For fitting and assembly work

The nature is arranged very wisely - a person for a long time could do without pharmacological preparations, maintaining and restoring his health solely by what Mother Earth gave him.

All kinds of herbs, roots and other natural substances coped with the most difficult viruses and bacteria, relieved fever, and helped with fever and intestinal disorders.

One of these "treasures of health" is propolis - a natural substance, not only rich in vitamins and minerals to support vital functions, but also has truly magical medicinal properties.

What is propolis? Short Course in Natural Science

The natural product of beekeeping, which is called bee glue or propolis, is a kind of resinous sticky substance that is obtained by mixing beeswax and saliva with natural sap of natural sources - trees, leaves, flowers, buds, etc. Propolis is used by insects as a kind of putty, with the help of which they fill up all the cracks and holes in their hive, making it less prone to winds and temperature changes.

However, recent research in the field of beekeeping has shown that bees survive well in hives unprotected with propolis during the winter. So why do insects need this life-giving substance? The answer lies in the antibacterial and protective properties of the substance:

  1. Bee glue prevents pathogens from entering the hive, suppresses fungal growth and disinfects surfaces.
  2. Although bees are extremely clean, they are not always able to completely clean their hive. The corpses of small rodents, accidentally trapped in the hive, are hermetically packed into a kind of cocoon of propolis, thereby preventing decay processes. As a result, the decaying body is simply mummified and will not become an object of infection and an unpleasant odor inside the hive.
  3. Naturally, the adhesive structure strengthens the foundation of the hive, reduces vibration and makes it more durable.

Most often, propolis has a yellow-brown color, but this characteristic can vary depending on the natural component. So, there is bee glue of dark red, black, milky and even green shades. Only one thing remains unchanged - its unique composition. Mainly propolis is a combination of the following ingredients:

  • natural resins;
  • wax;
  • vegetable balms;
  • pollen;
  • essential oils;
  • lipophilic acaricide.

Under normal conditions, the physical properties of propolis remain unchanged: it is a viscous sticky mass. However, it hardens quickly at low temperatures, after which it can be cut or broken into small pieces for storage.

Properties of propolis. Composition

An unsurpassed doctor, an entire pharmacy in one bottle, a home doctor ... As soon as people call bee glue! And all thanks to the unique composition, which is the guarantor of its healing abilities. Depending on the characteristics of insects and their place of residence, propolis can include about 50 different components, but the amount of vitamins, mineral complexes and other useful ingredients remains at a consistently high level. This medicinal product contains:

  • provitamin A;
  • vitamins of group B, C, E;
  • manganese;
  • iron;
  • silicon;
  • zinc;
  • calcium;
  • phosphorus;
  • magnesium;
  • amino acids;
  • organic acids (coumaric, caffeic, cinnamic);
  • a nicotinic acid;
  • benzoic acid;
  • flavonoids.

It is thanks to such a balanced natural composition that propolis has medicinal properties that are simply unique: it is used as an immunomodulatory, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiviral agent, it is considered one of the best medicines for many ailments and helps to cope with vitamin deficiency and loss of strength.

Propolis: medicinal properties

The medicinal capabilities of bee glue have found their application not only in alternative medicine - this substance is recommended by many clinical doctors: gynecologists, otorhinolaryngologists, dermatologists, pediatricians, etc. Such versatility and popularity of this substance in medicine has a simple explanation: the health benefits of propolis are truly invaluable. This effect is achieved through a combination of the following properties:

  • anti-toxic,
  • antibacterial,
  • dermatoplastic,
  • anti-inflammatory,
  • wound healing,
  • disinfectant,
  • immunomodulatory,
  • protective,
  • antioxidant.

Propolis in pure form or as an aqueous infusion has a tonic and tonic effect. It is able to relieve fatigue, stimulate the production of energy and, as it were, awaken a "second wind". In addition, many studies confirm that regular use of bee glue in any available form significantly reduces the first signs of aging in the body, improves metabolism and maintains the body in good shape, despite the passport age. This effect is provided by numerous antioxidants, which protect against harmful environmental influences, cleanse the body of toxins and toxins and awaken internal reserves. A rich vitamin cocktail complements the anti-aging effect.

In addition, propolis significantly reduces the severity of stress, has a calming effect and suppresses the level of anxiety. Thanks to this, a person can more easily endure stressful situations, cope with unexpected outbursts of emotions and control his impulses. And since most diseases are in one way or another associated with a shattered nervous system, this effect is really valuable, especially for residents of modern megacities, most of whose everyday life is spent in psychological stress.

Propolis, the use of which is especially important in the season of morbidity, copes well with the destruction of pathogenic bacteria, among which are:

  • influenza virus,
  • herpes virus,
  • tubercle bacillus,
  • Candida,
  • fungi and yeast,
  • varicella-zoster virus, etc.

At the same time, unlike pharmacological antibiotics, only pathogenic viruses and bacteria fall under the influence of propolis - nothing threatens the microorganisms that form the normal human microflora. This means that after treatment with bee glue, dysbacteriosis and other problems associated with the violation of microflora, you are not threatened.

Despite the fact that the composition of propolis differs depending on the area, its antiviral and antibacterial properties remain at a consistently high level. This activity is achieved due to the high percentage of flavonoids, which are considered one of the best natural remedies for colds and flu. And although propolis is considered to be a medicine, there will be no harm if used for preventive purposes, especially at the peak of morbidity - this way you can protect yourself from unpleasant symptoms and maintain health and vigor.

Who is not destined to be treated with bee glue? List of contraindications

Thinking about who and how to take propolis, it will be useful to familiarize yourself with the list of restrictions concerning this "home doctor". This substance has a natural natural formula, which means it has a safe and non-toxic composition, but there are exceptions to any rule: do not discount the individual characteristics of each person.

In what cases will you have to give up propolis?

  1. For allergic reactions to bee products, coniferous extracts, poplar fluff and pollen from flowering plants. In one concentration or another, all these substances can be part of bee glue, which means they can cause hypersensitivity in an allergic person.
  2. With poor blood clotting, as well as before surgical interventions. Propolis can slow down the formation of platelets and, as a result, blood clotting. With an initially low SK value, it is better not to risk it, especially on the eve of operations - it would be reasonable to abandon propolis, replacing it with other useful products of natural origin.
  3. During lactation (in case the baby is allergic). If a child is prone to allergic reactions from birth, bee glue will have to be abandoned during feeding so as not to provoke additional exacerbations in the baby.

That, perhaps, is all that should be taken into account before using this healing product. Evaluating propolis, the medicinal properties and contraindications of which cannot be compared, we can conclude that this remedy is a unique healer, in most cases bringing only one benefit to the body.

Propolis: application

Knowing the beneficial properties of bee glue, it is easy to assume that its use is recommended for many diseases. Indeed, in addition to the expected colds, the use of propolis is indicated in the presence of the following diagnoses:

  1. Arterial hypertension. The extracts that are part of this beekeeping product suppress the production of a special enzyme and thereby lower blood pressure.
  2. Stomach ulcer. Since propolis has a wound healing and anti-inflammatory effect, getting into the stomach, it soothes the mucous membrane, relieves unpleasant symptoms and promotes the early healing of ulcers.
  3. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Caffeic acid, which is found in excess in bee glue, inhibits the process of destruction of bone tissue, restores its density and increases resistance to external influences.
  4. Allergic reactions. The substances contained in the bee "medicine" act as antihistamines, suppressing the symptoms of allergies.
  5. Food poisoning. Propolis is able to quickly and delicately cleanse the body of toxins that caused poisoning, relieve symptoms of intoxication and restore normal microflora.
  6. Skin defects: ulcers, warts, burns, fungus, etc. Bee glue cleanses the skin, restores its integrity and promotes rapid healing of even the most serious injuries.
  7. Gynecological abnormalities: thrush, vaginal herpes, endometriosis, etc. Propolis in ointments or suppositories is an effective remedy against “female” diseases of an infectious and inflammatory nature. Moreover, the substance is safe even during pregnancy (in the absence of contraindications).

This list is not complete, since propolis will be useful in one way or another for almost all diseases. It is prescribed as an adjunct therapy for diabetes, hepatitis and even oncology.

How to take propolis?

You can use propolis as you like - make water and oil tinctures, ointments, creams, and even chew in its pure form like chewing gum. However, the most convenient form for patients of all ages is still considered to be an aqueous tincture. To prepare it, it is enough to chop a small amount of bee product with a knife and boil it in a water bath for 10 minutes, after adding ½ cup of boiled water.

