was introduced, with which you can make group video calls directly from your TV.

21:13 A company representative said "Xbox on", after which the console and TV turned on and the user was authenticated. The main screen of the platform resembles a mixture of the old Xbox interface and the Windows 8 touch interface on a black background.

21:11 So, the name of the new product is Xbox One. Also presented were the updated game controller and Kinect motion capture sensor. In the new set-top box, Microsoft focuses on the versatility of this home entertainment solution at the presentation. Games have not received much attention yet.

21:09 So, the novelty is presented! Microsoft's new console will be called Xbox One!

21:06 The company first touched on the history of the Xbox a bit. Xbox Live, Xbox 360 and the HD gaming era. It seems that the previous console is not going anywhere and is still an important platform for Microsoft: at E3, the company will talk more about the future of this console. For the new Xbox, the challenge was to design and build a universal system, solving the problem excess devices in living rooms.

21:05 Microsoft is going to take full advantage of cloud services, making games and television more advanced.

21:03 Don Mattrick took the stage and said that Microsoft has been working on the new console for the past several years, and this is an important day for her.The company said it is going to change the entertainment industry forever. Are we ready for this? Microsoft decided for the first time to implement a dialogue between the viewer and his TV viewer.

21:00 So the presentation has begun!

20:50 The countdown has started on the official Microsoft website. Less than 10 minutes left before the start of the presentation.

20:43 So, only a few minutes are left before the start of the conference, the audience takes their seats. The press gathered under a large canopy at the football stadium on the Microsoft campus. Around - the inscriptions "A new generation is presented." We are waiting for the beginning to the disturbing music.

Determined not to repeat the mistakes made in the past generation of gaming consoles, Sony hastened to introduce the PlayStation 4 to its rival. Today we will find out what Microsoft has prepared in response. Will the new platform be based on the core of Windows 8 and how tight will the integration be? What are the requirements for internet connection? Finally, what are the specs and is the Kinect 2 worth the wait for the new Xbox? We should learn all this and much more very soon. You can watch the live broadcast in English on the official website, but we will try to promptly provide a translation of the main points.

May 21, the face was finally determined gaming industry for the next 5-10 years. On this day, Microsoft presented its new console. The platform, dubbed Xbox One, is the latest of three eighth generation consoles to hit the market.

The Xbox developers did not reveal their cards all the way - they presented their new console just before E3. The gala event at which the Xbox One was first shown took place three months after the PS4 presentation and almost two years later than Nintendo presented the Wii U. Lenta.ru decided to figure out what the next generation of consoles has in store for us and how we will live further.

Xbox one

Microsoft decided to show the new gaming platform at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington. In addition to the journalists gathered in the presentation room, everyone could follow the premiere of the console: the event was broadcast live on the Internet, including on the Xbox Live service, where it was watched by the owners of Xbox 360.

This presentation by Microsoft was radically different from similar events of the company in previous years: on the stage of May 21 there were neither musical numbers of fashionable rappers, nor joyful children galloping to the music in the next game for Kinect (however, Microsoft probably saved all this for E3). The Xbox One premiere lasted only an hour and was as discreet and calm as possible.

The main emphasis of the top managers of Microsoft, who showed the world a new product of the corporation, did the fact that Xbox One is designed to become a single center of home entertainment. The presentation began with a demonstration of the name, appearance of the console and its technical characteristics... The latter turned out to be approximately identical to the stuffing of the PlayStation 4: 8 gigabytes of RAM, an 8-core central processor, a 500 gigabyte hard drive, USB 3.0 ports, Wi-Fi and an HDMI port. The set-top box has an improved Kinect sensor, which has learned to track user's movements and voice much more accurately and has become an integral part of the platform. All Xbox One functions can be controlled with gestures and voice - a natural development of ideas laid down by the first Kinect on the Xbox 360.

After the official presentation of the new console and a short message about what was inside it, the story began not about games, but about services.

In fact, Xbox One turns any TV into a smart-TV "pumped" to the limit: here and multitasking, and the ability to control media content, and, in fact, watching TV, and chatting during all this on Skype. This is not to mention all kinds of sports services, most of which, however, are intended exclusively for the North American market.

