SUPER phone! I learned it so much that I was already taking it out of my pants pocket
already typed any necessary menu item with the keys, even calmly
dialed the call number without error.
Now, in 2017, I want to buy it again in the form of a time machine, because.
an indecent number of pleasant moments associated with him in 2005-summer)

Highscreen Tasty :

Svetlana:

Stylish handy smartphone with a good camera and a nice metal case. Not a very capacious battery, but I don’t particularly load the phone, I have enough for a day and a half. The screen is very bright and easy to read. Lte, 2 sims, a confident signal even in a village near Tula, where he usually catches in only one place, moreover, on the stairs and with his arm outstretched. The camera is ordinary, on the screen the pictures seem brighter and more saturated than when you throw them on the computer. If someone prints pictures from smart, you will need to slightly process them in Photoshop for brightness. I took a promotion in the official store, for the price at which I got it, smart chic.

Highscreen Power Ice :

Catherine:

A very successful model for such a price, both externally and in terms of filling. Firstly, a beautiful design, comfortable to hold in your hand, has a fairly durable body. Secondly, it works well: I easily use all applications, quickly finds 3G, LTE, wi-fi. I like the camera too. I thought that 8 megapixels would not be enough for clear pictures. It's surprisingly long without a charge given how much time I spend on social media, listening to music, and constantly using apps. No more than once every 2 days I only charge. In addition, a good amount of memory. I often download something and while I am saving pictures on the device. In general, a very convenient and inexpensive phone. I gladly recommend using

Highscreen Power Five EVO :

Igor:

The biggest plus of this device is the battery. Even maybe not so much a battery as a balance, so to speak. I charge every 3-4 days, while this did not particularly affect the design, it is quite decent, not a brick and not a shovel. Not the most powerful processor, but nevertheless it does not freeze, with the installation of toy applications and any other little things necessary for work and entertainment, there are no problems, everything pulls with a bang. Surprisingly decent main camera, front camera is not ice. The speaker does not wheeze, the interlocutor is heard well, the sound in the headphones is completely normal. For the price, this is a great option.

Dmitry:

A good smartphone for a good price, the battery lasts a long time, the camera shoots with high quality, the processor with RAM pulls most games.

Highscreen Boost 3 Pro :

Matvey:

Sound is the bomb! I took it because of the sound and the battery, the rest is not critical for me, the main thing is to call, not be buggy and not be littered with all sorts of rubbish in the form of unnecessary applications. With a small battery I go for 2 days, you can safely take a large one for a weekend trip where there are no outlets. It is well assembled, it does not creak anywhere, the lid does not lag behind, the charging socket is also durable (in principle, no wonder, I charge it infrequently). The camera is average, it will do for amateur photos, you can also see the text, for everything else I have a SLR. The Internet does not slow down, the application pulls calmly, but I have not tried it on heavy games. Well done manufacturers that did not put headphones in the kit, with cheap plugs for 150 re, there will be no sound, you need good headphones like Sennheiser or Fisher, otherwise you won’t feel a mega-sound, you won’t appreciate the chip.

In the middle segment for a long time one of the most popular models was Siemens C55. At the time of its appearance, it was the most functional device of its class, which made it possible to maintain its sales at a high level for almost two years. The continuation of the C-series in the face of C60, C62 can be considered as intermediate solutions, they did not bring anything new in comparison with competitors, they had low sales. The C65 model has become important for the company, since Siemens' position in many markets depended on its success (in the future, this is the best-selling model, which will straighten out sales of budget devices as well). The characteristics of the device have changed several times, so at the time of the announcement it indicated 3 MB of memory available to the user (the same data on the Siemens website in a number of materials, for example, in the Data Sheet), but now the device has 11 MB of memory, of which 6 are initially available to the user . In terms of memory capacity and functionality, the device is almost an exact copy of the older models - CX65 and M65. The difference lies in a simplified design, programmatically reduced infrared capabilities, a smaller screen, a worse camera and a different battery. On the one hand, this is not so little, on the other hand, the model is one of the best in its class.

