Not all shoes are suitable for driving. Moreover, her wrong choice is fraught with extremely unpleasant consequences for the driver.

Heel

The heel of the driver's shoe should not be too high. The maximum that can be allowed is 3-4 centimeters, no more. It also needs to be wide enough to provide a stable footing.

Representatives of the fairer sex, wearing shoes or model boots with high stiletto heels, are strongly advised to have driving shoes, in which they could change their shoes while driving.

Changing shoes is not always convenient and takes up valuable time? But it will preserve your no less precious health and truly priceless life.

Sole

There is nothing worse than shoes with slippery soles, every now and then slide off the pedal. In this case, instead of driving comfortably and comfortably, you will endlessly grope and search for the car's pedals. But this takes up valuable time and distracts from the driving procedure.

It is unlikely that in shoes with a thick sole or platform, you will be able to fully feel the pedals, and in a critical situation it may happen that the accelerator pedal is pressed instead of the brake pedal.

Every extra millimeter of sole thickness reduces tactile contact with the driver's pedals for the driver. We are not encouraging you to drive with slippers on. In no case - the driver's leg must be securely fixed with dense, soft and comfortable shoes.

Other important "little things"

Model shoes with multiple buckles and other decorative elements can catch on the pedal at the most inopportune moment. The same applies to fashionable shoes or boots with long socks.

Open heel shoes also pose a safety hazard. There is no guarantee that at the decisive moment, for example, during the time, the foot will not slip out of such "slippers" and will not jump off the pedal.

Summing up

Driving shoes must be:

- comfortable;

- with a low and wide heel;

- with non-slip and not too thick sole;

- with a closed heel;

- without protruding decorative elements.

According to many automotive experts, soft moccasins are the best shoe for a car driver. In such shoes you will feel comfortable and confident driving a car.

Good luck to you! Not a nail, not a rod!

There are always plenty of men who want to advise a woman while driving on the choice of shoes or clothes. The instructor will probably advise you to drive in sneakers, and your husband will advise you not to approach the car in an impractical white coat. However, fortunately, you can ignore all these stupid advice. However, some others are still worth listening to!

Shoes for a woman driving

The most persistent myth on this topic is that it is very uncomfortable to drive a car in high-heeled shoes. Focusing on him, some girls go to driving lessons in sneakers, and then all their lives they suffer with a "change", changing their stylish stiletto heels into worn-out moccasins in the car. What for?

In fact, you can drive a car in almost any shoe! Perhaps, there are only two exceptions. The first is shoes or boots with very thin, high and unstable stilettos. You will either quickly break them, or you will have to keep your legs a little overhang all the time, without resting your heels on the floor. So you get tired very quickly.

The second taboo is shoes with a thick, rigid platform. It was very popular a few years ago, and some countries even passed laws prohibiting driving in it. The fact is that due to the stiff and thick sole, the foot feels the pedals very badly, and this greatly increases the likelihood of accidents.

All other shoes are fine while driving. In general, experts say that it’s not the shoes, but the car. For example, domestic cars, on which, by the way, most of us get their first driving lessons, heavy clutch, "brooding" brake and slow gas. As a result, the gas pedal, which for some reason is very high in our cars, has to be pressed constantly. Therefore, too high a heel or slippers with its complete absence create a lot of problems. In foreign cars, everything is done much more conveniently, the pedals are located more "humanly", the feet do not slip off them, so you will not have any special problems with the choice of shoes.

So it all depends on your style and personal preference. However, a few useful tips will not hurt you. So...

Tips for choosing shoes for women driving

It is believed that the ideal option for a woman driving is not sneakers at all, but pumps with a fairly soft sole and a 3-5 cm heel.

When choosing shoes, pay special attention to heels. Moreover, it is not so much their height as their stability that matters. So, for example, a fairly wide and stable heel 15 cm high is much more preferable than a thin 5-cm "glass".

If you are new to driving, try riding in more comfortable shoes before putting on high-heeled shoes to get a feel for the pedals.

When choosing shoes for the winter, remember that boots or boots with high lacing sometimes squeeze the leg and disrupt the blood supply, as well as hinder movement. Moreover, it is most inconvenient when the shoes are so narrow that the leg in the ankle area bends very badly.

Just as badly and uncertainly, your foot will feel the pedals in shoes with a stiff, stiff sole.

