In connection with the terrible events that are taking place in the world, most people have increasingly begun to wonder: "Will there be a Third World War?" Famous prophets and soothsayers have long had their answers to this question. Unfortunately, in most cases, their dire predictions are in favor of war. And the reality of the outbreak of a third world war in the coming years no longer seems so ephemeral.

world war 3 prophecy

1: Michel Nostradamus

All predictions of the medieval seer are very vague, however, modern interpreters believe that he predicted the Third World War in the following prophecy:

“Blood, human bodies, reddened water, hail falls on the ground ... I feel the approach of a great hunger, it will often leave, but then it will become worldwide”

According to Nostradamus, this war will come from the territory of modern Iraq and will last 27 years.

2: Vanga

The Bulgarian clairvoyant never spoke directly about the Third World War, but she has a prophecy about the most serious consequences of military operations in Syria. This prediction was made in 1978, when nothing foreshadowed the horrors that are now happening in this Arab country.

“Mankind is destined for many more cataclysms and turbulent events… Hard times are coming, people will be divided by their faith… The most ancient teaching will come into the world… I am asked when this will happen, soon? No, not soon. Syria hasn't fallen yet...

The interpreters of Vanga's predictions believe that in this prophecy we are talking about the coming war between East and West, which will arise on the basis of religious contradictions. After the fall of Syria, a bloody war will unfold in Europe.

3: Jonah of Odessa

Archpriest of the Lugansk diocese Maxim Volynets told about the prediction of Jonah of Odessa. When asked if there would be a Third World War, the elder replied:

"Will. A year after my death, everything will begin. In one country smaller than Russia, there will be very serious sentiments. It will last two years and end with a big war. And then there will be a Russian Tsar"

The elder died in December 2012.

4: Grigory Rasputin

Rasputin has a prophecy about three snakes. The interpreters of his predictions believe that we are talking about three world wars.

“Three hungry snakes will crawl along the roads of Europe, leaving ashes and smoke behind them, they have one house - and this is a sword, and they have one law - violence, but, having dragged humanity through dust and blood, they themselves will die from the sword.”

5: Sarah Hoffman

Sarah Hoffman is a famous American soothsayer who predicted the events of 9/11 in New York. She also prophesied catastrophic natural disasters, terrible epidemics and nuclear wars.

“I looked at the Middle East and saw how the rocket flew out of Libya and hit Israel, there was a big mushroom cloud. I knew that the rocket was actually from Iran, but the Iranians were hiding it in Libya. I knew it was a nuclear bomb. Almost immediately, rockets began to fly from one country to another, it quickly spread around the world. I also saw that many of the explosions were not from rockets, but from ground bombs."

Sarah also claimed that Russia and China would attack the United States:

“I saw Russian troops that invaded the United States of America. I've seen them... mostly on East coast… I also saw Chinese troops invade the West Coast… It was a nuclear war. I knew it was happening all over the world. I did not see most of this war, but it was not very long ... "

Hoffman said that the Russians and Chinese would probably lose this war.

6: Seraphim Vyritsky

The seer and elder Seraphim Vyritsky undoubtedly possessed the gift of foresight. Back in 1927, he predicted World War II. According to eyewitnesses, already in the post-war period, one of the singers turned to him with the words:

“Dear father! How good it is now - the war is over, the bells rang in all the churches!

To this the old man replied:

“No, that's not all. There will be more fear than before. You will meet her again…”

According to the elder, troubles should be expected from China, which, with the support of the West, will seize Russia.

7: Schema-Archimandrite Christopher

Schema-Archimandrite Christopher, the Tula elder, believed that the Third World War would be very terrible and destructive, Russia would be drawn into it entirely, and China would be the initiator:

“There will be a Third World War for extermination, there will be very few people left on earth. Russia will become the center of a war, a very fast, missile war, after which everything will be poisoned several meters into the ground. And it will be very difficult for those who remain alive, because the earth will no longer be able to give birth ... As China goes, this is how everything will begin ”

8: Elena Aiello

Elena Aiello (1895 - 1961) - Italian nun, to whom the Mother of God herself allegedly appeared. In his predictions, Aiello assigns the role of the world invader to Russia. According to her, Russia with its secret weapon will fight America and conquer Europe. In another prophecy, the nun said that Russia would be almost completely burned.