The preparation of propolis oil is no more complicated. Grinding 50 g of propolis in the same way, mix it with 300 g of melted butter and, slightly warming up in a water bath, stir the product until the wax settles at the bottom. Thus, the healing components will get into the oil, and the wax will not interfere with application to the skin. This composition can be used as an ointment in the presence of skin diseases, cracks, ulcers and eczema, taken orally for stomach problems and rubbed into painful areas.

Let's sum up: the benefits of propolis for the body

Propolis is a substance unique in its composition and healing effect, which simply has no equal in nature. Using it as a medicine or prophylactic, you can preserve and increase your health, postpone old age on the back burner, remain strong, calm and balanced in any stressful situation, be full of energy and strength even after a tiring day at work and never get to know depression. No pill in the world can replace this source of longevity and prosperity from bees. Therefore, you should not run to the pharmacy at the first signs of an illness - everything that is necessary for recovery has already been donated by nature, it remains only to properly dispose of this gift.

An amazing beekeeping product - propolis has extraordinary properties, not fully understood. This is bee glue. Collected from the buds of trees, the bees transform, thanks to enzymes, into an excellent building material. It is rich in vitamins, sucrose, trace elements. Since ancient times, people have considered propolis to be a miracle cure sent by the Gods. Propolis with alcohol is especially useful. What a natural product helps from, we will tell in our selection.

Propolis on alcohol - useful and medicinal properties

Bee product:

  • disinfects;
  • regenerates;
  • fights bacteria;
  • neutralizes poisons;
  • eliminates inflammatory foci;
  • copes with skin diseases;
  • strengthens the immune system.

It is also a very good antioxidant agent that has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, improves the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, promotes regeneration and wound healing.

Another amazing feature of the substance is not to lose its properties when heated, frozen. Since a fresh beekeeping product is not always easy to use due to its dense structure, it is made soft, only not in water or by heating, but by dissolving it in alcohol. At the same time, bee glue reveals all its wonderful properties, enhancing the effectiveness of treatment.

How to make propolis tincture on your own?

This miraculous bee glue remedy is always a must-have in your home medicine cabinet. Try making it at home. To do this, grind the propolis and fill it with water. Everything that does not need to float up, it must be poured, and the pure propolis must be dried. Thus, ordinary water helped to cleanse propolis, and alcohol or vodka will help dissolve it.

There are two most common methods of making a tincture.

  • The first option involves taking ten grams of propolis, placing it in 100 ml of medical alcohol (70%) and heating the mixture to 50 degrees. Stir well, not letting it boil, remove from heat. Then pass through any filter - a rag, gauze, cotton wool, pour into a glass vial and stand in a dark place for a week. When cooled, it loses its properties.
  • The second method is simpler, but it will take more time. 10 grams of propolis pour 100 mg of alcohol or vodka. Use only glass containers. Place the mixture in a warm place protected from light for a couple of weeks. Shake the mixture twice every day. After the time has passed, strain and start consuming. Store in a cool, dark place.

Thus, a 10% propolis tincture is obtained, the instructions for use are quite simple. However, you can make 50%, and dilute it before use. The healing solution is stored in a dark bottle.

Why propolis for alcohol helps - instructions for use

In fact, propolis alcohol tincture helps with many diseases.

This is interesting: instructions for using propolis tincture

To raise immunity you need:

  1. Drink propolis mixed with honey - a teaspoon three times a day.
  2. Drink tea or juice with propolis tincture at the rate of 20 drops per 20 ml of liquid. An hour before meals, twice a day.
  3. Chew propolis in small pieces one hour before meals.

During the period of treatment, it is necessary to stop smoking and drinking alcohol.

Stomach treatment with propolis on alcohol

Propolis is able to eliminate the symptoms of many stomach problems, such as nausea, heartburn, pain. It fights against gastritis and ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, with dysbiosis and flatulence, has a positive effect on cancer of the digestive organ.

Usually a cup of warm milk with 20% alcohol propolis diluted in it in the amount of 60 drops is given three times a day. It should be taken 1-1.5 hours before a meal, 18-20 days. If necessary, the course is repeated after one to two weeks.

Strict adherence to dosage! Overdose can reduce appetite, reduce vitality.

For colds

Ideally helps with any respiratory viral infections, due to the fact that it destroys bacteria and viruses. It helps to quickly cope with the flu, as well as bronchitis, sinusitis, rhinitis. In addition to its antibacterial and antiviral properties, propolis also has an immunomodulatory effect.

It prevents the multiplication of viruses such as herpes, hepatitis. And when it is used, the intestinal microflora is not disturbed.

The tincture is taken orally, 20-30 drops with tea three times a day. And also rinse your mouth with inflammation, adding a 10% propolis solution to a glass warm water 1:10.

Restoration of the cardiovascular system

Propolis helps with blood pressure disorders. It thins the blood, strengthens blood vessels, promotes cell renewal, regeneration of heart muscle tissue.

It is necessary to take propolis regularly, alternating monthly intake with a monthly break. The heart will become stronger, more enduring, the fragility of blood vessels will decrease, and their permeability will increase.

It is most useful to combine propolis with alcohol and honey with garlic. It is necessary to grate 200 grams of garlic, pour 200 grams of alcohol or vodka. Infuse the mixture for two weeks in a dark and cool place. Then strain and add 50 grams of honey, as well as 30 mg of 10% alcoholic propolis tincture. Mix everything. Take three times a day before meals, 25 drops for 31 days. And then take a break for five months. And repeat the treatment again.

Treatment of diabetes mellitus with propolis on alcohol

In type 1 and type 2 diabetes, propolis is considered an irreplaceable remedy. In 80% of cases, it helps to forget about the disease for a long time, in 20% of cases it helps to avoid complications from diabetes.

It is necessary to chew on a small piece of propolis several times a day one hour before a meal. Propolis should be chewed with the front teeth for a long time.

Solving vision problems

Since propolis has anti-inflammatory and regenerating properties, it should be used for eye treatment in two variations - in the form of drops and tincture of alcohol. As a tincture, it should be taken three times a day, 20 drops half an hour before meals. And as drops, dissolve in water 1:10, heat over a fire, strain and instill 2-3 drops in each eye.

Propolis improves blood flow, cleanses blood vessels, and promotes cell regeneration. Conjunctivitis and inflammation will pass from this. Before use, you should seek the advice of a specialist.

Improving hair condition with propolis on alcohol

Any person, especially the fair sex, is adorned with healthy shiny hair. From the means of traditional medicine, propolis with alcohol is especially popular.

Propolis heals curls damaged by paints, strengthens hair follicles, and prevents hair loss. To do this, you need a 10% tincture of 1 tbsp. l. mix with egg yolk, pour in burdock oil 1 tbsp. l., apply to hair thirty minutes before shampooing.

If you do this twice a week, then in a month you can see excellent results. Hair will become supple and silky.

It is enough just to rub the mixture into the scalp, as well as into the hair a couple of times a week on a clean and dried, or slightly damp hair. This will stop the hair loss process, remove dandruff, and promote their rapid growth.

Indications for use

Propolis tincture helps both adults and children. It is used in almost all cases - for colds, indigestion, nervous disorders, cardiovascular problems, skin diseases. You can drink in the form of solutions, mixing 20-60 drops with tea, water, juices, or rub into sore spots. Duration of admission is from two weeks, and prevention is at least two to three months.

  1. For otitis media, a tampon dipped in propolis tincture is placed in the ear.
  2. For skin problems, apply any ointment to which a little propolis tincture is added.
  3. With pharyngitis, the substance activates recovery processes. One part of the propolis extract is mixed with two parts of glycerin or peach oil. The mixture is applied to the mucous membrane once a day for 10-15 days.
  4. For injuries, ulcers, wounds, an alcoholic tincture of propolis is applied in the form of a gauze bandage folded in several layers.

Propolis has contraindications, there are few of them, but you need to know about this. The drug is harmful to those who are not allowed to drink alcohol. But for other people, recovery with tincture should not last more than 2-3 weeks. If the tincture is prepared on the basis of vodka, and not medical alcohol, then the treatment can last up to two months.

About treatment cancer propolis read here - Propolis for immunity and cancer treatment.

Propolis has been proven to be an excellent antiviral agent. Its use prevents the multiplication of viruses, stimulates the immune system and the production of interferons. In the autumn-spring period, when epidemics of flu and colds arise, it is recommended to take 15 - 20 drops of propolis extract per day for preventive purposes. This extract is best added to crystallized honey or warm (not hot) tea or milk. Modern scientific research shows that those who regularly take propolis usually do not get colds and tonsillitis, as their immunity becomes so strong that they can easily cope with even the current strains of flu.