Buying a car is a great reason to save on winter boots. Shoes that are too warm while driving are not only unnecessary, but also dangerous. The fact is that if, under normal conditions, the foot of the foot emits up to 60 g of moisture per day, then the heat of the stove and too warm shoes will increase this indicator by 2-3 times.

For the same reason, in winter, when the stove is working, you should not wear shoes made of synthetic materials, in which the foot does not "breathe".

But when buying shoes for the summer, you should not at all give up comfortable open slippers. Only when choosing them, make sure that the foot does not jump out of them, and the sole is not too slippery.

If you decide to approach the choice of shoes very seriously, you can look for special "auto shoes", which some brands have, for example, Cesare Paciotti, Aldo Brue, Ganfranco Ferre, Alberto Guardiani and some others. True, it is not to say that it is distinguished by special elegance, since in style it is closest to moccasins or leather slippers with rubber soles (Americans call them drive shoes).

Several years ago, factories began to produce special leather shoes for women drivers. Production was reportedly discontinued soon after due to low demand. So what do modern auto ladies drive a car in? How to choose shoes for driving a car and is it important? The answers to these and other questions are in our article.

What are the ideal driving shoes?

The ideal shoes for a woman driving are not sneakers at all, but pumps with a fairly soft sole and 3-5 cm heels. Such shoes provide the driver's foot with maximum comfort and do not hinder movement.

If you are a fan of shoes with heels, then let me note that, first of all, it is not the height of the heel that matters, but its stability, pay attention to this when choosing shoes.

If you are a novice driver, do not rush to put on high-heeled shoes, drive the car in more comfortable shoes to “feel” the pedals.

A free heel, like a high-heeled heel, is completely unacceptable for driving a car. Interestingly, it never occurs to anyone for skiing to take sandals with them or for swimming - downhill skiing. But no one thinks about what to drive a car in. And many drivers have both ski boots and ballroom shoes on their feet.

Winter shoes for driving cars

In winter, when driving a car, choose boots and boots that will not shackle your leg; here you don't have to think about style - first of all, convenience.

Remember that lacing interferes with blood circulation, make sure that the leg flexes freely at the ankle.

Avoid shoes with stiff, stiff soles. It is better to increase the heating temperature of the car, but wear light, comfortable shoes than to suffer in high fur boots.

In winter, when the stove is working, you should not wear shoes made of synthetic materials, in which the foot does not "breathe" and sweats heavily. In summer, do not give up comfortable open slippers, the main thing is that the foot does not jump out of them, and the sole is not too slippery.

Driving shoes - change shoes on the spot!

Most women driving have already realized that it is necessary to carry suitable shoes with them and change into them while driving. After all, we are used to changing shoes when we come home, to visit and to the workplace. Why not make it a rule to do the same when driving.

If you have made the decision to change shoes while driving, this does not mean that you have to take old shoes with you that you cannot wear elsewhere.

Driving shoes should be closed, close-fitting and with a relatively flexible outsole, but not too loose in length or width, as in this case they can become more of a burden than a reliable assistant.

Skirt or pants in the car?

This is another fundamental issue when it comes to women's auto equipment. Of course, no one disputes that it is more convenient to drive in trousers, especially in jeans. However, this is not at all a reason to give up the feminine style behind the wheel and forget about skirts. The only problem is long and tight skirts. They are not only inconvenient to drive, but very few people can elegantly get into it. However, if you managed to sit down, then in the car you can lift the skirt a little and then there will be no inconvenience. And the man sitting next to him will be just happy!

Actually, it is not so much uncomfortable to drive a car in skirts as getting in and out of it. For example, if you have chosen a fluffy and long enough skirt, then before getting into the car, you need to pick it up slightly at hip level, then sit on the seat, and only then move your legs to the salon (both at the same time - this is a general rule for a woman). By the way, all the folds on the skirt must be smoothed out before you sit down. Doing this later, rising and smoothing them underneath, is considered bad form.

Outerwear for car mids

Now let's talk about choosing outerwear. Any woman, even the most orthodox fur lover, knows that it is not very convenient to drive a car in fur coats or sheepskin coats. And if they are also long, then it is almost impossible. The same applies to oversized coats and jackets. In all this, you feel extremely clumsy behind the wheel, and even with the stove turned off, it is very hot in such equipment.