9: Veronica Luken

American Veronica Luken (1923 - 1995) is the most beautiful soothsayer of all time, but this does not make her predictions less terrible ... Veronica claimed that for 25 years Jesus and the Virgin appeared to her and told about the fate of mankind.

“The Mother of God points to the map ... Oh, my God! ... I see Jerusalem and Egypt, Arabia, French Morocco, Africa ... My God! These countries are very dark. The Mother of God says: "The beginning of the Third World War, my child"
“The war will intensify, the massacre will become more and more intense. The living will envy the dead, so great will be the suffering of mankind."

“Syria has the key to peace, or to World War III. Three quarters of the world will be destroyed…”

1981 prediction

“I see Egypt, I see Asia. I see a lot of people, they are all marching. They look like Chinese. Ah, they are preparing for war. They get on the tanks... All these tanks are coming, a whole army of people, there are many of them. So many! Many of them look like small children…”

“I see Russia. They (Russians) are sitting at a big table… I think they are going to fight… I think they are going to go to war against Egypt and Africa. And then the Mother of God said: “The gathering is in Palestine. Gathering in Palestine»

10: Joanna Southcott

The mysterious clairvoyant from England, who predicted the French Revolution, prophesied in 1815:

“When war breaks out in the east, know that the end is near!”

11: Gene Dixon

The prophecies of Jean Dixon, a famous fortune teller from America, who said that in the next century there will be global catastrophes on our planet, after which the Third World War will begin:

“A strong earthquake in the East will serve as a sign for the attack of the Arabs on Israel. This fight will continue for 8 years.”

12: Juna

Finally, a little optimism from Juna. When asked about the Third World War, the famous healer replied:

“My intuition never fails me… There will be no third world war. Categorically!"

Mankind is on the verge of the Third World War. The doomsday clock shows two minutes to midnight. Never before in history have people been so close to using weapons of mass destruction.

North Korea successfully launches a rocket once again. Russian President Vladimir Putin talks about a new weapon capable of turning the world into radioactive ash. And on the website of the channel "Russia 24" there is an article about what to take with you to the bomb shelter. Coincidence? We don't think! If not today, then tomorrow the butterfly will flap its wings, and the world will plunge into the chaos of the Third World War.

What do intellectuals think about the prospects for World War III? Will she happen? What will lead to it? What fate awaits Belarus?

Writer Viktor Martinovich: There will be no place for Belarus in the new world

I am disturbed by the concentration of hatred that is in the air. I just don't understand this global rage and hatred.

The world is successfully sliding into the Third World War. Having Donald Trump as president of the United States and Vladimir Putin as president of Russia is just the perfect situation that leads to war. It doesn’t matter where the “bombs” are: in Syria, North Korea or somewhere else. Given the accumulation of armaments that is now happening on both sides, sooner or later this will happen.

I just returned from Istanbul. The city, which has always been a relaxed secular, cultural capital, is now blocked by patrols, police vans with water cannons are stationed every 500 meters. And this is a completely new situation for Istanbul, which I do not remember.

When the “rubilovo” begins, to which the matter is going, then the regions, continents, land will be divided into pieces. What is Belarus like here? As a result of each world war there was a redivision of the world. And that's what I fear the most. I am afraid that there will be no place left for Belarus in this new world. But this, unfortunately, will be the smallest problem that will bother me and you at that moment.

Political scientist Yevgeny Preigerman: Nuclear weapons deter the world from the Third World War

I do not have the feeling that we are on the verge of the Third World War. But there is a feeling that the world is going a little crazy. This is a typical phenomenon for conflicts that are just beginning. For the last twenty years we have had a stable system of international relations, and now we see that those rules and systemic things that gave us a sense of stability and predictability no longer work.

The factor of nuclear weapons is the guaranteed murder of all mankind. This is what kept the world during the Cold War from turning it into a "hot" one.

Man has a habit of unlearning certain things. Previously, the memory of the World War gave us a reason to say: "Never again", and historical processes fundamentally changed because of this. But time passes, and some things begin to be forgotten.

I would like to hope that the evolution of mankind also affects some of our humanistic ideas. And, at least, the feeling of points or lines through which it is impossible to pass is formed.

Philosopher Maxim Goryunov: Russians do not exclude war, they take it into account. Russian culture is ready for war

We all live in the illusion that "it won't happen again." The report by Steven Pinker, in the books of Douglas North and other sociologists, it is said that the level of violence in the world is declining. And we believe in it. We believe that global war is something of the past. This is a beautiful, kind and pleasant illusion that we are interested in believing in. But man is an aggressive being. I think war can happen.