The orientation of the presentation in the service part specifically to the United States caused, let's say, the indignation of a significant part of gamers, including Russian ones. Especially for them, we will explain that the United States for Microsoft is the number one market in priority, and the “scarce” services that provoked discontent, or rather their analogues, are in many countries. Their absence in Russia is not so much Microsoft's fault as local content providers who are simply unable to provide similar services.

It was television, films and serials that were given a significant share of the presentation time. In addition to showcasing services for viewing and selecting programs and films based on the tastes of the Xbox Live audience, a television series based on the Halo universe was presented, which will be directed by Steven Spielberg.

Briefly, it was told about the changes in the gaming component of the Xbox platform. Searching for matches in one game will be carried out while you are playing another, all "achievements" (Achievements) and player profiles in Xbox Live will migrate to the new platform without loss. Friends list will be increased from 100 to 1000 people; in addition, the number of servers supporting the operation of Xbox Live will be significantly increased.

Games were shown a little: Microsoft clearly saves all the trump cards for E3. All that were unveiled on May 21 were four multi-platform sports games from EA with some exclusive content for Xbox One and two exclusives (Forza Motorsport 5 from Turn 10 and Quantum Break from Remedy, creators of Alan Wake and Max Payne). Also at the Xbox One presentation, the world premiere of the new Call of Duty: Ghosts took place. The developers boasted of the new engine (which, however, looks worse than the current Battlefield 4 engine). Finally, Microsoft promised that in the first year after the release of the console for Xbox One, 15 exclusive projects will be released, including 8 completely new (not sequels).

The future of the Xbox One became a little clearer after the presentation, when Microsoft representatives began to answer questions from journalists. The biggest concerns were related to two features of the Xbox One: linking games to accounts and rumors about requiring a constant connection to the network. Here's what became known about it after the presentation.

On Xbox One, games will require installation to a hard drive. After that, the projects will be linked to the user account, and you can run them without a disk, at any time. Here, many players, especially in the United States, where the secondary market for games is thriving, has many questions. Will games be resellable? Will it be possible to take a disc from a friend for a couple of days and, without spending money, play? There are no clear answers to these questions yet. Microsoft limited itself to assurances that some kind of solution for the secondary market of games will be invented.

As for the mandatory connection to the network, everything is not clear here either. It was said that a permanent internet connection would not be required to use the Xbox One; whether the player is constantly online or not, the game developers will decide. At the same time, Kotaku, in an interview with Microsoft, found out that for the Xbox One to work, it will need to be connected to the network at least once a day - the rest of the time the console can be disconnected from the Internet. In addition, some games will need a network connection for additional computing - this is where a permanent connection is welcome.

In any case, the Xbox One presentation left about an equal number of questions and answers - and, of course, caused a wave of indignation in certain corners of the Internet. Some gamers wondered why, instead of long trailers of beautiful games on new-generation engines, they were shown the multimedia functions of the console, forgetting that less than three weeks were left before E3, and that Microsoft needed to demonstrate something there as well. Obviously, on May 21 in Redmond, the Xbox One team made only a statement of intent, and the real battle of exclusives, business plans, prices and other small joys of changing the generation of consoles starts on June 10, when the big press conferences of Sony and Microsoft will take place.

Eighth generation

In addition to the traditional increase in console performance that accompanies each update of generations of consoles, the eighth generation has a number of significant ideological differences from its predecessor platforms.

No disks needed: By the eighth generation, gaming systems were fully prepared for all existing methods of content distribution: both classic games on discs and digital distribution. A pioneer in this field for a long time was Microsoft. In the mid-2000s, the Xbox Live Arcade was created, which initially planned to sell small trinket games weighing no more than a hundred megabytes. A few years later, the ideology of XBLA, and the Xbox network services themselves, have changed a lot - now in the Arcade category you can find full-fledged games like Virtua Fighter 5: FS or Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

By the late 2000s, Sony had managed to take over from Microsoft. Digital versions of "boxed" games were available for purchase on Xbox Live and were available for sale months after release. Sony began selling games in a digital store at the same time as boxed versions. It took Microsoft several years to switch to a similar sales model - and for the first time, as an experiment, it was used in Russia at the start of sales of Gears of War: Judgment.

Nintendo, which confidently led the seventh generation in sales of consoles, on the other hand, could not boast of a wealth of network options. Despite the fact that the store selling old games has been at the disposal of Wii owners for several years, Nintendo was in no hurry to engage in full-fledged online trading. This only changed with the release of Wii U in late 2012.

