Today, in fact, as it was before, it was not at all difficult to make a pencil case pattern with your own hands. Moreover, by spending literally a few minutes of your time, you can make a pencil case for a girl that resembles the shape of a bow. In this case, you will not need to sew anything at all.

First you need to prepare a rectangular fabric and fold it in half. The side edges must be trimmed evenly. The top should be cut off. At the same time, you need to try, because this particular side must be very neat.

Next, you need not to sew the pencil case with your own hands, but to assemble it, so to speak would be more correct. The side parts need to be glued together using hot or superglue. The first option would be the most appropriate here.

The fabric strip should be placed directly in the center of your pencil case. At the same time, leave enough fabric margin on all sides so that you can tie a bow as a result.

The strip should be glued to the bottom of the product. After that, put pens, rulers, pencils, etc. inside the pencil case. Next, you should turn the pencil case over and tie a knot. After this, tie a bow. It may be large, or it may not be very large. Do it to your taste. That's all, now you know how to make a pencil case out of fabric with your own hands.

How to make a pencil case with your own hands using a plastic bottle

We also suggest considering the option of a pencil case for a school-age child, using the most ordinary plastic bottle.

Of course, the option of a fabric pencil case is very interesting. But, by and large, it is suitable exclusively for girls. But you can also make such items, with your own hands, for boys, or universal options!

Oh, what beautiful ways you can come up with! In this matter, no one tells anyone, there are only recommendations, and if it comes to your mind to supplement the product with something else, you can experiment. Surely, you can make a very original version of a pencil case, and many children will envy your student! After all, you can’t buy such products anywhere!

To make a pencil case you need to prepare:

  • Plastic bottles, two pieces. They should not be thin; it is best that the plastic is dense.
  • Take one, beautifully colored wide zipper. It can be made of plastic or metal, whichever you like best.
  • Superglue, but the best option is hot glue.
  • Scissors.

To make a pencil case from a plastic bottle with your own hands, you will need its lower part, from both bottles. The principle is this: both parts should be connected to each other using one zipper.

On each bottle, to begin with, you should cut off the top. First, decide how long your pencil case will be. This will affect how long you will need to cut the pieces.

For example, to store pens, felt-tip pens, pencils, you will need to make one long part and one short one. The first one will serve to insert the accessory into it. The second one is used as a cover.

Then take the zipper. You should check that the correct length of the zipper is selected. This is easy to do by simply wrapping your bottle in bulk with a zipper. If the prepared zipper is too long, it needs to be shortened by cutting it on the opposite side of the one in which it ends.

Approximately, the total length of the zipper should be one and a half centimeters larger than the circumference of your bottle.

When you start gluing the zipper, the dog should be on the outside, the ends of its zipper are glued directly to the plastic parts from the inside. Each half should be glued in turn; to do this, the zipper must be completely unzipped.

During the gluing process, make sure that the dog moves freely along the zipper. This means that you need to leave at least a little space for it. Be careful. Do not stain your pencil case with glue during the manufacturing process!

A pencil case is not just a school attribute, but a useful thing that will help organize your work space. You can put pens, pencils, markers, erasers, rulers, sharpeners and other office supplies in it. So that you or your child can have an exclusive pencil case, you can sew it yourself.

You will need:

  • Canvas, size 18x7 cm;
  • 3 multi-colored cuts of the same fabric, different sizes - 18x4.5 cm; 17x5 cm and 17x6 cm;
  • Fabric for lining, size 17x18.5 cm;
  • Batting, size 17x18.5 cm;

  3. Divide the fabric into a lining and an outer part, fold each so that the free edge touches the other, unstitched edge of the zipper. Fasten with pins, then machine sew in 3 layers. As a result, you should get a sharp cylinder with a zipper.
  4. Open the zipper and turn the pencil case with the lining facing out. Place it so that there is the same amount of fabric to the left and right of the zipper. Pin the open ends of the cylinder together. Be sure to sew the zipper tape with an overlocker or zigzag stitch on a sewing machine. Trim off any excess zipper.

Pencil case for pens and pencils made of zippers (photo instructions)

A pencil case is a useful thing if you need to organize your work space. Pens, pencils, markers, erasers and other necessary items are not scattered on the table and are not lost in the bag.

And school pencil cases are just as necessary for children as notebooks or a diary.

But those sold in stores are often too bulky, with ugly, monotonous designs (pencil cases for girls are with pink fairies, for boys - gloomy dark blue cars, and there are almost no alternatives!), and some of them are sometimes dangerous - Poorly made plastic edges or the protruding tip of the fishing line can cause scratches.

Trying to buy something so necessary for school turns into torture. But you can sew one yourself with the help of the videos presented in this article - it will take very little time, the soft fabric will never cause scratches, and the choice of its color depends only on you.

How to make an original pencil case with your own hands? In this step-by-step photo tutorial, you'll see that it only takes five steps.

You will need:

- piece of canvas (18 x 7 cm);

- three multi-colored cuts of the same fabric - you can take any, for example, linen:

  • the first of them is 18 x 4.8 cm;
  • second - 17 x 5 cm;
  • third - 17 x 5.8 cm;

- fabric for the lining - 17 x 18.5 cm (if the lining is not always visible, this still does not mean that it should be boring and monochromatic, a good thing is beautiful from all sides);

- batting cut 17 x 18.5 cm;

- zipper at least 17 cm long;

- measuring tape;

- safety pins;

- sewing machine.

The finished pencil case, as in the photo, according to these instructions should be 9 x 17 cm in size. Please read all the instructions carefully before you start cutting. Even a children's pencil case cannot be sewn with your own hands without careful measurements.

Making a children's pencil case for school with your own hands: step-by-step description

So, let’s start sewing our own school pencil case for pens, pencils and other stationery.

1. First we create the external part - this is the most creative moment. Place colored pieces of fabric and canvas next to each other - this is what your pencil case will look like from the outside (see photo). Then sew all the pieces lengthwise with an open seam.

2. Place a piece of fabric next to it intended for lining. The size of the sewn fabric on the “outer” side must exactly match the lining. Align them and pin them together, then sew along one side.

3. Turn the sewn fabric wrong side up and attach the zipper so that the zipper is on the right, and the zipper itself is completely hidden by the fabric (see photo). The stripes on the fabric should be perpendicular to the zipper. Fasten with pins, and then sew on a machine through all three resulting layers (fabric, lining, zipper - along its “right” side, when viewed from the side of the zipper).

4. “Separate” the fabric into a lining and an outer part. Fold each of them so that the free edge touches the other, unstitched edge of the zipper - respectively, on both sides. Pin together and then machine sew (all three layers again). You should end up with an open cylinder of fabric with a zipper.

5. Open the zipper and turn your pencil case with the lining facing out. Place it so that there is an equal amount of fabric to the right and left of the zipper, and pin the open ends of this “cylinder” with pins. Using an overlocker or zigzag on a machine, be sure to also stitch the zipper tape.

Cut off the excess part of the zipper, if there is any (the end without the lock; it is on this side, if you did everything correctly, that there should be an extra piece of tape left - if, of course, it was originally longer than 17 cm).

Since the pencil case is made of fabric without any frame, it is flat and takes up exactly as much space as the things in it take up. But it can also be quite roomy. Ideal item for a school backpack!