It seems to me that Russian culture is absolutely military. The rallies in Volokolamsk are very indicative in this sense. Speeches at these meetings of ordinary people, tribunes, that of the people. The metaphors they used were entirely based on war movies. They have no other metaphors in their heads. These people were in a critical, stressful situation; this could be the first or second rally in their entire lives. They are worried. And when a person is worried, he speaks the language of "basic education", a vision of the world. And in this situation, most of them used the metaphor of war. They came to the rally, and they regarded it as a war.

The metaphor of war is part of the modern Russian worldview. Outside of St. Petersburg and Moscow, Soviet and imperial inertia concerning the war is still at work. In all of Russia, except for these two cities, they are ready for war. This manifests itself at the level of life planning. People do not exclude war, they take it into account, they are ready for it. War would be to the hearts of the Russian people. Russian culture is ready for war.

Belarusians, as far as I understand them, have a different perception of the war. First of all, it is a punitive action for them. First Soviet, then Nazi, then Soviet again. The Belarusian idea of war is not so much about the front line and battles, but about how to escape from the punishers, how to hide from them so that you don’t get hooked, some kind of unobtrusive collaboration is possible, just to save your family. Unlike Russia, where people talk about the war as a victory, for Belarus, war is grief. It's like a plague, cruel and terrible. And what to do when the "black death" comes? Need to be saved.

Science fiction writer Alexei Shein: We are not New Zealand or Switzerland, we are at the break of two civilizations

I see two main lines along which the world can split. This is a line of political confrontation and new technologies. And in terms of politics, I think there are three clear points: the issue of the Middle East, around Israel and the countries around it; the situation around North Korea; the situation around Russia and its closest neighbors, Russia's desire to return parts of the former Soviet Union or Russian Empire. As for technology, the issue of artificial intelligence is very ambiguous. We don't know what its development might lead to. I agree with those futurists and researchers who say that this technology can be dangerous.

Only disturbing thoughts come about the fate of Belarus. Our geographical and political position more than once led to the fact that we found ourselves at the epicenter of military events, as it was in the 20th century. Unfortunately, we are not New Zealand or Switzerland. It so happened that we are at the break of two civilizations. You know, when two tectonic plates converge, that's where the greatest danger for earthquakes and casualties is. Here we are at such a junction, only civilizational plates.

Philosopher and writer Valentin Akudovich: There will be no Third World War

Let at least someone tell you that there will be no third World War. But she will be scared for many more years. This is a favorite pastime of political scientists and journalists. After all, it is necessary to tickle the nerves of listeners and readers with something. This will continue for a very long time until it ceases to be relevant.

Why is it no longer relevant? Because the world will change, a person will cease to be what he is now. Of course, this is a very long process. In previous eras, man was metaphysical - he was turned to God, under the patronage of God. And now the metaphysical man is being replaced by the technological one. Technologies shape it, give it forms and ways of being and life. This will grow rapidly. In this case, unless there will be a "world war of robots." But, I don’t think that robots will have nothing to do, except to arrange a world war.

In early September, many world media intensively reprinted each other's news about the birth of a red calf in Israel. Quote from The Sun (translated by Gazeta.ru):

A red calf was born in Israel, which is mentioned in an episode of the holy scripture of Judaism - the Torah, the Jerusalem Institute of the Temple reported. For adherents of Judaism, the red cow is central to the prediction of the "end of time." The material notes that the staff of the Institute of the Temple in Jerusalem has already carried out a "thorough examination" of the calf.

The material notes that a program was launched at the institute a few years ago, the purpose of which was to raise a red cow in Israel. According to this program, it was assumed that frozen embryos of red Angus cattle would be used for this purpose. After that, local cows are fertilized with these embryos, the material says. For example, Orthodox Jews and Christians believe that after the birth of the red calf, they will be able to rebuild the third temple in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount.

According to believers, the birth of a red cow is consistent with the prophecy and means the approach of the Apocalypse.

Thus, The Sun and other media see in this event the prejudices of believers, but more enlightened people see something else in this.

The exceptional importance of the event lies in the fact that the sacrificial ashes of the red cow are the only missing ingredient for the restoration of the Third Temple. And now, if the rabbis do not reject the calf, it turns out that there is a sacrificial animal.

