Modern fashion is very diverse and consists of a huge number of styles. This allows each girl to find the clothes that will favorably emphasize the features of her appearance and reflect her individual preferences. In this article, we'll take a look at the most popular styles to make it easier for you to navigate fashion trends and find something worthwhile for yourself.

How to find your female image

Not everyone knows what style is, or rather, how it differs from fashion. Style is a certain combination of things that look harmonious with each other. Today, there are a huge number of different styles, so how to choose the most suitable outfit for yourself becomes a very important question for girls.

Giving advice on finding your own style is difficult enough, because it should reflect your preferences and emphasize individuality. If you don't know how to choose a style to look more attractive, ask yourself the question "which suits me?" After all, a girl's wardrobe should be not only fashionable, but also universal. If you can say “my style” about some fashion trend, then try to really dress in such things.

In this search for yourself, it is worth paying attention to such basics as your age, social status and body type. There are things that are sewn especially for overweight people or for women of age. Clothes should fit your lifestyle and be appropriate in all situations. So, for example, a winter knitted sweater will be completely inappropriate in a summer bow, and clothes of too large sizes - at any official event.

Although style is a very individual concept, some girls like to buy similar items for the whole family. Family clothes, made in the same style, really show unity and allow you to look harmoniously together. So, getting together with your soul mate for some kind of celebration, you can choose costumes for a couple that will complement each other.

What are the types of styles

But today we are not talking about family style, but about what styles of clothing are suitable for girls and are relevant this season. The list includes basic styles that will allow any woman to create a basic wardrobe that suits her.

New look

Let's start with one of the most feminine styles to start with. The New Look style was founded by Christian Dior in the middle of the last century. The post-war situation forced most girls to dress in the most simple things. And in order to bring femininity back into fashion, Dior introduced New Look into the trend. The main differences by which this style can be recognized are fitted dresses and fluffy skirts.

Shabby chic

Another feminine and graceful style is “shabby chic”. He appeared at the suggestion of Rachel Asheville, an American celebrity. This style is in many ways reminiscent of vintage due to the fact that it is based on things, either bought in antique shops, or artificially aged. Dresses, skirts and suits in this style look as feminine as possible, but at the same time, slightly casual.

Art Deco

Art Deco also came to us from the middle of the last century. This is a combination of dresses with a simple loose fit with various bright accessories. In this style, flirty feathered hats, long glass beads and handbags decorated with sequins or beads are very common.

Feminine

Feminine style is also worth highlighting. As the name suggests, it aims to maximize feminine beauty. Its characteristics are things with a fitted silhouette and an emphasis on a thin waist and bust. Many things in this style are complemented by "girlish" patterns - polka dots, print with hearts or floral patterns. Also, feminine outfits are often complemented with all kinds of bows, ruffles and appliqués in the form of hearts.

Patchwork

The patchwork style looks original in clothes. The same word also refers to the technique itself, in which such outfits are created. When sewing such dresses, skirts or shirts, separate colored pieces of fabric are used. Thus, the outfit looks very bright and unusual.

Eclecticism

The concept of eclecticism includes a mixture of several styles at once. But at the same time, the resulting eclectic image should be harmonious, not ridiculous. The easiest way to create such a bow is to use a mixture of different textures or complement an image in the same style with a contrasting accessory.

Fusion

The Fusion style has similarities with the previous one. It is also quite unusual, as it combines different fashion trends. So, simple ripped jeans can be combined with a luxurious evening blouse, and it will look quite appropriate within this style.

The Fusion style emerged in the nineties, when everyone wanted to stand out from the crowd with their unusual and often provocative look.

Rustic

Rustic style has come into fashion relatively recently. Initially, rustic outfits were worn by farmers who had no other items. Many stylists attribute this rustic style to one of the offshoots of retro.

The rustic folk style is recognizable for its simple cuts and colorful patterns. When sewing such clothes, deliberately rough fabrics are used. Also, often a rustic outfit complements a knitted sweater or cardigan. An alternative to a cardigan can be a colorful shawl or even a scarf draped over the shoulders.

Fantasy

Fantasy outfits look very unusual. Such things are rarely used for everyday wear. Usually they are chosen by cosplayers or young fans of different fantasy worlds.

The girls who create these bows are usually inspired by space and fantasy stories. Using seemingly simple things, you can briefly transform into an elf, demon or other character from your favorite story. Cosmic makeup with an emphasis on the eyes and a complex hairstyle complement such images.

Examples of fantasy clothing are luxurious Victorian dresses, complemented by a corset and plunging neckline, to high boots, and long capes. Very often, such fantasy images also contain Gothic elements.