The clouds: Console cloud services learned to use in one form or another at the turn of the last generation of consoles. For example, the PS3 supported the Folding @ Home project, which connected consoles into a single network and was used for distributed computing.

Microsoft used cloud technology only for data storage: at the end of 2011, Xbox Live users received half a gigabyte of cloud storage space to save games and other data. Obviously, if Microsoft does not abandon the idea implemented for the Xbox 360, the amount of cloud storage will increase significantly in the future (and, which is also possible, it will not be free at all). Xbox One will also use cloud computing in games: judging by the statements made during the presentation, thanks to these technologies, the new console from Microsoft will, for example, support more players in multiplayer matches.

Sony specifically for its new console bought the Gaikai service (which later became the PlayStation Cloud). But she intends to use it primarily for emulating games for previous consoles and for enhanced interaction of her new console with the PS Vita.

Please touch: Console makers have not come to a consensus on how best to manage games in the coming years. Instead, they proposed two very different approaches. Sony and Nintendo voted for touch surfaces: the Wii U has a screen, while the PS4 has a small space on the front of the DualShock 4 controller.

Microsoft did not add anything like this to the Xbox One controller. Instead, the manufacturer relied on voice and gestures. Its new console understands complex voice commands (almost like Siri) and can respond to passes with your hands. The idea is tempting, but it remains unclear how successfully the new controller will “make friends” with the languages \u200b\u200bof the world: as you know, Kinect 1.0 refused to understand commands, for example, in Russian.

Without a single break: On the question of whether consoles need a constant connection to the Internet, the three manufacturers also did not agree. Wii U and PS4 do not require an Internet connection by default (this decision largely remains with the game developers), while the Xbox One will need a network - however, it seems that the console will only ask to connect to it once a day.

Old and beloved: There is no agreement between Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft on whether consoles need backward compatibility with games and accessories for the previous generation. Xbox One, for example, was denied it: due to the difference in architecture, the console will not be "friends" with either games or controllers for the previous generation.

Sony found a compromise: it has backward compatibility, but all old games will be played only from the "cloud", and they will have to be bought again. Accessories will also not be supported by all: for example, Move will work fine with both the old console and the new one, but the DualShock 3 will have to be sent to the trash heap. Only Wii U will have full backward compatibility.

Played - show: Manufacturers have long been trying to make consoles a full-fledged access point to social networks: back in the PS3 and Xbox 360, their creators added the ability to surf the Internet and leave notes on Facebook and Twitter. No one has really succeeded in this yet: whatever one may say, but without a keyboard, this occupation is painful and boring, so smartphones and tablets have not yet been able to get around the set-top boxes.

Pirate VictoryPS3 was the only one of the three main consoles of the previous generation that, thanks to its architecture, successfully resisted piracy. However, this also had a downside: it was more difficult to develop games for it, and additions, updates and patches invariably turned into a terrible hassle for both studios and players.

Obviously, the Japanese manufacturer has learned a lesson: the architecture of the PS4 will be closer to the PC, which will make it easier to release content on the console, and - alas - its hacking. Therefore, it is obvious that in the coming years, all three consoles will be flashed with equal success.

The creators of the Xbox One have not yet talked about anti-piracy protection (apart from the constant connection to the Internet), but it is obvious that Microsoft is not going to leave the door for torrent lovers open. Let's hope Microsoft's third pancake is edible; the protection of the Xbox and Xbox 360 did not last long.

Show your phone: Microsoft and Sony decided to expand their integration with mobile devices in a united impulse: both companies announced similar applications for iOS and Android. Both the brand new PlayStation App and SmartGlass (already available, by the way, for the Xbox 360) allow you to remotely control consoles, and also turn mobile devices into a second screen where you can read in-game books or view maps.

Nintendo chose not to outsource these services: it has a touchscreen gamepad in charge of all these functions.

Games

Sony, whose latest console gained popularity largely thanks to interesting exclusives, did not show itself in any way with the PS4. Of those games that are now being developed for the new console, the only interesting one is the new inFamous, while the rest (new Killzone, DriveClub, and so on) cause more confusion than a desire to buy a console.

