The Vostok group burst into Russian show business in 1996, however, the formation of the group began a little earlier. The fact is that the music producer of the project, Gennady Filippov, was very fond of English groups in the euro-pop style. Without thinking twice, the enterprising producer decided to create his own project and called it "East Meets West", which translated means “East meets West.” The team worked in the West and, although not very popular, was still popular. In 1994, the English-language album "Feel The World" was released.

In 1996, show businessman Alexander Tolmatsky invited the group to work in Russia, changing the name to “Vostok” and English to Russian. The guys agreed without hesitation. The lineup included two vocalists - Larisa Filippova and Natasha Sigaeva, a keyboard player - Andrei Rusakovsky and the ideological inspirer of the entire project - Gennady Filippov. The first Russian album was the record. The hit of the same name was successfully rotated on the radio and was soon joined by a bomb song - a composition that became the calling card of Vostok. Quite a bit of time passed and the guys released a new hit, which was later included in the 1997 album of the same name. All compositions were distinguished by modernity in arrangements, stylishness in voices and a European, arrogant gloss. And if abroad, the “euro-pop” style was already represented by many teams, then for Russia “Vostok” was new. This played an important role in the promotion of the team. At the end of the summer of 1998, the guys presented fans with two new compositions at once: incendiary and stunningly beautiful in depth of lyricism. And everything seemed to be fine, when suddenly...

At one of the press conferences, the boss of the project, Alexander Tolmatsky, gave the guys an ultimatum: either a contract for 50 years, or you abandon the Vostok brand and do what you want, but without me. The guys did not agree to sign the life-long sentence, and as a result, they had to give up their successful name. Andrei Rusakovsky especially advocated for the termination of the contract, who soon brought a “surprise” to his bandmates.

In the meantime, Tolmatsky, together with his friend, recruited a new lineup for the Vostok group and began promotion. But the new faces did not catch on and gradually, “Vostok” lost its popularity. Meanwhile, the first team also experienced problems. However, albums continued to be released. In 1999, having replaced “East” with “West”, the famous four released two albums “Cold in my soul...” and “Not nonsense”. They were almost not promoted, because... there was no money, and the guys basically didn’t want to look for a sponsor, remembering the sad story with Tolmatsky. At the beginning of 2000, Andrei Rusakovsky suddenly decided to leave the “West”, taking Natasha Sigaeva with him. Having taken on the role of producer, Andrey begins to promote Natasha under her own name. The born project was very popular among young people and had every chance of life, but without even lasting a year, Natasha was “left with nothing.” Of her hits, only two compositions can be distinguished - And, they were released on the singer’s only and disastrous disc.

Larisa and Gennady Filippov also did not sit still. Once again, changing the name now from “West” to “Loris”, they began to sing again, mainly the same repertoire that was in “East” and “West”. The lost years and the music industry, filled with one-day projects, have taken their toll. "Loris" was classified as a second-tier project, which clearly did not suit its creators. In 2004, Larisa and Gena replaced “Loris” with “Ex Vostok” and released the album “Call”, and a year later they released a weak record of remixes. This is where the story of Vostok ends.

The story ends, but life makes its own adjustments. 90s music is in fashion today. “Vostok” was not remembered for a long time, when suddenly the NTV channel decided to reunite the disbanded cast. Natasha again joined Gena and Larisa, and Sigaeva’s husband was taken in Andrei’s place. With this lineup, the group played a successful concert of proven hits in one of the Moscow clubs. The audience was delighted and after the concert there was a rumor that “Vostok” would return to the show business arena, but time will tell how true this rumor is.

"East"- Russian musical pop group. She gained fame thanks to such hits as “Mirages”, “Until We Meet”, “Dance of the Yellow Leaves”, “The Snow Queen”.