Anime

The style, which is popular among fans of Japanese culture, deserves special attention. Anime style outfits are either cosplay of some famous characters, or deliberately cute clothes that resemble the outfits of Japanese schoolgirls.

Bohemian

Bohemian style will help creative girls express their individuality. It is bright, extravagant and full of unexpected details. It is the details that make the creative style - it can be an unusual antique jewelry or a bright scarf that complements a solid color bow.

Gypsy

Bright things can also be found in the gypsy style. Most associate it with carnivals and recklessness. This style allows you to combine in one bow things that, at first glance, do not go well with each other.

For this look, use layered skirts, floral dresses, and colorful accessories. Gypsy style has a lot in common with boho. These similarities relate to the color scheme and the combination of contrasting details in one bow.

Glamor

Many girls love the deliberately girly glamor style. Initially, the glamor style was popular with celebrities who could afford to complement luxurious evening dresses with fur capes and natural jewelry.

Now the glamorous style is popular among girls who love the club lifestyle. This includes shiny dresses, short skirts and outfits decorated with rhinestones and other shiny details. Another offshoot of this style is the so-called glam-rock. Such bows are distinguished from rocker outfits by the presence of pink and shiny details, as well as fluffy tulle or orgasna skirts.

For pregnant

For girls preparing for motherhood, designers create the most comfortable outfits using natural fabrics. The so-called mother's style is characterized by a free cut and calm colors.

Natural

Recently, in the wake of the popularity of a healthy lifestyle, the Soft Natural style is popular. This style is based on maximum naturalness. Some bright fabrics and an abundance of decor are unacceptable here. Eco-style clothes are as simple as possible - loose-fitting dresses and shirts made in pastel colors are complemented with accessories in the form of flowers.

Dandy

Garson

Another style that girls adopted from men is garcon. The most prominent representative of this style is a baggy dress, complemented by a belt at the hips or waist. Loose shirts, reminiscent of men's and plain wide pants, can also be attributed to this style.

Parisian chic

The deliberately feminine French style is completely different from the previous one. French women know how to dress tastefully in any situation. They prefer the simplest cut and combination of pastel colors. From shoes in the style of Parisian chic, elegant pumps with low heels can be noted.

Dramatic

If the look in the style of the French lady seems too boring for you, you can always try something more extravagant. Such outfits look as demonstrative and even provocative as possible. In the drama, bright colors, an abundance of decorative elements and deep neckline are acceptable. Such an outrageous style helps to stand out from the crowd.

Western film

Western style differs from rustic in increased practicality. Country-style bows had to be as comfortable and suitable as possible in order to complete the tasks all day without any discomfort.

Natural fabrics are used for sewing clothes in western style: leather, denim, burlap and fine wool. The outfits are made in calm colors. Shades of colors such as gray, brown, blue and red are popular. Among the current prints, it is worth noting floral and geometric patterns. The most flamboyant western look is a combination of a plaid shirt with denim shorts and high cowboy boots.

Underground

Young girls often choose an informal style for themselves. It allows you to go beyond the generally accepted fashion trends and boldly declare yourself. Underground bows are asymmetrical, bright colors and a combination of contrasting details.

Jazz

Today, the fashion of the twenties of the last century is also very popular. The jazz bows are simple, but at the same time, complemented by an abundance of decorative elements.

The characteristic elements of this style are low-waist dresses with a deep cut on the back, fur capes and comfortable shoes with low heels. For sewing such outfits, expensive fabrics are used - silk, satin, velvet. Decorate them with ruffles, fringes, beads.

Business

Business-style outfits are very popular among working girls. It is based on classic clothes and business suits. Of the characteristic details that distinguish the formal business style, one can note the severity of the lines and the use of monochrome or pastel colors.

The formal style is rather conservative - outfits with short skirts or deep neckline are unacceptable in it. Also, bright jewelry or provocative makeup will be inappropriate here. This austere style allows you to feel as confident as possible in work situations.

Futuristic

At the beginning of the last century, such a phenomenon as futurism appeared in the world. The futuristic style gradually penetrated into fashion. It is characterized by rather unusual styles, asymmetry and combinations of bright colors.

Babydoll

Almost every girl in her childhood had a barbie doll dressed up in cute dresses. For many, it is this image that is associated with real femininity. This explains the popularity of the baby-doll style.

In order to look like a favorite doll, girls choose pink fitted dresses, complemented by bows, ruffles and lace. Such outfits look cute and suit mostly young girls, since they will be inappropriate at a more mature age.

Renaissance

Since fashion is cyclical, designers often return to some trends of the past. Renaissance outfits are now also a source of inspiration for many modern collections.