When consecrating the Third Temple, the sacrificed animal must reach the age of three years (but not more than 3 years and 364 days), so the approximate period for the restoration of the Third Temple is 28/8/2018 + 3 years = 28/08/2021 - 28/08/ 2022.

In other words, over the next three years, according to the prophecies, the Third World War should begin and end, as a result of which a new monetary system will be introduced and the world will be completely reformatted. That is, the events of the Apocalypse prescribed by Revelation must be realized. And the End Times Forecaster blog will even figure out the start date for these events.

It is very easy to do this, because before the restoration of the Third Temple, the so-called Seventy Weeks of Daniel, the time of the Great Tribulation, must pass. Therefore, we subtract 70 weeks from the time period 08/28/2021 - 08/28/2022. As a result, we get the time period 02/28/2018 - 02/28/2019.

It is at this time that the Third World War should begin, the deadline for the start of which is February 28, 2019, although most likely everything can happen much earlier. We follow developments

Could a third world war break out in 2018?

If so, here are five risk areas where this could happen, as identified by Aftonbladet.

“There is an increased risk,” says Isak Svensson, professor of peace and conflict studies at Uppsala University.

Republican Senator Bob Corker has warned that Donald Trump could lead the US down "the road to a third world war."
There is a risk that he is not completely mistaken.

According to Isak Svensson, professor of peace and conflict studies, there are three factors that hinder war more than others.

All of them are now collapsing, largely because of Trump and rising nationalism.

1. International organizations

“One of the goals of the UN, the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe), the EU and similar organizations is to reduce the risk of armed conflict. But because Trump is constantly trying to dismantle international cooperation, these organizations may weaken. This will affect the risk of war,” says Isak Svensson.

2. International trade

During his election campaign Trump accused China of "raping" the American economy. Therefore, many experts expected that he would impose customs duties on Chinese goods, which would result in a full-fledged trade war.

“So far it hasn’t happened, but at least he signaled that he is not particularly interested in encouraging free trade,” said Isak Svensson.

3. Democracy

The two democracies have never been at war with each other. But the wave of nationalism that has swept the world can rock democracies.

“Populist nationalism has targeted democratic institutions: universities, courts, media, electoral bodies, and so on. This is noticeable in the United States under Trump, in Hungary, Poland and Russia, for example, ”says Isak Svensson.

Threat from nationalism

Svensson sees how nationalism threatens all three factors preventing war.

India has a policy of not being the first to use nuclear weapons. Instead, an attempt was made to increase the ability to respond to provocations by rapidly sending armored columns deep into Pakistani territory.

Five main fleets in the Indian and Pacific Oceans

The Diplomat 01/24/2013 Militarily weaker Pakistan responded by introducing Nasr short-range missiles that can be equipped with nuclear warheads.

Many experts fear that a development where Pakistan feels compelled to use tactical nuclear weapons to defend itself could quickly turn a small conflict into a full-blown nuclear war.

Niklas Svanström, however, believes that the likelihood of a world war is low.

“Other countries do not have interests related to security policy there. Pakistan has close relations with China, while India has close relations with Russia. But neither Russia nor China will take risks and start a large-scale military confrontation. It is also hard for me to imagine that the US would interfere in such a conflict.”

India - China

Indian Army General Bipin Rawat said in early September that the country should prepare for a two-front war against Pakistan and China.

Shortly before this, a ten-week confrontation between China and India over the definition of the border ended in the Himalayas. Chinese road builders escorted by the military were stopped by Indian troops. The Chinese claimed to be in China, the Indians claimed to be in Bhutan, an ally of India.

According to Bipin Rawat, such a situation could easily escalate into a conflict, and Pakistan could then use this situation to its advantage.

“We must be prepared. In the context of our situation, war is very real,” Rawat said, according to the Press Trust of India.

The border between China and India has long been a point of contention, but the atmosphere is now quite relaxed. But while China and Pakistan have moved closer economically, aggressive nationalism suggests that this may be changing.

“It is difficult to see any hints as to why a conflict could break out there, but there is an increased risk of this. The economies of both countries are growing rapidly, and both countries are spurred on by rather aggressive nationalism. The unresolved territorial issue is, of course, a clear risk factor,” says Isak Svensson.

Niklas Svanström does not think that China will gain much from this conflict, and that India simply cannot win a war against China. Conflicts will continue, but on a limited scale.