Story

Group Maxi, New Maxi

In the early 80s, composer Gennady Filippov decided to create a musical group in the style of dance music. The project was called MAXI and became very popular in the West. After Andrei Rusakovsky joined the group, the group changed its name to New Maxi. The group performed songs mainly in English and became one of the first Russian (Soviet) musical projects performing songs in English. The musicians recorded in Swedish studios and also performed at a music festival in London. The performance impressed foreign music critics and brought popularity to the group itself. Having gained popularity among listeners, the group went to record in America.

East Meets West

The debut album was recorded at one of the studios in America, after the release of which the project changed its name to East Meets West. Larisa Filippova and Natalya Sigaeva appear in the group. After finishing recording the album in America, the musicians return to Russia. The group begins cooperation with producer Alexander Tolmatsky.

East

Having signed a contract with Tolmatsky, the group changes its name to “Vostok”. Anatoly Lopatin became the new arranger of the group.

In 1996, the group received the Golden Gramophone for the song “Mirages”. The song “Before We Meet” also became popular, being included in the rotation of various radio stations in the country.

The songs “Snow Queen”, “Dance of the Yellow Leaves”, “Only Rain”, “Don’t Stop” repeated the success of the two previous songs, hitting all sorts of Russian charts. In 1998, due to a conflict with producer Alexander Tolmatsky, the group stopped collaborating with him. For some time, the musicians performed under the pseudonyms “West” and “Ex-East”. At the same time, in Germany, together with producer Didi Hamann, the album “Cold in My Soul” was recorded, but it was not widely popular, after which the group broke up.

After the breakup of the group, Natalya pursues a solo career under the pseudonym “Natasha”, working on a project in Italy, while Gennady and Larisa are simultaneously working on the “Loris” project.

2009-2010: Reunion

In 2009, the Vostok group reunited with a new lineup. Andrei Rusakovsky was replaced by Dmitry Volkov, who for all the years of the group’s existence was its sound engineer. Dmitry was replaced as a sound engineer by Oleg Ivanov, technical director of the Metal Corrosion group. Immediately after the reunion, the Vostok group performed at the festival of the 90s: “Legends of Retro FM” (Retro FM), “Diskach of the 90s” (DFM), “Disko-Dacha” (Radio Dacha), etc.

Excerpt characterizing the East (group)

“I’m not afraid of anything,” said Sonya. - Can I do it now? - She stood up. They told Sonya where the barn was, how she could stand silently and listen, and they gave her a fur coat. She threw it over her head and looked at Nikolai.
“What a beauty this girl is!” he thought. “And what have I been thinking about so far!”
Sonya went out into the corridor to go to the barn. Nikolai hurriedly went to the front porch, saying that he was hot. Indeed, the house was stuffy from the crowded people.
It was the same motionless cold outside, the same month, only it was even lighter. The light was so strong and there were so many stars on the snow that I didn’t want to look at the sky, and the real stars were invisible. In the sky it was black and boring, on earth it was fun.
“I’m a fool, a fool! What have you been waiting for so far? thought Nikolai and, running onto the porch, he walked around the corner of the house along the path that led to the back porch. He knew that Sonya would come here. Halfway along the road there were stacked fathoms of firewood, there was snow on them, and a shadow fell from them; through them and from their sides, intertwining, the shadows of old bare linden trees fell onto the snow and the path. The path led to the barn. The chopped wall of the barn and the roof, covered with snow, as if carved from some kind of precious stone, glittered in the monthly light. A tree cracked in the garden, and again everything was completely silent. The chest seemed to breathe not air, but some kind of eternally youthful strength and joy.
Feet clattered on the steps from the maiden porch, there was a loud creaking sound on the last one, which was covered with snow, and the voice of an old girl said:
- Straight, straight, along the path, young lady. Just don't look back.
“I’m not afraid,” answered Sonya’s voice, and Sonya’s legs squealed and whistled in her thin shoes along the path towards Nikolai.
Sonya walked wrapped in a fur coat. She was already two steps away when she saw him; She also saw him not as she knew him and as she had always been a little afraid. He was in a woman's dress with tangled hair and a happy and new smile for Sonya. Sonya quickly ran up to him.
“Completely different, and still the same,” thought Nikolai, looking at her face, all illuminated by moonlight. He put his hands under the fur coat that covered her head, hugged her, pressed her to him and kissed her on the lips, above which there was a mustache and from which there was a smell of burnt cork. Sonya kissed him in the very center of his lips and, extending her small hands, took his cheeks on both sides.
“Sonya!... Nicolas!...” they just said. They ran to the barn and returned each from their own porch.