The design of the phone follows the Siemens traditions, and the plastic is markedly inexpensive (especially the rear panel), because somehow it is necessary to separate the model from its older brothers, to make it less attractive. The front panel is quite attractive, it combines glossy and matte plastic. It is difficult to evaluate the design of the model, as it is a subjective matter, but we can say that the quality of the materials in the C65 is comparable to devices of this class, the model loses only to the Motorola C650 in this parameter.

The build quality is not satisfactory, the panels have no backlash, the device does not creak in the hands. Removing the panels is easy, just use the key that is included in the kit.

The screen has a resolution of 130x130 pixels (28x28 mm), which allows displaying up to 7 lines of text and one service line. The display shows up to 65000 colors (STN), this is the highest quality screen among those that are installed on modern devices of this class. So, it is better than in Motorola C650. In CX65, M65 the screen is bigger, better in sunlight. Indoors, the screens are completely comparable.

In the sun, the screen fades, due to its small physical size, this is more critical than for large screens, the information is less visible. You can change the contrast settings to make the picture look better in the sun. Traditionally, there is a function to change the font size, you can make it very large, which will allow you not to think about the sun. This feature is also interesting for visually impaired people. For rooms, it is interesting to adjust the brightness of the backlight.

The keypad is made of plastic and backlit in orange. The brightness of the backlight is uneven, the symbols are not visible in all conditions. The navigation joystick is comfortable to use, there are no accidental scrolling. The numeric keypad is also quite comfortable, there are no problems with it.

On the left side surface you can see an IrDA window, on the upper left side there is a hole for attaching a strap. The standard interface connector is located on the bottom end. There is a connector for an antenna adapter on the rear surface of the device, next to it is a CIF camera window.

The phone uses a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 600 mAh. According to the manufacturer, it can provide up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 410 hours of standby time. Under the conditions of the Moscow MTS network, the device worked for 4 days with 45 minutes of calls and up to 45 minutes of using other functions. In terms of operating time, this model proved to be better than the older models (CX65, M65), the reason being the smaller screen. For its class, the device has a good operating time. The battery is fully charged in an hour and a half.

Menu

The main menu is represented by a set of 9 icons, there is a quick navigation using digital sequences. It is possible to assign the call of the most used functions to the number keys. Submenus are represented by lists, everything is traditional here. You can navigate through the menu using digital sequences. In general, the possibilities of navigating through the phone's menu are close to the maximum, which cannot but rejoice. Localization of the menu and input is complete, it is similar to other devices of the company.

By analogy with Alcatel phones, there is an event log that displays all missed calls, messages, missed reminders, alarms. To some extent it is more logical and more user-friendly. Thus, the left soft key corresponds to the log that appears along with the first event. By pressing the left soft key, you enter the list from which you can view each individual event, all of them are signed by type (call, alarm clock, message and have the first line - phone number, start of message, alarm time, etc.).

To compare the convenience of a single event log with the usual organization of missed calls, let me remind you how it happens in Nokia phones (you can also use another manufacturer, but if Siemens competes with this company, we will compare them). So, missed calls have the highest priority, you will see an inscription about them on the screen. After reviewing the information about calls and entering the standby mode, you will see information about incoming messages. After viewing them, you will see information about missed reminders and so on. As you can see, the organization of a single list looks justified.

Phone book. The phone memory is shared dynamically among all applications, but there is a limit of 1000 names for the phone book. For one name, you can record data such as last name and first name, main phone, work, mobile, two fax numbers, two postal addresses, link, company name, address (city, street, postal code, country). In addition to these fields, it is possible to enter a date of birth, turn on a warning about it. Plus, any name in the phone book can be associated with any graphic file, both a photograph and just a picture.

In the general list for the name, icons of all fields (in one or two lines) that were filled in for the name are displayed. The photo is not displayed in the list, to view it, you must enter the name view.

The phone has 9 groups of subscribers, each can be renamed, choose your own picture. Groups can be assigned their own ringtone, but it is useless to look for this setting in the address book menu, it is located in the call settings menu. It's not entirely logical, but it's worth getting used to it once.

