But about four times a month she sought emergency medical attention. Pain and, as a result, insomnia relentlessly pursued her. For a doctor, there is nothing more difficult than watching his patient suffer. I decided to introduce Paula to my friend Nick Ortner. Introduction

I looked pretty stupid. At least so it seemed to me. It was the spring of 2004. I sat alone, staring at the monitor, talking to myself and tapping my fingers on different parts of my body. If you looked at my window at this moment, you would definitely think that there is a madman in front of you.

I really was a little out of my mind at that moment. The neck pain I woke up with that morning was very bad. I had no idea how I would live with her even for a day. You probably know what I'm talking about. Everyone has experienced this at some point. You sleep in an uncomfortable position and wake up with stiff muscles and neck pain. For a day, two, or even three you feel like a robot - neither turn nor nod your head. I was ready to do anything to get rid of this pain. Even something weird, like tapping your fingers on different parts of your body.

I've heard a lot about meridian tapping, or the Emotional Freedom Technique, which is a kind of combination of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Proponents of this method believe that it helps in a variety of situations. I read stories of miraculous healing one after another. In the end, I decided: why not? Maybe I should try too. Let's see what happens.

To my amazement, the pain, which usually went away in a few days, disappeared in 10 minutes. What a relief! I can turn my head like a normal person, I don't have to suffer all day. Tapping really helps!

Satisfied that I was able to free myself from the pain, I was about to go to work, but suddenly it dawned on me: this method can help to get rid of not only the pain in the neck. What else can I change with it? It's not just about getting rid of pain quickly. This little experiment opened up an ocean of possibilities for me that I had never thought of before.

Many of us are accustomed to thinking that it takes some time to solve a problem - if, in our opinion, it can be solved at all. But what if from physical pain, health problems, addictions, relationship difficulties, financial difficulties - from everything can to free yourself easily and quickly? What if the impossible is still possible?

Such thoughts began to appear in me after I first tried tapping. Heck, maybe the neck pain was somehow preventing adequate blood flow to the brain! And only now, freed from pain, I could think more clearly! I began to imagine what else I would change in my life, how I would help my loved ones.

At first it was just a hobby. I myself often used the tapping method, then I began to help friends and my family members. Soon I had a private practice - my first clients.

Time and time again I was amazed at the results I saw. Then I categorized it “I don’t know how it works. But it works! And this is the main point". Now, recent scientific research has shed light on exactly what processes are at the heart of the tapping method and why it brings such radical positive changes.

At that time, EFT (Technique of Emotional Freedom) was already practiced by tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people around the world. There was a growing community where members learned the principles of the method and shared the results. But still, many were skeptical about technology. I had a strong desire to spread this healing method.

So, without any experience in filmmaking and on a tight budget (over-limit credit cards and a few short-term loans) - I decided to make a documentary about the incredible results TPP is producing. My little sister Jessica and my best friend Nick Polizzi (yes, there are two Nicks in this story) came to help me. I wanted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method on real facts. To make a film that would not only be interesting to watch, but with the help of which one could learn how to use this unique technique.

The first six months we toured the country and recorded interviews with experts, doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, self-development coaches and authors of popular books who used the Emotional Freedom Technique. They shared their passion, enthusiasm and positive experiences with us. Although the footage was interesting and useful, we still lacked something else. We had to film not only the stories of real people who used the technique, and describe their past experiences. We wanted to show the method with an example in the process - how it works in real time.

This is what brought me and Nick Polizzi in the fall of 2007 to Austin, Texas, to Jodie MacDonald's home. Jodie suffered from fibromyalgia 2

- a painful and not always correctly diagnosed condition. Here we wanted to collect material ahead of time before the important shootings scheduled in a few weeks. For them, we found 10 people with various problems - chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, insomnia, recent survivors of grief. We had to take a course with them in order to see how the Emotional Freedom Technique could help them.

We were going to record a story about Jodie's condition, the difficulties she had to deal with before starting the process itself. I was eager to get to know Jody, to find out exactly what was happening to her and how EFT could help her.

