In his New Year's address in the outgoing 2016, Russian President Vladimir concentrated more on words of gratitude to the Russians "for victories and achievements, for understanding and trust, for real cordial concern for Russia." At the same time, characterizing the past year, he called it difficult, however, according to the president, the difficulties rallied the people of Russia even more, and also "prompted us to discover the huge reserves of our opportunities for moving forward."

In general, Putin devoted most of his message to family values, which in the future should become the basis for the development of the country.

The President also paid special attention to those citizens of the state who could not meet New Year behind festive table in the family. However, compared to the previous address, Putin did not focus on the military personnel who protect Russia's interests in Syria, but only listed them among the representatives of other professions who, on duty on New Year's Eve, perform "their labor and military duty."

In general, it can be said that Putin's New Year's address this year is almost completely devoid of militant rhetoric, which significantly distinguishes it from past congratulations from the president.

Not a word was said about the need to fight terrorist organizations or defend Russia's interests abroad.

Vladimir Putin has focused almost entirely on the inner harmony that Russian society should strive for.

Among other things, the president spoke about the "secrets of New Year's Eve" and how "every Russian can become a magician."

“For example, each of us on New Year's Eve can become a little magician. To do this, you just need to treat your parents with love and gratitude, surround your children, your family with attention and care, respect your work colleagues, and cherish friendship. Protect truth and justice. Be merciful and help those who are waiting for support. That's the whole secret," Putin said just before the chiming clock.

Also noteworthy is the fact that this year the President changed the filming location. He wrote down his appeal while inside the Kremlin. Putin himself was in the center of the frame, the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin is visible in the distance to his right, and the building of the Senate is to the left. In addition, the roofs of the GUM located on Red Square are clearly visible in the frame.

What topics did Vladimir Putin raise before?

Since 2000, the President of Russia has addressed the New Year's message against the background of the Kremlin's Spasskaya Tower, which is familiar to everyone. In 2012, after taking office for the third time, Putin thanked the citizens for their trust - this was Putin's last abstract congratulations. Citizens saw the first changes in treatment in 2013. Generally deadline Putin became perhaps the most saturated with events that can be called "historical" - tragic or positive, in the spirit of the Russian tradition, they became points of national consolidation - mainly as a response to external challenges.

Political motives began to appear in the president's speech - before the start of 2014, Putin expressed the hope that Russia would "persistently defend its interests in international affairs." At the same time, Putin departed from tradition and recorded the New Year's address twice, making an appeal from Moscow, and then from Khabarovsk.

The second half of 2013 was overshadowed tragic events. At the end of summer, a powerful flood hit the Far East, which led to the largest flood in the last 115 years - at least 135 thousand people were affected, and at the end of the year, on December 29 and 30, terrorist attacks occurred in Volgograd, which Putin did not mention in his first address. The appeal itself was shown in Chukotka, Kamchatka and the Magadan region, and the press secretary referred to a technical flaw, due to which the second appeal, recorded in Khabarovsk, was not sent.

On New Year's Eve, Putin flew to Khabarovsk to celebrate 2014 with Russians affected by the floods. Before the appeal itself, Putin visited one of the temporary accommodation points for the victims.

Here he decided to record a congratulatory speech in which the tragic events were mentioned.

During his address, Putin supplemented his last speech and called what happened in Volgograd a serious test and promised to make efforts to combat international terrorism: “We will confidently, firmly and consistently continue the fight against terrorists until they are completely destroyed. We will support all the victims, we will do everything that was planned, we will restore and build everything that is planned to be restored and built.”

The upcoming Olympic Games were also mentioned. In the same year, speaking in Khabarovsk, Putin especially articulated the thesis of the inseparability of personal destinies, personal happiness with responsibility for the whole of Russia.

The main topics of the message of 2014 were the successfully completed Olympics and the entry of Crimea into Russia. Therefore, Putin began his congratulatory speech with questions of patriotism. The appeal was full of thanks to the citizens of the country for defending the interests of Russia. He noted the love for the Motherland and thanked the Russian people for the fraternal support of the inhabitants of Crimea and Sevastopol: “Love for the Motherland is one of the most powerful, uplifting feelings. It was fully manifested in the fraternal support of the inhabitants of Crimea and Sevastopol.” Putin commented on the annexation of Crimea as a strong desire of the Crimeans to return to their home. Putin also wished citizens to imitate the courage of athletes in the new year.

