Positioning

The POP line was initially positioned by Alcatel as low-cost smartphones with attractive features, bright colors and a competitive price in its class, which could be considered one of the best. The departure from the old strategy means that, as with other products, the company is trying not only to give a low cost, but pays attention to the price / quality ratio, varying various parameters. These experiments lead to the emergence of various modifications of devices. Some of them are not intended for everyone, as they have unnecessary, not always in demand functions. For example, you can look at the fourth generation of the POP line, in which the 4S plays the role of a flagship that has a fingerprint sensor, a fast processor, increased camera resolution, and NFC. For many consumers, this version of the model is not as interesting as an analogue with fewer options, but also at a lower price. Expanding the lineup in the area of various variations of the base model, the company deliberately reduces sales of conditional flagships, as they understand that the demand for them will be less than for cheaper options with a comparable design, and they are also aware of the fierce competition from other companies in the average price range. segment.

I see the POP 4S model as an offer for a loyal Alcatel audience, and the device is devoid of any noticeable, bright chips that distinguish older models, for example, IDOL 4s. There are no stereo speakers, there is no way to talk on the phone, taking it as you like, but there is a fingerprint sensor, which for some reason is not added to the flagship. Unfortunately, this device is not the most balanced in its price group, which rather characterizes the market and the oversupply on it, similar models are a dime a dozen. However, for those who are loyal to the Alcatel brand, this smartphone may be an interesting choice.

Design, dimensions, controls

We are used to the fact that smartphones are increasingly non-separable, the case cannot be opened. In POP 4S, the back cover is easily removed, and inside there is a slot for a memory card, as well as two slots for SIM cards (nanoSIM / microSIM). At the same time, the battery is made non-removable, so it cannot be removed. Based on this, the collapsible case cannot be written down either as pluses or minuses, let's consider it just a design feature.

As usual, the model will be available in different colors, including very bright ones, but by default it looks the same as in our review.

Outwardly, the latest Alcatel models very much remind me of the Galaxy Note 5, there is a rounding of the back panel, the device fits well in the hand, but at the same time it is large and not suitable for everyone, in the phablet category this is always one of the conditional complaints (152x77x7.9 mm, weight 145 grams ).

Compared to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

The quality of plastic and design is excellent, but it is plastic, there is no metal. The side edging has a metal-look insert, but analogues in this segment have either all-metal cases or metal frames, as in the Samsung J7 2016. This makes the POP 4S not so attractive for those who eat into details and want to get the most out of it. your money.

Microphones are located on the upper and lower ends, the noise reduction system works well. The microUSB connector is located on the bottom end, and on the right side there is a paired volume control button, as well as an on / off button. The 3.5 mm jack is on the top end. The assembly is excellent, which is typical for Alcatel.

A fingerprint sensor is inscribed in the physical button under the screen, it works on touch. Fingerprints are recognized quickly, there are no difficulties with this.

Display

Based on the characteristics, we have a regular IPS display with a diagonal of 5.5 inches, FullHD resolution and automatic backlight brightness control. The screen has no special features, but it should be noted that it can be whitish, this is an average quality matrix, which is puzzling, in this class of devices many manufacturers already install more expensive displays.

Again, without a direct comparison, you will not see this difference, you will be comfortable. But this is clearly not the best display in this class of devices, it is ordinary. In the sun, the screen is easy to read, but there are no special technologies to improve the picture, which is clearly visible when shooting on camera. What you see and what you get is very different in color. As you already understood, I am not enthusiastic about this display, it is average.

Battery

The device is able to work one full day at an average load, with a moderate one - 1.5 days, which does not look like a record, I attribute it to the chipset. Li-Ion battery capacity - 2960 mAh. Claimed standby time - up to 480 hours, talk time - up to 13 hours.

Time of continuous video playback - 7 hours.

The device has a built-in utility for limiting power consumption (disables certain functions), it turns on by default when it reaches 15% charge. Also appeared "Battery Optimization", in fact, this is a limitation of the background work of applications, you can add or remove them from the list, something similar we see on the flagships from Samsung.

Full battery charging time is about 80 minutes, Quick Charge technology is supported.

Memory, RAM, hardware platform

The device has 2 GB of RAM, built-in 16 GB (the system and applications occupy about 5 GB), plus you can install memory cards up to 64 GB.