“The only situation that can lead to a full-scale war is if India recognizes Tibet as an independent country and starts supporting the Tibetan military movement that is fighting against China. I regard this as something extremely unlikely,” says Niklas Svanström.

the Baltics

States: Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, NATO military alliance.

One of the biggest risks that could now lead to conflict is Russia's growing ambitions against Europe, says Niklas Granholm, head of research at the Total Defense Institute, FOI.

“Russia has abandoned the set of rules that has been in place since the early 1990s and which defines European security measures,” says Niklas Granholm. - The main milestone in this matter was the war against Ukraine, when in 2014 there was an invasion of this country and the annexation of Crimea, which marked the beginning of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Russia has shown great faith in military means. The Baltic region has again found itself on the line of confrontation between East and West, which seemed to many quite improbable just a few years ago.”

The cause of the conflict may be ethnic Russian minorities in the Baltic countries, says Isak Svensson.

“In Ukraine, Russia has shown that it is ready to use military force in order, from its point of view, to protect Russian-speaking minorities. Thus, there is a hidden risk of Russian intervention in the Baltics if an internal crisis breaks out in any of the countries. Such a scenario is quite conceivable. It is rather unlikely today, but possible in the future.”

The materials of InoSMI contain only assessments of foreign media and do not reflect the position of the editors of InoSMI.

It brought with it a confrontation between the socialist and capitalist camps, which, according to historians, could lead to a global conflict with the use of weapons of mass destruction. The basis of US military doctrine in the 1950s is the so-called massive retaliation, which implies a retaliatory strike that is superior in destructive power to the first.

According to some, humanity stood closest to the beginning of the third world war during the Caribbean crisis of 1962. The confrontation was a consequence of the deployment of nuclear missiles by the USSR in Cuba as a response to similar US actions in Europe and Turkey near the Soviet borders. On October 25, 1962, John Kennedy ordered the US Strategic Air Command to be upgraded to DEFCON-2 (the first and only time in US history). On October 27, 1962, the military advisers to the US president suggested that he launch an invasion of Cuba, but Kennedy refused this option.

With the growth of the military potential of both sides, "massive retaliation" is being replaced by nuclear deterrence. The curtailment of armaments, which coincided with perestroika and the subsequent collapse of the USSR in 1985-1990, reduced the likelihood of the confrontation escalating into a general armed conflict.

Since the end of the 20th century, the concept has taken on a different meaning. Countering international terrorism is becoming a priority task for the armed forces of developed countries. The third world war is beginning to be called the fight against the largest terrorist organizations. Also known as World War III possible consequences potential use of WMD by countries that have not officially joined the nuclear club and are uncontrollably building up their military potential (Iran, Israel).

If you're interested in avoiding World War III, you should presumably be interested in preventing Iran from gaining the knowledge needed to build a nuclear weapon.

Original text (English)

If you"re interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing Iran from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.

Cold War as World War III

There is a concept according to which the Third World War has already taken place - in the form of the Cold War. The author of this concept is Subcomandante Marcos:

World War III, or Cold War, covers the period from 1946 (or, if you like, from the bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945) to -1990. It was a big world war, consisting of many local wars. And, like all the rest, it ended with the conquest of territories and the destruction of the enemy. The next step is the transition to the management of the conquered and the reorganization of the territories. There were the following participants in this war: firstly, two superpowers - the United States and the Soviet Union with their satellites; secondly, most European states; thirdly, Latin America, Africa and part of Asia and Oceania. The countries of the periphery revolved around the US or the USSR according to what suited them best. Behind the superpowers and the countries of the periphery were spectators and victims, that is, the rest of the world. The struggle between the superpowers was not always direct. Often it was carried out through other countries. While the large industrialized states joined one bloc or another, the rest of the countries and their populations acted as spectators or victims. The main characteristics of this war were: the first - the arms race, the second - local wars. The nuclear-armed superpowers competed with each other to see how many times they could destroy the world. The way to put pressure on the enemy was to demonstrate superior strength. And at the same time, local wars were unleashed in different parts of the planet, behind which stood the superpowers.

According to this concept, immediately after the end of the Third World War, the United States and its allies began the Fourth World War, the purpose of which is to establish complete control over the planet [ ] .

Scenario and aftermath

Unlike previous world wars, potential World War III scenarios involving nuclear weapons in the 1970s and 1980s were fast paced. The flight time of the Minuteman ICBMs launched from the United States against targets in the USSR was about 35 minutes. R-36M missiles, which were mainly on combat duty in the USSR, would have taken about the same time to reach cities and other important objects in the United States. Given this, the first and retaliatory strike, which would wipe out the largest cities and military bases of the enemy from the face of the Earth, could occur within tens of minutes.