Summing up the results of the past year, Putin spoke about the bold plans for 2015, which must be fulfilled "for the sake of ourselves, for the sake of our children, for the sake of Russia."

The message of 2015 can be considered the most striking. The president paid special attention to servicemen fighting international terrorism: “And today I would especially like to congratulate those of our servicemen who are fighting international terrorism, defending Russia’s national interests on distant frontiers, while showing will, determination, and firmness of character.” The president did not disregard an important date for the country - the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Putin began his message with words about the tradition of celebrating the New Year with family, but did not fail to remind that, unfortunately, not everyone will be able to celebrate the holiday with loved ones: someone “needs to work in hospitals and in production,” “perform official and military duty”, “protect the borders” – Putin congratulated them separately as people who are “always on duty”. And thus got close to the leitmotif of the whole message. Military allusions, the military concept of duty and honor have become main theme congratulations and wishes.

Where did they record New Year's messages

The entry itself was not always the same. In 2013, instead of the usual Spasskaya Tower, a New Year tree and Russian flags were located in the background in Khabarovsk. The head of the country himself was located slightly to the right of the center of the television screen, and citizens stood to the left of the president. From time to time, the recording was broadcast from another frame showing Putin in the center of the Russians surrounding him, which could serve as a symbol of the rallying of citizens and the president, "the support of relatives and the reliability of friends" against the backdrop of disasters.

In 2014, Vladimir Putin changed the background of his New Year's message for the first time, as the Spasskaya Tower was under restoration. Behind the President's back was a night panorama of the Moscow Kremlin.

The president himself was broadcast on the screen in the very center and in a larger shot, and dressed, as in the past year, in a jacket, white shirt and red tie.

Against the backdrop of the panorama of the Moscow Kremlin, Putin also greeted 2016, only the color of the tie and the image of the president changed, which was presented in an even larger plan compared to the 2014 address.

The address of the head of state to the people on the eve of the New Year is a special genre of the president's ritual rhetoric, imbued with the unique, goosebumps-free atmosphere of the upcoming family holiday.

2015: how it was

Last year V.V. Putin sincerely thanked the people of the country for their readiness to defend its interests, civic cohesion and responsibility, solidarity, as well as the most important human truths that are difficult to underestimate at the current difficult stage of development for Russia: truth and honor, justice and dignity.

Considering the fact that 2015 was no less difficult for the country than the previous one, it can be said with confidence that Putin's New Year's address 2016 will, as always, be firm and decisive, inspiring the viewer, regardless of their gender and age, to honest work for the benefit of Motherland. After all, whenever and on what occasion the president speaks, he always focuses on the fact that the future prosperity of the whole nation consists of the happiness and success of every Russian.

2016: how it will be

Capacity and conciseness, firmness of thought and a clear construction of phrases are the main qualities inherent in the presidential speech on the eve of one of the most beloved folk holidays. The head of state never burdens the viewer with incomprehensible figures and depressing political theses, turning a business speech into a kind of conversation imbued with a simple and understandable, sincere atmosphere based on the main values: kindness, family, love.

Every word this time will also become an inspiring motivating link for solving new difficult tasks aimed at developing Russia in the far-fetched conditions of global isolation, inflationary surges and unstable exchange rates. And it does not matter at all what background picture will be behind Putin's back: the Moscow Kremlin with its bridges and embankments or the newly found azure coast of Crimea. The main thing is that the president's New Year's address in 2016 will once again show that there is no force that could break the internal invincible power of Orthodox Russia.

Residents of the Far East were the first to celebrate the New Year in Russia. They were the first to see the New Year's address of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In his congratulations, he thanked all Russians for "victories and achievements, for understanding and trust, for real, cordial concern for Russia." The head of state acknowledged that the outgoing year was not easy, but its difficulties "brought us together, prompted us to discover the huge reserves of our opportunities to move forward."

Vladimir Putin noted that the main thing is to believe in yourself and your country. He also thanked everyone for the successful work, especially mentioning those "who are now fulfilling their labor and military duty" on New Year's Eve.

On the night of December 31-January 1, the President of Russia urged everyone to become “a bit of a magician”, to be attentive to loved ones and others: take care of parents and children, respect colleagues, and support those in need.