Antique Renaissance clothes allow you to emphasize the femininity of the figure. In such dresses, the emphasis is on a lush bust and feminine hips. To place the correct accents, a corset is used, which, by tightening the waist, makes the chest lifted and more luxuriant.

Trash

Lovers of extravagant outfits can also be impressed by trash-style clothes. Such outfits are a kind of challenge to society. Bright acid colors combine with each other in the most strange way, for example, a pink dress with a full skirt can complement neon green sneakers and blue stockings. This style is popular with teenagers who are still looking for themselves and express these searches with an extraordinary look.

European

European fashion is very different not only from the east, but also from the domestic one. The European style is, first of all, a combination of extremely simple and practical things. Outerwear, dresses and casual jeans should all be comfortable and style-appropriate.

Unlike Russian women, European girls prefer comfortable shoes without heels and a minimum of makeup. The girls save the evening make-up and the corresponding outfits for special occasions when it is really appropriate.

Grunge

The grunge style is very similar to the previously mentioned trash. It appeared at the end of the last century, as a protest against the glamorous images that are present everywhere on screens and in the pages of magazines. Things in this style are deliberately carelessly selected, and sometimes even torn or just worn.

Swag

Lovers of swag style also combine incompatible things in one look. His ideology is based on a combination of demonstratively expensive things. Clothes in this style should be branded, and accessories should be massive and eye-catching. One of the most popular details that almost everyone is familiar with is the massive gold chain with a pendant.

Burlesque

Catchy and complex bows are also characteristic of the burlesque style. Previously, such outfits were typical for wandering artists and were used for theatrical performances. Burlesque scenes drew the audience's attention to girls in bright and rather revealing outfits. To create a burlesque outfit, you need to be able to combine bright clothes and catchy makeup, while looking not too approachable.

Scandinavian

For those who value simplicity and elegance, the Scandinavian style will suit. The creations of Nordic designers are distinguished by their laconicism and restraint. The Norwegian style excludes an abundance of patterns and small details. It is based on classic monochromatic things, mainly in pastel colors.

Nautical

For summer holidays, many girls choose a marine style. It shows the mood corresponding to the warm summer weather. The most typical colors for this style are blue, white, turquoise and blue. Also, things in this style are often decorated with prints with anchors or starfish.

Noir

If your wardrobe is dominated by black, pay attention to the noir style. It is typical for films of the middle of the last century. The classic noir look is a combination of a closed black dress with makeup, as if from 40-50 years.

Dresses in this style are distinguished by an extremely simple clear cut. A black outfit without unnecessary decorative elements is the basis of an ideal female image. The only acceptable accessory is a fine string of pearls.

Color blocking

Not only images made in basic monochrome colors can look elegant and attractive. Since the end of the last century, the so-called color-blocking has come into fashion. This is a style in which things in contrasting colors are combined in a geometric order. Moreover, each detail should be monochromatic and devoid of any prints and applications.

The classification is traditional, in which authoritarian, democratic, liberal and anarchic leadership styles.

To carry out such a classification, it is necessary to highlight those aspects that are important for its implementation:

· development of management decisions.

· direct decision making

· responsibility for the result

· control over the activities of the head by subordinates

Concentration of power in the hands of the leader

No self-government, total control

Removal of subordinates from decision making

Minimal participation of the head in team management

· Responsibility of the head for the activities of subordinates.

Anarchist stylediffers from the liberal in that the leader seeks to avoid responsibility for the activities of subordinates and does not allow them to control their own activities.

Classification of styles in the GRID system.

Leadership style -a set of methods, techniques and actions that are most typical for a leader in his relations with subordinates, the most familiar way for him to communicate with them.

GRID systemis a two-dimensional classification in which management styles are rated on a 9-point scale for 2 indicators: concern for production and concern for personnel.

Within this classification, the following main styles of leadership are distinguished:

· 1.1 - management poverty. The leader has minimal interest in production and subordinates, takes the position of an outside observer, does not show initiative and does not expect this from subordinates, shows activity only when a threat arises.

· 9, 1 - the power of the leader.high requirements for production activities and low level of care for staff. The leader is strict, demanding, makes individual decisions, is sensitive to criticism.

· 1, 9 - organization as a country club.Minimal interest in production, maximum care for staff. Attention is paid to maintaining friendly relationships. The leader is attentive, pleasant in communication, easily finds support among subordinates, but not always from the leadership

· 5, 5 - the golden mean.uniform care of production and people. The leader is guided either by generally accepted opinions or by the opinion of the management, showing only approved initiative. Easily combines praise and criticism.