When everyone drove back from Pelageya Danilovna, Natasha, who always saw and noticed everything, arranged the accommodation in such a way that Luiza Ivanovna and she sat in the sleigh with Dimmler, and Sonya sat with Nikolai and the girls.
Nikolai, no longer overtaking, rode smoothly on the way back, and still peering at Sonya in this strange moonlight, looking for in this ever-changing light, from under his eyebrows and mustache, that former and present Sonya, with whom he had decided never again to be separated. He peered, and when he recognized the same and the other and remembered, hearing that smell of cork, mixed with the feeling of a kiss, he deeply inhaled the frosty air and, looking at the receding earth and the brilliant sky, he felt himself again in a magical kingdom.
- Sonya, are you okay? – he asked occasionally.
“Yes,” answered Sonya. - And you?
In the middle of the road, Nikolai let the coachman hold the horses, ran up to Natasha’s sleigh for a moment and stood on the lead.
“Natasha,” he told her in a whisper in French, “you know, I’ve made up my mind about Sonya.”
-Did you tell her? – Natasha asked, suddenly beaming with joy.
- Oh, how strange you are with those mustaches and eyebrows, Natasha! Are you glad?
– I’m so glad, so glad! I was already angry with you. I didn't tell you, but you treated her badly. This is such a heart, Nicolas. I am so glad! “I can be nasty, but I was ashamed to be the only happy one without Sonya,” Natasha continued. “Now I’m so glad, well, run to her.”
- No, wait, oh, how funny you are! - said Nikolai, still peering at her, and in his sister, too, finding something new, extraordinary and charmingly tender, which he had never seen in her before. - Natasha, something magical. A?

“Vostok” is a popular Russian musical group of the 90s.

The group became famous thanks to such hits as “Mirages”, “Until We Meet”, “Dance of the Yellow Leaves”, “Snow Queen”. He is one of the brightest representatives of the Eurodance era - the era of dance music of the 90s.

The Vostok group came to us from the era of the 90s, during which it was very popular not only in post-Soviet countries, but also abroad. The group's dance hits were remembered and loved by listeners, which is why the group has recently been restored to its previous lineup and continues to delight everyone with its creativity. Anyone can invite the Vostok group to a concert. The group can perform at a birthday, corporate event, anniversary, wedding, or party.
Moreover, he will do it with such fiery energy that all your guests will be completely delighted with the holiday. We will help with organizing the performance, introduce you to the technical and everyday life of the rider, and do everything possible to make your holiday a success.
The founder of the group, Gennady Filippov, was fond of music, wrote songs and dreamed of having his own musical project, a group that would be popular throughout the world.
That’s why the Maxi team was born. The group's music moved with the times and was very popular among young people. The sound was a little reminiscent of the music of Depeche Mode, which was then at the crest of popularity. At that time it was a unique project, performing all its songs in English.
After working a little in Russia, the guys decided to move to the West. Their first performances delighted the English public, and then it was decided to head for America.
In America, the group takes on a slightly different sound, and also changes its name to “East Meets West”.
The group's creativity during this period was reminiscent of the Ace Of Base group. The team returns to their homeland in triumph, but there are huge changes in the former union and the group is not particularly interesting to anyone. The members change their sound again, this time it becomes more danceable and harder.

The team is noticed by Alexander Tolmatsky and offers his services as a producer. It also suggests the name “East”, which stuck and never changed.
At the end of the 90s, the group finally became the most popular in Russia. The tracks “Mirages” and “See You” were heard from all radios. Then other songs were performed: “Dance of the Yellow Leaves”, “Don’t Stop”, “Snow Queen”, “Only Rain”.
But after a conflict with the producer, the group stops working and goes into oblivion. And only in 2009 the long-awaited reunion of the team with the same composition took place.