The most pronounced antiviral effect of propolis is observed in people suffering from herpes on the lips. If, before the herpes sores appear on the lips (when the skin only itches), you apply any product with propolis to the skin around the lips, herpes will not appear! If you miss this chance, use propolis and royal jelly frequently.

Headaches and migraines

Propolis is effectively used to prevent migraines. At the first signs of a headache, you need to drink a cup of tea, with the addition of 30 drops of propolis extract and one spoon of meadow honey (see TOP-10 useful properties of honey). Drink this tea every hour, starting a few hours before bedtime. Do the same the next day, but the dose should be halved.

Asthma and allergies

Research shows that propolis can replace traditional pharmaceuticals for many lung conditions. It has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, and especially helps with asthma and allergies. The use of propolis can significantly reduce the frequency of asthma attacks. Royal jelly also reduces the frequency of asthma attacks, coughing and phlegm production.

Cancer tumors

In addition to its pronounced antioxidant potential, propolis prevents the development of tumor cells by blocking them at certain stages of development. It is known that tumors require a large amount of nutrition, as a result of which new blood vessels begin to be created for this. Propolis restricts the process of creating new blood vessels, thereby depriving the tumor of nutrition, which slows down the growth of the tumor mass and leads to its death.

Diabetes

The mechanism of action of flavonoids on diseases caused by oxidative stress is fully understood and supported by science. Propolis and royal jelly contain an insulin-like substance, as a result of which these bee products help lower blood sugar levels.

Scientists say that regular consumption of propolis helps to reduce your daily insulin intake, but you should only do this under the supervision of a doctor. In 2005, it was officially proven that regular consumption of propolis lowers cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and blood sugar levels, as well as increases the level of good cholesterol (HDL). Propolis and its flavonoids protect and repair the cells in the pancreas that secrete insulin, and may even increase the number of these cells in the tissues of the pancreas. Propolis also increases the sensitivity of cells to insulin.

Blood pressure and blood clots

Regular intake of propolis improves the elasticity of blood vessels, blood circulation and helps to lower blood pressure. It improves the function of the blood capillaries in the muscles. It has been proven that propolis has an antiplatelet effect, i.e. reduces blood clots. For this purpose, acetylsalicylic acid is used in medicine, the intake of which is a particular problem for people suffering from gastritis or ulcers, and propolis does not have such side effects... Moreover, thanks to the action of propolis, stomach and duodenal ulcers heal quickly.

Use propolis regularly as a preventive measure as it has been helping bees survive for over 45 million years. It may well help you to live without diseases for many years!

Hello, friends!

Today we are talking about propolis, namely: propolis tincture for alcohol - use. Propolis is always at hand, since my parents' bees produce it. And although to a greater extent the publication will be devoted to tincture, since this is perhaps the most common way of using propolis, and I will also touch on other options.

The medicinal properties of propolis are so great, it is the best natural healer that must be noticed.

The source of information for this publication was the books of Professor Alexei Sinyakov, the famous beekeeper Pavel Foris, the advice of Dr. Vitaly Ostrovsky and some beekeepers, and of course my personal experience.

What is propolis

Propolis is a sticky substance that bees collect from the blossoming buds of trees, bring them and put them in the hive, adding wax, pollen and enriching them with their own enzymes.

Bees cover their hive with propolis: walls, bottom, ceiling, cracks in order to protect against damage by various viral and fungal microorganisms. If an enemy gets into the hive, even a mouse and a lizard, the bees, after being bitten, embalm it with propolis. And a dead animal can lie in this sarcophagus for years without decomposing.

It is primarily a building material of bees, which consists of resins, balms, essential oils, wax, pollen, aromatic substances.

The sticky substance can be dark green, gray, reddish or brownish; it turns black with prolonged storage.

It is not only very healthy, but also deliciously smelling: it resembles the aroma of honey, fragrant herbs and resinous greens. And by its bitter taste it is associated with tree buds.

Good propolis is poorly soluble in water, sinks easily, and dissolves in alcohol.

Healing propolis contains 55% resin and, due to their weight, sinks in water. So you can check if propolis is good when buying.

If it contains more wax and impurities, such propolis will float on the surface and have less beneficial properties for treatment.

Real propolis can cause a burning sensation in the mouth and even slight numbness of the tongue. Otherwise, you may doubt its quality.

Propolis is used both in its natural form and in the form of alcohol and water tinctures, in the form of candles, ointments and oils are made from it.

Propolis tincture: medicinal properties and application

Propolis is a cure for all diseases without exaggeration, because the natural substance contains many vitamins and microelements: nicotinic acid, chromium, iron, copper, vanadium, cobalt, B vitamins, iodine and others.

Propolis, as well as tincture of it with alcohol, has the highest medicinal properties:

  • removes all inflammatory reactions in the body
  • quickly and effectively heals any wounds that do not heal for a long time, both external and internal
  • antiseptic effect allows you to use propolis tincture instead of iodine
  • inhibits the growth of the herpes virus, staphylococcus, streptococcus, kills the causative agents of diphtheria, tuberculosis, fungi, smallpox, hepatitis, flu
  • the anesthetic effect is 5 times greater than the effect of novocaine
  • propolis is a strong antioxidant that protects us from aging, cleanses cells
  • propolis substances make our liver more resistant to the action of any toxic substances, restore its cells, have a choleretic effect, successfully treat hepatitis B
  • stimulates metabolic processes
  • relieves vasospasm
  • reduces blood clotting
  • strengthens the body's defenses.

Especially known to everyone is this feature of propolis that it is an amazing natural antibiotic, it is several times stronger than penicillin.

As a result of research, it was found that no type of microbes can resist propolis, and no microorganisms can adapt to it.

Propolis enhances the effect of antibiotics and, taking it, you can halve the number of pills and injections. And this is very good, since antibiotics also have side effects.

Propolis acts at the cellular level and looks for viruses wherever they are.

Natural propolis is used in dental practice, for stomatitis, periodontal disease. It should be chewed like gum.

For the treatment of wounds and burns, propolis ointment is sometimes prepared.

In gynecology and for the treatment of prostatitis 1 and 2 degrees, candles are used.

With a runny nose, an aqueous solution is instilled into the nose.

Propolis tincture on alcohol has the most extensive indications for use: for gastritis, stomach ulcers, liver diseases, treatment of adenoma and prostatitis, for sore throats, prevention of immunity and for colds, bronchopulmonary diseases, hypertension, fungus on the legs, burns, wounds and in many other cases. Let's take a closer look at the use of propolis tincture on alcohol.

How to make propolis tincture with alcohol, with vodka

Pharmacy propolis tincture is also quite suitable for use. And if you wish, you can make the tincture better with your own hands.

For treatment, 10% tincture is most often taken, sometimes 20%. You can find different cooking recipes, but my advice is this.

To prepare a ten percent solution, you will need 10 grams of propolis and 90 ml of 70-degree medical alcohol.

For 20%, respectively: 20 grams and 80 ml.

You can also make an infusion with vodka, but vodka is 40 degrees, which is not enough to dissolve propolis, it will take too long to dissolve, so look for medical alcohol or homemade strong vodka.

If you still use vodka, then propolis will need to take 50 grams per 50 ml.

Now step by step instructions:

  1. We put a piece of propolis in the refrigerator so that it freezes a little, it will become fragile and then it will be easier to grind it.
  2. We take out the propolis from the refrigerator, you can also grate it, but this is not very convenient, I advise you to wrap it in paper and film and beat it off with a hammer on a hard surface.
  3. For better and faster dissolution of propolis crumbs, you can additionally grind it on a coffee grinder. This is especially important for aqueous infusions; it is not necessary for alcohol infusions. Work carefully, as the substance is very sticky and if it gets on the floor it will be very difficult to wash it off, except with the use of gasoline.
  4. Pour the crumbs into a dark glass dish and fill with alcohol.
  5. We tighten the lid, put in a dark place.
  6. Within 10-14 days, while the tincture is being prepared, it must be shaken periodically (several times a day) so that the contents dissolve better.
  7. After the specified time has elapsed, the tincture should be filtered, you can take a regular cotton circle for this purpose. The leftover propolis can be used for secondary tincture, although it will be weaker, but it is quite usable.

We store the tincture in a dark bottle in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 years.

Propolis tincture: application

The use of propolis tincture in folk medicine has been known for a long time. It is used both externally and internally. You can use alcohol tincture as well as homemade and pharmacy. But even infused with vodka will have a healing effect, the recipes are similar.

I note right away that when using the dishes in which you are preparing the solution, wash the spoon immediately, otherwise they will become covered with a yellow coating, which will be very difficult to wash, and the drops leave stubborn yellow spots on the table.

