That is why Awareness is not beneficial to Darkness in general and its representatives in particular. People knew about this fact many hundreds of years ago, and even in the patristic tradition it was formulated that "a battle is being fought for the soul of man." Traces of this awareness can be found in almost all religions and esoteric movements. Even Castaneda described the "flyers" as "beings feeding on human awareness."