With incoming calls, the subscriber's picture is not displayed in full screen, but it is quite large. Another disadvantage is that the number is displayed in the first seconds, then, if there is a photo, it is replaced. Also, the number type is not displayed, only the name. In general, even when making an outgoing call, you click on the name of the subscriber, select the desired number from the list and call. The icon for all numbers is the same, there is no difference. In this regard, a logical question arises, why do you need to split into groups of different numbers at all, with the exception of synchronization with a PC? You cannot reassign individual fields, that is, if the subscriber has two mobile phones, then you will have to record the second one as the main or work one. This does not create any particular inconvenience, but confusion can arise, especially if you have many friends with a large number of mobile devices.

Messages. Up to 100 messages can be stored in the phone's memory and again the memory is allocated dynamically, this should be kept in mind. The general list displays both messages from the phone memory and the SIM card, the latter are marked with the corresponding icon. You can create message templates, separate folders. The phone has MMS, the settings are quite simple, guided by the data of your operator, you will make them in 3-4 minutes (for Moscow and St. Petersburg, they are pre-installed). For MTS, the settings may be incorrect, so they should be checked and corrected according to the data from the operator's website. Naturally, it is better to turn on packet data and use it to deliver and receive multimedia messages, it will be cheaper this way.

When composing messages, I liked the interface, now you can quickly navigate between individual pages, you do not need to call the context menu. A pleasant surprise were the warnings about the size of the message that are displayed when trying to send it. You must also specify the time during which the message can be delivered to the addressee (from an hour to eternity). If your carrier charges for message size, then this feature is important. MMS messages can be received manually or automatically, there is also an option for automatic receiving only in the home network, and not in roaming. Curiously, in the case of choosing automatic mode, the phone honestly warns that this method can sometimes be expensive.

The limit on the size of an MMS message is 100 Kb, which is typical for most modern models.

The phone has the ability to create your own templates or, if you like, text blanks for all occasions. In terms of messaging, the phone is not bad, it is at the level of the best models. A nice additional feature is the choice of font size when viewing messages (standard, large and small). You have freedom of choice.

Call lists. The last 100 dialed, 100 received and 100 missed calls are stored in the phone's memory, time and date are indicated for each entry, and you can also view the duration of the call. Such large call lists can be seen for the first time in a regular phone, not a smartphone. This allows you not to summarize calls from one number that go in a row, but to record them separately. The phone type is not specified for entries from the phone book, but the number itself is displayed explicitly.

My Stuff. Their folders contain all programs, files, everything is structured and easy to understand. There are two ways to present folders as a list or as small icons. For photographs, the second type of display is preferred. Unfortunately, all standard folders look the same in the second type of display, which creates some confusion, you have to look at the captions at the top.

The phone has about 11 MB of memory, about 6 MB is initially available to the user (depending on pre-installed applications).

Settings. This menu contains everything that, one way or another, is related to the functionality of the phone. We will not dwell on individual menu items, we will only say that if there is no need for GPRS, it is better to disable the corresponding menu item, then the battery charge will last for a longer time. The use of packet transmission greatly affects the operating time, it can be almost halved (with the same number of calls).

There is a choice of menu color schemes. Traditionally, you can configure how the phone will behave in various conditions (vibration alert, ring tones, etc.), i.e. select the appropriate profile.

Organizer. The calendar itself is traditionally organized, there is a monthly view, you can switch to weekly view with an hourly grid display or to a daily schedule. Separate menu items allow you to view all events of a certain type, for example, appointments, notes, reminders. In total, up to 1000 events can be stored in the organizer's memory.

Events can be recurring or one-time, there is a setting to display all fields when entering an event or only individual ones. A voice note can also act as a reminder.

There is a separate list of tasks, here you can assign not only a day, but also a warning. It is possible to evaluate the task on a 5-point scale.

Sticky notes are the perfect way to enter a small text message. The note can be public or confidential, in the second case, in order to read it, you will have to enter the phone code.

From the organizer menu, you can see the world time in major cities, a handy feature. There is also a voice recorder, the duration and number of recordings is limited only by the free space in the phone's memory. By default, this is about 140 minutes of time. Unfortunately, this function did not work during a call, in our case the phone started to reboot, we had to turn it off and on again.