The group "VOSTOK" has rushed into the Russian show - business in 1995, having blown up mad hit "Mirages" so popular, that the song sounded even from irons and refrigerators... After "Mirages" have appeared åù ¸ a little gold is hit: "Âñ ¸ the Sky", "See you", "the Snow Queen", "Dance Yellow Ëèñòüåâ" - and everyone, as the control shot, put one more mark of exclamation after a word a HIT...

That, what"s happened further, perhaps everyone knows of the project: on peak of popularity the group "East" as sharply has disappeared, as well as has appeared. A little who knew, that happened with the project, where the participants of "EAST" and why have disappeared...

History of occurrence of group "East".

In the beginning of the 90s, in the Russian Empire, young, but the talented composer Gálííàäèé FÔèëèïîâ experiments with sounding of the new project "East Meets West", that in translation means "East meet" s West". He tries to find firm "son", not "son", and with western sound by sounding (he was then understood, that his(its) liked group - "ABBA"). Some compositions have liked western Europe and the project had the certain success in Europe and USA, that has given many useful acquaintances to the famous people (Äèäè KÕàìàíí, Äèòåð Is sick, RÐîí Óàéò and äð...) and, most important, the invaluable experience and appreciation in "PROBABLY ÂÑ ¨" was received...

Having returned in Russia, Ãåííàäèé writes a new material, with newer and fashionable sounding (then the style "EURODANCE" with such bright representatives, as DJ Bobo, "2 Unlimited", DR. Alban, "Ace Of Base", "E- Type", Haddaway was popular...) and it to him óäà¸òñÿ. The acquaintance with the tyranny and change of the name of collective with one shorter and Russian - "EAST" was farther. structures èé (key) and mental vâfõíîòåëü - Gåííàäèé FÔèëèïïîâ. Bright image, modern dancing sounding, correct texts and the communications(connection) have given acknowledgment(confirmation) of a fidelity of the formula And where Popularity, there and Success. So most fashionable and "about - western" Russian group "EAST" has appeared.

The disintegration of group in 1998 was called incorrect decision by the decision and dissonance between the participants of the group. It is "soft" brief treatment without a mention of the persons.

After dissonance with sir, Gâlíàäèé continues to write songs. The following album leaves in 1999 under the direction of known western history. The group is called "West", structure same, and songs "the Cold in my Soul", "Can Be to us To become closer", "To not stop" again sound on radio stations and it would seem, âñ ¸ it is good, but... Suddenly "West" has decided(solved) to leave(abandon) Àíäðåé, with it(him) left and Íàòàøà. Àíäðåé begins to untwist as the solo project. Well, having written down some songs have won quite good popularity among youth and had all chances of success, but in one year the project is closed (reason are not known).

In next time, having changed the name from "West" on "Lass", Lass and Gay again try to win popularity. But missed time and change of a musical style prevent: "Lyun" and has remained the unknown project.

In 2004 Great Britain again changes the name, already on "East East", the album leaves "Call", with new sounding, and in one year issues a disk edition. On it the history of "East" was finished.)

2009. In a style music 90. The concerts of auto Radio and Retro ÔÌ pass "on hurrah", shows - program "a Disco 80", "ÄèñêkîòÝêà", and other similar shows have shown, that the present love and fidelity of the admirers can create miracles. After information kommy, after long silence, group "EAST" again vyañîåäèíèëàñü: a Gene and Ëàðèñå again has adjoined Íàòàøà, and instead of Àíäðåÿ with a role êëàâèøí They have charged the husband. In this structure the group "EAST" excellent has acted on a stage of auto RADIO, the public was in delight: the hall echoed, and after a concert the hearings have appeared, that "East" again comes back to the large stage, but as far as these hearings - are truthful will show time...)