· 9, 9 - teamwork.Maximum care for production and people. The manager seeks to motivate employees to achieve goals, encourages their participation in the affairs of the organization. Self-confident and striving for innovation.

Additionally the following styles of leadership are distinguished in the GRID system:

· Paternalism - creating a sense of a single family. The leader is the father of the family, who must be honored and impossible to disobey.

Opportunism - the primary task of a leader - to strengthen his own position and influence, using all the methods available to him

· Facadism - the desire of the leader to have power and use others is masked by a demonstrative desire to be one of his subordinates.

Fiedler's situational model

The central idea behind the situational leadership approach was the assumption that leadership behavior should be different in different situations. One of the founders of the theory of situational leadership is F. Fiedler, who focused on the situation and identified three factors influencing the behavior of a leader, using an 8-point scale to build a profile of the least preferred employee (colleague) (CPD).

Leaders with high scores, that is, who described their CPD very positively, are relationship-oriented (a leader with a high CPD), while managers who score lower have a work-oriented style (a leader with a low CPD).

Situational variables:

· Relationships in the team;

· Structured work;

· Powers of authority.

Team relations (leader-follower relationship): good-bad. This variable reflects the level of loyalty, trust, support and respect, that is, the recognition of the leader by the followers.

Structured work: high-low. This variable reflects the level of structuredness of the tasks solved by the group (measured by the following indicators: clarity of purpose; multiple means to achieve goals; validity of decisions; specificity of decisions.) Highly structured work gives the leader the opportunity to have greater control over the performers.

Powerful powers (official power): strong-weak. Reflects the level of formal authority of the leader.

Efficiency is achieved if

in the least favorable situation, leaders demonstrate a work-oriented style (style with low CPR); in a moderately favorable situation, a relationship-oriented style (style with high CPR). in the most favorable situation, a work-oriented style (style with low CPD).

The practical significance of the model consists in the fact that it allows, depending on the current situation, to select a leader. In this case, the main selection criterion is the conformity of the leader's style to a specific situation.

Life cycle theory

Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard developed a situational leadership theory called life cycle theory, according to which the most effective leadership styles depend on the "maturity" of the performers. Maturity implies the ability to take responsibility for one's behavior, the desire to achieve a set goal, and education and experience in relation to the specific task that needs to be completed. According to Hersey and Blaspar, the concept of maturity is not a permanent quality of an individual or group, but rather a characteristic of a particular situation. In other words, individuals and groups exhibit different levels of "maturity" depending on the task at hand. Accordingly, the leader can also change his behavior depending on the relative maturity of the person or group.

As shown in the figure, there are four leadership styles that correspond to a particular maturity level of the performers: instruct, sell, participate, delegate.

The first style, S1 (directing), requires the leader to combine a high degree of task orientation and a low degree of human relations. This style is suitable for subordinates with a low maturity level (Ml). Here, this style is quite appropriate because subordinates are either unwilling or unable to be responsible for a specific task, and they require appropriate instructions, guidance and strict control.

Figure: Situational leadership model of Hersey and Blanchard,

The second style, S2 (“sell”), implies that the leadership style is equally and highly focused on both the task and the relationship. In this situation, subordinates want to accept responsibility, but cannot, since they have an average level of maturity (M2). Thus, the leader chooses task-oriented behavior to give specific instructions to subordinates, but at the same time, the leader maintains their desire and enthusiasm to carry out the task under their responsibility.

The third style, S3, is characterized by a moderately high maturity (MH). In this situation, subordinates can, but do not want to be responsible for the task. For a leader who combines a low degree of task orientation and a high degree of human relations, the most appropriate style will be the participation of subordinates in decision-making. Leaders can increase the motivation and involvement of their people by empowering them to participate in decision-making, as well as helping them and not imposing any direction. In essence, the leader and subordinates make decisions together, and this fosters their greater participation and involvement.

The fourth style, S4, is characterized by a high degree of maturity (M4). In this situation, subordinates can and want to be responsible. The delegation style is most suitable here, and the leader's behavior can combine a low degree of focus on the task and on human relations. This style is appropriate in situations with mature performers. As a result, the leader allows subordinates to act on their own: they do not need support or guidance, since they are able to do all this on their own in relation to each other.

Like other situational models, Hersey and Blanchard's life cycle model recommends a flexible, adaptive leadership style. But like other leadership models, it has not been universally accepted. Critics emphasized the lack of a consistent method for measuring maturity; oversimplified divisions of styles; and uncertainty as to whether executives will in practice be able to behave with the flexibility required by the model.

According to the criterion of employee participation in management, the following styles are distinguished.

