  • take a deep breath and hold your breath for a few seconds. At this time, raise the left leg by 20–25 cm and hold for 5 seconds, lower, with each subsequent approach, increase the holding time by 1 second (the recommended number of approaches for each leg is 4–5);
  • change legs and repeat the exercise.

Santulanasana - requires the following steps:

  • put a blanket on the floor, stand straight on it, look straight ahead, relax your hands (it is better to be near the wall so that there is support if it is difficult to stand on one leg);
  • stand on the left leg, bend the right at the knee so that the heel is as close to the buttocks as possible;
  • with the right hand, completely clasp the toes and still pull the leg to the thigh;
  • after, strain your left hand, slowly raising it up with your palm to the floor, when lifting it up, point your palm up;
  • hold in this position for 7-10 seconds, keep the left leg and arm in tension, breathing should be even;
  • smoothly lower the left hand without relieving tension;
  • put your right foot on the floor;
  • rest for 8 seconds and do it all over again with the other leg.

Yoga includes many different asanas that can influence the human body in their own way. However, despite the compatibility of hypertension and yoga, some postures are not acceptable for such a disease and can significantly harm a person's condition.

If the patient has a recent record of the operation in his medical history, a simplified training program should be drawn up on an individual basis. With a disease of the joints, bones and spinal column, it is necessary to deal with it very carefully and carefully.

In case of violations of the heart, it is worth refraining from numerous repetitions and pay more attention to breathing exercises. Having a pathology of the legs, it is better to abandon asanas performed in a standing position. And diseases of the gastrointestinal tract exclude exercises with inclinations.

Harmful for hypertension are exercises that awaken the nervous system. These include:

Elevated blood pressure (BP) does not occur in one day or even a month. It usually takes years before, in the absence of a hereditary predisposition to high blood pressure, hypertension appears.

Similarly, the treatment of hypertension is not limited to weeks and months. A patient with hypertension needs to prepare for the fact that pressure treatment can last for years with varying success. Sometimes you have to spend a lifetime to overcome the disease, constantly maintaining yourself in the appropriate form.

And first of all, with hypertension, you should exclude foods that increase pressure from your diet:

  • products containing caffeine in significant quantities (strong tea, coffee, cocoa);
  • spicy, salty, smoked foods and dishes, canned food, spices;
  • fatty foods (fatty meats, fish, fish oil, solid fats, ice cream);
  • muffins, cakes, pastries, primarily with butter cream;
  • most offal (kidneys, liver, brains);
  • alcoholic drinks.
  • Wake up early in the morning and follow a well-balanced activity and rest program throughout the day. This will help reduce blood pressure and keep it within normal limits.
  • You need complete sleep.
  • Avoid drinking coffee, tea, do not smoke.
  • Replace animal fats vegetable oil, avoid eating foods that contain high amounts of cholesterol. A tablespoon of honey can be included in the diet. Reduce your salt intake.
  • Avoid stress, emotional experiences, overtime work, strong emotional reactions, because. they affect the autonomic system and increase pressure.
  • Changing the environment and lifestyle, as well as reducing its speed will have a positive effect on your condition.
  • Since overweight and high blood pressure often go together, try to reduce your weight, in which case regular exercise, diet, physical therapy and fasting once every two weeks will be very helpful.
  • Do not take tranquilizers and sedatives (unless strictly prescribed by a doctor), because. they lead to unpleasant side effects. can be a good substitute for tranquilizers.
  • Hypertensive patients should avoid vigorous physical labor which may include lifting and carrying heavy objects. Strenuous or sustained exercise should be avoided, including all sports where there is increased (intense) breathing, which leads to an increase in pressure.

Hypertensive patients can do regular and moderate yoga exercises without feeling tired, but they should avoid inverted asanas and forward bends below the level of the waist, as they increase blood flow to the head. If the pressure is constantly high, stop doing asanas and do only Shavasana until the pressure stabilizes and returns to normal.

The following yoga asanas will help normalize blood pressure: Makarasana, Matsyasana, Vajrasana, Padmasana, Ardha Padmasana, diaphragmatic breathing, Anuloma Viloma pranayama (without holding the breath).

Daily practice of Shavasana will lower blood glucose and immune serum (lipid) levels, providing good rest and stress relief.

Practice Vajrasana for 10 minutes after each meal, avoid overeating.

Daily practice of diaphragmatic breathing will help reduce high pressure unknown etiology (general hypertension). Heredity is a major factor in the occurrence of this type of hypertension.