Extras. This menu contains an alarm clock that can be set for certain days of the week. There is only one alarm clock.

Recording sounds is an analogue of a voice recorder, only from here you can set the recording in the form of a ringtone.

Calculator - in addition to the usual functions, it became possible to memorize intermediate measurement results (memory function), the calculator is convenient.

Converter of various units of measurement, everything is simple and functional.

Stopwatch allows you to create up to two control points, then save them to a file. The phone also has a countdown timer.

File System. A utility for viewing the contents of the flash memory reserved for user data. You can create your own folders, move the contents of existing folders, change the display (list or icons with graphics preview). The phone can be easily used as a data carrier, it is enough to transfer any file (any format) to it.

fun&surf. The wap-browser version 2.0 is located here, the browser settings are slightly higher than the standard ones, it is easy to add new bookmarks.

Games. A new version of Stack Attack Advanced is pre-installed in the phone, the game has become three-dimensional, along with the complication of the game, all the attractiveness of the previous version has been lost, it is not so interesting to play.

Bubble Boost is an arcade game that is quite good in execution.

PhotoPet is another electronic Tamagotchi.

Wappo Junior is a logic toy that is not very interesting.

Applications. It is worth noting only Photo Editor, this is a utility for editing your files. The possibilities are extremely scarce - add a frame, an icon, rotate the image and that's it. You can call editing a file from any list, but then you will have to select the file from the list again. In general, this shows that the program is not integrated with the phone and the interface.

Camera. The phone has a CIF-camera, the manufacturer decided to move away from the standard indication of the image resolution, only the names are visible here - Premium (352x288), medium, Wallpaper. It is curious that the word Premium in older models denotes VGA resolution, while CIF is High. Apparently the developers themselves got confused in the names.

Among other settings, it is worth noting the ability to choose a default name for files, in particular, they may contain the current date and time (these are templates). White balance can be automatic or manual (street, home).

The screen of the phone acts as a viewfinder, the picture is practically not smeared when moving sharply. On the screen, the received pictures look great, the device is quite good in this parameter. There is a timer for taking pictures of yourself. With one touch, you can adjust the brightness, use the digital zoom (x3). The zoom function is digital, so you should not use it, the quality leaves much to be desired, however, this can be seen in this picture. The resulting pictures can be used in the phone as you like, and they can also be sent to other devices using the infrared port.

In terms of image quality, this model is by no means a champion, but such photos are quite suitable for use in the device itself.

Phone performance. The device supports Java MIDP 2.0, so we have measured the performance accordingly. Before presenting the results, it is worth noting the chronic problem of all phones from Siemens, applications are loaded into memory for a long time. There are some improvements compared to previous models, but the download speed is still quite slow. For example, the image editor takes about 30 seconds to load, games are a little faster. Phones from Siemens have the lowest performance in their class (only Motorola C650 loses to them).

Siemens C65

  • Total score - 98
  • Image Manipulation - 53
  • text-175
  • Sprites, game scene - 197
  • 3D Transformation - 62
  • user interface - 78

The results obtained are very close to the 65-series phones from Siemens, the differences are minimal. The most frustrating thing is the high loading time of applications, on the same Motorola C650 with a slower processor, loading is not so long.

Siemens C65 is a stylish mobile phone with rich multimedia capabilities. Thanks to the built-in digital camera, the phone allows you to save memorable moments and interesting events. With Siemens C65, you can comfortably surf the Internet, as well as download fresh ringtones, screen savers and pictures. A wide range of optional accessories allows you to use your phone more productively.

Siemens C65 - an old friend in a new shell

In the struggle to expand their presence in the voluminous and promising global mobile phone market, manufacturers are offering models with an increasing range of functions - the presence of a built-in camera, GPRS support and MMS services are becoming the de facto standard. The Siemens C65 phone was no exception to this rule. Even being the youngest (and therefore the cheapest) representative of the line presented by the company in March this year at the CeBIT exhibition, this three-standard (GSM 900/1800/1900) device with a color display has all the above options. The device will appear in Russian stores in July, but for now, a pre-sale sample of Siemens C65 has come to our editorial office.

