Not every shoe is suitable for driving a car. Moreover, its wrong choice is fraught with extremely unpleasant consequences for the driver.

Heel

The heel of the driver's shoes must not be too high. The maximum that can be allowed is 3-4 centimeters, no more. And it should also be wide enough to provide a stable position for the foot.

The fairer sex, showing off in shoes or high-heeled model boots, is strongly recommended to get driving shoes that you could change into while driving.

Changing shoes is not always convenient and takes up precious time? But it will save your no less precious health and indeed a truly priceless life.

Sole

There is nothing worse than shoes with slippery soles that keep slipping off the pedal. In this case, instead of convenient and comfortable driving, you will find endless groping and searching for car control pedals. But it takes precious time and rather distracts from the driving procedure.

It is unlikely that in shoes with a thick sole or platform you will be able to fully feel the pedals, and in a critical situation it may happen that the accelerator pedal is pressed instead of the brake pedal.

Every extra millimeter of sole thickness reduces the driver's tactile contact with the car's control pedals. We do not encourage you to drive in slippers. In no case - the driver's foot must be securely fixed with tight, soft and comfortable shoes.

Other important "little things"

Model shoes with multiple buckles and other decorative elements can catch on the pedal at the most inopportune moment. The same applies to fashion shoes or boots with long toes.

Open heel shoes also pose a safety hazard. There is no guarantee that at a decisive moment, for example, during, the foot will not slip out of such “slippers” and will not jump off the pedal.

Summing up

Driving shoes must be:

- comfortable;

- with a low and wide heel;

- with non-slip and not too thick soles;

- with a closed heel;

- without protruding decorative elements.

According to many automotive experts, soft moccasins are the best shoe option for a car driver. In such shoes you will feel comfortable and confident while driving a car.

Good luck to you! Not a nail, not a wand!

There are always plenty of men who want to give advice to a woman behind the wheel about the choice of shoes or clothes. The instructor will probably advise you to drive in sneakers, and your husband will advise you not to approach the car in an impractical white coat. However, fortunately, you can ignore all this stupid advice. However, some others are still worth listening to!

Shoes for women driving

The most enduring myth on this topic is this: driving in high-heeled shoes is very uncomfortable. Focusing on him, some girls go to driving lessons in sneakers, and then all their lives they suffer with a “shift”, changing their stylish stilettos into worn moccasins in the car. What for?

In fact, you can drive a car in almost any shoe! Perhaps there are only two exceptions. The first is shoes or boots with very thin, high and unstable stilettos. You will either break them quickly, or you will have to keep your feet a little overhang all the time, not resting your heels on the floor. So you get tired very quickly.

The second taboo is shoes on a thick rigid platform. A few years ago it was very popular, and in some countries even passed laws prohibiting driving in it. The fact is that due to the stiff and thick sole, the foot feels very bad on the pedals, and this greatly increases the likelihood of accidents.

All other driving shoes are perfectly acceptable. In general, experts say that it's not about the shoes, but about the car. For example, domestic cars, on which, by the way, most of us get our first driving lessons, have a heavy clutch, a “thoughtful” brake and slow gas. As a result, the gas pedal, which is also for some reason very high in our cars, has to be constantly pressed. Therefore, too high a heel or slippers with its complete absence create a lot of problems. In foreign cars, everything is done much more conveniently, the pedals are more “humane”, the legs do not slip off them, so you will not have any special problems with choosing shoes.

So it all depends on your style and personal preferences. However, several useful tips you won't be disturbed. So...

Tips for choosing shoes for a woman behind the wheel

It is believed that the ideal option for a woman driving is not sneakers at all, but pumps with a fairly soft sole and a 3-5 cm heel.

When choosing shoes, pay special attention to heels. Moreover, it is not so much their height that is important, but their stability. So, for example, a fairly wide and stable heel 15 cm high is much more preferable than a thin 5-centimeter "glass".

If you are just starting to drive, before putting on high-heeled shoes, try driving in more comfortable shoes to "feel" the pedals.

When choosing shoes for the winter, remember that boots or boots with high lacing sometimes squeeze the leg and blood supply is disturbed, and also hinder movement. Moreover, it is most inconvenient when the shoes are so narrow that the leg in the ankle area bends very badly.

