In fact, I don’t really have anything to compare with, since I rarely go anywhere, but I will share my impressions about the hotel and the trip
When planning a trip, we (with my husband) faced the question of where it is better to go to Sochi or Anapa. The tour operator advised us to go to Sochi, namely to the Imeretinsky district, because. the area is new and ennobled as much as possible, we all understand in connection with what events, which is a definite plus for tourists not only from Russia, but also from other countries.
The trip was designed for 11 days and 10 nights, but we only enjoyed the rest for 9 days due to late arrival and early departure. I must say right away, buy a ticket for more days, so as not to regret later like me ... The cost does not change much from the number of days, but the difference is felt. The cost of our tour was 72,000 rubles for two. This amount included accommodation, flights, transfers and insurance.
Flight. We flew on a direct flight from Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) to Sochi (Adler) with the Rossiya airline. Flight time is about 4.5 hours. In general, I liked everything, I think the main thing is to get there safely, the rest is not so important.
Accommodation. As far as I know, the city-hotel Velvet Seasons is divided into four quarters: Chistye Prudy, Ekaterininsky Quarter, Russian House and Alexander Garden itself. Alexander Garden is also divided into two sections: 11 and 11L - we lived on 11. On the site itself there are several five-story buildings - they have rooms, the main reception, pharmacies, shops, several cafes, bicycle rental and others are located separately Vehicle(scooters, scooters, etc.). The entire territory of the quarter is fenced, entrance and exit is carried out through the checkpoint. For guests with cars, a free parking space is provided on site. I want to note that the territory of the hotel is not small, spacious and at the same time very comfortable to be on it.
As I said, we lived on the 11th plot, in building No. 6 - opposite the main reception. What was disappointing was the lack of a balcony in the room, but we were pleased with the floor-to-ceiling windows, due to which the room turned out to be very bright.
From furniture and household appliances in the room: a bed (in our case, a double bed, there are rooms with two single beds), two bedside tables, a wardrobe (you can both hang things in it and fold it), a table, two chairs, a mirror, air conditioning, TV, refrigerator for cooling drinks, hair dryer. If you looked at the photos on the official website of the Velvet Seasons, you can safely believe them, everything is exactly the same as in the photo.
The room is cleaned every day, the only "but" is that it only includes a change of towels, bed linen (once every 3 days) and soap and water supplies (soap, shampoo, shower gel). At least I did not notice dusting and vacuum cleaner marks on the carpet.
There is Wi-Fi on the territory of the hotel, the signal is weak, but for Instagram and VKontakte it will do. Each building has an ironing room. Also, for a fee, of course, you can use the laundry service (1 wash / 1000r).
Entertainment. Not far from the hotel there is a pebbly beach South Star, about 15 minutes walk to it. On the way to the beach there are souvenir shops, as well as shops with goods for swimming.
On the beach you can rent a sunbed (250r / day), a beach umbrella (100r / day), in addition there is a shower, changing rooms. Beach hours from 8:00 to 20:00.
In addition to the sea in Sochi, you can go, for example, to the fountain show, which takes place near the fisht stadium or the Sochi Park amusement park. There are guides throughout the region and invite them to travel around Abkhazia, to the mountains, to sea cruises, etc.
Food. We thought about food even before buying a ticket. We wanted to buy a ticket with breakfast, but the travel company advised us not to eat at the hotel, because. it's unreasonably expensive. And indeed - a ticket with breakfast cost 82,000 rubles, which is about 500 rubles per person. Therefore, we usually ate in the Yuzhnaya dining room, next to the beach, I recommend it to everyone who travels to the Imereti resort. Of all the canteens in which we have been, this is the most decent in terms of cost and quality. The average check for two is 400 rubles.
The dining room has an incredibly huge selection, there are also dishes cooked on the grill. The interior is very modern, there are even tables outside - it's very cozy to sit there in the evening
There are some problems with grocery stores and supermarkets in Sochi. It seems to be full of shops, but the prices ... are simply huge, and the assortment is so-so. A bottle of ordinary one and a half liter water is 100 rubles, what did I expect from a resort city? Having gone to such stores a couple of times, we found Magnit at least for a decent price and stopped using their services, which is what I wish you.
Conclusion. In general, I really enjoyed my vacation. I went to the sea to just lie down and enjoy the warmth and sun, so the issue of housing was not very worrying. It seems to me that nothing is perfect, and the city-hotel Velvet Seasons is also not ideal in terms of price-quality ratio, but despite this, I recommend it as a temporary, not long-term stay.