At the Xbox One presentation, we repeat, little was said about games, but these words were promising. Hope is inspired by the games not shown on May 21, but the very promise of 15 exclusives in the first year of the console's existence. In addition, all the most anticipated multiplatform projects of late 2013 - early 2014 should be released on both PS4 and Xbox One: Battlefield 4, Call of Duty 10, and a number of other games with indecent numbers in their titles.

With the Wii U released in 2012, things are much worse: even Nintendo's most prolific partner, Ubisoft, decided that one exclusive for the console would be enough, and released only ZombiU on it. And the expected platformer Rayman Legends decided to port it to the Xbox 360 and PS3 and therefore postponed it until the fall, provoking the reasonable anger of fans.

After looking at how things are going on the new Nintendo console (sales are worse than the older Xbox 360 and PS3), publisher EA ditched it. First, it changed its mind about making the Wii U-version of the Frostbite 3 engine (it is on its basis that new parts of such franchises as Dragon Age and Battlefield are created), and then curtailed the development of FIFA 14 for Wii U. Like, the last release of the football simulator sold so poorly on this the platform that porting the next to it does not make any sense.

Summer will show

The situation with the 8th generation of consoles, minus the small details, repeats what we could see in 2005-2006 at the dawn of the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. Nintendo's console is, as always, well behind the competition in performance and will struggle for the lead with fancy controllers and housewives.

The forces of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are equal at this stage. Both platforms are practically similar in performance. Both platforms will actively use cloud services and develop ideas from the past generation.

The main thing that can be said already now is that the winner in the upcoming race will be determined not so much by the hardware and performance of the cars as by the services and ideology. And, of course, games.

Date of publication: 05/22/2013 17:48:15

On May 21, the long-awaited event took place - the presentation of the new generation console from Microsoft... Emotions after the show just overwhelmed the gaming community. Incredible, unforgettable, excellent, chic, fantastic, excellent, phenomenal, great, cool - these words must have been heard from all offices of direct competitors Melkosoftacompanies Sony, whose shares have added 10% in price in a matter of hours. Unlike the happiness of the inventors of the CD, the emotions of the other audience were not so happy, though no less expressive. A few words about how, or rather what it was.

Like the moon.

First of all, the coveted device is called the Xbox One. This does not mean that the 0.7 and 0.8 versions of the console have been delivered to users so far. The fact is that the console is expanding its capabilities and is going to become a single multimedia device for a player who will watch TV programs, movies, listen to music on it, and, well, Bill Gates is not joking, sometimes playing games. We'll talk about the announcements of advanced developments a little later, but for now - about the main thing. At the very least, the presentation format implies that this is the main thing.

The appearance of the console reflects the essence of time and trends. Microsoft has long flirted with straight chopped lines in its products, meeting the demands of modern tastes. These requirements did not pass by the game multimedia console from the authors of the Ventures. The rather impressive dimensions of the box are easy to explain: modern cooling systems are not small things, but, after all, we are talking about a modern console. The controller remained practically unchanged, apparently, the developer believes that he has already reached the ideal in its development. Network. In an amicable way, the Internet must be connected to Xbox one permanently, but the authors allow users to turn it off occasionally. At the same time, the players say goodbye to the connection to the boxed cloud, with all that it implies: imperceptible downloading of updates, both for games and for the console itself, and broad social functions.

Like all modern TVs, you can watch movies and TV shows on Xbox One. Moreover, choose tapes or series as you wish, just like on the IP-TV and Smart-TV systems of modern TVs. Like modern TVs, you can listen to music on Xbox One. Like modern TVs, the Xbox One can go online. No joke, but with Xbox One you will finally become the proud owner of a device that supports the use of Skype! Well, like all modern TVs. The question is, do they know Microsoft the fact that some users prefer to use the console along with this very TV, which has been able to do all this for a long time, remains open.

But the American developer is far from being a fool, and knows that the time has come for serious innovations. With the release of Xbox One, terrible times will sink into oblivion when, to visit the Internet or watch programs and movies on TV, unhappy people had to press buttons on the remote control, or, what good, lift any part of their body from the couch. In order in no way to prevent such a fatal turn of events, the authors of the console endowed it with a voice control function. Whether you're torn about what's more important to you, watching the latest porn movie or talking to your parents, Xbox One will solve your problems. You are free to use the built-in Skype while watching a movie. That's not all: shifting to the side the live broadcast from the cockroach race on TV, right there on the Internet you are free to familiarize yourself with the standings, find out which of the cockroaches is the most productive this season, and immediately place a bet on it in the totalizator. In general, the Internet will become closer to you than ever. Unless, of course, you have a telephone or a modern TV.