External use

Skin problems

I often use propolis tincture instead of iodine. It also acts softer, and does not dry the skin, very quickly heals wounds, cuts, burns.

It is able to cure even long-healing, purulent wounds, trophic ulcers formed as a complication of diabetes mellitus.

If a sore from a cold appears on my lips, I lubricate it with tincture and it quickly passes without having time to turn around.

Effectively treats nail fungus, we have such reviews on our blog for my article "How to cure nail fungus with folk remedies and my personal experience."

Propolis is also used against boils. I read reviews that in these cases it is better to use not even tincture, but natural propolis: knead a piece in your hands (warm it up, because propolis works at a temperature of 37 degrees), put it on gauze on a boil, fix it with a bandage. A small boil can pass even in just a day.

Radiculitis

A composition is prepared from honey, sunflower oil and 30% propolis tincture. All products are taken in a tablespoon.

The resulting mass is applied to the mustard plaster and applied to the sore spot, securing it with a bandage.

I also have this experience of treatment, however, I used the mixture in the form of rubbing (I'm afraid of mustard plasters). And lately I have been using mainly foil.

Toothache

Propolis helps very well and quickly in case of toothache, and I also had to seek such help. To do this, you can attach a piece of propolis to a sore tooth and after a while the pain will disappear.

You can also rinse with propolis tincture, diluted in water (for half a glass of warm water - ½ teaspoon of alcohol tincture).

But you still have to make a visit to the dentist.

I, and indeed everyone in our family, practice this method: if they are frozen and have a cold, we immediately drink tea, adding an incomplete spoonful of propolis (tincture) to it, almost always it helps not to get sick. If you also steam your legs, then it's generally wonderful.

You can drink propolis for colds not only with tea, but also with milk: 20 drops of tincture are diluted in a glass of warm milk and drunk before bedtime.

For coughs, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, you can add honey and any fat to milk.

What is propolis?

This is bee glue, i.e. a substance produced by worker bees.

Propolis performs certain functions in the hive:

    closes the cracks;

    if necessary, closes the entrance - a taphole;

    closes the honeycomb with "caps" - a beading;

    disinfects cells, maintains sterility in the hive;

    envelopes foreign, potentially dangerous objects that fall into the hive.

Propolis is able to stick together particles, because bees create it from sticky substances collected in spring from the buds of black poplar, alder, warty birch, aspen and other trees. Insects additionally process this "harvest" with their enzymes. Scientists still cannot accurately establish the mechanism for the production of propolis.

Bee glue has a very complex chemical composition. It includes 16 classes organic matter! Perhaps this is the reason for such a variety of properties of this beekeeping product. It is composed of various resins, oils, alcohols, proteins, as well as wax, pollen, vitamins, sugar, and other ingredients.

Propolis is an unusual substance in the method of production, composition, and has extraordinary properties.

Useful and medicinal properties of propolis

Propolis is a poorly studied substance, therefore the whole spectrum of its action has not yet been clarified.

Propolis has the following beneficial properties:

    Disinfectants

    Antibacterial

    Antitoxic

    Anti-inflammatory

    Dermoplastic

    Antioxidant

    Immunomodulating

Disinfection - destruction of infectious agents and destruction of toxins. Propolis suppresses activity and kills bacteria and viruses, slows down the growth of some of them. In addition, this honey product neutralizes the poisons that decaying cells release, accelerates the processes of regeneration and healing. There is a debate about the anesthetic effect of bee glue. There is no scientific confirmation of this effect yet.

Propolis tincture

Propolis has a unique quality - even after processing at high temperatures, it does not change its properties. This allows the manufacture of a wide variety of propolis-containing products. The tincture always contains alcohol, and it is called so because it is infused, "soaked" without heating for some time. Propolis is difficult to use in its original form, because it is quite dense and only becomes soft when heated. Only alcohol-containing solutions can "soak" it. They allow you to achieve maximum extraction of nutrients.

What does propolis tincture treat?

This drug is taken to treat various diseases. gastrointestinal tract, tumors, skin, respiratory tract, circulatory and genitourinary systems and not only. This is the versatility of propolis.

A miraculous natural remedy heals almost any disease, has a beneficial general strengthening effect on the entire body. Any ailment is caused by a malfunction in the body, which can occur due to the ingress of harmful substances from the outside or internal disturbances.

Propolis tincture treats almost all types of diseases, including those caused by:

    physical reasons - injuries, burns. Accelerates the regeneration processes, prevents the onset of the inflammatory process, prevents infection.

    chemical - poisoning. Removes toxins from the body.

    biological - infectious diseases. Kills harmful microorganisms, promotes their removal.

    social - chronic fatigue, alcoholism, drug addiction. Supports the body with a complex of minerals and vitamins, removes toxic substances.

    deficiency of substances - vitamin deficiency. The composition of propolis includes vitamins of most groups.

A number of diseases for the treatment of which propolis tincture is used can be enumerated endlessly. It is much more difficult to name cases when it does not help.

How to make propolis tincture at home?

Before using the bond, it is recommended to first clean it by rubbing frozen propolis on a fine grater. Crushed bee glue is poured cold water... All unnecessary will float, the top layer with floating particles can be drained. The cleaned bee glue needs to be dried. Medical alcohol, vodka or alcoholic infusions of various herbs are used as a solvent for infusion. The latter enhance the therapeutic effect.

To prepare the medicinal composition, you can go along the easy (fast) or difficult path. In the first case, the recipe is as follows: finely grate 10 g of propolis, heat 90-100 ml of 70% medical alcohol to 50 degrees in a water bath, mix everything to a homogeneous consistency, remove from heat without boiling, strain through special paper with cotton wool or several layers of gauze, pour into a dark glass dish, seal well. Store in a cool, dark place.

The second recipe will take more time to make a 10% tincture, but it is easier. Pour alcohol or vodka into a glass dish, pour propolis there. Insist for 2 weeks in a dark, warm place, shaking 2 times a day. Strain and the medicine is ready.

The recipe depends on what concentration of tincture you need to prepare (5-50%). It is better to make a 50% composition, and then dilute it in the required proportions.

The use of propolis tincture

This medicinal product helps in virtually all diseases that can affect the human organ systems.

Some diseases for which an alcoholic extract of propolis is effective:

    The skeletal system. Osteochondrosis, periodontal disease, arthritis.

    Nervous system. Radiculitis, otitis media, conjunctivitis, migraine.

    The cardiovascular system. Vegeto-vascular dystonia, leukemia, hemorrhoids, thrombosis, atherosclerosis, rheumatism, arteriosclerosis, arterial hypertension.

    Respiratory system. Tonsillitis, influenza, acute respiratory infections, ARVI, tuberculosis, bronchitis, rhinitis, bronchial asthma, tonsillitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, tracheitis, diphtheria.

    Digestive system. Stomach and duodenal ulcer, colitis, stomatitis, caries, gastritis, Helicobacter pylori, pancreatitis, gastroduodenitis, hepatitis.

    The reproductive system. Impotence, fibroids, prostatitis, endometriosis, cervical erosion, candidiasis (thrush), mastopathy, endocirvitis, colpingitis, syphilis, trichomoniasis, cystitis, chlamydia, mastitis, infertility.

    Integumentary system. Eczema, burns, chickenpox, herpes, foot and nail fungus, acne, seborrhea, frostbite, allergies, psoriasis, furunculosis, carbuncles, calluses.

These are not all pathological conditions in which the tincture will be irreplaceable.

How to take propolis tincture?

The method of taking the drug depends on its concentration and disease. The composition can be used internally or externally. Orally 20-60 drops in half a glass of warm milk, tea or water.

For rinsing, use a 3% aqueous-alcoholic solution. Also, the tincture is used externally in the form of compresses, rubbing, ointments and sprays for irrigation directly to sore spots. With otitis media, a cotton or gauze swab is impregnated with the drug, which is then inserted into the external auditory canal. Lotions usually need to be changed several times a day. Another medicine can be taken in the form of inhalation, in a proportion of 1 drop per 5 ml of saline (sodium chloride). For children under the age of 10, the dosage is calculated as follows: for each year of the child's age, a drop of tincture.

The duration of the course of treatment is usually about a month. We must not forget that medical products sometimes cause allergies. it is better to start taking the tincture with small doses, carefully observing the state of health. Side effects may include itching, redness, swelling, rash, shortness of breath, general weakness, headache, and fever.

How to make an aqueous propolis solution?