Your foot will feel the pedals just as badly and uncertainly in shoes with a hard, rigid sole.

Buying a car is a great opportunity to save on winter boots. Too warm shoes while driving are not only unnecessary, but also dangerous. The fact is that if under normal conditions the foot of the foot releases up to 60 g of moisture per day, then the heat of the stove and too warm shoes will increase this figure by 2-3 times.

For the same reason, in winter, when the stove is running, you should not ride in shoes made of synthetic materials, in which the foot does not "breathe".

But when buying shoes for the summer, you should not refuse comfortable open slippers at all. Just when choosing them, make sure that the foot does not jump out of them, and the sole is not too slippery.

If you decide to take the choice of shoes really seriously, you can look for special "car shoes" that some brands have, for example, Cesare Paciotti, Aldo Brue, Ganfranco Ferre, Alberto Guardiani and some others. Not to say, however, that it is particularly elegant, because the style is closest to moccasins or leather slippers with rubber soles (the Americans call them drive shoes).

A few years ago, factories began to produce special leather shoes for female drivers. According to reports, its production soon ceased due to low demand. So what do modern autoladies drive a car in? How to choose shoes for driving a car and is it important? The answers to these and other questions are in our article.

Ideal shoes for driving a car - what is it?

The ideal shoes for a woman behind the wheel are not sneakers at all, but pumps with a fairly soft sole and a 3-5 cm heel. Such shoes provide the driver's foot with maximum comfort and do not hinder movement.

If you are a fan of shoes with heels, then let me note that, first of all, it is not even the height of the heel that is important, but its stability, pay attention to this when choosing shoes.

If you are a novice driver, then take your time to put on high-heeled shoes, drive the car in more comfortable shoes to “feel” the pedals.

A loose heel, as well as a heel with a high heel, is completely unacceptable for driving a car. It is interesting that it never occurs to anyone to take sandals with them for skiing or mountain skis for swimming. But no one thinks about how to drive a car. And many drivers can be seen on their feet both ski boots and ballroom shoes.

Winter shoes for driving a car

In winter, for driving a car, choose boots and boots that will not constrain your leg; here you don’t have to think about style - first of all, convenience.

Remember that lacing interferes with blood circulation, make sure that the leg bends freely at the ankle.

Avoid shoes with hard, stiff soles. It is better to increase the heating temperature of the car, but wear light, comfortable shoes than suffer in high boots.

In winter, when the stove is running, you should not ride in shoes made of synthetic materials, in which the foot does not “breathe” and sweats heavily. In summer, you should not refuse comfortable open slippers, the main thing is that the foot does not jump out of them, and the sole is not too slippery.

Shoes for driving a car - we change shoes on the spot!

Most women behind the wheel have already realized that it is necessary to carry suitable shoes with them and change into them while driving a car. After all, we are used to changing shoes when we come home, to visit and to the workplace. Why not make it a rule to do the same when driving.

If you decide to change your shoes when driving a car, this does not mean that you need to take old shoes with you that you cannot put on anywhere else.

Driving shoes should be closed, close-fitting and with a relatively flexible outsole, but not too loose in length or width, as in this case they can become more of a burden than a reliable assistant.

Skirt or pants in the car?

This is another fundamental issue when it comes to women's auto equipment. Of course, no one argues that it is more comfortable to drive in trousers, especially in jeans. However, this is not at all a reason to give up feminine style while driving and forget about skirts. The only problem is long and tight skirts. It is not only inconvenient to drive a car in them, but very few people get into it elegantly. However, if you managed to sit down, then in the car you can lift the skirt a little and then there will be no inconvenience. And the man sitting next to you will be just happy!

In fact, in skirts, it’s not so much uncomfortable to drive a car as to get in and out of it. For example, if you have chosen a fluffy and long enough skirt, then before you get into the car, you need to pick it up slightly at the level of the hips, then sit on the seat, and only then move your legs into the passenger compartment (both at the same time - this is general rule for woman). By the way, all the folds on the skirt need to be smoothed out before you sit down. To do this later, rising and smoothing them under you, is considered bad form.

Outerwear for car ladies

Now let's talk about the choice of outerwear. Any woman, even the most orthodox fur lover, knows that driving a car in fur coats or sheepskin coats is not very comfortable. And if they are also long - it is almost impossible. The same applies to massive coats and jackets. In all this, you feel extremely clumsy behind the wheel, and even with the stove turned off, it is very hot in such equipment.