Someone solves this problem by saving on the purchase of a fur coat and preferring a short jacket or a relatively light coat. By the way, the classic English quilted jacket is very comfortable and practical for driving a car. Unlike sports jackets, it goes well not only with trousers, but also with any, even the most glamorous skirts and dresses. At the same time, it does not wrinkle, keeps warm well and does not hinder movement. Quilt was created for horseback riding, and therefore is ideal for riding any horse, even iron.

The second option is not to deny yourself the pleasure of putting on a fur coat, or a sheepskin coat or an expensive long coat, but before getting into the car (or already in it) just take off your precious "skin" and fold it neatly in the back seat. If it is not too cold outside, the stove in the car works well, and you are not wearing a dress with bare shoulders, but something warmer - you will not freeze in the car. And about hats ... It is better not to wear caps, hats with large brims and especially hoods in the car, as they greatly limit the view. In addition, when the stove is running, it is also hot in them.

However, for those who like to dress in winter it is too easy and rely only on the stove, it is worthwhile to provide a backup option in case of an unforeseen breakdown of the car. The easiest option is to always keep an old warm jacket, hat and blanket in the trunk. Then you can always, without freezing, wait for the emergency gang, even if you find yourself in a 20-degree frost somewhere outside the city.

Driver's glasses

Sunglasses are something without which driving can be very dangerous. Moreover, they are necessary at any time of the year. In summer - to save your eyes from the bright sun shining directly into your face, and in winter - to protect yourself from the blinding white snow. It is advisable to keep your driving sunglasses in the glove compartment of your car at all times. You never know what situation you will find yourself in, and how the weather will change during the day!

A separate topic for discussion is the quality and coating of lenses. Remember that sunglasses are not worth saving on. And the point here is not at all a desire to show off! It's just that cheap glasses not only distort the correct color rendition, but also cause fatigue and even eye diseases. The best option is if the lenses are made of optical glass and are photochromic, that is, they change their transmittance depending on the illumination. They are usually called "chameleons", and the color of their glasses depends on the brightness of the sun and whether it shines at all. In addition, glasses must be polarized, that is, they extinguish sun glare on the surface of the water, wet road and snow.

If you are not buying "chameleons", then pay attention to how much the glasses are darkened. If they are too dark, then you will not be able to use them at dusk to protect from the glare of the headlights of cars going to the meeting. Light ones will not protect their eyes from the sun. But the question of the color of the glasses is not so fundamental, although experts advise against choosing red and pink glasses for driving. And glasses with green lenses will best protect you from the bright sun and blinding snow. And about gloves ...

Professional racing drivers are convinced that gloves prevent hands from slipping on the steering wheel, as well as reduce grip strength and reduce joint fatigue. And in extreme situations, when the impact of the car's wheels on some obstacle is transmitted to the steering wheel and can knock it out, gloves are a must.

However, even if you drive a good city car and drive a sports car around the track, gloves still do not hurt. Classic - these are traditional automobile gloves with cropped or slightly cut off "fingers", or with slots in the folds of the fingers, as well as a wrist lock in the form of a button or Velcro. This is exactly what the gloves look like, which can be bought at car dealerships of leading car brands.

However, a woman can replace this accessory for racers with ordinary leather or suede gloves. It is only desirable that they are not too dense and do not interfere with the fingers to feel the steering wheel.

By the way, all of the above is not a reason to forget about such a useful thing in the car as a set of rubber or cotton gloves "just in case". Well, you can't put on your thin sand-colored suede gloves to get under the hood to fill in the windshield washer or to open the gas tank cap at a gas station!

Safety, practicality or beauty?

In general, when choosing clothes, shoes and accessories for driving a car, any woman is faced with the fact that it is difficult for her to comply with three conditions: beauty, safety and practicality. What should be the main thing? Well, security is definitely not worth sacrificing! Therefore, everything that constrains your movements while driving, interferes with the view and distracts it is better to exclude from the wardrobe. But sacrifice beauty for the sake of practicality is not worth it. After all, driving a car is a pleasure, not a job at a machine. And you need to look at the wheel so that you feel confident and irresistible.

Do you like white? Feel free to wear a white coat or pants! Just try to be a little tidier, wash the outside of the car and clean the inside more often - and nothing will happen to your white clothes.