Some people are contraindicated to drink alcoholic beverages, so there are recipes for preparing liquid solutions from propolis based on water. The convenience of their use is that they do not need to be diluted. This composition is recommended for children and pregnant women. Its only drawback is its short shelf life. Unlike alcohol tincture, which can last for several years, the aqueous solution must be used within a week.

The recipe is as follows: stand up boiled water, pour into glass or enamel dishes, add propolis in a ratio of 2 parts of liquid to 1 part of crushed propolis, heat in a water bath to 80 degrees (heat for 1 hour, but no more!), Cool and let stand 6 hours, filter, pour into a dark glass container. Storage conditions are the same as for the tincture.

It is usually recommended to dilute the aqueous extract for washing the mucous membranes. This is due to the unpredictability of the response of the delicate skin to honey products.

Honey with propolis

Despite the powerful positive effect that the use of bee glue has on health, it is enhanced when combined with honey. This is the so-called propolis honey. From this "symbiosis" honey becomes more healing, and propolis acquires a pleasant taste and smell. The healing mixture can be easily prepared at home. The output will be bitter-tart honey with a specific smell.

Honey with propolis is taken in a teaspoon, in the form of inhalation or douching with boiled water, warming compresses, added to tea or milk. Usually the course of treatment is limited to 2 months. It is better not to wait until the disease catches up, but to carry out prophylaxis with honey products in a timely manner. Their use increases immunity, contributes to the overall strengthening of the body.

Propolis honey - combination drug on the basis of beekeeping products, the use of which gives a unique healing effect.

How to make honey with propolis?

The cooking recipe depends, as in the manufacture of the bond tincture, on the goals and the required concentration level (3-20%). honey is a fairly liquid product, but propolis needs to be melted in a water bath, after cleaning and crushing it. Without removing the container from the fire, while stirring continuously, add honey. The mixture must be heated to 60 degrees (this will take about 20 minutes) until all the propolis particles are dissolved. It is recommended to keep the mixture in the refrigerator.

There is another cooking recipe. After filtering the propolis tincture, a viscous mass remains. It is necessary to defend it for several days so that alcohol is released, it is drained until it stops coming out of the gruel. The remaining propolis mass is added to honey, mixed until smooth and placed in a warm place. Prepared propolis honey is stored in the cold so that the resinous bee glue does not rise to the surface and the mixture remains uniform.

Beekeepers are constantly experimenting with recipes for preparing honey products, trying to create new tasty and healthy formulations.

Propolis in gynecology

This branch of medicine has developed into a separate science, because the female body is so complex that any disease of the reproductive system affects many other organs. In this case, propolis-containing preparations with their universal therapeutic effect are irreplaceable.

Most often, women use propolis compositions in the form of candles, ointments, tinctures, solutions for douching and making drinks. Sometimes turundas are used - gauze bands soaked in a healing solution or smeared with ointment. Before inserting a tampon, the vagina must be cleaned of discharge. Ointment recipe: mix 50 g of lanolin, the same amount of petroleum jelly, 5 ml of propolis tincture.

Bee glue is irreplaceable during pregnancy. A drink with rose hips is useful. Prepare it like this: pour 80 crushed rose hips with water for 2 hours, bring to a boil, let it stand for an hour over low heat, pour it into a thermos, add a grain of propolis, close it tightly and leave it to brew overnight.

Women should be careful because propolis is a potent remedy and sometimes the body's response to it is unpredictable.

Can you chew propolis?

You can get all the beneficial substances contained in this bee product simply by eating it. But the taste and smell are unlikely to be liked by anyone. The consolation is that this medicine is saturated with vitamins and useful microelements.

Propolis is quite dense, and when chewed, saliva dissolves it. The therapeutic effect will primarily be on the oral cavity and teeth. When sore throat it is usually enough to suck on propolis twice to feel relief. The chewed uzu can be applied to diseased skin areas.

Whole bee glue is difficult to digest, so it is not recommended to swallow it. In its composition, it is close to wax, which means that it may not dissolve at all, even inside.

You can and should chew propolis. It improves blood flow and lymph circulation, kills harmful microorganisms, strengthens the immune system.

How to chew propolis properly?

It is important to respect the dosage. This is usually a few grams per day, but they cannot be taken immediately. You need to start with a drop, carefully monitoring your well-being. The procedure should last no more than 20 minutes, otherwise the mucous membranes of the oral cavity can be burned. For some diseases, it is allowed to repeat it several times during the day, and with sore throat, even the whole day. It must not be forgotten, however, that jokes are bad with this potent remedy.

After a few weeks of such procedures, gum and dental diseases should disappear. During pregnancy, the dosage should be reduced to 1-2 g every other day. Children should be tested for an allergic reaction before taking propolis. It is quite possible to do it at home. A small piece of propolis is briefly applied to the inside of the elbow bend. If there is no redness or itching, so are allergies.

Chew propolis a little correctly, not forgetting the danger of allergies.

Propolis treatment, recipes

The uniqueness of this medicine is that a wide variety of preparations are made from it: tinctures, water extracts, ointments, pastes, creams, oils, tablets, sprays, candles, masks, it can be used for inhalation, compresses, rinses. Uzu is used even in its original form - it is chewed.

There are many recipes for preparing propolis compositions, but there is no organization that would issue them a safety certificate. Even if the recipe is correct and effective, no one will vouch for the quality of the ingredients that ordinary people use. It is important not to be lazy and to cleanse propolis from unnecessary impurities before making a medicine. This will stretch the cooking procedure, but it will improve the quality of the final product. Pure bee glue is softer.

Propolis treatment is a powerful adjuvant in the treatment of many diseases. There are many ways to use it. Usually they are slightly different for pregnant women and children.

Treatment of stomach ulcers with propolis

This is a defect in the mucous membrane of the organ. For its treatment, they identify the cause of the development of the disease and fight against it, while accelerating the healing of the wound and supporting the weakened body. An ulcer occurs because the factors of aggression begin to prevail over the factors of protection of the epithelium. The mucous layer is destroyed. Propolis creates a new protective layer, allows cells of epithelial tissue to regenerate, relieves pain, destroys Helicobacter pylori bacteria, which tend to break through the body's defenses.

Ulcers are given 60 drops of 20-30% propolis tincture diluted with warm milk (150 ml) three times a day half an hour before meals. The following dosage was tested abroad: 5 drops of 5% tincture. Some doctors prefer to use an aqueous extract or oil. It is more effective to drink warm drinks with honey at the same time. Improvement occurs in the first days. Less often, nausea occurs, pain decreases, acidity levels normalize, the ulcer heals faster.

They drink 20 drops of an alcoholic or water extract three times a day for 10 days. Tampons are moistened in a 10% aqueous composition or a mixture of 40 g of propolis, 40 g of butter and 120 g of sunflower oil. The healing effect can be enhanced by taking an infusion of wormwood, water pepper, celandine and / or yarrow.

Recipe for herbal infusion with propolis for the treatment of fibroids: 20 g of crushed propolis, pine buds, celandine, calendula, wormwood, yarrow and mariana root pour into a container, pour 0.5 liters of vodka or alcohol, leave for 2 weeks, shaking several times during days, strain. For steaming, add a teaspoon of tincture to hot water. The duration of the procedure is 10 minutes. It is better to do it before bedtime. Then generously lubricate your fingers with propolis oil (mix antiseptic essential oil with tincture) and apply a thick layer of natural propolis to your nails. The key to success in the fight against fungus will be hygiene. Socks need to be changed daily, shoes can also be treated with propolis extracts.

Fungi are very tenacious, sometimes sick people cannot cope with this infection for several years. Bee glue becomes a salvation for them.

Helicobacter propolis treatment

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that infects the stomach and duodenum. It can accompany an ulcer, atrophic gastritis, malt and other diseases. Propolis helps relieve the feeling of heaviness in the stomach, heartburn, belching, nausea and vomiting. The methods of its use are the same as for ulcers and gastritis. First of all, this is propolis milk containing at least 5 (for children) or 10 (for adults) drops of tincture. The healing effect is increased by adding honey and lemon to the drink.

A method for getting rid of Helicobacter pylori has also been developed, consisting in the combined intake of an aqueous extract, propolis oil and Omeprazole preparation for 2-3 weeks.

The effectiveness of the use of 100-150 ml of a 30% aqueous solution twice a day has been experimentally proven. The duration of the course does not exceed 14 days.

The success of using honey products even against such a strong bacterium as Helicobacter pylori once again confirms that propolis has unique antimicrobial properties.

It is used in the form of rectal suppositories - suppositories that anesthetize, relieve swelling, itching and burning, heal cracks and wounds, stop bleeding, and prevent infection. Hemorrhoids often occur in pregnant women. Most medications are contraindicated during pregnancy, so propolis suppositories are very helpful. The only problem is the possibility of an allergic reaction to medicinal products.