Someone solves this problem by saving on buying a fur coat and preferring a short jacket or a relatively light coat. By the way, the classic English quilted quilt jacket is very convenient and practical for driving a car. Unlike sports jackets, it goes well not only with trousers, but also with any, even the most glamorous skirts and dresses. At the same time, it does not wrinkle, keeps heat well and does not restrict movement. Quilt was created for riding, and therefore it is ideal for riding any horses, even iron ones.

The second option is not to deny yourself the pleasure of putting on a fur coat, or a sheepskin coat or an expensive long coat, but before getting into the car (or already in it), just take off your precious "skin" and carefully fold it in the back seat. If it is not too cold outside, the stove in the car works well, and you are not wearing a dress with bare shoulders, but something warmer, you will not freeze in the car. And about headgear... It is better not to wear caps, hats with large brim and especially hoods in the car, as they severely restrict the view. In addition, when the stove is running, they are also hot.

However, lovers of dressing in winter are too easy and rely only on the stove, it is worth considering a fallback option in case of an unforeseen breakdown of the car. The easiest option is to always keep some old warm jacket, hat and blanket in the trunk. Then you can always, without freezing, wait for the emergency gang, even if you find yourself in a 20-degree frost somewhere outside the city.

Driver's glasses

Sunglasses are something without which driving can be very dangerous. And they are needed at any time of the year. In summer - to save your eyes from the bright sun shining right in your face, and in winter - to protect yourself from dazzling white snow. It's a good idea to keep driving sunglasses in the glove compartment of your car at all times. You never know what situation you will find yourself in, and how the weather will change during the day!

The topic of a separate conversation is the quality and coating of lenses. Remember that sunglasses are something that you should not save on. And the point here is not at all a desire to show off! Just cheap glasses not only distort the correct color reproduction, but also cause fatigue and even eye diseases. Nai the best option- if the lenses are made of optical glass and are photochromic, that is, they change their transmittance depending on the illumination. They are commonly called "chameleons", and the color of their glasses depends on the brightness of the sun and whether it shines at all. In addition, the glasses must be polarized, that is, quenching the sun's glare on the surface of the water, wet roads and snow.

If you are not buying "chameleons", then pay attention to how dark the lenses of the glasses are. If they are too dark, then you will not be able to use them at dusk to protect against the blinding headlights of cars traveling towards you. The light ones will not protect the eyes from the sun. But the issue of glass color is not so fundamental, although experts advise against choosing red and pink glasses for driving. And best of all, goggles with green lenses will protect you from the bright sun and blinding snow. And speaking of gloves...

Professional racing drivers are convinced that gloves prevent hands from slipping on the steering wheel, as well as reduce grip strength and reduce joint fatigue. And in extreme situations, when the impact of the car's wheels on some obstacle is transmitted to the steering wheel and can knock it out, gloves are a must.

However, even if you drive a good city car, and drive around the track in a sports car, gloves still do not interfere. The classics are traditional car gloves with cut off or slightly cut off "fingers", or with slots in the folds of the fingers, as well as with a lock on the wrist in the form of a button or Velcro. This is what gloves look like, which you can buy in car dealerships of leading car brands.

However, a woman can replace this accessory for racing drivers with ordinary leather or suede gloves. It is only desirable that they are not too tight and do not interfere with the fingers to feel the steering wheel.

By the way, all of the above is not a reason to forget about such a useful thing in the car as a set of rubber or cotton gloves "just in case". Well, you won’t put on your thin sand-colored suede gloves to get under the hood to fill the windshield washer or to open the gas tank cap at a gas station!

Safety, practicality or beauty?

In general, when choosing clothes, shoes and accessories for driving a car, any woman is faced with the fact that it can be difficult for her to meet three conditions: beauty, safety and practicality. What should be the main thing? Well, safety is definitely not worth sacrificing! Therefore, everything that hinders your movements while driving, interferes with the review and distracts, is better to exclude from the wardrobe. But sacrificing beauty for the sake of practicality is not worth it. In the end, driving a car is a pleasure, not a job at the machine. And you need to look behind the wheel in such a way as to feel confident and irresistible.