Traditionally, Siemens pays a lot of attention to the middle class. Invariably presenting successful models of this level, the German company provides a high level of sales in the segment, although not as profitable as the fashion class, but, nevertheless, bringing a stable profit. Until recently, these were devices with significantly reduced functionality, even in comparison with models of the upper middle class (let's remember how the capabilities and equipment of the C55 and M55 models compare). However, the new time poses new challenges for developers and marketers.

Siemens C65 is a new model of "pure" middle class, which, like the previous representatives of the C series, should appear in stores at a starting price of just under $200. The device occupies an intermediate position between the upper middle class CX65 ($250) and budget devices such as the A60, C60 and C62 today. However, unlike previous C-class phones, the C65 is less feature-limited than the CX65 and older models. The software part has undergone only a slight simplification, the most noticeable difference of the C65 is only a smaller and lower quality screen. Thus, Siemens offers customers a device with almost complete business functionality at a low price.

Design and construction

Siemens C65 is a monoblock phone, the dimensions of which may well be considered average by modern standards, perhaps it is minimally larger. The C65 is larger and heavier than its predecessor, the C55, but smaller than the budget 60 series models.

The design of the C65 is made in a youth key and solved very high quality. The phone is both similar to its predecessor, and has a noticeable difference from the annoying "oval" style of previous budget Siemens, because of which they received the nickname "remnants". The shapes of the C65 are quite dynamic, supported by the sharp corners of the control keys and speaker slots. The glossy surface of the blue front panel and the middle row of keys adds sophistication, the outer blue edging, made with paint interspersed with fine metallic powder, serves as a successful transition from gloss to matte surface of the side faces.

The front panel of the C65 case is removable and includes blue and silver parts visible in the photo. The main hooks of the removable panel are located in its upper part, the fixing ones are in the lower part (so that when removing it, you must first separate the lower edge). In addition, approximately in the middle of the height there are brackets for which special protrusions on the battery compartment cover are hooked, which improves the reliability of fastening. The keyboard block is also removed, this part is made in the same style as the replacement case and, apparently, will be included in the kit of this accessory. But the joystick is non-removable, it is rigidly attached to the base unit. The gray part of the body visible in the photo, including the side edges and the upper part of the rear surface, is also permanently attached to the phone's chassis and cannot be replaced.

As usual with Siemens, the plastic is rather soft, so that light creaks can be heard at the joints of the panels when the phone is squeezed in the hands. However, the assembly is thorough, there are no backlashes in the main parts of the case, the joints are thin and neat. The quality of the paintwork is good.

The reduced screen dimensions compared to the CX65 have radically changed the layout of the entire body. If in CX65 the entire keyboard was "clamped" in the lower part of the case, then in C65 it became possible to give the keys optimal sizes. As a result, they turned out to be quite large and became much more convenient to use. The keyboard still consists of a standard numeric keypad, a five-position joystick, a pair of soft keys, call and hang up buttons, and an additional key that serves to quickly call up a list of address book entries. Large (compared to most of the latest compact phones - even huge) number buttons are very difficult to miss, the grooves separating them are deep enough to allow blind operation, although the fact that the buttons are located close to each other still introduces some complications. The control keys are smaller, but thanks to the protruding ribs, they are well distinguished. The joystick features very well-chosen deflection and pressure forces, so that you can control the phone comfortably and confidently. All keys have a soft stroke and a clear threshold. Due to the fairly thick rubber base of the keyboard pad, the contact pins fit snugly against the phone's chassis, and the keyboard itself is fixed in its socket, so there are no backlashes, knocks or other unpleasant phenomena in this unit.

Traditionally for younger Siemens, there are no additional controls in the C65. On the smooth case, you can see only the IrDA window on the left side and the camera lens on the back side. The lens has no special protection, but it is recessed into the body very deeply, so it is difficult to accidentally damage it.