At the first glance at Jody - a bright smile, lively eyes - you would never have guessed what a serious illness torments her. How often does she wake up at night from pain, and during the day she almost climbs on the walls. Because of this pain, she had to give up long walks, almost stop using the stairs - even at rest, she often experienced this pain. Eight years ago, Jody was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which is now slowly destroying her life.

Teacher, aspiring writer, wife, mother of four, Jody was determined to continue living life to the fullest. No matter how persistent the pain was, Jody could not come to terms with the fact that her illness, according to the doctor, is incurable. She strongly believed in positive psychology, the Law of Attraction 3

And she continued to smile. She refused to give up.

After a few minutes of conversation, it turned out that as a child she had experienced several psychologically traumatic situations - in particular, she saw her father hitting her mother. Despite this, she chose to remain a positive, active person who helps others most of her time. She tried her best to be happy, went to doctors, tried alternative therapies. She did everything she could to overcome the pain and heal, but nothing worked. What is the matter here? And can this seemingly strange tapping technique help?

I was very sympathetic to Jody and wanted to start working with her on the EFT method right here and now. But we had to wait, we decided that I would not introduce the method to her until the planned four-day event in a few weeks, which I mentioned above.

After Jody told us her story and treated us to a wonderful dinner (definitely the best treat of our trip), we hit the road again to visit the rest of the wonderful people who were supposed to attend our event. These people desperately wanted to be cured.

Donna had breast cancer. She suffered from her illness emotionally and physically. She suffered from debilitating insomnia.

John is a Vietnam War veteran. For thirty years he suffered from chronic back pain. They were not cured by doctors, surgeons, or medications.

Rene could not cope with his grief. He lost his wife in a car accident three months ago.

Jackie was afraid to speak in public and was too shy to achieve what she so wanted.

A lot of people wanted to take part in the filming. To say that I sympathized with these people with all my heart is to say nothing. If these ten people suffered so much, looked for ways to solve their problems and did not find them, how many millions or even billions of people are in a similar situation? The main question - will my method help them?

In this book, I will talk about everything that happened. For now, just let me finish the story with Jody. Once the doctors diagnosed her with an "incurable" disease and could not help. She was relieved of pain on the second day of our four-day course. Years later, the pain did not return, and her life changed in many other areas. (I'll talk more about her inspiring story in Chapter 6.)

If Jodie has achieved this extraordinary result with such a serious illness, what can you achieve?

Now it's your turn. Are you ready for a change? Are there problems or circumstances in your life that you would like to change? Maybe it's a childhood trauma, anxiety disorder, health problems, being overweight, financial difficulties, or relationship difficulties. Whatever your situation, the Emotional Freedom Technique has proven to be effective on a wide variety of occasions. In this book, we will go over each of these situations in detail and explore how to use the technique to deal with it. How to change psychological attitudes, which are often at the root of our problems.

I don't need to be clairvoyant to say that you make the same mistakes, sometimes with small changes, throughout your life. I don't even need to meet with you to realize that you are very worried that you do the same things over and over and, as expected, come to the same results.

Chances are, you've said to yourself countless times:

"Oh, I can't believe I did it again."

"Why did I tell him this ... again?"

"Why did I eat this ... again?"

"Why didn't I go to the gym ... again?"

"Why don't I have money ... again?"

“Why am I upset (or angry, confused, overworked, anxious, tired) ... again?

I guess this is an edited version of what you are telling yourself. Most likely with yourself you do not stand on ceremony at all. Most of us add a couple more unprintable words to these phrases.

What annoys you most is that you are trying to improve. But still ... nothing comes of it. It's also terribly offensive. It’s one thing if you didn’t know that you are behaving the same way and repeating mistakes. But you know! And everything is repeated in a circle. In the process of reading the book, you will realize that most of the way you behave is a program that was embedded in the subconscious in childhood. You learned this from your parents, teachers, friends.