So what if, because of the frequent pressing on the pedal, the shoes deteriorate and peel off (the heel and heels are especially badly affected)! This is not a reason to forget about your favorite shoes or boots! By the way, many especially practical women, when driving in winter, abandon suede shoes in favor of more practical leather ones. Indeed, in the cold season, dirt usually accumulates on the rug under your feet, and it is much more difficult to clean suede shoes later. However, if you regularly wash the rugs, your love with suede shoes will be mutual.

A car for a style or a style for a car?

No man would ever dream of buying a car to match the color of his favorite coat! And he will come to the woman! Sometimes, on the contrary, when some details of the wardrobe are matched to the color and style of the car. And there is nothing wrong with that! A really stylish girl should be "in character" and in her own car.

For those who are not confident in their own abilities, stylists give the following tips:

An equally expensive and glamorous style is ideally combined with a very noticeable car (for example, a convertible or just an expensive car of a bright color): furs, jewelry, designer items, rich shades, lace, velvet. If jeans - then only very expensive. And no modest "garbage" style with things of faded colors and democratic knitwear.

The sports car matches the wardrobe in the same style: an expensive velor tracksuit, sweatshirts with flashy slogans, oversized sunglasses.

The classic car, the design of which evokes memories of retro style, requires conservatism in clothing and a hint of fashion from the times of our mothers. You may look like an aristocratic lady or a sophisticated intellectual, but in any case, a few vintage things should appear in your arsenal.

Lovers of serious and pretentious "male" cars should stick to the image of a confident business woman: expensive formal suits, restrained colors, classic style and expensive accessories.

And if you prefer tiny, purely ladies' cars, you need to look as airy and funnier as possible: cheerful colors, petite dresses, small handbags and an abundance of jewelry.

If you are a fan of French cars, you will have to match their charm and try to turn into a true Parisian: everything is extremely feminine, flowing silhouettes, bows and elegant shoes.

But the owners of not too pretentious and very practical city cars can afford absolute comfort and convenience in clothes: moccasins, jeans and cozy knitwear are what you need.

By the way, if you have already decided on the style for a long time, and you are just going to buy a car, can you try to choose a car based not on the engine size and interior design, but on your clothing preferences? It will certainly be very feminine!

When choosing shoes, most people (especially women) focus not on the practicality of the product, but on its appearance and beauty. This approach can be justified if a piece of clothing is chosen for a festive occasion or for a certain outfit. Think differently when shopping for driving shoes. Here, the quality of the material, convenience, form and other points come to the fore. But more about everything.

General characteristics

If you often have to drive, then buying quality shoes should be a priority. In this case, the product must meet a number of criteria:

  • Be relatively soft, durable and non-slip. Thanks to such a sole, you can drive a vehicle with greater confidence and not worry that your foot will accidentally jump off the pedal;

  • For women, the height of the heel should not be more than three centimeters. Otherwise, when you press the brake sharply, the heel will act as a limiter and will not allow you to press the pedal normally. If, after all, high heels are a vital necessity, then in the car it is enough to have a spare pair of other shoes. When leaving the car, you just need to change into a more comfortable pair;

  • Have a short and neat toe. It is important that when one pedal is pressed, the case does not touch the other, as well as foreign objects, for example, the same rug;

  • Have a small thickness of the sole. While driving, the motorist must feel the car and the accelerator pedal itself, and too thick sole on the shoe is a hindrance to this;

  • Be comfortable. It is important for the car enthusiast that nothing distracts him from driving. If the shoes rub or crush, then there is an additional annoying and distracting factor, which increases the risk of getting into an accident;

  • Support the heel. During movement, the heel should always be in place and securely fixed in the shoe. Otherwise, at the most important moment in time, the leg can simply jump out of the shoe.

It is believed that the best option is barefoot driving. But there are also nuances here. On the one hand, the pedal sensitivity is maximized, and on the other hand, the risk of slipping increases in the summer, when the foot begins to sweat a lot. Therefore, you still cannot do without high-quality shoes.

The best choice for men and women

Shoes for male drivers:

1. Moccasins. This shoe has the unique advantage of having a thin sole, so contact with the gas pedal is perfect. Today there is a wide selection of moccasins in various colors and tastes. An invariable plus of such shoes is versatility. Loafers can be worn under jeans or chinos. At the same time, you cannot wear them under a sports uniform or classic trousers.

