The first new feature, Arena, is a tournament feature that allows you to launch and manage competitions on your console. World of Tanks on Xbox hosted by ESL is at the forefront of the planet. The arena allows players to track and participate in similar events for other games, provides direct access to matches and reports on the results of competitions.

The second is custom player avatar pictures. Now you can update your profile data Xbox live with Xbox one, Windows 10 PC or any phone and add your favorite pictures. Microsoft said the feature will be implemented with delays after extensive testing to ensure that it works as intended. I wonder how they are going to deal with the profanity.

The third addition oozed the Xbox user profile view page. Added a button to connect to the stream to the player profile. In addition, each player's profile displays the history of Arena tournaments and upcoming scheduled tournaments.

There are also some updates to the activity stream that allow you to add to favorites or hide unwanted messages.

The My Games & Apps app, an ever-evolving part of the user interface, will now support filters to help sort games. Well really !!!

A convenient function for streamers has been added to the "Settings" section. When using Kinect to broadcast over Beam or Twitch, the camera will automatically zoom in on the face. Ahtung! Spiyonen !!!

Added "Copilot" function that allows you to combine two controllers into one virtual one. This function is positioned by the company as a big step towards the popularization of gaming services among children, providing an opportunity to help with the game, as well as an undeniable advantage for people with disabilities.

With the release of these features, the Xbox apps for Windows 10 and mobile will be updated. Now, when connecting to a team from a tablet, you can select audio input and output to headphones or speakers. Clubs and Group Finder get a number of additions.

As of now, these changes are already available to alpha and beta testers of the Xbox Insiders program and will be rolled out to the next tiers of the program over the next few weeks. The new features are scheduled to be released to the public in May.

List of changes:

  • Duplicate GameDVR recording or screenshot notifications. IN new version firmware, this problem should no longer occur
  • Bugs fixed in various localizations
  • Fixed an issue that caused audio to stop when plugging in a headset
  • Fixed bug with Dolby Atmos technology when using headphones
  • When pressing X in the virtual keyboard while Beam was running, the "flow" of users was interrupted, this will no longer happen
  • Fixed an issue where installed new applications might not start until the console was restarted
  • Fixed a bug that led to an indication in the Blu-Ray player that the audio format of the disc is not supported and to solve the problem you need to close the application and start it again

However, some of the known issues in the current version of the Xbox One dashboard are still not resolved. Let's hope that they will be eliminated according to the test results.

Larry "Major Nelson" Hribe of the Xbox Development Team talks about the new features in his video. Unfortunately, the video is in English, but you can mute the sound and enjoy the new sidebar design and new features

Microsoft has already pleased the owners xbox consoles One with a fresh autumn update. It brought many positive changes and improvements, but the developers have a few more aces tucked up their sleeves. Microsoft will release another big update this year. With it, the console will get some very big and important changes.

Backward compatible with Xbox games OG... Over the past two years, backward compatibility with Xbox 360 games has become one of the most beloved and most popular features on Xbox One (here you can joke about the fact that there is nothing to play on the Xbox One itself, so they made it possible to play Xbox 360 games). Now Microsoft is going to "close" the ecosystem and make it so that users can play on modern Xbox One in any games ever released on Xbox of any generation.

Compatibility with games from the first Xbox will be implemented in the same way as from the Xbox 360. The user can play from a physical disc or digital copy. In addition, games can be purchased directly on Xbox One. So far, only Fuzion Frenzy and Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge have been officially confirmed. Of course, the initial list will include dozens of games and then grow to several hundred. The BC list now has over 400 titles.

Of course, in games from Xbox OG, the graphics will be very primitive by modern standards, and the aspect ratio will be overwhelmingly 4: 3. No one will fix this, but this is more a plus than a minus. Nostalgia, what is already there.

Phil Spencer recently confirmed that backward compatibility with games from the first Xbox will arrive before the end of this year.

New avatar system... Xbox Live Avatars were a major addition to the social dimension of the Xbox 360, but time is moving and it's time to redesign the system. At E3 this year, Microsoft announced a complete redesign of the Xbox Live avatars, but it's not yet included in the Xbox One Fall Update.

The updated avatars will allow players to more accurately express their essence, as well as create an avatar that best matches the player behind it. It will be possible to make a pregnant avatar, an avatar in a wheelchair or with a prosthesis. Nobody will be left out of the party.

Free games... In the near future, the digital gift system will become an integral part of Xbox Live and Windows 10. The purchase process will be the same, only the game will not be added to your collection, but to the set of games of the user to whom you want to gift the toy. While the store still doesn't have a basket or wishlist, the gift system will be a big addition, dramatically improving the interaction with the console and social functions on it.

Currently, a limited number of Insiders can donate games through the Microsoft Store on preview builds of the Xbox One firmware.

What additions and improvements would you like to see in the next Xbox update One? Let us know in the comments.

On November 16, 2017, a new update for Xbox One and Xbox One S was released under the number 1711. All features have been tested by third-party insiders and the update is ready to install. What has been added in the new version?

Xbox games can now be gifted

Added the ability to gift games, DLC additions, Xbox Live Gold and Xbox passes. To purchase a gift, you must click on the "Buy as a gift" button when purchasing. Then you can send the present to your friends.

More information on the dashboard

On the home screen of the dashboard, you can now add special information blocks containing information about games or friend profiles. Also, you can add "clubs". Microsoft is tirelessly looking for useful information to add for quick access later.

Saving settings to the cloud

All settings on your console, including TV and OneGuide, are now automatically saved to the cloud every time you sign in. In case of problems, it will be easy to recover the lost data. With each new setting, a question will be asked - do you agree? The idea originated from the 1710 update, when it was possible to transfer games between consoles. The transfer of personal data is now possible.

Fixed bug with Blue-Ray

Earlier, Forbes magazine published an article about the unstable Blue-ray playback feature on Xbox One. The magazine claimed that some colors were replaced by others and there was extraneous noise. In update 1711, this bug was fixed and now the user can enjoy high-quality images and sound.

Optimized work with the Network

Now you can use the Xbox while it installs the next update.

Family functions

Children can now use the "Ask Parents" feature when downloading new game or applications. Parents themselves will be able to set up privacy and set the necessary parameters for their children. The function is located in the Settings\u003e Account\u003e Parents directory.

Time limitation

The function of limiting the time for using the console by children has appeared. Also, children can leave a request to increase the time, and the parent through the settings has the right to agree or refuse.

Hide games in the profile

Now players can hide games with unlocked achievements both from prying eyes and from private viewing.