Dictatorial style: employees are forced to follow strict one-man orders under the threat of sanctions;

Autocratic style: the manager has an extensive apparatus at his disposal;

Friendly (supportive) style: The credibility of a manager is based on his personal positive qualities that employees have confidence in.

Democratic (cooperative, solidarity, collegial or participatory) style as a typical form includes various options:

Communication style: employees can express their opinions but must ultimately follow directions;

Consultative style: the manager makes a decision only on the basis of detailed information and after its joint discussion, employees implement the decisions in the development of which they participated, consulted with them;

Management style with a joint decision: the manager poses a problem and restrictions, employees themselves decide on further actions, the manager reserves the right to veto;

Autonomous style: employees decide for themselves, they are not limited by the framework, control and responsibility remain with the manager.

Management can take various forms. Violence, coercion, ordering correspond to the authoritarian style. It is associated with the hierarchical division of the control system and the pyramidal forms of its construction. This objective prerequisite for the authoritarian style of style does not exclude changes in its strength depending on the position of the leader's personality and his role as the leader of the organization. In this case, different kinds of styles arise.

Management through influence and reliance on employees determines the democratic style. When employees are left to their own devices, management is defined by a liberal style. Forms of government did not evolve specifically for industrial or other industry applications. They have arisen as a result of social situations that have developed at different times.

When classifying styles by the criterion of management functions, only the predominance of one of the management functions is taken into account, situational and other factors remain unaccounted for. With this classification, the concept of style is closely related to the concept of management.

Management through innovation. This leadership style emphasizes the focus on innovation as the main vector of management decisions (innovation management).

Management through motivation. Managers proceed from the fact that not only material incentives have a positive effect on the employee's performance, but also the need for self-expression.

Management through coordination. This style is based on the reduction of conflicts through the coordination of personal areas of activity. The manager trusts employees to make decisions related to the tasks they perform. The manager's intervention occurs only in exceptional situations, for example, in the event of an employee deviating from the fixed acceptable limits.

Management through task transfer. With this style, in the foreground is the delegation of authority and business responsibility associated with tasks, the motivation of employees increases, and the workload of the manager decreases.

Management through a systems approach. This style emphasizes the cybernetic cycle of management, rational discipline and systematization of the management process.

In the practice of management, a one-factor method of analyzing styles is used according to the priority severity of one management function.

Casual

Casual is perhaps one of the most popular stylistic trends among most fashionistas from around the world. It is not for nothing that in translation it sounds like "everyday".

What he really is? Firstly, it is always comfort and convenience, pleasant fabrics, not constraining styles, a certain softness and flexibility. Glamor

Unfortunately, in modern realities, when pronouncing the word "glamor", many in the head have the image of a provincial girl with bright makeup, in a shiny dress, neckline and shoes with crazy heels. This notion of glamor style is false.

Ethno vaguely resembles boho, but still quite different. Natural fabrics, spacious cuts and prints are inherent in it, which are a symbol of a particular culture. For example, it can be: embroidered shirt, kimono, jacket or bag with an Aztec print, etc.

Jewelry in this style will become especially memorable; they are always bright, rather large, original and eye-catching.

Grunge

Translated from English "grunge (grunge)" sounds like "untidy". For the most part, this is the style of adolescents and their youthful maximalism, the complete opposite of luxury and glamor, the style of riffraff and hooligans.

The main characteristics of this stylistic trend are: ripped jeans, plaid shirts with rolled up sleeves, T-shirts, often wrinkled, sneakers or rough boots, a slight mess on the head. This style will be appreciated by lovers of convenience and owners of a rebellious spirit, those who want to take a break from everyday tinsel and just enjoy life without worrying about protruding threads or hairstyles spoiled by the wind.

These are delicate dresses, floral prints, lace, ruffles and flounces, pastel shades, small handbags and straw hats. The main characteristics of preppy are: calm deep colors, checkered and striped prints, tweed and cashmere fabrics, A-line skirts, moderate pleats, shirts with a laconic cut, jackets, vests, brogues, loafers, a satchel bag or a postman.

Minimalism is the style of self-confident people and lovers of simplicity. Calm colors, such as black, white, gray, beige, are inherent in it, the absence of decorative elements, be it ruffles or embroidery. To create a really stylish and good image in this direction, you need to pay great attention to the quality of clothes, it must be at its best.

It is also worth considering that since minimalism does not tolerate brightness and an explosion of colors, then all attention will be focused directly on you, and not on clothes, so you must always have a neat hairstyle and makeup.

Minimalism does not tolerate explosions of colors and prints; it loves calm tones, laconic models, uncomplicated cut and almost no accessories and jewelry.