This shoe option is most popular among drivers abroad. For example, in the West, moccasins with special soles are often called “driver's boots”. For the manufacture of the sole, as a rule, special soft leather is used, which is protected by several rubber pads.

The downside of driving moccasins is that they are not designed for long journeys on foot. This is not even due to convenience (wearing shoes does not cause discomfort). It's just that the thin sole of moccasins wears out very quickly when walking on asphalt or ground.

There are several more disadvantages of such shoes, which should be noted:

2. Sneakers. These shoes have a sporty focus, but can be an excellent choice for car enthusiasts. Please note that not all models are suitable for driving. Sneakers with thin soles are ideal. If the shoe has a thick sole, then this option can hardly be called the best. For example, the same sneakers for volleyball, basketball or regular running should not be worn before a trip.

The downside to sneakers with thick or foam soles is that they lack pedal feel. To avoid this, you need to choose genuine leather products with a mesh top. The advantage of these shoes is good ventilation and less sweating. You can also drive in sneakers, but your feet will sweat a lot.

3. Classic (strict) shoes , despite their apparent inconvenience, can be excellent for driving. Here, the main requirements are the presence of a leather or synthetic sole. At the same time, the requirement for the minimum thickness remains unchanged.

A special issue is shoe models with a narrow and long toe. They are prohibited for the driver, because at some point you can slip past the pedal or accidentally catch on the cockpit lining. If you really give preference to ordinary shoes, then the best option is lace-up shoes.

4. Winter boots or boots. Unfortunately, summer cannot last forever, and the car has to be operated even in cold weather. And here the approach to the choice of shoes should be as responsible as possible. In practice, almost all men's shoes have very wide and thick soles, which can lead to a number of problems. So when buying, be guided by the fact that the product has a narrow and thin sole. In addition, if you are constantly in the city, then there is no need at all for thick winter shoes - the demi-season option is also suitable.

5. Sandals is not always the best choice for a driver. Much depends on the style of the shoe. If we give preference to sandals, then a prerequisite is full fitting of the shape of the foot, the minimum width and thickness of the sole. If there is no such option in the store, then it is better to buy the moccasins discussed above.

6. Slippers for the driver are prohibited. Professionals even argue that the prohibition clause for such shoes for drivers will not interfere with the traffic rules. The main disadvantage of the flip-flops is the insufficient level of fixation on the foot and the wide sole. In such shoes, you can easily confuse the pedal and press the accelerator instead of the brake.

Every time you come to the mall to buy a new pair of shoes, the first thing you want is to buy fashionable beautiful and high quality shoes, boots, sneakers, shoes, etc. that will match your wardrobe. Unfortunately, when choosing shoes, a huge number of people do not take into account that, in addition to beauty, fashion, it is necessary to take into account how comfortable the shoes will be in the car. The main task is to purchase comfortable and comfortable driving shoes that will not restrict you and interfere with driving.

Despite the difference between men and women, when choosing shoes for a car, you need to take into account the same characteristics:

- The thickness of the sole, in order to feel the necessary force to press the gas and brake pedal.

- Convenience

- Ankle stability that should not slip when the foot is pressed on the pedal

- Heel support. The more secure the heel is on the floor of the car, the more confidently you press the accelerator and brake pedal.

First of all, we would like to point out that there is no ideal shoe for the car and normal everyday driving. Therefore, when you search for and choose boots, boots or shoes, do not assume that some kind of shoes will improve your driving skills. Unfortunately, no footwear will help you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy the optimal shoe for your car. By purchasing comfortable driving shoes, you will reduce the risk of an accident and make driving more comfortable.

If you think that good shoes will not help you in case of unforeseen accidents on the road, then this is a mistake. As a rule, in case of emergencies on the road, everything is decided by moments and a few fractions of a second. This is where a well-chosen pair of shoes comes into play.

Fitting the right shoes will improve your reaction time when it comes to emergency braking or when you need to accelerate. This is especially important if the machine is equipped. For example, good footwear improves gear shifting times by several times.