Chipset Mediatek MT6755M, 8-core (4 cores up to 1.8 GHz, 4 cores up to 1 GHz), Mali T-860 GPU. The performance of this solution is average, which can be seen in synthetic tests. But in everyday life, you won't notice it in the menu, everything works pretty fast.

Camera

The front camera has a flash for selfies, its resolution is 5 megapixels. As standard for the latest generations of devices, there are skin improvers, facial contours, and similar trifles. They can be turned off. The photo quality is good.

The main camera has a phase autofocus, resolution - 13 megapixels. The image quality is not perfect, but quite good for a device of this level. But somehow it is impossible to single out the camera, there is a funny function when, when shooting, you hear bleating, the horns of a steam locomotive and so notify that you have taken a picture. For children and teenagers, otherwise it is not needed. See sample pictures and photos below.

Communication options

The model supports 4G (LTE FDD 3/7/8/20), also has NFC, Wi-Fi, BT 4.2, USB & BT Modem Tethering - in a word, a standard set of technologies, without any special features.

Software features

There is no point in talking about standard Android applications separately, you can read about them in a separate review.

Alcatel tries not to change the standard Android much, but still brings its own changes, including on Android 6. In the main menu mode, the icons have a circle, and when pressed, a mini-window opens. If you want to open the entire application, click on the button again.

The phone has FM-radio, the set of functions is typical. Voice recorder, calculator, compass, as well as a built-in memory manager, AVG antivirus.

"Mix" was chosen as a music application, in it you can not only listen to music, but also mix it, apply different effects, just turn the device in a horizontal orientation. Is it necessary? For young people, such entertainment may be suitable, but this is a toy that should not be overestimated, turning into a DJ will not work with it, although the idea of \u200b\u200bthis can be formed. Unlike the older IDOL, there are no separate equalizers here and the sound control is implemented poorer. Yes, and the device sounds simpler, the sound is worse.

There is also a corporate screen with various news, exchange rates and applications, you can customize it as you wish.

Impressions

There are no complaints about the quality of voice transmission, the volume of the call is very good, it is clear and vociferous. The vibrating alert is average in strength.

The model will be on sale in June at a price of about 19,000 rubles. And here the question immediately arises that there are many analogues on the market, even last year's IDOL 3, which is higher in class, turns out to be the twin of this device, but at the same time it costs about 14.5 thousand rubles in MTS. In fact, it is worth looking at this device, as it wins in terms of screen, it is slightly better, and everything else, plus or minus, is the same. The only difference is the fingerprint sensor, which can be considered a significant feature both for this price segment and for POP 4S.

Just to show other alternatives, I will mention the Galaxy J7 2016, which features a SuperAMOLED screen, it is a cut above in picture quality, with a comparable battery, the device plays video up to 22 hours, and better withstand loads in different operating modes. At a price of 20,000 rubles, the J7 does not look so attractive, but these are devices of the same class, and someone may like a radically longer battery life.

Another very interesting offer is the Meizu M3 Note, this device has a fingerprint sensor, a 4100 mAh battery, good design and a price of 17,000 rubles for the younger version. Of the minuses - only Android 5.1. In terms of price / quality ratio, this device looks very interesting.

There are a huge number of devices in this price segment, for every taste. I've only listed the most notable ones, and they are already on store shelves, which means that POP 4S is entering a rather busy market segment. And no one really expects this model, plus competition from its own IDOL 3 5.5 inches. I think that sales will be moderate, the model is passing, obviously not a bestseller.

It doesn't matter to us what city you are in, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, or any other, we will show you the prices of your particular city, and you will simply choose the best one and buy profitably.

(If you see other models or an empty space in the Ya.Market list, then this device is not for sale)