Do you love white? Feel free to wear a white coat or trousers! Just try to be a little more careful, wash the outside of the car more often and clean the inside - and nothing will happen to your white things.

So what if, due to frequent pressing on the pedal, the shoes deteriorate and peel off (the heel and heels suffer especially badly)! This is not a reason to forget about your favorite shoes or boots! By the way, many especially practical women, driving in winter, refuse suede shoes in favor of more practical leather ones. Indeed, in the cold season, dirt usually accumulates on the rug under your feet, and it is much more difficult to clean suede shoes later. However, if you wash your rugs regularly, your love for suede shoes will be mutual.

Car to style or style to car?

It would never occur to any man to buy a car to match the color of his favorite coat! And the woman will come! Sometimes, on the contrary, when some details of the wardrobe are matched to the color and style of the car. And there is nothing wrong with that! A really stylish girl should be "in the image" and in her own car.

For those who are not confident in their own abilities, stylists give the following advice:

With a very noticeable car (for example, with a convertible or just with an expensive car of a bright color), an equally expensive and glamorous style is ideally combined: furs, jewelry, designer items, rich shades, lace, velvet. If jeans - then only very expensive. And no modest "garbage" style with things of faded colors and democratic knitwear.

A sports car is combined with a wardrobe in the same style: an expensive velor tracksuit, sweatshirts with flashy inscriptions, huge dark glasses.

A classic car, whose design evokes memories of retro style, requires conservatism and a hint of the fashion of our mothers in clothes. You can look like an aristocratic lady or a sophisticated intellectual, but in any case, a few vintage things should appear in your arsenal.

Fans of serious and pretentious "male" cars should adhere to the image of a self-confident business woman: expensive strict suits, discreet colors, classic style and expensive accessories.

And if you prefer tiny, purely ladies' cars, you need to look as airy and fun as possible: cheerful colors, miniature dresses, small handbags and an abundance of jewelry.

If you are a fan of French cars, you will have to match their charm and try to turn into a true Parisian: everything is extremely feminine, flowing silhouettes, bows and elegant shoes.

But the owners of not too pretentious and very practical city cars can afford absolute comfort and convenience in clothes: moccasins, jeans and cozy knitwear - that's what you need.

By the way, if you have already decided on the style for a long time, and you are only going to buy a car, maybe try to choose a car based not on engine size and interior design, but on your clothing preferences? It will definitely be very feminine!

When choosing shoes, most people (especially women) focus not on the practicality of the product, but on its appearance and beauty. This approach can be justified if the item of clothing is chosen for a festive occasion or for a certain outfit. You need to think differently when buying shoes for driving. Here, the quality of the material, convenience, shape and other points come to the fore. But more about everything.

General characteristics

If you often have to drive, then buying quality shoes should be a priority. In this case, the product must meet a number of criteria:

  • Be relatively soft, durable and non-slip. Thanks to this sole, you can control with more confidence. vehicle and not worry that the foot will accidentally jump off the pedal;

  • For women, the height of the heel should not be more than three centimeters. Otherwise, when you sharply press the brake, the heel will act as a limiter and will not allow you to press the pedal normally. If, nevertheless, high heels are a vital necessity, then it is enough to have a spare pair of other shoes in the car. When leaving the car, it is enough just to change into a more comfortable pair;

  • Have a short and neat toe. It is important that when one pedal is pressed, the foot does not touch the other, as well as foreign objects, for example, the same rug;

  • Have a thin sole. While driving, a motorist should feel the car and the accelerator pedal itself, and too thick soles on shoes interfere with this;

  • Be comfortable. For a car enthusiast, it is important that nothing distracts him from driving. If the shoes rub or crush, then an additional annoying and distracting factor appears, due to which the risks of getting into an accident increase;

  • Support your heel. During movement, the heel should always be in its place and securely fixed in the shoe. Otherwise, most important point time, the foot can simply jump out of the shoe.

There is an opinion that the best option is driving barefoot. But it also has its own nuances. On the one hand, maximum pedal sensitivity is ensured, and on the other hand, the risk of slipping increases in the summer, when the foot starts to sweat a lot. Therefore, quality footwear is still indispensable.