"Peace and prosperity to our common, great Motherland - Russia, happiness to you and health, well-being," Vladimir Putin concluded.

Dear citizens of Russia! Dear friends!

2016 is leaving. It was not easy, but the difficulties we faced rallied us, prompted us to discover the huge reserves of our possibilities for moving forward.

The main thing is that we believe in ourselves, in our strength, in our country. We work, we work successfully, and we achieve a lot. I would like to sincerely thank you for your victories and achievements, for your understanding and trust, for your genuine, cordial concern for Russia.

We have a huge, unique and beautiful country! We are united by common concerns and common joys, we are united by a long, good tradition of celebrating the New Year with our families, with hope for the best.

But not everyone is at the festive table today. Many of our citizens, including those far from their homes, ensure the security of Russia, work at enterprises and are on duty in hospitals, drive trains and planes. To all who are now fulfilling their labor and military duty, my best wishes for the coming year.

Dear friends!

Now we are anxiously awaiting the chimes of the Moscow Kremlin and, more than ever, we clearly hear the passage of time, we feel how the future is approaching. This happens only in these moments, on this wonderful, beloved holiday.

To do this, you just need to treat your parents with love and gratitude, surround your children and your family with attention and care, respect your work colleagues, cherish friendship, defend truth and justice, be merciful, help those who are waiting for support. That's the whole secret.

Happy holiday! Happy New Year 2017!

The congratulation of the President of the inhabitants of the Russian Federation on the New Year has long become a tradition, and without it it is impossible to imagine a feast on the night of December 31 to January 1.

The speech against the backdrop of the Kremlin is recorded in advance and broadcast on federal channels before the chiming clock. Russia is a huge country with several time zones, so in the east of the country the calendar New Year comes a few hours earlier than in the west. Residents of Anadyr, Magadan and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky are the first to celebrate the New Year - at 16.00 Moscow time. Residents of these regions are the first to hear the president's parting words for 2019, and thanks to the Internet, Putin's New Year's greetings on the New Year can be watched online a few minutes after his speech. The text of congratulations, as a rule, is banal and has streamlined wording, but sometimes a thesis review of the events of the outgoing year is also inserted into the New Year's speech. If you want to watch Putin's New Year's speech before everyone else, visit this page after 16.00 Moscow time. The text of Putin's congratulations on the New Year 2019 will also be published here.

Text of Putin's congratulations on the New Year 2018/2019

Dear citizens of Russia! Dear friends!

Time brings us closer to the New Year, 2019. Behind us is a busy December full of worries, when we were in a hurry to complete urgent matters, clarified plans for the future and, of course, prepared for the holiday. And now we are waiting for the New Year with excitement and hope, we see the enthusiastic eyes of the kids, we feel how happy parents, grandparents are, if the whole family is together at these moments, and their hearts are warmed by sensitivity and attention, and we understand that here it is, New Year's Eve. magic, and our spiritual generosity creates it. It is in demand both on holidays and on weekdays, when we support those who need help, who are lonely or sick. After all, someone else's misfortune really does not happen, and mercy always responds with kindness, gives the joy of complicity.

Dear friends!

Everyone has their own expectations. But by and large, we all want our loved ones to be healthy, so that harmony reigns in the house, children make us happy, life is peaceful, and dreams, even the most intimate ones, must come true.

On New Year's Eve, as in childhood, we make wishes, wait for luck and good luck. And let them be. But still, we know for sure that it is possible to achieve the best for ourselves, for our family, for our native country only through our own efforts, common coordinated work.

We have to solve many pressing problems in the economy, science and technology, healthcare, education and culture and, most importantly, step by step to improve the well-being and quality of life, so that all citizens of Russia, each of us, will feel changes for the better in the coming year.

We can only do this together. We never had and never will have assistants. And so it is important for us to be a cohesive, united, strong team. And let the friendship and good hopes that unite everyone now accompany us in the future, help us in our work, in achieving common goals.

Dear friends!

Only a few seconds separate us from the New Year 2019. Let's wish happiness to those around us. We will say the warmest words to everyone who is dear, we will thank the parents, we will gently and tightly hug the children, we will open our hearts towards each other. After all, when millions of people experience such bright feelings, the world is filled with love and trust.

I sincerely wish you joy and prosperity, and our Motherland, our beloved Russia, success and prosperity.

I congratulate you on the occasion! Happy New Year 2019!