You can make candles at home, but they are usually purchased at a pharmacy. Such homeopathic medicines are known as "Gemo-Pro", "Adonis", "NOVA VITA", "GEMOPROST-T", "EBILOM-GEMORRALGIN". Also, for the treatment of hemorrhoids, you can make lotions with an aqueous extract of propolis.

For the healing of the respiratory tract, apitherapists recommend a propolis lap or position. This is a rag that beekeepers put under the cover of the hive from drafts. Bees are amazing insects, whose house a person has in some way dismantled "brick by brick" for the benefits of his health! Honey plants thoroughly disinfect all foreign objects. This piece of canvas - a canvas - is also propolized.

Touching the skin slightly heats the tissue, the propolis in it softens, begins to affect the epidermis and fill the air with a specific aroma, inhale the upper respiratory tract. You need to be careful as prolonged contact with this material can damage the skin. It is applied to the back and chest in the places where the bronchi are projected onto the skin. Note on dissolving propolis in water and oil (fats)

In order to dilute propolis more strongly in water or oil, you have to heat this product. However, open fire is contraindicated for him, because already at 85 C the substance becomes useless, since it loses its healing properties. That is why they use a water bath that protects propolis from high temperatures.

The peculiarity of this technology is to place a container (porcelain, or made of heat-resistant glass, but in no case metal, or made of plexiglass), in which the heated composition will be located, inside another, with water. The outer container is set on fire, and the water layer serves as a kind of thermal barrier. It is not necessary to heat alcohol mixtures, since they quickly evaporate, moreover, they have properties that do not require an increase in temperature to dissolve bee glue. The only thing that is required in this case is only to shake it up sometimes.

Cooking method:

    All ingredients should be mixed in a container that fits in a water bath.

    It costs at least twenty minutes to warm the mixture, although it is better to spend half an hour to prepare it efficiently.

    All this time it is necessary to stir the liquid with a wooden spoon or stick. Do not forget that using metal objects is harmful to obtain a quality end product.

After the specified period is over, the solution should be filtered with a triple layer of bandage, or gauze from a heavy sediment. The bee glue extract can be stored for up to two weeks in the regular compartment of the refrigerator. It can be used both externally and internally, rinsing the throat, but the norms cannot be neglected. The prepared liquid can be used in the treatment of various diseases, from the common cold to stomach ulcers.

Contraindications for propolis

Bee glue can only be dangerous for people prone to allergies. In all other cases, the main thing is to observe the correct dosage. Even with liver, kidney and biliary tract diseases, propolis can accelerate recovery. You just need to remember that in a very concentrated form, it is difficult to digest.

In what form is propolis used for treatment?

However, it is not enough just to know what diseases can be treated with propolis; it is important to be able to choose the right remedy and apply it correctly. Propolis for therapeutic purposes can be used externally or taken internally. The most popular forms of drugs and methods of treatment with propolis are:

  • aqueous infusion and alcoholic extract of propolis;
  • oil with propolis extract;
  • ointments and pastes;
  • balms;
  • milk with propolis extract;
  • inhalation.

Due to the high cost of bee glue, there is a high likelihood of fakes, therefore, propolis extract and preparations with it are best purchased at the pharmacy or directly at the apiary.

Alcohol tincture

Alcohol solution is one of the most common propolis treatments. Care should be taken when using such a product. Treatment with an alcohol solution of propolis is permissible if the strength of the drug does not exceed 75 degrees. Before drinking such a product with propolis, it should be diluted with water.

You can prepare an alcoholic extract of propolis yourself:

  1. grind 10 g of bee glue, heat it in a water bath;
  2. separately warm up to 50 degrees 100 ml of medical alcohol;
  3. combine the ingredients together, without removing from the water bath, mix thoroughly until a homogeneous solution;
  4. remove from heat, filter the composition through special paper with cotton wool or several layers of gauze;
  5. pour everything into a tinted glass container and seal well.

The alcoholic solution literally "draws out" all the beneficial substances from propolis, so their content in the liquid reaches its maximum concentration, and the treatment will be very effective.

For oral administration, dissolve 20-60 drops of propolis extract in half a glass of water, tea or milk. It is necessary to drink the composition one hour before meals. The optimal number of doses is 3 times a day. An alcoholic extract of propolis is also used externally in the form of compresses, sprays, rubbing directly on the affected areas.

Water solution

For some categories of people, including children, the use of alcoholic tincture is prohibited, so they have to look for other methods of treatment with propolis, for example, the use of its aqueous solution. It is convenient that such a remedy does not need to be diluted, it is already ready for use, and the medicinal properties of propolis do not disappear anywhere. However, there is also a drawback - a short shelf life (no more than a week).

The recipe for propolis water extract is simple:

  1. boil water, let it settle and pour it into an enamel or glass container;
  2. add crushed bee glue there at the rate of 1 part of honey product to 2 parts of liquid;
  3. put the dishes in a water bath and heat the contents (at a temperature of about 80 degrees) for an hour;
  4. after an hour, remove the composition with propolis extract from the heat and let it settle for 6 hours;
  5. strain and store the solution under the same conditions as the alcoholic extract of propolis.

You can take an aqueous solution of propolis in the same way as an alcohol tincture. But for washing and rinsing mucous membranes, it must be diluted with water.

Oil with propolis extract

Another method of propolis treatment is the preparation and use of oil. It's easy to make it at home:

  1. melt 1 kg of butter in an enamel bowl;
  2. grind 150 g of bee glue separately and add this powder to the oil;
  3. warm up the ingredients for 30 minutes at a temperature of 80 degrees, remembering to stir them at intervals of 5 minutes;
  4. while the oil composition has not cooled down, it must be laid out in glass jars with tight lids, while the lower wax layer is removed.

During the preparation of this product, propolis transfers all its medicinal properties to the oil. Store the finished product in the refrigerator.

Treatment with propolis oil for the following ailments is common:

  • ulcers of the intestine and stomach - take 1 teaspoon of oil with propolis 1-1.5 hours before meals, the duration of therapy is 3-4 weeks;
  • for tonsillitis and pulmonary diseases, it is necessary to take 1 teaspoon of the drug 2-3 times a day one hour before meals, treatment with propolis can last from 4 to 10 months.

It is allowed to consume no more than 1 kg of oil with propolis per month.

Ointment with propolis extract

Treatment of skin ailments with propolis ointment is very popular. To make this drug you need:

  1. melt 100 g of butter, and then bring it to a boil;
  2. add 20 g of crushed bee glue to it;
  3. simmer everything over low heat until the solid particles of the propolis extract melt well and form a homogeneous composition.

Propolis ointment is the simplest and most harmless remedy for treatment, it is used in the same way as a regular cream. The drug helps to relieve and reduce pain in joints and back. For this ointment with propolis extract must be applied to the affected areas of the body with a thin layer. It will also help with non-healing wounds, cracks in the skin, burns and eczema; for this, bandages with the drug should be applied to sore spots. Effective treatment with propolis ointment for trophic ulcers and varicose veins.

Milk with propolis extract

Propolis extract can be used together with milk in the treatment of many diseases. To prepare such a mixture, you must:

  1. boil 1 liter of milk and cool it;
  2. grind 70 g of solid propolis extract;
  3. stir the ingredients (preferably by hand, and not with a mixer or blender) for at least 10 minutes, the composition should become homogeneous;
  4. remove wax and store the medicine in the refrigerator.

Propolis extract dissolved in milk should be taken 20 minutes before meals on a dessert spoon. The remedy is effective in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and upper respiratory tract, it will help lower cholesterol and reduce menstrual pain, relieve fatigue and have a calming effect on the psyche.

Pure product

Propolis can also be used in its pure form. The easiest way to get all the useful elements from the composition of bee glue is to chew it. This product has a very dense consistency, but saliva dissolves it well. However, due to the peculiarities of its composition, propolis extract is heavily processed by the human digestive tract, so it is not recommended to swallow it.

Chewing propolis is very useful, as a result of this, lymph flow and blood circulation improve, immunity becomes stronger, pathogens and harmful microorganisms die, gum diseases pass. However, the session should not last more than 20 minutes, otherwise there is a risk of burning the mucous membranes of the oral cavity. With a sore and sore throat, propolis will also show its healing properties, for this you just need to suck on a piece of bee glue. After a couple of procedures, significant relief will already be felt. With aching toothache, you need to take a pea-sized piece of the product in your mouth and hold it near the root of the tooth.