The best choice for men and women

Shoes for male drivers:

1. Moccasins. Such shoes have a unique advantage - they have a thin sole, so the contact with the gas pedal will be perfect. Today there is a wide choice of moccasins of various colors and tastes. A constant plus of such shoes is versatility. Moccasins can be worn with jeans or chinos. At the same time, you can’t wear them under a sports uniform or classic trousers.

This type of footwear is most popular among drivers abroad. For example, in the West, moccasins with special soles are often referred to as "driver's boots." For the manufacture of the sole, as a rule, special soft leather is used, which is protected by several rubber overlays.

The disadvantage of driving moccasins is that they are not designed for long trips on foot. This is not even due to convenience (wearing shoes does not cause discomfort). It's just that the thin sole of the moccasins wears out very quickly when walking on asphalt or dirt.

There are a few more disadvantages of such shoes that should be noted:

2. Sneakers. These shoes have a sporty focus, but can be an excellent choice for motorists. Please note that not all models are suitable for driving. Ideal - sneakers with a thin sole. If the shoes have a thick sole, then this option can hardly be called the best. For example, the same sneakers for volleyball, basketball or regular running should not be worn before a trip.

The downside to shoes with thick or foam soles is that they lack pedal feel. To avoid this, you need to choose products made of genuine leather with a mesh top. Plus such shoes - good ventilation and less sweating. You can also drive in sneakers, but your feet will sweat a lot in them.

3. Classic (strict) shoes , despite their seeming inconvenience, can be great for driving. Here the main requirements are the presence of a leather or synthetic sole. At the same time, the minimum thickness requirement remains unchanged.

A special issue is shoe models that have a narrow and long toe. They are forbidden for the driver, because at some point you can slip past the pedal or accidentally catch on the cockpit lining. If you really prefer ordinary shoes, then the best option is shoes with laces.

4. Winter boots or boots. Unfortunately, summer cannot last forever, and the car has to be operated even in cold weather. And here the approach to choosing shoes should be as responsible as possible. In practice, almost all men's shoes have a very wide and thick sole, which can lead to a number of problems. So when buying, be guided so that the product has a narrow and thin sole. In addition, if you are constantly in the city, then there is no need for thick winter shoes at all - a demi-season option is also suitable.

5. Sandals - it's not always the best choice for the driver. A lot depends on the style of the shoes. If you really give preference to sandals, then a prerequisite is a complete fit of the shape of the foot, the minimum width and thickness of the sole. If there is no such option in the store, then it is better to buy the moccasins discussed above.

6. Slippers for the driver are prohibited. Professionals even argue that the ban on such shoes for drivers will not interfere with the traffic rules. Main disadvantage slippers - an insufficient level of fixation on the leg and a wide sole. In such shoes, you can easily confuse the pedal and press the accelerator instead of the brake.

Every time you come to the mall to buy a new pair shoes, the first thing you want is to buy fashionable beautiful and high-quality shoes, boots, sneakers, shoes, etc. that will match your wardrobe. Unfortunately, when choosing shoes, a huge number of people do not take into account that in addition to beauty, fashion, you need to consider how comfortable the shoes will be in the car. The main task is to purchase comfortable and comfortable driving shoes that will not embarrass you and interfere with driving.

Despite the difference between men and women, when choosing shoes for a car, the same characteristics must be taken into account:

- The thickness of the sole, in order to feel the necessary effort to press the gas and brake pedals.

- Convenience

- Ankle security that should not slip when you press the foot on the pedal

- Heel support. The more securely the heel is on the floor of the car, the more confidently you press the gas and brake pedals.

First of all, we would like to point out that there is no ideal shoe for the car and everyday driving. Therefore, when you are looking for and choosing boots, boots or shoes, do not think that some shoes will improve your driving skills. Unfortunately, no shoes will help you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy the best shoes for your car. By purchasing comfortable driving shoes, you will reduce the risk of an accident and make driving more comfortable.

If you think that good shoes will not help you in case of unforeseen situations on the road, then this is a mistake. As a rule, in case of emergencies on the roads, everything is decided by moments and a few fractions of a second. This is where a well-chosen pair of shoes comes into play.

With the right shoes, you will improve your reaction time when it comes to emergency braking or when you need to accelerate hard. This is especially important if the machine is equipped. For example, good shoes improve the shift time by several times.