Problem solved

Advantages: ➕ The camera is excellent, it shoots small text even through a file, which is what I needed. You can even out tones while shooting. ➕ High-quality color reproduction, high resolution ➕ Good firmware, no glitches noticed ➕ I almost never use the battery during blocking ➕ You can expand the internal memory using SD (although SD after this can only work in this phone) - when you connect a new SD- the phone itself offers to do this ➕ Thin, nothing superfluous in the design, but everything is very original, for example, an unusual shape of the speaker Disadvantages: ➖ Weak speaker, music squeals and you can’t always hear the phone ringing ➖ Connects to the computer with some kind of backyard: you have to choose he is a camera, or a player, or a disk, but not a drive. We need dances with a tambourine💃 to transfer files (except pictures) from a computer to a phone. There is a special program for the reverse process, Smart Suite, downloaded on the official website of Alcatel ➖ Not very friendly with bluetooth, again, to connect to a bluetooth headset, you need to dance with a tambourine💃 (there were no such problems with the previous phone). 💡I'll tell you a secret: first we connect the headset to the phone according to the instructions, then turn everything off, and each reconnection you need to turn on the headset first, and then bluetooth on the phone ➖ Weak built-in reading of QR codes, small ones do not want to read, I advise you to install a separate application for this functions Comment: The phone was chosen according to its characteristics, and this one justifiably made a high statement about itself. But it’s not even a left-wing Chinese company that is hard to believe, although the price is the same! The battery, in principle, holds its 2500mAh, enough for a day with active use, for two or three with mine😋 It is difficult to remove the memory card, you have to remove the battery, but it can be more reliable. In general, the whole phone pleases inside - under the cover everything is logical and very neatly arranged, wisely. All nests are of good quality, there were no problems with them. USB from below - water will not flow. All functions are a little difficult to hide (but I think all androids sin with this), but there are a lot of them, they work like a computer. I was disappointed by the lack of wallpaper scrolling, but apparently it's not the phone's fault. To listen to music loudly, buy speakers - they obviously saved on sound for the sake of image quality. Clarification with film: you need a special grainy film for this particular model - then the sensor works well. Wi-Fi is not enough closer to the end of the zone, it would be better to be with him with a powerful router. Reliable, high-quality smartphone, replaced my computer in 50% of tasks👍

Introduction

Alcatel has a range of mobile phones: IDOL, POP and HERO. In addition, for example, in POP, there are, let's say, subsections POP S and POP C. The first ones are relatively expensive devices, and the second ones are budget ones, but the larger the number at the end, the cooler the gadget. In this case, we will consider POP C9, i.e. the device currently at the head of the POP Cx subsection.

Design, dimensions, controls

Despite the bright design of Alcatel POP C9 smartphones, in general, the devices have a typical “average” design of all phablets: large sizes, rounded shapes, a lot of plastic and chrome inserts on the edge, beloved by all manufacturers. The gadget resembles some Samsung, Fly, and Huawei, and practically does not differ from POP C7.

Dimensions POP C9 - 150.95 x 77.5 x 9.5mm, i.e. not at all small and thin. But most of all, the weight is surprising - almost 190 grams. I had a metal 6-inch Explay Diamond monster on my review, it weighed 185 grams. It seems that inside the C9 is a lead battery. Joke. The frames on the right and left are relatively thick - 5 mm each, so it is not as comfortable in the hand as we would like. However, thanks to the sloping edges, the ergonomics of the design are slightly improved.

The front side is covered with glass. It is durable, and during testing only micro-scratches appeared on it. It should be borne in mind that the smartphone "lived" in a backpack with other devices. Inside lining is white. The display surface is not too easily soiled, apparently, there is an oleophobic coating, the finger slides without problems.

The edging, as I said earlier, is made of chrome-plated plastic, rises slightly above the screen, thereby partially protecting the surface. The back cover is non-removable, white, glossy. It seemed slippery to me. Fingerprints remain on it, but are not particularly noticeable.

The company's website states that POP C9 is available in several colors: pink, red, blue, white, black, gray. However, as always happens with new models, firstly, the smartphone is sold only in two cellular networks, and secondly, there is only a gray device.

Assembled POP C9 perfectly: no squeaks, no backlash, you can feel the solidity of the case. When squeezed in the hand, the body of the phone does not crackle, when pressing on the back central area, the cover is not pressed through to the battery.

On top is the speaker. The volume is slightly above average, in noisy places it may be hard to hear, especially in the subway, on the street you have to turn the volume up to the maximum. The timbre is pleasant, not booming, the interlocutor is heard legibly and clearly. Echo is missing. In general, quite a good speaker, but the volume could be a little higher.

To the left of the speaker is the front camera, to the right are the light and proximity sensors, they work correctly.

Below - the usual buttons "Back", "Home" and "Menu". There is no backlight, so the buttons are hard to see at night.

At the bottom are micro-USB and the main microphone, at the top - 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones or a headset.

The power button is located on the right edge just below the center. It is almost recessed into the case, the pressure is soft, the stroke is small. The same type of volume rocker key, it is slightly higher. Even higher is a slot for a memory card. It closes with a plastic cap.

Two slots for SIM-cards are located on the left edge under a plastic cap.