How do you buy beautiful and fashionable shoes that will also fit in your car? As we wrote above, it is almost impossible to find the perfect shoes for everyday travel by car. Therefore, it is most optimal to have a special pair of boots, sneakers or shoes for use in the car. This way, when you are not driving, you will be wearing beautiful and fashionable shoes that really suit your style of clothing. But if you get behind the wheel, you can change your fashionable shoes into more comfortable, more comfortable shoes that are more suitable for use in the car.

It's better than using one pair of shoes for all occasions.

The first thing to consider when shopping for car shoes is to keep the sole thin. This is important because the thinner outsole will give you a better feel on the accelerator and brake pedal. If the sole is too thick, it will be very difficult for you to feel the pedals (especially the gas pedal), and you will also put more pressure on the ankle, which will lead to leg fatigue. Remember, the more stress on the ankle, the greater the risk that your leg will not react quickly if you need to make a sudden movement. In addition, the shoes should not be too wide and too large, as there is a risk of pressing two pedals at the same time.

Also remember that car shoes should have non-slippery soles so that the foot does not slip when you press the pedals (especially if the car is equipped with a manual transmission).

Just because your shoe has good tread in the outsole doesn’t mean it will prevent your feet from slipping on the floor. For example, in wet weather or in winter, even the most reliable shoes can slip due to moisture. Therefore, if your shoes are wet, it is best to wipe off the soles before starting to move. This is why it is best to keep an extra pair of shoes in the car.

Many people might think that driving without boots is better. After all, we wrote that the thinner the sole, the better you feel the accelerator and brake pedal. This is partly true, but there is one but. Yes, you can drive barefoot, but it is traumatic and not really safe.

Even though you can feel the pedals better without shoes, your foot will quickly tire of the pressure you put on the pedals. Due to the increased load on the sole of the foot, you can get micro-trauma, which can lead to a loss of control over the machine.

When choosing shoes, remember that when driving a vehicle, you must be aware that to maintain the speed of the car, you must keep the accelerator pedal in a certain position for a long time. Therefore, it is important that your foot is not suspended and the heel of your shoe is on the floor. That is why it is not recommended for women to wear boots or high-heeled shoes, since the foot will not stand confidently on the floor, which leads to an increase in the response time of pressing the pedal, as well as to quick fatigue of the foot.

This is especially true for the clutch pedal, when pressed, with which the long heel can get stuck under the pedals if the sole of the foot moves to the side.

In principle, the most comfortable shoes for a car are classic sports sneakers. True, the maximum thickness of the sole should not exceed 10 mm, and not be thinner than 4 mm. Ordinary shoes are ideal as well, as they provide enough space to press the pedals and will not cause problems due to the large width of the shoe.

Absolutely all cars, except for some disabled people, are equipped with control pedals. The manual transmission has three pedals, while the automatic has only two. Thus, at least one of the driver's feet is involved in driving the machine. And, believe me, it is not at all indifferent what this leg will be shod with.

Casual shoes are designed for walking, sports shoes for running, jumping and other active activities. There are special shoes for windsurfing, rock climbing and even skydiving. However, there are shoes for drivers, but the latter are often forgotten about it. If you look at what car enthusiasts are wearing, then most of all this will correspond to "whatever it is." The last thing most drivers think about when buying shoes is how comfortable it will be to press the pedals in new shoes. And if the average men's shoes are more or less suitable for driving, then most of the models of women's shoes are created for completely different purposes.

The result of uncomfortable shoes on the feet of those who sit behind the wheel is an emergency or an accident with the wording “I lost control. Most often, handling problems are due to high heels, wedges, or too wide a sole that clings to adjacent pedals.

As strange as it may sound, the best shoe for driving a modern car is its absence. Yes, it would be most convenient to drive barefoot, since the pedals are felt as much as possible, and the absence of any sole and heel means that there are no restrictions on “foot manipulation”. However, we are not in Africa, and therefore barefoot driving is out of the question. However, comfortable driving shoes should be as close to barefoot as possible.