How to buy a beautiful and fashion shoes which also fits in the car? As we wrote above, finding the perfect shoes for everyday car trips is almost impossible. Therefore, the most optimal thing is to have a special pair of boots, sneakers or shoes for use in the car. This way, when you're not driving, you'll be wearing nice and trendy shoes that really suit your style of dress. But if you get behind the wheel, you can change your fashionable shoes into ones that are more comfortable, more comfortable and more suitable for use in a car.

It's better than using one pair of shoes for all occasions.

The first thing you should consider when buying car shoes is that the sole is thin. This is important because the thin sole will give you better feel on the gas and brake pedals. If the sole is too thick, it will be very difficult for you to feel the pedals (especially the gas pedal), and you will also put more pressure on the ankle, which will lead to foot fatigue. Remember, the more tension in your ankle, the greater the risk that your foot will not react quickly if you need to make a sudden movement. In addition, shoes should not be too wide and large, as there is a risk of pressing two pedals at the same time.

Also remember that car shoes should have non-slippery soles so that your foot does not slip when you press the pedals (especially if the car is equipped with a manual transmission).

Just because your shoes have good tread on the soles doesn't mean they won't slip on the floor. For example, in wet weather or in winter, even the most reliable shoes can slip due to moisture. Therefore, if your shoes are wet, it is better to wipe the sole before moving off. That's why it's best to keep an extra pair of shoes in the car.

Many may think that driving without shoes is better. After all, we wrote that the thinner the sole, the better you feel the gas and brake pedal. This is partly true, but there is one but. Yes, you can drive a car barefoot, but it's dangerous and not really safe.

Even though you have better pedal feel without shoes, your foot will tire quickly from the pressure you put on the pedals. Due to the increased load on the sole of the foot, you can get a microtrauma, which can lead to loss of control over the machine.

When choosing shoes, remember that when driving a vehicle, you must know that in order to maintain the speed of the car, you must keep the gas pedal in a certain position. for a long time. Therefore, it is important that your foot is not in weight, and the heel of the shoe is on the floor. That is why women are not recommended to wear boots or shoes with high heels, because the foot will not stand confidently on the floor, which leads to an increase in the reaction time of pressing the pedal, as well as to rapid leg fatigue.

This is especially true of the clutch pedal, when pressed, which the long heel can get stuck under the pedals if the sole of the foot moves to the side.

In principle, the most comfortable shoes for a car are classic sports sneakers. True, the maximum thickness of the sole should not exceed 10 mm, and be no thinner than 4 mm. Ordinary shoes are also ideal, which provide enough space for pedaling and will not cause problems due to the large size of the width of the shoe.

Absolutely all cars, except for some disabled ones, are equipped with control pedals. A manual transmission has three pedals, while an automatic has only two. Thus, at least one driver's foot is involved in driving the machine. And, believe me, it is not at all indifferent what this leg will be shod in.

Casual shoes designed for walking, athletic shoes for running, jumping and more active action. There are special shoes for windsurfing, climbing and even skydiving. However, there are shoes for drivers, but the latter often forget about it. If you look at what motorists are shod in, then most of all this will correspond to “whatever”. When buying shoes, most drivers think least of all about how comfortable it will be to press the pedals in new shoes. And if the average men's shoes are more or less suitable for driving, then most women's shoes are designed for completely different purposes.

The result of uncomfortable shoes on the feet of those who are driving is an emergency or an accident with the wording “lost control. Most often, control problems occur due to high heels, wedges, or too wide soles that cling to adjacent pedals.

No matter how strange it may sound, but the best footwear for driving a modern car is its absence. Yes, yes, barefoot driving would be the most comfortable, since the pedals are felt to the maximum, and the absence of any sole and heel means there are no restrictions on “foot manipulations”. However, we are not in Africa, and therefore driving barefoot is out of the question. However, comfortable driving shoes should be as close to the "barefoot" state as possible.