When applied externally, pure propolis will help eliminate calluses on different parts of the body, accelerate the healing process of wounds, fractures or dislocations. For treatment, it is necessary to make a cake from a small piece of propolis, knead it with your hands until it is soft, put it on the sore spot and bandage it tightly. You can keep such a bandage up to 3 days.

Inhalation

Inhalation with propolis is effective in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract - tracheitis, bronchitis, sinusitis and rhinitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis. To do this, combine 40 g of beeswax and 60 g of propolis extract, put everything in an aluminum dish with a volume of about 300 ml and place it in a water bath. Water vapor, together with useful phytoncides, will begin to rise to the top, it is with them that you need to breathe, covering your head with a towel. The duration of a propolis treatment session is 15 minutes, the procedures should be carried out twice a day until the moment of recovery.

For the treatment of sinusitis, inhalation with an alcoholic extract of propolis will be effective, it is prepared as follows: add ½ tsp to a saucepan of boiling water. tincture, wrapped in a towel, lower your head and inhale the vapors. The procedure takes 15 minutes.

Contraindications and precautions

Propolis treatment should be carried out with caution, since this substance is very active, and when using it, there is a possibility of an allergic reaction. As a result, it is possible not to cure the disease, but, on the contrary, to aggravate the condition. The main risk group includes people with hypersensitivity and. Before you start taking propolis, you need to conduct a test: take a small piece of the product and apply it to the skin in the elbow area, if there is no itching, swelling and redness, then the product can be used.

In addition, you should carefully take propolis in the presence of the following pathologies:

  • with kidney stones;
  • with diseases of the biliary tract and liver;
  • with pancreatitis.

In all other cases, propolis treatment has no contraindications. The product will become an excellent medicine and a means of preventing various ailments, will help strengthen the immune system, rejuvenate and restore the body.

Few people think that plants are living organisms that have their own immunity. To maintain it, many of them secrete resinous substances with strong antibacterial properties. The bees collect this product and process it with their glands - this is how propolis is obtained (uza, bee glue). According to some studies, propolis is a residual product during the first phase of pollen digestion. The composition of bee glue is not fully understood, but practice has shown that propolis cures most of the known diseases and serves as an excellent means of preventing them.

The bees themselves are used as a disinfectant: for filling up cracks, covering up the entrance, disposing of foreign objects. For example, insects that have penetrated a pest can be pinched to death and completely covered with propolis, since they cannot independently remove it from their house. The bee hive is sterile precisely because of propolis, which bees add in scanty quantities even to honey sealing caps ().

Freshly harvested propolis resembles a resin that is pliable at high temperatures and brittle when frozen. The color of bee glue can be from gray and yellowish to various shades of brown, depending on the location and composition of the plants, the degree of pollution, shelf life and even the place of deposition in the bee house. Propolis has a strong characteristic smell - it is by this smell that you can most often determine the naturalness of the product. Bee glue tastes bitter, with a characteristic tingling of taste buds.

To date, the composition of propolis has not been fully clarified: among the 200 identified compounds, 16 classes of organic components have been identified. It is their multiplicity that provides a wide range of useful properties of propolis. As part of bee glue:

  • 50-60% plant resins and pollen balsam;
  • 30% wax;
  • 10% aromatic and essential oils;
  • 5% other substances (micro and macronutrients, steroids, vitamins, ketones, quinones, sugars).

The high healing qualities of bee glue are explained by the presence in its composition of enzymes (enzymes), essential oils, a wide range of essential microelements, amino acids, flavonoids. Previously unknown antimicrobial substances have been found in propolis, which are active not only against bacteria, but also against other microorganisms: viruses, fungi, protozoa.

Important! Chemical composition Propolis can vary depending on various factors, but bee glue, even in small quantities, has exceptional properties to eliminate a wide variety of painful manifestations.

The strength of bee glue can be judged by the following fact: propolis does not lose its qualities even after boiling for an hour. This significantly increases the value of the bee product and allows you to use it for the preparation of a wide variety of products.

A description of the medicinal properties of propolis can be presented as a list:

  • Antimicrobial (antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal);
  • Immunostimulating and immunocorrective;
  • Anti-inflammatory;
  • Pain reliever;
  • Antioxidant;
  • Fortifying.

Propolis preparations are used in the prevention and treatment of a number of pathological conditions:

For internal use:

  • For infectious diseases: from a common cold to tuberculosis;
  • With pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract: gastritis, ulcers, diseases of the gallbladder and liver;
  • For problems with the heart and blood vessels: atherosclerosis, ischemia, heart failure, prevention of stroke and heart attack;
  • For diseases of the genitourinary system: prostate adenoma, cystitis, inflammation of the vagina, fallopian tubes, ovaries;
  • With neuropsychiatric disorders: neuralgia, depression, nervousness, sleep disorders (in combination with other drugs).

For external use:

  • For dermatological problems: wounds and ulcers, acne, herpes rash, fungal infections, psoriasis (with simultaneous ingestion);
  • For diseases of the oropharynx: inflammation of the mucous membranes (bad breath), inflammation of the gums and toothache, inflammation of the pharynx, larynx, tonsils;
  • For ear and eye inflammation: otitis media, mild forms of conjunctivitis and marginal blepharitis, as well as barley;
  • For circulatory disorders: varicose veins, hemorrhoids;
  • For rheumatic lesions: joints, soft and muscle tissues;
  • With injuries of the spine and intervertebral discs.

Important!It is impossible to fully enumerate from what else propolis helps, however, even the prophylactic use of funds based on it has an extremely beneficial effect on all vital organs.

When using drugs based on propolis, contraindications should be given maximum attention - the product can show strong allergenic properties. Persons prone to allergic reactions or intolerance to other beekeeping products should give up propolis first. For those who are not sure, you can conduct a provocative test: apply a little product on the soft palate and wait 30 minutes.

Contraindications to the use of propolis are the following conditions:

  • Severe pathologies of internal organs (liver, kidneys, etc.);
  • Atonic bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis;
  • The presence of neoplasms;
  • Dermatitis and eczema.

Important!In each specific case, persons with serious somatic diseases or pathologies with an allergenic factor should consult an apitherapist. Propolis treatment is used as a primary or additional therapy, depending on the diagnosis and doctor's recommendations.

Dosage forms of propolis

Of all the available dosage forms, it is the most popular - its healing properties are enhanced thanks to an alcohol base. In addition, this component provides a long shelf life in almost all conditions. The only thing that should be observed is that the tincture is protected from sun rays... However, propolis tincture is not the only option for preparing a drug. There are several more dosage forms of propolis.

To prepare 20% tincture, take propolis (100 g) and rubbing alcohol (500 ml):

  • Propolis is pre-frozen - this is how it becomes fragile and crumbles more easily;
  • Rub the bee glue on a fine grater and place in a glass container;
  • Pour alcohol and cover with a lid;
  • Place the container with the tincture in a cool place protected from light;
  • Insist for 14 days. shaking occasionally;
  • Filter and store in a dark place.

Alcohol tincture can be prepared with different concentrations, but most often a 10-20% solution is used in treatment. When buying from a pharmacy, make sure that the propolis preparation is for internal use - the manufacturer notifies about this.

Water extract

In a number of severe pathologies, treatment with alcohol-containing drugs is contraindicated. In this case, a water extract of propolis is prepared - although the period of its use is much shorter, nevertheless, the value of such a remedy is in no way inferior to alcohol tincture:

  • To prepare a 10% solution, place 10 g of crushed propolis in a glass, ceramic or enamel dish and add 100 ml of water;
  • The container with the future tincture, while stirring, is kept in a water bath for about 1 hour;
  • Leave to cool completely, filter and pour into a dark glass container, store in the refrigerator.

Important!The shelf life of an aqueous extract of propolis is much shorter than that of an alcoholic tincture: the duration of preservation of properties in such a product is only 10 days. , while the presence of alcohol allows the tincture to be used for 3-4 years.

To prepare propolis ointment, use peach, apricot or sunflower oil. However, the agent has the greatest effect when using sea buckthorn oil:

  • Pour 170 ml of oil into an enamel bowl, bring to a boil;
  • Add 30 g of powdered propolis, stir and bring to a boil again;
  • When warm, the product is filtered and placed in a glass container.

Store propolis ointment for only 8-12 months. under normal conditions: without access to light at room t. Used to treat skin diseases, wounds, burns, bedsores.

Propolis oil

Such a product can be used for external or internal use, depending on the type of oil. For example, burdock oil with propolis can only be used for external use.