Remembering the past, we can determine which particular psychological attitude leads to this or that behavior, but the problem is that it is very difficult to find a way to get rid of it.

You can visit a psychologist or psychiatrist and discuss your problem with them for months, but you can’t wait for the results. And if you wait, then not as soon as we would like. Temporary relief, of course, can come quickly enough, however, when you notice that everything is back to normal, a long and painful process of therapy will undermine your belief that someday there will be a change. Either way, well-known methods can shake your confidence in being in control of your own life.

This has continued until now.

The action of EFT is unlike anything I had to deal with before getting acquainted with this method. In Chapter 13, I describe how this small but extraordinary revolution took place, how people in different parts of the world got rid of their psychological trauma. But before we learn about how this method changes the world, let's find out how it can change just one life - yours.

Remember when we talked about attitudes? Finally, a way of liberation from them, final victory over them has been found. The method I am writing about gets to the root of the problem, brings the mind and body into harmony, changes the feeling of the world. This method can be used for any situation. Why this happens, I will explain in the next chapter. But first, we'll focus on how to use EFT in life situations that are crushing and negatively affecting you. Later, you will learn to teach the method to others.

In the second chapter, I explain how the Emotional Freedom Technique works, so you can try it on yourself. Once you understand the basics of the process and get a feel for how it can help you, I'll explain why many are not ready for change. Often, the desire for change is hampered by attitudes and complexes driven into the subconscious. In the third chapter, we will apply EFT to these settings so that the rest of the book will be of maximum benefit to you.

In the fourth chapter, you will learn how to use EFT to relieve stress, anxiety, fatigue, and overexertion that most of us have.

The fifth chapter is perhaps the most useful. Here we turn to the connection between negative experiences in childhood and the circumstances in which we find ourselves now. The most striking results that I have seen, TPP gives exactly in this area.

In the next two chapters, we will look at how to use EFT for physical problems. In the sixth chapter, I will talk about how stress affects our physical condition and how to use EFT in this case. Chapter seven provides practical advice on how to relieve physical pain. Chapter 8 teaches you how to use EFT to combat addictions to improve your figure and lose weight. I know that many readers are concerned about this, and you would like to skip straight to this chapter - but I advise you not to. You need the information from the previous chapters so that you can use EFT to combat obesity more effectively.

In chapters 9 and 10, I will share the most amazing stories from my personal experiences with EFT. In particular, I will talk about attracting love into my life, changing my beliefs and subsequent experience in the financial sector. I'll explain how you can accomplish the same thing with amazing speed.

In perhaps the most inspiring chapter 13, we learn about the groundbreaking EFT work that individuals and organizations are doing around the world.

In the final 14th chapter, I will present a new way of looking at lifestyle from an EFT perspective. These are opportunities and new ideas that will help you get closer to the life you have always dreamed of.

Paula suffered from terrible, debilitating headaches. For the past ten years they have tortured her almost every day. I prescribed her migraine medicine and sleeping pills. But about four times a month she sought emergency medical attention. Pain and, as a result, insomnia relentlessly pursued her. In addition to medication, she changed her lifestyle in a way that practice has shown usually helped in such situations: she reduced the amount of gluten, meat, dairy products consumed, took dietary supplements, but everything was useless. It seemed that this pain would never subside.

For a doctor, there is nothing more difficult than watching his patient suffer. I decided to introduce Paula to my friend Nick Ortner. I looked pretty stupid. At least so it seemed to me. It was the spring of 2004. I sat alone, staring at the monitor, talking to myself and tapping my fingers on different parts of my body. If you looked at my window at this moment, you would definitely think that there is a madman in front of you.

I really was a little out of my mind at that moment. The neck pain I woke up with that morning was very bad. I had no idea how I would live with her even for a day. You probably know what I'm talking about. Everyone has experienced this at some point. You sleep in an uncomfortable position and wake up with stiff muscles and neck pain. For a day, two, or even three you feel like a robot - neither turn nor nod your head. I was ready to do anything to get rid of this pain.