MicroSIM type connectors, both slots function in 3G, but SIM cards operate according to the following scheme: 3G-SIM1 / 2G-SIM2 or 2G-SIM1 / 3G-SIM2. Switching between 2G / 3G takes about 10 seconds, that is, it will not work quickly.

On the reverse side of the POP C9: a second microphone, a camera that rises a couple of millimeters above the body and is framed by a chrome plastic rim, a flash and a speakerphone.

Display

Manufacturers still can't calm down, so they use huge screen sizes in almost every second of their products. The Alcatel OneTouch POP C9 has a 5.5-inch (139mm) display. The physical size is 69x121 mm, the bezel is 11 mm at the top and 18 mm at the bottom.

The resolution of 540x960 pixels for such a diagonal, it seems to me, is already not enough, although the picture looks good, and pixelation at a distance of 30-40 cm is invisible. Density - 200 pixels per inch.

The backlight brightness of the display matrix is adjusted either manually or automatically. The range is relatively wide, but at the minimum brightness the glow is still large. The maximum brightness is enough for comfortable reading on the street, while in the sun the screen saves only a diagonal of 5.5 inches.

The matrix is made using IPS technology, unfortunately, not OGS: there is an air gap between the protective glass and the screen. The color rendition is natural, the saturation is calm. The viewing angles are wide, but under certain inclinations the color rendition is broken: either it goes into blue, then into yellowness. In general, the typical behavior of inexpensive IPS matrices.

The capacitive touch layer works out up to 5 simultaneous touches. The sensitivity is good.

Battery

This model uses a 2500 mAh lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. The battery is non-removable.

The manufacturer indicates his data on the "life" of the battery, which I believe, since our results came out approximately the same:

  • talk time: up to 8 hours (2G), 4 hours (3G)
  • standby time: 560 hours (2G), 550 hours (3G)
  • working time in music player mode: 24 hours

In the 720p video playback mode, the device worked for about 5 hours. The average time is about 10-12 hours without active use of 3G.

The device takes about 3.5 hours to charge.

In the settings there is an item called "Super Energy Saving". It is very similar to the features in HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5. When almost all applications are turned off, the brightness of the matrix backlight decreases, and only the main ones become available to you: SMS, calls, calendar, address book. In this mode, Alcatel works for about 3 days.

Communication options

The smartphone operates in cellular networks 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and 3G (850/9001800//2100 MHz).

Available Bluetooth version 4.0 for file and voice transfer. There is wireless Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. The device, of course, can be used as an access point (Wi-Fi Hotspot) or modem.

The device has GPS. In the "cold" mode, the first satellites are determined in less than one minute, in the "hot" mode - three times faster. Sensitivity is average: indoors it can hardly find a couple of satellites, near a window - up to 4, outdoors the device instantly finds more than 8 satellites. I did not observe any problems with GPS, everything works fine.

Memory and memory card

1 GB of RAM is installed inside. On average, a little less than 600 MB is free. 4 GB are allocated for data storage, of course, about two are free. There is a slot for a memory card. The maximum volume is 32 GB.

Camera

As befits a real “android”, Alcatel C9 has two cameras: the main one is 8 MP, the front one is 1.3 MP (on the official website it is indicated that 2 MP). There is a small LED flash.

The quality of the camera is mediocre, mainly complaints about color reproduction and a narrow dynamic range. It is worth praising the camera for accurate focus, for the minimum focusing distance of about 7 cm, for the cool blurring of the background thanks to the F2.2 aperture.

The front camera takes photos at a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The quality is not bad. Video - 640x480 pixels at 10 fps.

The camera can record FullHD video at 30 frames per second, which is good news. Autofocus is very fast, induced from 3 cm, decent sharpness. The sound is mono, clear.

EXIF information

Video file characteristic:

  • File Format: 3gp
  • Video codec: AVC, 17 Mbps
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080, 30 fps
  • Audio codec: AAC, 128 Kbps
  • Channels: 1 channel, 48 kHz

Photo examples:

Sample photo on the front camera:

Performance and software platform

Most of these devices have a Taiwanese MediaTek chip. Smartphone Alcatel OneTouch C9 is no exception. It uses the most common MT6582 chipset among state employees recently: a Cortex-A7 processor, 28 nm, 4 cores at 1.3 GHz, a Mali-400MP2 graphics accelerator with a clock frequency of 400 MHz.