The group "VOSTOK" burst into Russian show business in 1995, blowing it up with the crazy hit "Mirages", so popular that the song was heard even from irons and refrigerators... Following "Mirages" several more gold hits appeared: "All the Sky ", "See You", "Snow Queen", "Dance of the Yellow Leaves" - and each, like a control shot, put another exclamation mark after the word HIT...

What happened next is perhaps the fate of every production project: at the peak of its popularity, the Vostok group disappeared as abruptly as it had appeared. Few people knew what happened to the project, where the VOSTOK participants disappeared and why...

The history of the emergence of the group "Vostok".

In the early 90s, in Krasnogorsk near Moscow, a young but talented composer Gennady Filippov was experimenting with the sound of his new project “East Meets West”, which translated means “East Meets West”. Gennady is trying to find his signature “sound”, not “soviet”, but with a Western Euro-pop sound (he later admitted that his favorite group is “ABBA”). Several compositions were liked by Western producers and the project had some success in Europe and the USA, which gave many useful contacts with famous people (Didi Hamann, Dieter Bohlen, Ron White, etc...) and, most importantly, invaluable experience and faith in "EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE"...

Returning to Russia, Gennady writes new material, with a newer and more fashionable sound (then the "EURODANCE" style was popular with such prominent representatives as DJ Bobo, "2 Unlimited", DR. Alban, "Ace Of Base", "E- Type", Haddaway...) and he succeeds. Then there was an acquaintance with producer Tolmatsky and a change in the name of the group to a shorter and Russian-language one - “VOSTOK”. The group included two vocalists - Larisa Filippova and Natasha Sigaeva, as well as Andrei Rusakovsky (keys) and the ideological inspirer - Gennady Filippov. A bright image, modern dance sound, correct lyrics and the producer’s connections confirmed the correctness of the formula Hits + Rotation = Popularity. And where there is Popularity, there is Success. This is how the most fashionable and “pro-Western” Russian group “VOSTOK” appeared.

The band's breakup in 1998 was caused by poor production decisions and discord between band members. This is a “soft” brief interpretation without mentioning personalities.

After a disagreement with the producer, Gennady continues to write songs. The next album was released in 1999 under the direction of famous Western producer Didi Hamann. The group is called “West”, the composition is the same, and the songs “Cold in My Soul”, “Maybe We Will Become Closer”, “Don’t Stop” are heard again on radio stations and it would seem that everything is fine, but... suddenly “West” Andrei decided to leave, and Natasha left with him. Andrey begins to promote Natasha as a solo project. Natasha, having recorded several songs, gained good popularity among young people and had every chance of success, but a year later the project was closed (the reasons are unknown).

Once again, having changed the name from “West” to “Loris”, Larisa and Gennady are again trying to gain popularity. But lost time and changes in musical fashion get in the way: “Loris” remained an unknown project.

In 2004, Gennady again changed the name, now to “Ex Vostok”, the album “Call” was released, with a new sound, and a year later a remix disc was released. This is where the story of Vostok ends. WOULD)

year 2009. 90s music is in fashion. The concerts of Avtoradio and Retro FM go off with a bang, the show programs “Disco of the 80s”, “DiscotEka”, and other similar shows have shown that true love and devotion of fans can work wonders. After an information coma, after many years of silence, the VOSTOK group reunited again: Natasha again joined Gena and Larisa, and instead of Andrey, the role of the fourth member of the group was taken by Dmitry Volkov, who throughout the years of the group’s existence was its sound engineer and an integral part of it, and in the 90s he was one of the best DJs in the country , working under the pseudonym DJ Cola.

With this lineup, the group "VOSTOK" performed brilliantly on the AUTORADIO stage, the audience was delighted: the audience sang along, and after the concert there were rumors that "Vostok" was returning to the big stage again, but how true these rumors are - time will tell...)

Currently, work is underway on a new single and the idea of a remix contest of one of the past hits. Several photo shoots for posters and covers are scheduled for the end of February.