Technosila of the game world.

The coveted box caught up in the development of the PS3, equipping the new device with an optical Blu-ray drive, and rushed into the distance: eight cores on an AMD-made processor, very similar to the one previously presented in the PS4, 500 GB on the built-in hard drive and 8 gigabytes of RAM. True, if the early press releases do not lie, and this memory turns out to be really DDR3, competition with the fourth version of the console from Sony will be greatly complicated by a similar circumstance. Don't let the volume of the built-in hard drive scare you: the HDD cannot be expanded, but any third-party drive can be connected via USB 3.0. The built-in Kinect module promises a powerful camera (1080p, 30 fps) that will track in detail all the movements of the player. Face and voice identification included. 300 thousand servers will be happy to accept user-recorded video content, and every Xbox One owner will be able to become the author of popular letplays.

As soon as, while watching a meditatively boring presentation, thoughts began to creep into my head that Microsoft forgot that her clients, among other things, on game consoles They also play games, like rain on the parched earth, announcements of advanced projects began to pour onto the console. True, the rare drops of this rain would not have collected even a glass of water.

The lineup of sports games topped with a showcase of American football showed not a breakthrough, but a breakthrough in visualization. The differences between the sports games of the new and old generation consoles are barely greater than the differences between the evolution of a title on one console of the seventh kind. During the American football demonstration, nap-fighting residents of other countries nudged their friends to sleep from watching.

The guys managed to diversify and very refresh the world: war dogs have been added to the game. Otherwise, everything is the same, however, how many players, so many opinions, is it good or bad. The best moments of the video sequence, performed in a new-wonder-advanced-engine, lose in graphic performance even in the third version. We can only hope that the demo shots were not the best.

I watched the presentation for 20 minutes and turned it off. I couldn't even stand the games. Well, about the prefix - everything goes fine. As I said, not a PC will become a console, but a console will become a PC, but in a more convenient size. And this opinion is not my personal, but some analysts of the gaming world, I just read their arguments and arguments completely agreed and there were no contradictions. And now, their theoretical arguments are once again confirmed by the practically release of this box. So you can't complain, just say "shut up and take my money". I'm sure the PS4 is also moving towards this, developing social capabilities such as PlayStation Network and cloud services (Gaikai). True, they are not as deeply rooted as MS with the ubiquitous OS, Skype, etc.

Today the official presentation of the new generation Xbox was held; millions of gamers around the world were eagerly awaiting its appearance. This gaming computer can be updated at least every year, the console is bought for several years. This means that a large number of innovations and a good technological reserve for the future are expected from it. Let not all expectations come true, the presentation was rich and interesting, but first things first.

At the beginning of the event, Don Mattrick took the stage. Traditionally, the presentation began with a lengthy discussion of the purpose of the new product, which will appear in a few minutes, and a brief overview of the success of the previous model. But she is about to turn into a pumpkin.

Microsoft released Xbox 360, Kinect and Live to provide users with the most advanced entertainment technology. Time runs, and now it's time to present new developments. Something that will change the usual idea of \u200b\u200bspending time in the living room, and at the same time emphasize that the TV is the main screen in the house.

Xbox One? Degradation after 360 turns out ...

Over the past few years, the usual look of the living room has changed a lot thanks to all kinds of devices. But they are too complex and fragmented, so you need to imagine a device that can combine television, games and entertainment. With these words and a short video, the presentation of the long-awaited "next gen" - Xbox One began.

Phew, showed! - the audience exhaled with relief. And then you never know ...

Great slogan: "All Your Entertainment All In One"

While all eyes were on the novelty, the question hung in the air: what will the next next gen be called?

Presentation without a Hindu - mauvais ton

Yusuf Mehdi took the stage, and from this moment all the fun begins. Xbox One has many features that will make it easier to use the console. For example, voice recognition and gesture control are all as it should be in the second decade of the 21st century. The phrase "Xbox, On" will turn on the console in the same state as before it was turned off.