And there are such shoes. We are talking about moccasins, but not classic ones, but with a special sole, the heel of which goes to the heel. In the West, these moccasins are often called “drivers shoos”. Their sole is made of soft leather, which is protected by several rubber pads. Driving moccasins are clearly not for many hours of walking. While it is very comfortable to step in, the shoe's delicate leather outsole will quickly wear off on the pavement. There are only two disadvantages of such moccasins. First, they are designed for the warm season; secondly, their style is only suitable for a free style. For business people who wear formal suits, driving moccasins are not suitable. In their case, it is best to choose classic boots with leather soles. Moreover, it is desirable that they are on laces - then it will be possible to easily adjust the rise. If you have a long trip, the laces need to be loosened a little so that the instep is not squeezed.

Choosing the right shoes for driving is complicated by seasonality, clothing style, and the gender of the driver in the end. Obviously, you won't be able to buy driver's shoes for all occasions. Therefore, the following will describe the main rules for choosing among shoes of a particular category.

Male drivers

Moccasins with a thin sole extending to the heel. There is a huge selection of driving moccasins for every taste and color. These moccasins go well with jeans or chinos, but never go with cargo pants or (sorry) tracksuit.

Sneakers
not specifically designed for driving, however some models are quite suitable for this. It is necessary to choose sneakers with thin soles, but such, the outlines of which are almost flush with the top. Thick rubber or foam soles will not work, which means almost all running, basketball, and volleyball shoes will not work. You will not feel the pedal under your feet in these sneakers and will lose the tactile connection with the car. For the convenience of driving, it is advisable to prefer products made of genuine leather or with a mesh top to leatherette models. In these sneakers, the leg sweats less. Driving shoes are good, but they sweat a lot on the foot.

Formal shoes can be quite comfortable to drive. To do this, their sole should be leather or, at worst, synthetic, but as thin as possible. Models with long and narrow toes, which, by the way, are not worn anywhere except here, are life-threatening. Such socks can catch on the cockpit lining and not get on the pedal at the right time. Lace-up shoes are more preferable, as already mentioned above.

Winter boots and boots... The choice of winter driving shoes should be taken with the utmost care. The fact is that most men's winter boots and boots are lined with thick and wide soles, from which all the problems. Therefore, there is only one selection criterion - the thinnest and narrowest sole. In the city in winter, you can generally get by with demi-season shoes, if you do not have long crossings in snow and slush.

Sandals they are not always suitable as driver's shoes. It all depends on their style. But since sandals are free style summer shoes, it is better to replace them with driver's moccasins. By the way, moccasins can be worn on bare feet, as is customary in Europe. By the way, Americans almost never wear driving moccasins on their bare feet, but this is already their problem.

If, nevertheless, the choice fell on sandilia, then preference should be given to the styles that maximally repeat the shape of the foot. The sole, again, is better thin and narrow.

Flip flops- contraindicated for driving. It would even be necessary to introduce a separate clause in the traffic rules prohibiting driving in flip-flops and slates. Due to the fact that such shoes are not fixed on the foot and, as a rule, have a wide sole, it is as easy as shelling pears to get tangled in the pedals. If the need makes you sit behind the wheel in slippers, then it is better to take them off and go barefoot.

Female drivers

For female drivers, all "male" recommendations are valid, including driving moccasins, which are also produced in the female version. These are undoubtedly the most comfortable driving shoes. But comfort, as you know, for the majority of the fair sex has never come first. Who among women has not dreamed of a spectacular exit from a car?! And what effect can we talk about if the legs are not "on heels." However, it is not in vain that high-heeled shoes often flaunt on the rear windows of women's cars. It is this heel that can cause inadequate maneuver. But women somehow manage to get used to getting on the pedals, although, I must say, this is a rather risky business.

High-heels and the car's pedals are extremely dangerous to combine. If a woman cannot imagine herself without heels, as well as without a car, then she should get replaceable shoes at low speed, which will be registered in the car.

Wedge or platform shoes... The degree of danger of such shoes is directly proportional to the thickness of the sole. In addition to the fact that the wedge heel deprives the foot of tactile contact with the pedal, it often clings to adjacent pedals, for example, when the foot is suddenly moved from the gas pedal to the brake pedal.

Mules- the option is not ideal. The heel will constantly slide onto the mat, making it dirty. For the same reason, all kinds of slippers are not suitable. In addition, they are not fixed with the foot and can fly off at any moment, getting stuck in the pedals at the most inopportune moment.

High heel boots dangerous in the same way as high-heeled shoes. There is only one piece of advice - do not be lazy to change into removable car shoes that can be easily hidden under the driver's seat!