The Siemens C65 screen is made using STN technology, displays 65,536 colors and has a resolution of 130×130 pixels. Our impressions of the screen are mixed. On the one hand, it provides the correct color reproduction and a completely smooth image, on the other hand, it has rather modest indicators of brightness and contrast, which, however, are typical for most STN screens. The C65 display has rather narrow viewing angles - even at a deviation of about 45 ° from the normal, the image is inverted. Without backlight, the screen is not readable at all. In the sun, as expected, it fades a lot, but its substrate has some reflective properties, so you can find the angle at which the picture will be illuminated by incident light. True, this effect is much weaker than that of transreflective TFT screens.

The C65 is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, which is mounted in the traditional Siemens way - using a protrusion on the left side, which is included in the corresponding niche in the wall of the battery case. However, here the brackets of the removable front panel of the case additionally serve as holders that fix the battery on the right and left. So it is installed and held absolutely securely, without backlash. The SIM card slot with a wide fixed pressure plate is also simple and trouble-free. Like the other representatives of the 65 series, the battery compartment does not have an internal coating, the parts on the motherboard are closed with separate perforated casings, which gives the battery socket a somewhat sloppy look. The battery cover has a sliding mount, in our copy it had some backlash.

Menus and functions

The software stuffing, in particular, the set of functions and the control system, is taken almost unchanged from the older models of the 65 series.

In particular, the appearance and structure of the menu, the configuration of the C65 and CX65 control keys correspond completely. So we will consider the functionality of C65 in an abbreviated format.

Siemens C65 is equipped with the same extended address book like older models. It contains 22 information and service fields per subscriber, allows you to store a separate first and last name, set nicknames for instant messaging services, birthday (with automatic entry of a reminder), set a photo displayed on an incoming call, and much more. The address book is fully compatible with MS Outlook and allows you to directly synchronize contacts with your PC. When viewing the list of contacts for the selected entry, the main telephone number, belonging to a group, as well as icons of the completed information fields are indicated. There is no voice dialing in this model. Total entries in the built-in memory can be a maximum of 1000, or its size cannot exceed 5230 KB. Entries from the phone's memory and the SIM card can be displayed and called up by the "joystick down" command and from the phone's main menu only separately.

Menu call records contains standard means of registering calls of all types, their duration and cost.

Typical menu for Siemens Surf&Fun combines a WAP browser and access to games and applications. The WAP browser supports the WAP 2.0 and HTTP protocols. All games preinstalled in the phone are written in Java. In our case, it was a new version of the Stack Attack logic arcade game installed in almost all Siemens phones - this time in 3D, as well as the logic game Wappo Junior and the platform arcade game Bubble Boost. All games are quite interesting and entertaining. If desired, you can delete midlets and add new ones - a convenient wizard is provided for this DownloadAssistant. Cataloging downloaded software is very simple: game MIDlets are installed in the Games folder, working ones - in Applications .

Menu camera gives access to the photography menu. The C65 has a CMOS camera with a resolution of 352×288 pixels - this resolution is in line with the standards of the previous generation of camera phones, and is perhaps the lowest among new models. Also, unlike the CX65, the camera does not allow you to shoot video. In shooting mode, the viewfinder window is displayed on the screen, to capture a frame or start recording, you need to press the joystick. The horizontal deflection of the joystick can be used to adjust the exposure, while the vertical deflection controls the digital zoom, which in this model provides an increase of up to 3x. There are few shooting options in the phone: you can only control the frame size (3 gradations, without specifying the resolution), the white balance selection mode (automatic, indoors, outdoors), and also use timer shooting. The quality of the resulting photos turned out to be relatively good, at least when shooting in a room, the most unpleasant artifacts of CMOS cameras - blurring and color noise from lens movement during exposure - appear to a small extent.

Paragraph messages contains everything for working with messages. C65 supports SMS and MMS, e-mail client is not provided in this model. This is another difference between the C65 and the CX65, however, email support is very rarely implemented in models with an initial cost of up to $200.

On the menu Organizer there is a calendar with reminders and related utilities - lists of meetings and reminders, a notepad for short notes, a world time clock, a voice recorder, and separately - a list of missed reminders. The calendar has three types of display - monthly, weekly and daily. When programming a reminder, you can select the category of the event (simple reminder, call, meeting, dictaphone reminder, birthday, holiday). Memory for organizer entries is allocated dynamically, but you can enter no more than 1000 events. If desired, you can view a list of all events using a special applet in the same menu. The recorder allows you to record fragments of arbitrary duration, limited only by the amount of free memory; it does not work during a conversation.