For internal use, a preparation is prepared based on high-quality butter:

  • At the required 10% concentration of the agent, 10 g of propolis ground into powder is added to 90 g of oil;
  • In an enamel bowl, the mixture is placed in a water bath, where it is heated for 30 minutes. (at t +60 + 70 ° С) or 20 min. (at t +70 + 80 ° С);
  • The finished product is transferred to a glass container and placed in a refrigerator.

Important!Propolis oil can also be used externally - in this case, the concentration of bee glue is increased to 40%.

The benefits of propolis are best manifested in combination with milk - a component of many remedies for the treatment of colds and stomach diseases:

  • Boil 1 liter of milk in an enamel bowl;
  • Add 50 g of propolis powder to it;
  • With stirring, remove the floating impurities from the surface and wait for the complete dissolution of propolis (about 10 minutes);
  • Cool the product slightly, filter thoroughly and, after cooling completely in an airtight container, store it in the refrigerator for a maximum of 3 days.

Important!The course of treatment with milk with propolis does not exceed 10 days. (3 rubles per day according to st. L.) If necessary, you can use an aqueous tincture of propolis for treatment: for adults per 100 ml of milk 20 drops, for children - 1-2. In this case, the milk is not boiled, but simply heated or slightly cooled after boiling.

Propolis honey

When mixed with honey, the effect of using the product with propolis is enhanced several times - after all, both products have exceptional healing properties:

  • To prepare 10% of the drug, take 10 g of crushed propolis and mix it with 90 g of honey;
  • The resulting product is heated in a water bath, not exceeding t + 37.5 ° C, so as not to destroy the beneficial properties of honey;
  • After complete dissolution of propolis, the mixture is slightly cooled, filtered and transferred to a glass container.

Store the remedy for no more than a year in a dark place, well sealed.

Important!For easier dissolution, only propolis is first put in a water bath, and honey is added later.

For the preparation of candles, propolis extract is used: a water extract from equal amounts of bee glue and water:

  • To 1 part of propolis extract add 4 parts of any animal fat;
  • Everything is thoroughly mixed and cylinders 1 cm in diameter are rolled out on parchment paper;
  • Cut into pieces approximately 3 cm long and sharpen at one end;
  • Finished stoppers are cooled and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Alternatively, a mixture of propolis (50 g), wax (50 g) and animal fat (200 g) is heated until completely dissolved in a water bath, after which candles are formed.

Oil-propolis balm

To prepare a product of 20% concentration, you will need:

  • unsalted butter - 10 g;
  • any vegetable oil - 70 g;
  • crushed propolis - 20 g.

All ingredients are thoroughly ground in glass or porcelain dishes, kneaded and stored in a hermetically sealed container in the refrigerator. The balm is effective in treating the common cold (in the form of tampons) and various chronic lesions of the skin.

Important!Spoiled propolis is not suitable for treatment. Loss of medicinal properties can occur due to improper storage conditions, contact with chemicals, contaminants, multiple heating and cooling. Spoiled bee glue loses its stickiness and vice versa becomes brittle even at normal t, it is easy to crush it with your fingers. Such propolis is unusable and should be thrown away.

One of the most simple ways the use of bee glue - fresh use. To do this, it is enough to chew a pea of propolis the size of a match head until the bitter taste and characteristic tingling disappear completely. In the absence of contraindications and side effects, propolis is used:

  • with upper respiratory tract infections: angina, tonsillitis, stomatitis (up to 5 g per day);
  • with gastritis, it is recommended to swallow even the remains of bee glue (no more than 5 g);
  • to increase immunity for pregnant women and children: 1-2 g and not every day.

Chewing treatment occurs by the transfer of all medicinal substances from propolis directly to the patient's body, while the remains (with rare exceptions) are recommended to be spit out, especially with regular use. However, not everyone can use this method, so propolis preparations are very popular.

The antibacterial and antiseptic properties of bee glue have found application primarily in the treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract:

  • With tracheitis, bronchitis, rhinitis, laryngitis, etc. For inhalation, 30 g of propolis and 20 g of wax are placed in a ceramic container and placed in a water bath. Breathe in vapors saturated with phytoncides, in tech. 15 minutes. (morning and evening). With bronchial asthma, it is recommended to carry out procedures up to 2 months. For colds, additionally take 35 drops of 20% tincture in 50 ml of water three times a day;
  • With tuberculosis.The effectiveness of propolis treatment is achieved with a gradual increase in the concentration of bee glue: they start with propolis oil with 10% propolis content, later move on to 15%.   • Strictly observe the dosage;
  • Take the product only in diluted form: in a glass of warm tea or milk;
  • It is most effective when taken on an empty stomach or in the middle of a break between meals.

Depending on the type of disease, propolis treatment is carried out in the following order:

  • With gastritis.For the treatment of gastritis with high acidity, 40 drops of alcoholic tincture (20%) are taken three times a day for 14 days. At low acidity, a mixture of honey, Kalanchoe juice and alcoholic tincture (10%) is made in the proportion: 78: 15: 7. All ingredients are mixed and heated in a water bath until they are completely dissolved. Take 3 p. per day for 1 tbsp. l. at least a month;

Important!Alcohol tincture of propolis in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases is used with extreme caution and only after a comprehensive examination.

Skin problems can be not only pathological in nature, but the antibacterial and antiseptic properties of propolis, and in this case, are at their best. Bee glue preparations are effective for:

  • removing calluses - a small cake of warm propolis is applied to the steamed problem area of the skin and left for several days (3-5). After removing the compress, the corn is painlessly removed;
  • seborrheic eczema - disease of young children under 5 months. The use of propolis ointment in the treatment gives good results. However, more chronic pathologies have a low cure rate (5-11);
  • hair loss - total or nested. Apply 30% propolis ointment in combination with some medicinal herbs and onion masks;

  • varicose ulcers - using a 15-20% propolis-based ointment when changing dressings every other day allows you to achieve stable results after about 2 months.

Important!Bee glue preparations are used for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes for ulcers, wounds, bedsores. The disinfecting properties of the bee product help in getting rid of nail fungus: in the form of trays and ointments, wipes and bandages. Only in this case, it is necessary to simultaneously decontaminate shoes and clothes (socks, tights, golfs), as well as to process those surfaces where bare feet could step - in the bath and toilet. In this case, it is necessary to check all family members so as not to transmit the infection to each other - only in this case the treatment will be effective.

Prostate adenoma and prostatitis

In the treatment of problems in the male genital area, various drugs with propolis are used:

  • Susositories are administered at night in anus... The procedures are carried out until complete recovery. Additional medicinal ingredients can be added to the candles: medicinal herbs (St. John's wort, motherwort, bearberry, etc.), honey, wax. The composition of the candles is changed every 2 months. ;
  • Native propolis is taken on a general basis - no more than 5 g per day, the rest is spit out;
  • Aqueous propolis extract is taken within 3-4 months. under Art. l. in the morning, afternoon, evening, shortly before meals.

Important!When treating chronic forms of the disease, it is recommended to use an integrated approach and do not take breaks. In this case, 3 out of 4 patients are completely cured, and 1 feels a significant improvement.

Diseases of the genitourinary sphere in women, especially young women, often give complications to their general health, and this, in turn, affects the health of future generations. That is why the use of propolis preparations for women is preferable - because it is completely natural:

  • With uterine fibroids. In this case, a complex treatment is carried out: the intake of an aqueous extract of bee glue for 2 months. (three times a day, 1 tbsp. l.) in combination with propolis balls (small pieces of propolis or similar pharmacy medicine), placed in the vagina overnight. Such procedures are carried out according to the scheme: 10 days - treatment, 5 - break;
  • With endometriosis. The therapy is carried out according to an integrated scheme: a combination of vaginal suppositories (pure propolis or mixed with honey) with douching or tampons moistened with solutions of alcohol or water tinctures. In this case, the concentration is made minimal so as not to burn the mucous membrane with alcohol;
  • With an ovarian cyst. Only untreated forms of the disease are amenable to therapy: propolis ointment with the addition of boiled chicken egg yolk is used. The product is impregnated with gauze tampons and placed in the vagina at night for several weeks.

Important!However, the final decision on the treatment of gynecological problems with propolis is best made after consultation with your doctor. Perhaps he will even advise taking extracts or tinctures inside - if there are no contraindications.

The effectiveness of drugs based on propolis is beyond any doubt. This is evidenced by numerous reviews, centuries-old experience of beekeepers and even the presence of preparations with bee glue in pharmacies. In addition, I can only say that the author of these lines cured nasal polyps and atherosclerosis with propolis tincture. It is only important to comply with the dose, regularity and stock up on the approval of the attending physician.