Interestingly, the prefix will understand our native "yo mi spik from may hart?"

But the console not only turns on by voice. Most actions are carried out by commands, for example "Xbox, Watch TV" will turn on the television. For this control model, Instant Switching technology was developed - switching between games, movies, music and television occurs instantly. So much so that it looks suspicious.

Copes with two tasks at the same time

Another new feature for next gen is Snap mode. Without looking up from a movie or TV show, you can call up a small window to view additional information about athletes, actors, or Skype conversation. A smartphone can act as a companion, with its help it is more convenient to manage content on the side panel.

Happy on the other side of the planet

We paid a lot of attention to watching TV, for example, Xbox Guide - a program with recommendations, trends and favorites. But it's easy to guess that this feature will be marked "US Only", which means that most gamers are not interested. Especially in Russia.

Mark Whitten was next on stage. He is responsible for the technical component of the Xbox, and talked about this. The new set-top box received a powerful filling, now it uses 5 billion transistors and 8 GB of RAM, a 500 GB drive is installed, and among other characteristics are USB 3.0, Wi-Fi Direct, Blu-Ray, 802.11N, HDMI in / out.

The third "operating system" without a name, without a logo

For the best experience, Xbox One uses three oS... Xbox, Windows, and a layer that brings together services is responsible for multitasking and instant switching between applications.

Dismantled joystick - iFixit was deprived of work

The controllers received the update. The joystick boasts four dozen changes, improved design and more realistic response to actions.

The new Kinect in four pictures

Kinect captures more player movement for maximum responsiveness and realism. By the way, now it comes bundled with a prefix. No options.

Not without software innovations. Even if the set-top box did not become completely cloudy, and the Blu-Ray inscription flaunts on the case, some of the calculations were sent to the company's servers. The Live service has been improved, now its work is provided not by 15, but by 300 thousand servers. Part of the content has moved to the cloud, game replays are sent there and dynamically changing achievements are calculated. The increased number of servers will also allow for larger-scale online battles with more players.

Everyone told about the console, so it's time to talk about games. Andrew Wilsom from EA, the main game partner, was brought on stage. EA Sports will release four games specifically for One: Fifa 14, NBA 14, NFL 14, UFC 14.

Game skeleton

The guy below is clearly surprised by this turn of events.

Of course, the new items will be with "next gen" graphics, on the new EA Sports Ingnite engine. In addition to stunning detail, it will provide the most realistic game due to the reaction speed of virtual opponents, imitation of human behavior and instincts. It will use four times the computation per second for this, but it's worth it. At least judging by the promotional materials.

Microsoft's gaming division is also working on new products for the console. Phil Spencer revealed that they are investing heavily in studios to provide as many games as possible. Thanks to this, in the first year, a dozen and a half exclusive games will be presented, eight of them on new franchises.

Detailing is great, but don't forget that this is a trailer

No, this is not next gen graphics

For the seed, the Forza Motor Sport 5, which will be available at launch, and the Quantum Breack from Remedy judge were shown. It's difficult to make an impression on the two short trailers, only very high detail is striking. But once they said "it will be cool" - let's take their word for it.

Next in line is Nancy Tell with another conversation about content, mainly "US Only". Yes, Microsoft has won an exclusive deal with the NFL, so Xbox One owners and sports fans will get a lot of nice bonuses.

Spielberg did not come, but the fee worked out with a video message. And thanks for that

And after billions of hours of playing Halo, the Redmondites decided to team up with Steven Spielberg and launch a television series based on the popular game. Surely it will get to Russia, perhaps not officially.

And according to rumors, in October and for 500 euros

The official part ended with a solemn promise to start selling the console "later this year". The price is not known.

But early to disperse, Eric Hirschberg took the stage with a closing speech about Call of Duty: Ghosts - one of the most anticipated games, albeit not exclusive to Xbox One.

The game will receive a new engine, thanks to which the graphics will be incomparably better than the previous generation. Gorgeous dynamic light, smoke, realistic textures and character movements - all this awaits players in the new Call of Duty game.

The developers promise a new storyline, characters and even dogs that will "interact in a new way." Apparently, also participate in battles. In multiplayer, maps with dynamically changing terrain and customization of player models will appear.