And there are shoes. It's about about moccasins, but not classic, but with a special sole, the heel of which goes to the back. In the West, such moccasins are often called "driver's shoes" (drivers shoos). Their sole is made of soft leather, which is protected by several rubber overlays. Driver's moccasins are clearly not for many hours of walking. And although they are very comfortable to step in, the sensitive leather sole of these shoes will quickly wear off on the pavement. There are only two drawbacks to such moccasins. First, they are designed for the warm season; secondly, their style is suitable only for a free style. For business people who wear formal suits, driving moccasins will not work. In their case, it is best to choose classic boots with leather soles. Moreover, it is desirable that they be on laces - then it will be possible to easily adjust the rise. If you have a long ride, then the laces need to be slightly loosened so that the instep of the foot is not squeezed.

Choosing the right shoes to drive a car is complicated by seasonality, clothing style, gender of the driver in the end. Obviously, it will not work to buy driver's shoes for all occasions. Therefore, the main rules for choosing among shoes of one category or another will be described below.

Male drivers

Moccasins with a thin sole that goes to the back. There is a huge selection of driving moccasins for every taste and color. These moccasins go well with jeans or chinos, but never with cargo pants or (sorry) tracksuits.

Sneakers
are not designed specifically for driving, but some models are quite suitable for this. It is necessary to choose sneakers with a thin sole, but one whose outlines are almost flush with the top. Thick rubber or foam soles are not suitable, which means that almost all running, basketball and volleyball shoes will not fit. You will not feel the pedal under your foot in such sneakers and lose tactile connection with the car. For the convenience of riding, it is desirable to prefer leatherette models to products made of genuine leather or with a mesh top. In these shoes, the foot sweats less. Driving shoes are good, but the foot sweats a lot in them.

Strict shoes can be quite comfortable to drive. To do this, their sole must be leather or, at worst, synthetic, but as thin as possible. Models with a long and narrow toe, which, by the way, are not worn anywhere except in our country, are life-threatening. These socks can catch on the lining of the cockpit and not get on the pedal at the right time. Shoes with laces are more preferable, as already mentioned above.

Winter boots and boots. The choice of winter shoes for driving should be treated with the greatest care. The fact is that most men's winter boots and boots are lined with a thick and wide sole, from which all problems arise. Therefore, there is only one selection criterion - the thinnest and narrowest sole. In the city in winter, you can generally get by with demi-season shoes if you do not have long transitions through snow and slush.

Sandals not always suitable as driving shoes. It all depends on their style. But since sandals are free-style summer shoes, it is better to replace them with driving loafers. By the way, moccasins can be worn barefoot, as is customary in Europe. By the way, Americans almost never wear driving moccasins on their bare feet, but this is already their problem.

If, nevertheless, the choice fell on sandils, then you should give preference to styles that maximally repeat the shape of the foot. The sole is again better thin and narrow.

Flip flops- are contraindicated for driving. It would even be necessary to introduce a separate clause in the traffic rules prohibiting driving in flip flops and slates. Due to the fact that such shoes are not fixed on the foot and, as a rule, have a wide sole, it is easy to get confused in the pedals in them. If need forces you to drive in slippers, then it is better to take them off and drive barefoot.

For female drivers

For female drivers, all “male” recommendations are valid, including driving moccasins, which are also produced in the female version. These are undoubtedly the most comfortable shoes for driving. But comfort, as you know, for most of the fair sex has never come first. Which of the women did not dream of a spectacular exit from the car ?! And what effect can we talk about if the legs are not “on heels”. However, it is not in vain that high-heeled shoes often flaunt on the rear windows of women's cars. It is this heel that can cause inadequate maneuver. But women somehow manage to get used to getting on the pedals, although, I must say, this is a rather risky business.

High-heels and the pedals of the car are combined extremely dangerously. If a woman cannot imagine herself without heels, as well as without a car, then she should get replacement low-speed shoes that will fit in the car.

Wedge or platform shoes. The degree of danger of such shoes is directly proportional to the thickness of the sole. In addition to the fact that the wedge deprives the foot of tactile contact with the pedal, it often clings to neighboring pedals, for example, when the foot is suddenly shifted from the gas pedal to the brake pedal.

Slippers- the option is not ideal. The heel will constantly slide off onto the mat, which will make it dirty. For the same reason, all kinds of slippers are not suitable. In addition, they are not fixed with the foot and can fly off at any moment, getting stuck in the pedals at the most inopportune moment.

Boots with heels dangerous in the same way as high-heeled shoes. There is only one advice here - do not be lazy to change into interchangeable car shoes, which are easy to hide under the driver's seat!