In the event of a massive use of nuclear weapons in the Third World War, most of humanity could be destroyed. According to experts from the UN commission, by the end of 1980, the total stock of nuclear weapons on Earth was about 13 gigatonnes in TNT equivalent. According to the estimates of the international journal of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the release of 5,000 nuclear projectiles with a total yield of two gigatonnes on the main cities of the northern hemisphere can lead to a one-time death of 750 million people from only one of the damaging factors - the shock wave. Thus, according to Andrey Sakharov, in the 1980s, the nuclear arsenal of mankind was sufficient for its complete extermination.

However, despite the existing military potential of the states that are members of the "Nuclear Club", the likelihood of the use of atomic weapons by these states remains low due to the current lack of an effective defense strategy that would be able to protect the "aggressor" from retaliation from " victims" of aggression. Attempts to create an effective missile defense system have had some success (for example, within the framework of the SDI program), but the effectiveness of such a system is far from 100%, and the risk of falling under nuclear strike on its own territory, even on a much smaller scale than on the territory of the enemy, is politically unacceptable for all developed states. In literature and cinematography, the possibility of the defense system getting out of control of the political leadership of the country or the coming to power of the country of an irresponsible leader is often played up, which leads to the mutual destruction of opponents, despite the practical meaninglessness of such a strategic decision.

At the moment, the only way to protect against atomic weapons is to deploy economically important objects in deep underground shelters, which from an economic point of view would be an extremely difficult project to implement, and therefore only extremely important defense organizations are located in underground shelters. (For example, NORAD, located in Cheyenne Mountain. At the same time, even this level of protection is not able to ensure the safety of this object from being hit by a powerful thermonuclear projectile. Especially penetrating.)

However, in reality, the destruction of defense facilities (the military-industrial complex) and key infrastructure elements (ports, bridges, transport/railway junctions, power plants, etc.) along with a significant number of civilians living near bombing sites, despite the severity of the consequences, all is not an insurmountable catastrophe of the state and even more so of the international level. Existence effective system civil defense can significantly reduce civilian casualties. For example, in Switzerland there is a developed network of anti-nuclear shelters, which, after the accident at the nuclear power plant in Fukushima, received “ new life as a refuge from a possible man-made disaster of this type. The standard Swiss shelter (which, according to building regulations, is located under both private houses and under public buildings) is designed for a thermonuclear strike of 12 Mt at a distance of 700 meters, which allows a significant number, if not the majority of the population to survive after a severe thermonuclear blow to the country. So it is quite possible that the conflict with the use of thermonuclear weapons will not be limited to mutual bombing, and after the first strike and retaliatory strike, the war will develop in the traditional way with the parties involved in operations to gain control over certain theaters of military operations. At the moment, however, the "superpowers" do not have a "civilian" defense system like that of Switzerland (apart from the existing underground metro systems). The situation will probably change if atomic weapons are used by any country during hostilities. For example, the possibility of the use of such weapons by rogue states (for example, North Korea) is currently a matter of concern not only for the United States [ ] .

Points of tension at the beginning of the 21st century

At the beginning of the 21st century, the main points of tension are on the borders between Pakistan and India (see: Indo-Pakistani conflict), as well as Israel and Palestine (Iran is on the side of the latter).

Indo-Pakistani conflict

Arab-Israeli conflict

A similar situation is developing around the Arab-Israeli conflict: the United States has an ally Israel, and the Arab states traditionally buy weapons in Russia (with the exception of Egypt, which actively cooperates with the United States and the European Union in the military-technical sphere). And if the Arab-Israeli conflict develops to the level of war, a direct or indirect confrontation between the nuclear powers - the United States and Russia may arise [ ] . (In any case, an Arab-Israeli or some other Middle Eastern "Korean War" is quite possible.)

As part of the round table "Military concepts and weapons of the future", which was held at MGIMO, a number of prominent scientists and experts expressed their opinion on a number of issues related to this topic. Thus, the first vice-president of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, Doctor of Military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov [ ] made a report "Assessment of the reality of world war, as the main tool out of global crisis, and its probable character". He highlighted the likelihood of the start of a world war, the main reasons for its occurrence, who can act as opposing sides and a number of other issues.