For comfortable operation of the device, this processor is more than enough. There are problems with games, but only with powerful ones like Asphalt 8. The device does not bug, does not slow down, and works relatively smoothly.

Brief information about phone parameters and performance tests (Quadrant Test, Antutu Test):

The device has an operating system Google Android ancient version 4.2.2. I'm not sure that 4.3 will be released, and even more so 4.4. Although I personally do not see any point in them, especially in inexpensive gadgets. The proprietary shell is, in fact, absent here. The icons of the main screen, settings and unlocking the display have been slightly changed (the “unlock” button “floats” in the circle, which must be moved to the sides).

Multimedia

The device has a standard music and video player, radio. The volume of the speaker is slightly above average, the quality was not pleasant: it wheezes, there are overloads, the sound is not very clear. The sound in the headphones has a high volume, the quality is good, there are no complaints. The video device plays in FullHD resolution.

Conclusion

Today Alcatel OneTouch POP C9 can be found in two mobile phone stores for the same price - 7,990 rubles. It is very difficult to draw conclusions on such inexpensive devices, because you can’t tell anything interesting about them. All C9 parameters are average: processor, memory, camera, software chips. The appearance is also ordinary, in addition, the device is available only in gray.

Equipment

The manufacturer provided the device for review in a white cardboard box with a sticker with the company name, device code name, barcodes, IMEI and the main supporting communication formats. A funny fact was that the sticker said that there was an Alcatel POP 4S 5095K in dark gray inside, which made me a little confused while getting to know the object of the review.
Along with the box was an A4 sheet with the (correct) name of the smartphone model and its specifications.

Inside, besides the phone itself, there was a 5V 2A charger, a 1m micro-USB cable for connecting to a PC, as well as in-ear headphones with two pairs of spare tips of different sizes.

Appearance

The case is made of plastic, but very high quality, like metal. Without opening the back cover, also plastic, you will not understand this.

The front panel is covered with glass. Above the display are from left to right the notification LED, front camera, light and proximity sensors, earpiece and flash.

Below the screen are touch buttons "back", "home" and "menu". The "home" key is a design element of the smartphone and fits perfectly into it. The rest are “hidden” and are highlighted along with the central button when activated directly.

On the top of the POP 4 Plus are a 3.5 mm jack and a microphone.

The manufacturer placed the physical power and volume keys on the right side of the smartphone, and they are located very high and close to each other, which is very inconvenient, especially considering the considerable size of the device.

Accordingly, there is nothing on the left side of the gadget.

At the bottom there is a microUSB connector and a second microphone.

The back panel, as mentioned earlier, is made of plastic. Painted on the outside. It is white inside. The cover has holes for the main camera, flash and speaker. The physical buttons are on the side of this panel.

The rear panel is removed quite easily, so that the user can see not only the camera and flash, but also two slots for microSIM cards, as well as a microSD card slot and a speaker. The battery is non-removable, hidden under an aluminum plate with a white sticker. You can insert and remove "sim cards" and "flash drive" at any time, the connectors are independent and conveniently located on the edge.

It is quite pleasant to hold Alcatel POP 4 Plus in hand. The device does not slip. The inconvenience during use is created only by the buttons on the right side.

Display

The presented gadget is equipped with a 5.5” screen with an IPS matrix that displays 16 million colors and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 - it may seem small for such a large display. However, this is completely invisible. The screen, like the entire front surface, is covered with glass with full lamination and an oleophobic coating, which, as usual, copes with its function to a certain degree of oiliness of the user's fingers.

Color reproduction can be adjusted by hardware in the "Display" section of the phone's settings. You can change the color temperature and choose between vivid and natural saturation modes. In general, the color reproduction looks a little dull, perhaps due to the resolution used and the screen size.

In the above situation, brightness does not come to the rescue. In conditions of excessive illumination, the phone perfectly replaces the mirror. The content displayed on the screen is barely visible, not only due to insufficient brightness, but also due to glare. Taking pictures with this device in such conditions is extremely inconvenient, almost blindly.

Multitouch support - up to 5 points.

Iron

Alcatel POP 4 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor based on the MSM8909 chipset, with four ARM Cortex-A7 cores, 1.1 GHz each. This processor was developed for devices in the price category below the average. Among its distinguishing features are the 28 nm process technology and H.265 hardware decoding, but the main feature is the presence of a built-in LTE modem, which was previously only available for Snapdragon 400 and higher.
The fact is that Alcatel POP 4 Plus differs from the usual "quartet" in screen size at the same resolution and an increased amount of operational - one and a half times, and internal - twice, memory. In this scenario, it looks strange that the phone runs on such a weak processor.