On the menu Extras contains additional utilities. As usual with Siemens, there is an alarm clock here, as well as a calculator, a unit converter, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, data synchronization control via SyncML, access to a file browser, and another "entrance" to the voice recorder.

Menu My Stuff- This is the usual file manager for Siemens.

Finally, point Setup gives access to all kinds of phone settings. Again, as usual in Siemens, the settings of absolutely everything are collected here - profiles, ringtones, WAP, GPRS, network functions, security, etc., except, perhaps, only the messaging services settings. However, the structure and designations of the menu items are quite logical and understandable, so there are no particular difficulties, except that the redirection function is not sufficiently accessible for beginners and, in general, is not implemented very conveniently for frequent use.

Impressions and conclusions

Siemens C65 provides good communication quality, at least within the city there are no problems with it. The power reserve of the speaker is quite sufficient for a conversation on a noisy street.

From a full charge of batteries, the phone works a little more than 3 days with 10 minutes of calls per day. This is a fairly modest figure, but such a battery life no longer causes discomfort due to the need for too frequent charging.

The volume of the polyphonic ringer varies from slightly below average to slightly above average, depending on the type of audio being played. Randomly selected MIDIs are played quieter, preset melodies, as well as WAV signals recorded using the built-in voice recorder, are played louder. The vibrating alert in the phone is weak - it is characterized by a small amplitude and a rather high vibration frequency. Vibration is felt on the side faces of the phone, but almost imperceptible on the back wall. So it is very difficult to feel the vibrating alert if the phone is in the hip pocket of jeans - this is a very unusual phenomenon, since almost any vibrating alert is felt in this pocket.

Testing allowed us to understand the "recipe" that Siemens chose to "cook" a new generation of budget camera phones. Considering that one of the key features of a modern phone is the quality and functionality of the camera, the developers chose the path of preferentially restricting this particular node, leaving the business functions practically unchanged. Only the most "business" features suffered, in particular, e-mail support. But the address book, organizer and even the infrared port remained untouched. From our point of view, the general level of quality of built-in cameras in phones does not yet allow using them as a full-fledged replacement for simple digital cameras, so the characteristics of this node have little effect on choosing a phone. So the measures to limit the functionality of the C65 are not very effective, and have little effect on the attractiveness of the device.

In general, we liked the Siemens C65. For a price typical for the “middle-middle” class, which, as Siemens usually does, will decline quite quickly, the buyer will receive an almost full-fledged business phone, though in a youth design, but not very extreme, which makes it acceptable to a wide range of users. . The buyers of this model are at first technocratic-minded, but not very rich young people, usually adherents of the Siemens brand, who are looking for maximum functionality for the minimum price, taking into account the model's modernity factor, and subsequently - mass consumers who will be attracted by a relatively inexpensive but well-equipped camera phone from the brand, renowned for the convenience and reliability of its products.

The main and direct competitor of C65 is Motorola C650, even the names of these models happened to be similar. Siemens offers more convenient menu organization, excellent address book and organizer, very easy and free work with data. On the other hand, the C650 has a full-fledged VGA camera, better work with Java (again, let's recall the possibility of pausing and resuming the work of the MIDlet). The ability to connect the C650 to a PC via any Mini-USB cable is leveled by the fact that Motorola distributes the software necessary for this only for money, while Siemens sells the software along with a data cable, and the use of IrDA allows you to transmit and receive data on the C65 without any additional ON. The rest of the models are comparable. As a result, the C65 and C650 are approximately equivalent in terms of the totality of characteristics, so the choice between them will be made based on preference for the brand - “Siemensoids” and “motorists” will each choose their own. These models will be indirectly competed with Korean camera phones - LG G5600 and Samsung SGH-X600. These phones have advantages and disadvantages specific to the Korean school, but are somewhat more expensive, so there is not much point in comparing them directly with the C65 and C650.