Responsible for the graphics integrated graphics core Qualcomm Adreno 304 with a maximum frequency of 409 MHz.

The test results are, to put it mildly, not very good. In 3DMark, the test recommended for this device at OpenGL ES 3.0 and 1080p unexpectedly showed a zero result. With OpenGL 2.0, things are better, but in the overall rating, this device is far from even the average result.

In practice, everything is the same. An uncontested choice between good texture quality and smooth frame transitions.

The actual amount of RAM, according to the phone, is 1.4 GB. With above-average usage, the load is around 60%. The speed of work is quite satisfactory, downloading applications does not make you wait long.

Of the 16 GB of internal memory, 11.1 GB is available to the user. If desired, the memory can be expanded with a microSD card up to 32 GB.

Software

Alcatel POP 4 Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with a modified interface by the manufacturer. The transformations have affected the main menu, which automatically categorizes applications in alphabetical order. I did not manage to return the menu to the "normal" appearance. In the settings, you can choose the effect of turning off the screen: smooth fading or “old TV”. The second one looks pretty funny.

Together with the Play Music application, a OneTouch Music Lite player is installed with the ability to listen to music, both from the phone’s memory and from the Deezer online service.

Sound

The smartphone is equipped with a speaker, which is located on the back side, at the bottom. The sound quality is mediocre, low frequencies are not audible at all, mids - a little, most of all - highs. Dry sound. However, speaker volume is good. The maximum level is 82.4 dB.

Headphones-headset in-ear type - a nice addition to the configuration of the smartphone. Listening to music is a pleasure. Pleased with the depth of "bass" and a clear surround sounding of each instrument. However, the lack of headphones is the phone control unit (remote). It is very small and has only one button, no volume controls.

The headset serves as an antenna for listening to FM radio both in headphones and through the speaker of the gadget.

Connection

The speaker is loud enough. Noise cancellation works well. When talking in a car while driving with open windows along a busy street, the interlocutor hears only the voice of the speaker, there is silence around.
The advantage is that the smartphone supports the LTE communication standard. Interestingly, where other phones do not catch 3G, the gadget catches a 4G signal. But, of course, it all depends on the carrier.
The Wi-Fi module does its job perfectly. The connection is clear even at a great distance from the router. There are no breaks.

The GPS module "saw" 24 satellites almost instantly, of which 15 "saw" it back.

Battery

Alcatel POP 4 Plus is equipped with a 2500 mAh lithium-ion battery. Checking the Threshbox test showed the autonomy of the device for almost 13 hours - a pretty good result for a smartphone with a 5.5-inch screen. Most likely, the low power consumption of the processor played the main role here.

Camera

The main camera takes photos with a resolution of up to 8 megapixels. There is a single-tone LED flash, autofocus, digital zoom. Available modes: auto, HDR, panorama, QR scanner, auto retouch. Product photography is better than landscape photography.

The front camera takes pictures up to 5 megapixels. There is a flash, digital zoom, fixed focus. Of all the modes, only automatic and auto-retouch are available.

Both cameras shoot video in HD 1280 x 720.

Results and conclusions

Alcatel decided to create another "pair", but reacted to this somewhat lazily. By increasing the display size and memory capacity of POP 4, the developers did not change the "heart" of the gadget, leaving a weak processor, low resolution for such a display, battery capacity and camera resolution.
But on the other hand, this decision is quite understandable if you look at the cost of Alcatel POP 4 Plus - at an average price of 10,500 rubles, the buyer gets a "pleasant to the touch" smartphone with a huge screen. Not every company can boast of such an achievement.
I did not find any critical shortcomings during testing of this smartphone. Yes, the graphics are lame, and the processor is rather weak by modern standards, but its power is quite enough for listening to music, surfing the Internet, taking photos and videos, and watching videos in HD quality without slowdowns. Applications quickly open and load into RAM.

Pros:

  • Affordable price
  • big screen
  • loud speaker
  • Cool headphones-headset included
  • LTE support
  • Sufficient battery capacity
Minuses:
  • Weak processor for such a large smartphone
  • Graphics performance leaves a lot to be desired
  • Insufficient display brightness
  • Insufficient color depth
